Big fan of Stir Crazy's work! It's definitely a must visit whenever I am in the neighborhood. While they can be quite busy on the weekends, the service has been quick for coffee orders, though I can't speak for the speed of ordering food. I highly recommend the Pollinator and Rosemary Brown Sugar lattes, as they're a great mix of unique flavor without overpowering the taste of the coffee. read more

Came by during a Saturday morning and it was very busy. I got a speciality latte, there pollinator($6) and it was made in about 7 mins. The latte was really good! I enjoyed the right sweet to coffee ratio. The syrup they used definitely made this drink stand out to other shops. Probably one of my favorite cafes in RVA that offers both a mean latte and an extensive food menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Stir crazy is one of those places that all the locals know about and is extremely busy on the weekends, for good reason.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As an iced latte fanatic, some of my favorites include the gingerbread and pollinator lattes. Only thing is, as a muslim who prefers eating halal, I wish that they'd have more food options without bacon/sausage or at least that they'd be open to doing more substitutions. The biscuit I had here was EXACTLY what I needed. Moist, and perfectly buttery. As someone who absolutely loves breakfast sandwiches and biscuits, I can confidently say this one was top tier. The flavors were spot on! Second time here and I like this spot.. Both times had a biscuit and coffee. The BEC biscuit was great. Tried the country ham biscuit the second time. Flaky biscuit, salty ham, sweet apple butter and cheddar cheese (added egg on mine). First time I ordered to go but I dined in this time. Service was great both times was great. Friendly staff and quick turnaround on my food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great scene too. Came to Stir Crazy for the first time on a beautiful Saturday morning. The place was PACKED. All of the indoor and outdoor seating was taken and at some points the line to order was almost to the door. The staff were super friendly and for as busy as they were the food and drinks came out very quickly. They have a really large menu for a cafe, lots of sandwich options and breakfast options too. Oh how I want to give 4 stars but after this visit I can only give 3. Like I said the service was incredible, no notes. Unfortunately the sandwich I ordered just wasn't hitting. I ordered the Cali with the potato salad. My partner ordered the Italian and I was so jealous of his meal, his sandwich was really really good. We also ordered iced vanilla lattes which were very very milky, like barely brown almost white in color. I went back and ordered a quad espresso to add to our lattes which did make them better. I definitely want to give this cafe another shot, I want to love it so badly since we live so close and the staff were soooo friendly. Will update once we come back! read more

If you're in Lakeside, this is the coffee spot to go! They had a line to the door, very busy but I received my food and chai latte - hot and ready - within 10 minutes. The bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel was delicious and flavorful. Great place for morning coffee! If I lived in the area, I would be here every day. During a mid-January 2023 business trip to Richmond, I was staying at a hotel about an 8-minute drive away from John Bryan Park (where I went for a morning jog), and found this cafe through Yelp. First, it's easy to find street parking as it's in a residential neighborhood with a mix of apartments, retail shops, and single family bungalow style houses. Second, the interior is pleasant and would be a nice place to work. Third, the coffee (regular drip) is awesome here. Overall, the service was friendly and professional. If you're in this neighborhood north of downtown Richmond and seeking good coffee, be sure to give this place a try! read more

Love this place! Living in the neighborhood has this beautiful perk of walking to places and Stir Crazy is one of them. The people are always so friendly and do a great job with the beverages, food and cleanliness of the space. The food is really good. I got my stuff to go today so the pictures don't do it Justice. They usually make beautiful coffees in mugs and you can sit by their faux fire and relax. I get a plain bagel with Pb for my kid and they have plenty options for littles to enjoy. You can get wraps in a bowl if you'd like and it's jam packed with flavor. Everyone is usually nice who comes here too so make a trip over and try it out. Their pollinator latte is one of the best lattes I've had in Richmond so far. The food is always great, whether it's for breakfast or lunch. I love their breakfast biscuits with veggie sausage! My favorite biscuits in RVA. The dayum good biscuit the #1 thing to order. I have family and friends who always go here when they visit just for this specific biscuit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Atmosphere is nice with coffee house vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It does get a little loud so I recommend noise cancelling headphones if you want to get work done.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food comes out pretty quickly and I've never gotten a coffee I didn't like here. I have been on a quest to find locally owned coffee shops and this one did not disappoint. I went to visit my sister and I asked her to take me to her favorite cafe. She recommended Stir Crazy. They have an extensive food and beverage menu for it to be a cafe. They offer breakfast and lunch entrees. I ordered the egg and cheese bagel because my sister recommended it. It was AMAZING! I wish we had one of these in Norfolk. The service there was amazing. Everyone is nice and welcoming. This coffee shopping is buzzing!!! I decided to check this place out on a Friday morning and was blown away by how packed the cafe was. There were people from all walks of life eager to get their hands on a cup of Joe!! This cafe has all kinds of coffee drinks and a sizeable breakfast menu to accompany it! I had a everything bagel that was delicious. Although I really enjoyed the vibe of the coffee shop and the food my interaction with the staff was kind of a bummer. Perhaps they were just really focused on getting the orders out but as a first timer I was looking for a little more interaction from the staff. read more

Just popping in to say that Stir Crazy Cafe has the best gosh darn amazing biscuits in Richmond! Firstly, they are giant. And perfectly crispy on the edges and top with just the most decadent layer upon layer of flakey, buttery goodness. I've been a few times now for the egg, cheese, and sausage biscuit and each time I am completely blown away. The egg is perfectly cooked so there's a bit of jammy yolk in the middle. The sausage is flavorful with just a hint of spice. And there's the melty layer of sharp cheddar. Pro-tip: Add blackberry jam to take it to the next level. They also have delightful coffee beverages and a really yummy looking menu of sandwiches and salads that I keep saying I will try. And a friendly staff and cool neighborhood vibe! read more

I have been there twice and never disappointed. The menu is dynamic and the flavors are well matched. Loved the Blackjack sandwich and the Susie Q bagel. Coffee and specialty drinks are tasty. I love this cute cafe!! I've now been there twice for coffee and while I have had to wait a bit, I've been really happy with my experiences there. I have gotten the iced peppermint mocha both times and it was perfect. The breakfast burrito was so flavorful and filling that it was more than worth the $7 price tag. I've also had a bagel and blue berry muffin and they were lovely. Excited to live pretty close to there and stop in to do work one afternoon at a table or catch up with a friend there. read more

First time at SCC RVA and it's wonderful. We will definitely visit this cafe as often as when we are in RVA. Ordered 2 coffees, 2 muffins (Cherry Garcia and Harvest), and a bagel and lox and the total price was $22 something. Unheard of in Tysons, Northern VA areas. Had to check the cashier if he had included the bagel and lox on the receipt because only 2 coffees and 2 muffins alone would cost that much where we live. The coffees and the food were great and the service was organized and outstanding. I was a bit disappointed that they only offer whole or oat milk, as I was used to having more milk options (like low fat or nonfat). I can't drink whole milk and I'm not a big fan of oat milk. The barista recommended that I try the oat milk and said if I didn't like the drink, they would make me something else. I asked for light oak milk and hoped for the best. My latte was served in layers, so I got a big blast of oat milk in my first sip, but after I mixed my latte, it tasted so much better. The coconut flavor really came through and offset the oat milk flavor. I was really happy with my drink and with the super helpful barista. I'll for sure be coming back!

I would probably ask for the mushrooms to be a little bit more caramelized though. Serving size was filling and the drink was perfectly strong. They have an extensive menu, and I would love to come back to try more dishes! The cafe decor is retro, and it makes the restaurant feel nostalgic. I think it's great for a group hang if you have a large group, too. There was a big group there when I was there and a few smaller groups of people.

It was absolutely incredible in a way I can't even describe. I also got the Thai iced coffee, which tasted as sweet as a typical Thai iced tea, yet in coffee form. Another friend ordered a burger, which arrived overcooked with burnt buns. Overall, everything tasted as though it had been prepared ahead of time and left sitting on a hot plate or reheated in an oven before being served. Nothing tasted freshly made, and the quality simply did not match the reputation or expectations. Sadly, this was a very underwhelming dining experience, and I would not return or recommend it based on our visit.
