    Skillet cornbread
    Mike ..

We arrived around 8pm and parked on 6th and Broad with two open spots out front. We walked in through the Marriott front entrance and were greeted by a kind and enthusiastic host who seated us promptly. We had our pick of high-tops or traditional seating and chose a booth (the superior choice IMO). The ambiance and atmosphere felt modern and classic with a touch of ostentatious flair (the bird mural and columns up front were gorgeous). I prefer a curated menu and Fall Line keeps it simple. There are options for most people here. We ordered the skillet cornbread to start. C'est magnifique. We ordered from the sharables menu: the barrata, grilled cauliflower, and burnt ends. The barrata was the clear winner, followed by the cornbread. The burnt ends tasted fantastic, yet were too fatty to enjoy fully. Some constructive feedback: The cauliflower was a major disappointment; it needed additional time on the grill and more sauce to boot. I felt the barrata should have included one extra pair of crustinis. The apricot mostarda was divine, though. They don't carry a sour beer, so my partner and I did not partake. All in all, Fall Line Kitchen was a lovely experience, and our server Satya was a pleasure as well. As we exited, the kind host offered to take our picture in front of the light-wrapped columns. What a gentleman. I definitely recommend bringing a date here to enjoy the cozy, intimate setting, as you gaze lovingly into one anothers eyes, take in the exceptional views, and experience all that its surroundings offer.

Nice! I'll keep it short as I stopped in for a quick decaf coffee + crème brulee before bed and the Fall Line was the perfect pitstop. Our server was kind and dessert and coffee came out quickly. Cheers!

    Cokee cokee

I've been to Fall Line twice. Once on Thanksgiving 2022 and also earlier this week with a couple of friends. My friend booked a regular reservation not realizing that the Fall Line Express, their holiday pop-up, had its own reservation link. We asked if we could move into it, and they said no, even as I was looking at Open Table and saw a reservation slot open that I could book for 20 minutes later. Our server told us that it wasn't accurate and to disregard it. Later on we popped inside to peek and it was half empty, so I feel like ultimately she just didn't want to move us. Regardless, the food we had was pretty tasty, on par with somewhere like Burton's, I'd say. My friends had short rib and harvest salad, and they both seemed to enjoy them. The short rib I heard was very heavy on mushrooms. I ordered the burnt ends app with a side of fries. Both were good. We also had some drinks - I chose the cokee cokee, a Puerto Rican eggnog, which was just okay. They were out of the chocolate cocktail when we tried to order that, so we opted to go on elsewhere for another round. For both visits, this week and 2022, I made sure to order their gooey butter cake. It is so stupidly good -- hands down the best thing on their menu. Don't make a trip to Fall Line without ordering that. I'd honestly go back just for that dessert and a glass of wine sometime. To be clear, their holiday pop-up IS the bar area and mostly closed off from view in the regular dining room, so you'll definitely need to book it to get a seat. It was much more festive looking, as the dining room was pretty dark with a lone Christmas tree. Once we popped into the pop-up, a kind server offered to take our picture with the backdrop and ensured we had the best lighting -- above and beyond! They also had a cute little self-service photo booth area that we took advantage of. Also of note, the restrooms are pretty far away from the restaurant, past hotel check in and the escalator, tucked away. This wasn't a cheap visit, and it probably won't be first in line for a return visit for me, but I enjoyed myself enough for a Monday evening during the holidays. Edit - note to management: If you're going to use AI responses, at least try to remove an em-dash or two. So cringey.

The Fall Line is a bar and restaurant located in the Marriott Richmond. I've dined here for breakfast, dinner and had drinks at the bar area. Service is pleasantly attentive and very friendly here, both at the bar, within the restaurant and from the host. It's a cozy atmosphere and prices are surprising reasonable for a hotel restaurant. The avocado toast was deliciously prepared. Nicely seasoned, not garlicky, crunchy today. Really good spread of avocado. I got some perfect over easy eggs with it too. The mixed berries was a small portion, but they were fresh. Coffee is good here - seemed better than the Starbucks nearby. My server was super attentive and it was overall a great breakfast experience. At the bar and lounge, drinks were poured with heavy hands and didn't disappoint! Plenty of bourbons to try here! Overall, this is a great place to check out for food and drinks.

Booked a reservation on Open table and they wouldn't honor it. Host and hostess were incredibly rude and turned us away.

Foot happy hour. The fritters are delish. Perfect for a staycation as it's in a hotel and the vibe is super cute. The ambiance is great. The happy hour is only at the bar but you can get service to the surrounding tables.

Unfriendly and unprofessional. We arrived on a warm, beautiful October Monday during lunch time (12 pm). Their patio outside had the heater going on (with a flame in the middle). Yet they told us the patio was not open and our dog was not welcome. We researched online before coming here. That waiter was clearly lazy and lying. He could have easily accommodated us. Why did they turn that heater on outside? Just to waste energy? Perfectly nice patio right there, and we were turned away.

I tried the double cheeseburger off the late night menu. It came with fries. It was actually really tasty. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend adding wings to the late night menu (it's a bar and wings and the bar go together like milk and cereal) The ambience of the bar is nice and mature. I would eat here again. I think the price point for the late night menu is reasonable.

First time here. Started with a cocktail in the Lobby( it is in the Marriott property). Went to the hostess and was offered a seat in the middle of the restaurant. Nobody there at 5 pm on a Saturday. Uh.... Can I sit somewhere else? So I thought... this will be interesting. Once seated I was greeted by Jada. Ordered a cocktail and the crab hush puppies. Oh my they were delicious. Generous portion . On to the main course... Shrimp and Grits. I must say... the Grits were some of the best I've had. Creamy, corn and jalapeños. Just a tad of a bite. Wonderful. Service was wonderful and I would absolutely return.

    Beef Bolognese Rigatoni
    Matthew V.

I ordered the Beef Bolognese at Fall Line Kitchen & Bar and overall, it was a solid choice. The dish came out fast and was plated nicely, with rigatoni cooked just right. The sauce was rich and hearty, but I found myself wishing it had a bit more depth, maybe a touch of spice or a bolder flavor profile to really make it pop. Still, it was comforting and satisfying, and the portion size was generous. If you're in the mood for something classic and filling, it gets the job done. I had to order a dash of chili flakes on the side.

Free valet parking for the restaurant which was great as I had to circle a few times restaurant before to find parking. Walked in greeted and seated immediately . I can't remember my waitress name but as busy as she was tending tables and being a bartender, she checked on me the whole time. The guy pictured nor once stopped at my table but I did see him stop at everyone else's and thought that was strange. Either way I was only here for a festive cocktail and appetizer and I got what I wanted. Not over the top Christmas decor but still felt very festive, elegant with dim lighting and sparkly lights! Add to your list of Christmas stops !

We visit the bar to experience their Newly pop-up bar attached to the Marriott hotel in Richmond VA this is a perfect attraction for those that are visiting Richmond for the holidays and want to experience the Polar express with a dine in experience featuring a photo booth area to take photos with photo props and this pop-up bar is a good spot for all my Polar express fans as well as anybody that loves to go to any Christmas theme bar. This was honestly one of my favorite that I've been to so far and honestly very quiet very elevated in a way where you get everything you want and experience wise we did go on a slower day, which was on Mondays, but they did say that other days are busier depending on the day that you go. reservations are all available on OpenTable from all of November up until January 4th just choose the fall line experience on the app and it'll prompt you a $20 deposit is required to make a reservations prior to the day you choose, and this deposit will be applied to your total bill and the maximum party that can attend is a party of four people. They also have a valet voucher for anybody that parts in the garage that's attached to the hotel where they will cover the cost for you so this was an extra bonus to the experience of us traveling far out and made the trip even more delightful. Walking in the staff was very nice and friendly and informative in regards of the layout and what we would expect as well as when we got seated we were greeted with golden tickets like the polar express and our server was very in theme of the pop-up bar and very helpful of guide us through the night. And he explained to us in regards of their menu, and how each drink that we chose from the menu the bar cart will be part of the experience, which I thought that was a very fun way to bring the highlight of the theme where she did come with a cart where she prepared our drinks and actually explained to us each part of the drink where it made from and the drink I choose was mistletoe mule there was one ingredient that the manager handcrafted just for this menu item and it had a light smooth taste and it pair well with the burger that honestly a really good burger and classic with fries of course. They do allow you to get food off the dinner menu as well if you want to eat dinner it's not limit or separate just the fall line express menu is separate and it's only served during dinner the hours for the experience is fri-sat 5-11pm and Sun-Thurs 5-10pm. We also had a good time at there photo area where they had a cute setup that included props and hats to add the fun in the photos. And of course the tickets were extra keepsake to take home to remember a good trip. And they also offer you a greeting card that you can put in a letter box to be sent out to your loved one which brings the Christmas spirit alive. I would recommend this place if you want to experience a pop up bar that's brings classic movies to light and showcase the experience from start to finish. Definitely will be back again before the holidays ends.

Are there any kids menu items?

They didn't have a written menu, but offered us some kid friendly items. My daughter (7) decided to go with the French Onion soup and I shared some of my app and entree with her, so can't speak to the quanity or quality of the kids menu items, but…

    Are reservations required?

Is their a specific dress code? I know it's an upscale restaurant but just want to be sure. Thanks in advance for any responses.

No, there isn't. It's a nice spot so I wanted to look casually nice personally when I visited.

Soon after we. Ordered the octopus and mussel appetizers a storm came in and the rain fell pretty hard. Our choices were to run back to the hotel or stay and dine huddled under an umbrella. Being a little wet with beverages and good food seemed the better option so we ordered more food. The octopus was great. I have tried it prepared many ways and here it was both tender and flavorful, really done well. Shrimp cocktail is usually pretty basic, but often the simplest dishes demonstrate the most skill. This is truly one of the best I have ever had. The shrimp were plump and flavorful. Their cooking stopped at just the right time leaving a slight bit of translucent hue, but still cooked through. Very nicely done. The salad with home ranch was dressed nicely and the dressing was light. The scallops were cooked well and perhaps my only criticism is that the corn purée was better in concept than execution. I can't say enough about the staff. We were two people on a Sunday night crazy enough to dine in a downpour. The staff never made us feel like they wanted to punch out, embraced us being outside and were creative in waiting on us with umbrellas to keep the food from getting wet. It would have been understandable for them to limit the trips to check on us, but they persevered and made us feel welcome. If you are in the area, highly recommended stopping by, rain or shine, and sampling their menu. Nicely done.

Upon entering, I was reminded of a 1950s pharmacy by the humongous "Prescriptions" sign hanging above the bar, and the antique furniture, bar, and barstools splayed throughout Tarrant's. There was a solid crowd at the bar; it's clear there is a regular crowd that sits and hangs out here. We were promptly seated by a young blonde woman in the dining section (behind the bar). Our server, Nadia, was an enchanting brunette, training another young server, Sierra. She took our drink orders and gave us plenty of time to review the menu, checking in after a few minutes to see if we were ready. We finally decided, my partner ordered the 10" Bianca White (pizza), and I chose the Sailor Sandwich. Unfortunately, the sailor was not in the cards for me, and Nadia suggested the Reuben as they were similar. They brought out breadsticks while we waited, and the food arrived within 10-15 minutes. I was pleased with the atmosphere, the old-fashioned chandeliers, the large mirror, the floral paintings, and the rustic frames, all of which added to the restaurant's stated aesthetic. The pizza was hot and savory, while the Reuben had buttery toast, crispy corned beef, and a light smattering of sauerkraut (TBH, I didn't even notice the sauerkraut). For dessert, we indulged in the upside-down walnut apple pie, served with vanilla ice cream, all made from scratch, and beautifully delicate. Our time at Tarrant's Cafe seemed like a stroll into the past; the only indication of modernity was the ordering kiosk used by the staff. We truly enjoyed our time and had deeply meaningful conversations without enduring the hustle and bustle or the rowdy cacophony of an intense crowd.

When they learned we were celebrating our anniversary, they surprised us with warm bread and house-made herbed butter on the house, a thoughtful touch that set the tone for the evening. We started with the Lamb Lollipops and the Slow-Braised Pork Belly, and both were exceptional. The flavors were rich, balanced, and incredibly well executed. Every bite was cooked to perfection and left us excited for the next course. My spouse had the Bone-In Pork Rib Chop with roasted peaches, haricot verts, roasted poblano cornbread, and pickled peach mustard. This dish was absolutely phenomenal. Every component complemented the others beautifully. The sweetness of the peaches, the slight tang of the mustard, the savory pork, and the cornbread all came together in a way that felt thoughtful and perfectly balanced. It wasn't just delicious, it was memorable. To finish, we shared the Mascarpone Cheesecake with oat and almond crumble and summer berry ice cream. Heavenly doesn't even begin to describe it. It was light, creamy, and decadent without being overly sweet. Combined with the crumble and berry ice cream, it was the perfect ending to an incredible meal. Every single bite we had seemed to melt in our mouths. The quality of the ingredients, the attention to detail, and the flawless execution were evident in every dish. If you're looking for a restaurant that delivers exceptional food, outstanding service, and a truly special dining experience, The Stables at Belmont should be at the top of your list. We can't wait to return.

Serving portions are more than enough and the starters could be eaten as a meal. We went for a date night without a reservation and ate at the bar. The bartender, Zach was really in his element. He made the experience even better. Wonderful experience. We will be back every season to see the changing menu options.

The food won't necessarily blow your socks off-- however it is consistently good, a lot of vegan/gluten free/etc options, lots of cocktail and beer options, and even the pickiest of eaters could find something they enjoy there. Our waiter this last time was outstanding. I noticed on their menu they also have specials including Thursdays where they do a hot chicken sandwich and beer for a cheaper price. They also have a solid happy hour.

It's a very popular restaurant, so today, when we entered, while we were greeted right away, there was a 30 minute wait. The time actually went by relatively fast, and by the time we were seated, large cups of ice water were already there at our table, as well as a carafe to refill them. There's no physical menus, instead you scan a QR code which brings you to their menu. They have lots of drink options, including several specialty cocktails, beers, and ciders. Our waiter was super sweet and attentive, and the food came out relatively quickly. For my drink, I ordered a local cider from a Virginia ciderie, as well as the It's A Wrap, which has cheddar, ranch, mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, peppers, and your choice of protein (I got tofu). I also got a side of the Mac and cheese, which I could tell was made in house. Super creamy and flavorful with a hint of spice. My wrap was also insanely good! I'm impressed by the amount of vegetarian options here. Any burger can be made both gluten free or vegan, and the choices of protein make it more accessible for everyone who comes in. I'm really happy we were recommended this place!
