Brunch with my friend for catch.......new spot we wanted to try. The Espresso Martini is their own version, do with that what you wish. The food, not impressed the bacon so salty we couldn't eat it. I gave my eggs away, potatoes were delicious. Pancake was thin and taste gluten free slightly, no flavor. Crab cake- look like a brown muffin but it was good flavorful. Would come back for that alone. Service: there was a wait so we took the bar. The food took a while to come out Ambiance: very cute for content creators, decor for the season.

Maybe it was just today but almost everything was off. They said chefs didn't show up so expect a long wait for food. Then they were out of biscuits, croissants and other food. I ordered the Benedict. When it arrived on a weird roll like a hamburger bun the egg was undercooked and while the ham slice was big it just didn't taste very good as a combination. The people I was with also reported the food didn't taste great today.

Very friendly staff. Wife's chicken Benedict (Queen Mary) was quite good. I'm a bit of a Benedict connoisseur; I had the regular Benedict. First of all, when Benedict is in the very name of the restaurant, you expect a pretty epic Benedict. It was good, but not a "top Benedict" to my palate. The ham was very salty as opposed to a Canadian Bacon style. The eggs were over-poached. The hollandaise makes or breaks a Benedict dish. It was OK; personally, I prefer some paprika (I saw none) and a bit more lemon. Overall, a bit more boldness is preferred in my hollandaise. The biscuit it was served on was good. For coffee style drinks, this place only has coffee. As a breakfast joint, they need to invest in a high-end Italian espresso machine to make legit coffees, espressos, cappuccinos, latte drinks, etc. My coffee was served in a dirty (lipstick stained) cup. I spun it 180 to drink from the other side. They also have bar drinks that look good. My wife had a bloody mary that was fine. The policy is an automatic 20% gratuity added to all checks. That's OK, but staff should tell you. I saw it on the menu. It's on the receipt, but if you're not paying attention, you could accidentally tip 40-45%. They made no mention of it. I NEVER add additional tip in such cases if the server does not tell me. If they do, I add 5-7% additional depending on the level of service. Overall... It was just alright. About 3 1/2 stars.

Sister and cousin brunch date for the win on Sunday! Cute vibe and amazing customer service @thebenedictrva (great choice Sis). Catching up over some pretty good food, I opted for their traditional breakfast where you can choose from a variety of proteins, sides and bread. My combination just slaps lol: scrambled eggs, thick cut bacon, potatoes and a toasted buttered biscuit (they had packs of apple butter ). Everything was prepared and seasoned well: 4.3/5. Definitely recommend this spot!

Wow! This place is awesome! Perfect location to my hotel (courtyard), Callen was an awesome person with lots of personality and friendly! Cool vibes and amazing food! The traditional eggs Benedict is packed with flavor and plenty of portions! The corn beef hash is delicious! Definitely worth checking out!

Best brunch experience in a while! New restaurants can sometimes be hit or miss but the Benedict definitely impressed my friends and I. The host sat us quickly and Avery our server was awesome. I had the garden party and my friends had other prosecco cocktails. Everyone loved them and they were so reasonably priced. I ate the seaside salmon cakes which were delicious. My friends had the catfish Benedict, French toast and the build your own breakfast. One friend ordered a side of bacon which prompted another to order it too. They couldn't get over the thickness. Can't wait to come back and try the chicken sandwich. Gratuity included but well deserved.

We had no clue this restaurant recently opened up about 2 weeks ago, we found it on tiktok. We came during brunch hours and it wasnt a long wait, but I believe they close at 3 so don't get there too late. The food was really good and the drink I ordered, added shot of tequila, was good. Me: "OH THIS IS LICKAAA!" Lol. Only two things for feedback, possibly work on increasing volume of the music because they had some hits but it wasn't really easy to hear and the menu for BYOB meat options, possibly add (+$5) next to the options that ate an up-charge. But I recommend this establish and they're Black Woman owned!!!

Just visited the new Benedict on Cary, brought to you by the owners of MaryLous and Black Olive and I have to tell you about the two stars of the brunch show for me. The whole vibe is bright and welcoming, but listen...the menu is stacked with lots of delicious options but in the spirit of not over doing it lol I settled on a classic. Star number one: BYO breakfast sandwich with the most incredible thick-cut bacon. So good. The biscuit on this sandwich was so buttery and fluffy, it practically melted in my mouth. The Monte Cristo was different but tasty. We had fried potatoes as a side but they were more like scalloped potatoes and not my favorite. And star number two? The vanilla espresso martini. It is the perfect brunch cocktail. If you get two things, get those. Great service and definitely worth adding to your brunch list! Go check them out y'all!

This was my first time coming in today and I absolutely will be back! For starters the ambiance was so cute! Festive for the holiday season and very cozy. The $10 mimosas were beyond worth it for a deep glass of deliciousness. Out server Erin was the absolute best, she made the experience EVERYTHING and more. She even gave me recommendations on her favorite drinks and entrees which made ordering so easy. The creole sauce was phenomenal. 10/10 experience & will be back ‼

We went to The Benedict for the first time this morning. It wasn't crowded and there wasn't a wait. The decor was cute and bright. The coffee was delicious, not at all bitter. The food was incredible. This was the biggest bacon I have ever seen. The very picky 12 year old would highly recommend, (she asked to return), and she's hard to please.

Did not get to get to the food. The creamer they brought us for our coffee had mold in it. After that we immediately left the restaurant.

They offer a variety of sauces and flavors that really elevate the seafood and make the experience feel unique and interactive. It was such a fun meal to share, comparing each bite and talking through all the different flavors. The service was excellent. Our waitress was knowledgeable about everything we ordered and made great recommendations. The atmosphere is just as impressive. The decor is simple but thoughtfully elevated, and sitting at the bar area feels like you have stepped out of Richmond and into somewhere like New York City. I also love following Lillian on social media to keep up with their latest specials. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves seafood.

Hats off to the staff at Lillian who continue to be wonderful, but now that they have scrapped…read moretheir dollar oyster lunch specials, the food has absolutely nothing to offer. Like too many restaurants in the Scott's Addition area, this is seafood cooked without finesse and then absolutely brutalized with absurd amounts of palate fatiguing, brash, loud flavors. Every item on the menu endeavors to conceal mediocrity in the quality and handling of the ingredients with explosive, overwhelming additives meant to shock you into submission. Things like black garlic and chili oil, raw garlic, sesame seed oil, and punishing heat are inescapable on the menu, which really says to me loud and clear "we do not understand the appeal of seafood, and might have a fundamental misunderstanding about good food in general." I don't exaggerate when I say these dishes would be improved (setting aside things like inability to properly cook octopus) by scaling back the flavors to 5-10% the loudness level they are currently at, to let the ingredients speak, and to make the dining experience less of a punishing marathon with no relief. I have had much subtler and more skillfully balanced dishes at Indian and Thai restaurants, cuisines known for strong flavor profiles. I'm through listening to these Richmond restaurants trying to excuse simply bad food by claiming "that's the nature of the cuisine." In this case, Lillian claims that dishes characterized by these cacophonous competing flavors is "South American." No it isn't - the person conceptualizing the dishes is just a bad chef who doesn't know what he's doing, and at the prices Lillian charges, that's inexcusable. Drowning every dish in flavors that overwhelm the palate is not a way to respect your ingredients or your diner, and only communicates youth and insecurity. Anyone who's eaten widely and knows their ingredients will rightly feel assaulted and insulted by this overpriced, unskilled fare. To anyone who decides to go anyway: Good luck with the digestive distress, and with the taste that will still be left over in your mouth the next morning, no matter how much you brush your teeth.

To get in, you must know the password or tell the host a joke that makes him laugh. We were escorted in and quickly noticed that this was more than a speakeasy-it was a full restaurant. We stopped in for drinks, but it was nice to have tapas. I got the popcorn with the Tequilla lime butter, which was the perfect balance of salt. I had a mezcal drink which was perfect! I'm such a fan of mezcal and am excited when I see it on the menu. Our waitress was a delight-super attentive and also a bartender so she was able to answer all of our drink questions. It was very spacious with outdoor seating. Definitely a 10/10 experience. I would definitely go again!

He asked for the password and we, unprepared, had to tell him a joke or an interesting fact. Luckily, my partner had one on hand. The atmosphere was lovely, very reminiscent of a 1920s speakeasy, or at least what you'd imagine it to be like. Our server came by within a few minutes of us being seated. She lacked enthusiasm, unlike the host, unfortunately. Her service turned out to be lackluster as well. We ordered the chicken pot pie and the filet mignon with asparagus. For drinks, the Grape Gatsby and Maine root beer. The food, like our server, lacked appeal. The saving grace was the host and the atmosphere. The view was lovely and the intimacy of the setting was a welcome experience. For dessert we ordered the bread pudding, and it was tasty, though nothing special. The burned odor that we smelled prior to its arrival turned out to be the bread. I can recommend Grandstaff and Stein as an experience, but you should not expect much in the way of culinary delights or exemplary service. We probably won't be back, but if you've never been, it's worth trying at least once.
