My buddy and I stopped by Granite Grill on a Wednesday evening during Fourth of July week, and despite being packed, the experience was outstanding from start to finish. There were only a couple of tables available, but they were clearly well staffed. We were greeted immediately at the door, and it was obvious there were multiple managers on the floor making sure everything was running smoothly. The ambiance struck the perfect balance--upscale yet approachable. It felt polished without being stuffy or overly formal. The lighting was just right, creating a comfortable atmosphere for dinner, and they offered a nice selection of beverages and cocktails. The food absolutely delivered. My friend ordered the Cobb salad with fried chicken. The chicken was perfectly cooked and lightly breaded--not overly heavy at all. His only suggestion would be swapping the mustard-based dressing for something brighter, like a lemon or citrus vinaigrette, since it competed a bit with the blue cheese crumbles. I ordered the Mediterranean Bowl with shrimp, and it was fantastic. A small detail that made a surprisingly big impression: the shrimp tails had already been removed! It's such a simple thing, but not having to stop and pick tails off while eating made the meal that much more enjoyable. The dish was perfectly balanced and delicious exactly as served--I wouldn't change a thing. My martini was also expertly made. No notes there either. The restaurant attracted a friendly, well-dressed crowd, adding to the overall experience without feeling pretentious. It's also easy to find, located on the corner of the shopping center with Trader Joe's and Planet Fitness. Granite Grill exceeded my expectations, and I'll definitely be back. We had a late lunch on a Sunday which was a great time to visit. Every other time I've been it's been mobbed! It's a beautiful space and very quiet while we were there which was important to my party. Everyone was very happy with their starters and meals. We ordered the Beet Salad, hush puppies and a few side salads to start. Main dishes ordered were the Mediterranean salad - my uncle practically licked the plate, the Hanger steak was perfectly cooked as were the crab cakes and burger. I had the salmon salad and it was the perfect size. The lemon dressing was delicious too...not too tart. We finished with the brownie sundae and it was so good. The perfect ending. First timers and thankfully we made a reservation for four persons..arrived early and had no problems. Ambiance and restaurant layout was top notch. Our server was Allie(?) and she was spectacular, offered a lot of great suggestions and really knew the menu. We started with the spinach n artichoke dip with chips...wow this was amazing and portion was perfect. Between the four of us we had the Hanger steak, wedge salad with grilled chicken, pesto pasta and last was the cajun pasta. All the entrees were top notch, Thank You Chef. After wanting to try this place because of the recent social media hype, I was finally able to visit. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the waiter was very attentive, making sure I had everything I needed. I started with a New York Sour and the crab dip. The New York Sour was okay, but the crab dip was amazing and easily the best thing I had all evening. The foam and wine on top of the drink were overpowering at first, but the flavors felt more balanced toward the end. For my entrée, I ordered the crab cakes, which were under-seasoned and had an unusual breading/crust that isn't typical for that dish. The remoulade also had an odd flavor, and the mixed vegetables were not good at all. I actually ended up asking for fries instead. The fries came out hot but definitely needed salt. My partner got the fish sandwich, which was disappointing because the breading was soggy. I ended with the sticky toffee pudding, which was just okay, much like the rest of the experience. What a stunning restaurant! We came here for my mom's birthday lunch as a group of six. It was easy to make a reservation online. This spot has incredible service. We had the kindest and most attentive servers. They were beyond charming and very patient with all the requests. I wish I could rate this spot higher because I loved the service and atmosphere, but they might have been having an off day for food. Maybe my expectations were too high. I started my meal with the rosa spritz which was ok. I loved my fiancé's gimlet. Our tabled shared the hush puppies, which came with a very yummy honey butter. Two people got the Mediterranean bowl at my table which was underwhelming. My fiancé got the fried chicken sandwich. Unfortunately, it felt crunchy in an old way. We both had fries with our meals which were stale. My burger was fine. The main courses we got were not what I was hoping based on other reviews. However, I think it might've just been an off day. Decided to try this place out with my wife a couple weeks ago. Service was great, vibes were great as well. We had our baby with us and the staff was very accommodating. Our service was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable of the menu. I appreciated our server and his answers to our questions. However, the kitchen service and food was sadly short of impressive. We had a party of 6 and despite all ordering together, our food came out in very random batches ~10 minutes apart. Those of us that got our food first were encouraged to start eating instead of waiting for the others, so we did. I ordered the Pesto Chicken Pasta and was thoroughly impressed with the portion size. Unfortunately, though, it came out lukewarm temperature at best. It must have been sitting out for quite some time before it even got to our table. And the sauce, though flavorful, was extremely thin and watery. My fiancé got the ribs and shared some with me, and while we both enjoyed them, I found them to also be lukewarm, borderline cold. I can't help but wonder if our food had been prepped too quickly and ended up sitting for too long, so they had to make the call to serve it despite the other half of our table not receiving their food at the same time. The first few dishes did come out rather fast. I think this just points to a KOT issue- whoever the Expeditor is may need to revisit their process! Normal kinks of any newish restaurant! Overall, my experience was just fine. The food was good, our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable, and the restaurant itself was clean and well designed. WOW. That's really all I can say. I went in with fairly high expectations, knowing the owners also run Tazza and Conejo. I also gave them some grace since they only just opened last Friday and I expected there might be a few hiccups. Instead, the entire experience was a solid 10/10. :) My husband and I went for a date night and made a reservation about nine days in advance. We're so glad we did -- the place was absolutely packed, and there was definitely a long wait for anyone without a reservation. Thankfully, as soon as we walked in and spoke to the hostess, we were seated right away. Our server, Grayson, was incredibly sweet and offered great recommendations, including the hush puppies and the calamari. Both were SO delicious. The calamari was coated in cornmeal with the perfect crunch, and the hush puppies were well-seasoned, light, and doughy on the inside. They really reminded us of the kind you'd get further down South. We also shared a side Caesar salad, which was the perfect size for two and honestly one of the best Caesars in the city. It wasn't overdressed, the sourdough croutons were clearly fresh, crisp lettuce, and the Parmesan on top was just chef's kiss. For our entrées, I ordered the chicken pesto pasta and my husband got the ribs. The pesto pasta was a 12/10. It's not something I usually order, but I saw someone nearby get it, it looked amazing, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The real star of the night, though, was the house baby back ribs. The sauce, the bark, the tenderness of the meat, the way it just falls off the bone -- unreal. Neither of us would normally think to order ribs here, and now we're so glad we did. Please try them. Granite Grill has been on my list, and we finally made it! They opened about three-ish weeks ago, and if you love Tazza or Conejo, you'll definitely enjoy Granite Grill since it's their sister restaurant. Totally different concept, but the flavors were on point and we all thoroughly enjoyed everything. I was honestly shocked by how *big* the space is. There's a very spacious bar area with both bar seating and tables. The main dining room is large too, and we ended up in the side room with about eight tables and a TV -- there's even a door you can close off, which would make it perfect for a private party. The vibe gives a little "Southbound," but with more of a true grill feel. **Drinks:** We tried the Bourbon Old Fashioned, Black Manhattan, Mojito, and Blackberry Mojito -- all tasty and well made. **Starters:** We ordered the warm crab dip, which reminded me of the wontons at Dippers. Loved that they give you *enough* dippers so you're not left asking for more (a huge pet peeve of mine!). **Mains:** * North Carolina Rainbow Trout * Chicken Pesto Pasta (they make their own pasta!) * Kids' Cheeseburger (amazing char -- made the adults consider ordering a burger too) * Kids' Spaghetti Everyone enjoyed their meals, no complaints at all. **Dessert:** We wanted the full experience, so we stayed for dessert -- even though we joked about heading to Gelati Celesti or grabbing something from Trader Joe's instead. Honestly, so impressed by this establishment. We needed a last minute dinner option on our way back home after a very long weekend and road trip. We were welcomed in without a reservation and with warm smiles. All staff were so nice and generous. I chose the clarified strawberry martini- so freaking good! We each opted for the Salmon, trout and Mediterranean bowl. Everyone licked their plates clean. We left talking about how fantastic it was and lucky we live so close by. The main dining area is very pretty. The patio is lovely with lots of potted plants and overhead fans. Our server was Ben and he was a friendly, professional server. We were well attended by him but other servers will help out, too. It's nice to feel like all servers are watching for any customers needs. The food was really wonderful. The Tempura Cauliflower was served hot and crispy with a tasty dipping sauce of curried yogurt. It was so good that I would recommend that as an entree to any vegetarian. The spicy Marg which was also delicious and the granite mule. For appetizer, we got the calamari. The calamari was a little too crispy but still good. The house remoulade was INCREDIBLE. While we didn't have reservations, the hostess was quick to find a seat for us which we were very appreciative of. We started with the crab dip app and had a glass of wine and beer. The crab dip was full of big hunks of crab. Very delicious! For our entrees we had the grilled chicken sandwich and their crispy fish sandwich. Both were really good and very flavorful. The cosmopolitan was perfectly balanced--tart and smooth with just the right amount of sweetness, served ice-cold in a proper martini glass. The sangria was equally impressive, brimming with fresh fruit in a well-crafted blend that was neither too sweet nor overpowering. They were thoughtfully prepared by the bartenders. Appetizers Worth Savouring- The Warm Crab Dip arrived bubbling hot, with generous portions of lump crab meat folded into a creamy, perfectly seasoned base. Served with crispy, house-made chips. It disappeared embarrassingly quickly. The Southern Fried Shrimp were a revelation--light, crispy coating that stayed crunchy without being greasy, revealing plump, perfectly cooked shrimp inside. The accompanying remoulade and cocktail sauce options were great complements. We were thrilled that it was served with both. Entrees That Deliver- Fresh Catch of the Day--a beautifully prepared Rockfish--and the Cajun Pasta. The staff were sweet, but still figuring out the timing of plates; dishes weren't coming out at the right time or were going to wrong tables (new restaurant-quirks they will sort out). We did find it slightly overpriced compared to their sister restaurant, Tazza Kitchen, which has better service and food for cheaper prices. This is a bit tough to rate and I hope the owners read this. I tried the Granite Grill for the first time. It was highly recommended and judging by the crowd, it's a popular place to eat. I know that meal prices have increased because food prices have increased significantly, but I feel for what the restaurant offers, the prices are way too high. My biggest complaint wasn't that the main dish, 1/2 chicken au jus wasn't good. It was very good. BUT, what was delivered to the table wasn't a half of a chicken. What got delivered was a leg and a wing, and very small ones. That, the owners should understand, was a 1/4 of chicken, not a half. For $24, that was outrageous. We had an amazing waitress, Maya, and unfortunately, it was her last day. She was one of the best servers I've ever experienced. She didn't seem to be that concerned and I was shocked at the response, until a few a minutes later she came back and told me she spoke to the manager and they would compensate me for the complaint. THAT is the proper way to handle a complaint. The mashed potatoes tasted wonderful, but they were mush. The owners need to revise the menu if they are going to serve a 1/4 chicken and charge $24. I ordered a side salad ($7.50) and it was delicious with the vinaigrette dressing. We both ordered a brownie sundae ($10) and it was two scoops of a vanilla ice cream with a delicious brownie, caramel sauce, and whipped cream. I think the one sundae is made to share, it was a generous serving. My buddy ordered the Chicken Pesto Pasta. He said it was excellent and THAT looked like a fairly decent portion, but I don't know what he paid for it. Overall, I think the prices are way too high, even with menu prices having been on the rise. If the portions were somewhat more generous, I could understand the prices. The ribs looked delicious but what looked like slightly less than half a rack for about $25 also seemed expensive. The food was delicious but, I feel, overpriced. I am really dying to try the ribs so I'll be back. I hope the other servers are as good as Maya's and I wish her luck in Denver! read more

First time visit for a nice Sunday lunch. We had 1PM reservations, but were able to be seated earlier. Hostesses were very nice. Great lighting and professional staff. Our server, Marywilla, was attentive and friendly. She greeted us with a warm smile. For an appetizer we had the spicy chili crisp shrimp. Not a fan of the bowl of sauce, but the shrimp were nicely cooked. The Granite burger was delicious and the crispy shoestring fries were the star. The Fork & Knife Baby Back ribs were a little fatty, but very meaty. You do need a fork and knife. Bathrooms were clean and easy to find. Outdoor seating is available. read more

I am so excited to have The Granite Grill in the neighborhood. While the restaurant is in the middle of a busy shopping center there is so way to tell once you are inside. Granite Grill has a calm yet lively ambiance. It was packed on the Thursday night we dined there but we were seated quickly and received fast service. I ordered the Scottish Salmon with Herbed Beurre Blanc which was absolutely incredible. My husband ordered the baby back ribs and was highly impressed. We had a great first experience here at granite grill. We had reservations at 4:45 on a Friday. By the time we left the place was almost full! Started off with the hush puppies, they were perfectly cooked and the butter was a great addition! My boyfriend got the ribs which were amazing, tangy sauce and cooked perfectly. I got the beef bourguignon and it was amazing as well! Carrots and mashed potatoes and sauce paired perfectly with it. We also got the cream of spinach which was amazing and the Brussels sprouts which were more Asian style. (Was a little strange for me) we ended the night with the sticky toffee cake. It was divine!!!
