Our server was immediately attentive and knew menu variations that weren't listed on the menu: Mom ordered a mimosa and she offered the different juice options. We both went with strawberry kiwi mimosas. They weren't bad, but they weren't good (much less great). There were sports playing on one side and cute animals on the other side of the different walls of tv's. Mom very much enjoyed her view omg the kittens were adorable whenever I turned around. She super enjoyed her chunky monkey pancakes and my biscuits and gravy were delicious! Overall, very satisfied

Love this! The vibes of the diner take you back in time! Food has always been on point, and they're quick to seat you and serve you!

We took my sister visiting from NJ (home of the diner) and she loved it! Had Sunday brunch and our party of 5 were seated quickly, great food and fabulous service!!! Highly recommend!!!

This place is packed--my friends and I stopped by after a night out, and even with the crowd, we only waited about 15 minutes. Not bad! At first glance, the menu prices surprised me (apps cost almost as much as the mains?), but we decided to roll with it. We tried the mozzarella balls to start, and honestly? They were just... fine. No gooey cheese pull, and the flavor didn't wow us. But the entrees made up for it! My friend's Triple Decker pastrami sandwich was a meat lover's dream--super thick and hearty. The real star, though, was Rod's Chicken Sandwich: grilled chicken (they fry it too), bacon, melty cheese, ranch, and veggies on a soft potato bun. It was massive, juicy, and totally worth the hype. I barely finished half! The vibe here feels like a modern diner--retro but not too cheesy. I'm still curious about their pastrami, so I'll probably be back. Pro tip: Skip the apps and go straight for the sandwiches. You won't leave hungry!

A favorite for sure - weekly! I think I've tried everything on that menu by now, thrice over! It's a great spot for whatever time you want - breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They serve breakfast all day so you can now have that cuisine whenever you'd like! Their coffee is good, their service is stellar, and their food is usually pretty on point. I have a soft sport for their soups, especially the Christmas soup - you have GOT to try it before they run out. Orrrrr maybe I should tell you it's awful so there's more for me. It can get loud in there if there are a lot of families with smaller children so be prepared - it's not a refined restaurant that is strict about their volume. The only thing I would recommend is to close the doors and do a deep cleaning and repair for a couple of days. It's so busy there that I'm sure it's the last thing on the owner's mind but I think we regulars would definitely notice and appreciate it!

It was lunch time & we could smell the aroma long before we knew the diner was there. To me it's a very traditional style diner. The staff was very welcoming and even though there was a wait it wasn't as long as they projected. Inside the place is bright & clean. And they seem to have something on the menu for everyone. Our food arrived hot & was just as good as the menu made it sound. I like the option to sub egg whites on the omelets.

Love seeing my hometown specialty on a menu here in Richmond. They even have a breakfast version.

A great diner option for those in the Bon Air/Midlothian area. Even though it was busy (we went on a Sunday morning), we were sat within 10 minutes. We've been here twice and enjoyed the service, atmosphere & food. My husband said the pancakes were amazing, thick and full of flavor. Their home fries are shredded hashbrowns which are my personal favorite. Plenty of parking available and great diner decor. We'll be back!

This used to be a place where you'd have to wait for a table every time, but now the restaurant is half empty and I see why! When I was ordering my food our server was slightly rude & I was taken aback (but you never want someone to spit in your food so I ignored it lol). As I was ordering my food she repeated my wing order to me as she was typing it in, but she did not acknowledge the fact that I asked for all flats so I said all flats again & her response was an "I heard" under her breath which others at my table noticed the rudeness associated with it as well. The wings visibly looked different but fine, however once I started moving them around, I noticed they were dry & chewy like they were over-fried, but normally when I get them they are moist with a slight char from being grilled even tough they are dry rubbed. The loaded baked potato I was a shock to me..a lot more cheese than potato and it was cold. I'm simply very unsatisfied. I took my food home with me & ended up just throwing it all away. They've still got the best blue cheese though, hope that doesn't change! I've got lots of points to use so I'm going to just try a different location & pray. My two times at Short Pump have been better than the last six-eight months at Midlo.

I've followed this brewery on social media for a few months and have noticed their pictures consistently feature pours with an inordinate amount (2-3") of head on them. As someone who absolutely hates foam, I asked up front for no head. The bartender winced and explained they had to pour that way or they'd get in trouble because the ownership "wants the aroma expressed." I was taken aback...not only by the total lack of regard for the customer but for levying that threat against an employee. I was waiting to meet someone somewhere else for dinner, and put aside my disdain and capitulated as I didn't want anyone getting in trouble over a beer. So, I figured I'd make the most of things out on the patio. Alas, you can't take glass out in the patio, only plastic cups. What?!? If this were a college bar on a Friday night, sure - pour into plastic. But happy hour in Midlothian? The bartender did say they could pour no foam for a plastic cup though, which I thought was funny - they're so precious about their beer the foam is mandatory, but yeah, just dump it in plastic for the patio. All in all, a negative experience and one I won't repeat. My advice is to give the customer what they want, don't threaten employees, and eat the cost of a few broken glasses. To be clear: I get the notion of aromas and such, but this isn't Russian River or Alchemist, or even The Veil (none of which have foam mandates). I could even understand if they were busy (I was the only one ordering), but I wouldn't have asked for a longer pour under those circumstances. The beers are average regionals and customer service and good treatment of employees are non-negotiables. I hope ownership sees this and chills out; the person who pays for the beer dictates the pour, not you.

I'm so relieved that none of those traits got left behind at the old location! There's usually a wait, but they now offer outside tables for waiting or dining. So that's a plus. And it's worth the wait. There's a new bar, so one can sit there and enjoy a drink or a meal. That's nice. There's a new (I don't know what to call it) "dessert deli"? Where all the cakes and pastries are on display and for sale. So that trapped us on our way out. :-) And there's a dedicated door for take-out only, so if you order ahead you don't need to swim upstream of the other waiting diners to get in and grab your food, Here's something really innovative: Their parking lot is on the small side. But they are adjacent to acres of parking in the shopping center. So they run a golf cart in a loop, picking up and dropping off diners who park in the satellite lot. Wow! That's service. The restaurant business is tough. And endless number of ways to fail. But the Brick House Diner is doing everything right! PS: In a time when restaurant prices seem to be out of control, BHD is doing a great job keeping prices as low as they can. For the meal I had, I've paid 10 to 25% more at other, similar venues. So, hats off to BHD for cost control!

Catfish was fried really well and was extremely tender. The sauce was so flavorful, but it was very heavy. Both on a holiday of sorts- this past time being Mother's Day. We had come in around 10:45am so we could get seated for lunch a little earlier than their lunch crowds would appear. They gave us an estimated wait time of 15 minutes. That being said- we waited 45 minutes to be seated. They were 'transferring' from breakfast to lunch (never heard of a restaurant doing that before) and did not seat anybody within that 45 minutes. They had people coming in and getting added to their list, gave them 15-30 minute wait times but then proceeded to not seat anyone else that arrived until way past the timeframes given. Once it hit 11:30 they decided to start seating everyone. And I mean everyone. They definitely did not spread out the timing of the seating so the servers they had were overwhelmed. As someone who has previous experience in the restaurant industry I know this backs up both the kitchen and the servers when doing this. So that being said- we waited for a long time at the end of our meal for the server to check in on us, give us boxes, and provide our check. I will NEVER be going back, I don't care how good their food was. The service was garbage. The manager had given us a coupon for our 'next visit' but I am not going to waste my time.
