10/10!!! Great food and great customer service! I went in this morning, after researching "breakfast near me" on google, I was way too lazy to make breakfast myself and really wanted a diner like omelet. It was my first time, so finding KAT'S was a little different since it's inside an office building , I kinda wish they had an off street entrance but either way the front desk lead me to the right spot. First off the customer service is awesome! As soon as I walked in I was immediately greeted by staff, it's an open kitchen style diner so everyone can see you walk in, the young lady at the register was so sweet and my breakfast was literally ready not even ten minutes after I sat down to wait. Now the FOOD!! I ordered a meat omelet with home fries and a coffee, the meat omelet was very filling but not too much, definitely a nice balance of everything (bacon,ham,sausage,cheese). The home fries were more square potatoes but still very well seasoned and not bland at all. I'm so excited to finally find a breakfast spot near me, less than five minutes away that's actually what I've been looking for! I was excited to try a new place near work but was disappointed after arriving back to my office to see how small the salad was and they forgot the dressing and the bacon! After walking .5 miles one way, I wasn't about to go back just for the dressing. Overall disappointed. read more

The place is okay, but definitely not worth a second visit. They charge an extra $1.25 per item that has eggs in it, eggs have come down over 70% in price, so no excuse. You don't want to eat undercooked eggs, but cooking the omelet until it's brown is ridiculous, service seemed friendly, but was with attitude, they were not busy when I was there, and as others said, the tables were greasy.its a small place inside a downtown high rise, but adequate as it appeared most of their business was to go. If they don't keep the public area clean, it leads to wonder what the cleanliness of the prep and food areas are. I personally will not eat here again, there are plenty of other places close by to choose from. read more

Love this place so so much! I'm so sad that I only found it weeks before moving out of richmond. They are located inside of a building which was a bit confusing but not too hard to find since it's right at the corner once you walk in. The workers were super sweet and helpful, especially (I assume) the owner who recommended some items for my boyfriend and I since we're first timers. The inside was small but just enough and the customers all seemed to be regulars who adore this place as well! I ordered the pesto chicken sandwich and my boyfriend ordered the french toast platter special. The two of those with an iced tea were only around $25!? The food came out relatively fast and to my surprise, HUGE. The chicken pesto sandwich was super juicy and flavorful! I was worried the ciabatta would be too hard to chew but bread was also very soft. The french toast platter also took me by surprise. The french toast platter came with 2 eggs, 2 choices of meat, and 2 french toasts. The eggs were a bit greasy in my opinion but the french toast was amazing. I've had many french toast and this was one of the best in RVA that i've had! It was super flavorful-- you could taste the cinnamon, vanilla, AND it wasn't soggy. So sad I found this place so late but will def be back if i'm ever in the area! read more

Stopped in for breakfast on a weekday morning. It's s little tricky to find, tucked inside of an office building. There is no direct exterior entrance. Cafe style interior was clean, bright and decorated with amusing animal artwork. My family enjoyed the French toast, monte Cristo and a breakfast taco special. Everything tasted great and came out pretty quickly. The monte cristo was such a neat sandwich, I should have taken a pic. Staff was friendly, place had a good vibe. Pricing not unreasonable for a city. Only downside was no chocolate milk for my son. I'd had a very busy morning and was in the city and decided to Google a few options for breakfast. I saw KATs being close to my location. I called to place an order for pick up. I ordered the 701 combo and I swapped the bacon for scrambled eggs and of course I added cheese! First of all the sourdough french toast was better than I could have imagined. The right amount of chew and tenderness with every bite. It was dusted with powdered sugar but I had some hazelnut spread at home that I added to it and LAWD HAVE MERCY, BUSSIN' LOL The fried apples were a nice treat and complemented the french toast as well. Simply seasoned and cooked very nicely. I also had a side of home fries, they were okay too. I was satisfied overall. They offer a vast sauce selection too! Came in just behind a crowd so we had a short wait but the staff were very friendly and the place is bright and clean. The breakfast options are excellent; I envy the office staff in the building. We tried the Breakfast Lunch burger, Cajun fries, cheese grits, Apple Butter Melt, and Breakfast Cristo. Everything tasted excellent. I loved the Cristo and my sons worked their way down the hot sauce wall as we ate our food. Most yummy food! Me and the husband shared food. The french toast is as good as the best this old lady has even. The gravy biscuit had its own unique fresh herb deliciousness. Over easy eggs eere cooked perfect and you must have the spiced apples. I was expecting something out of the can or something soaked in syrup too sweet to eat.
