Sesame Noodle, Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings (8 Pieces)
Rachel K.

Dumpling and Noodle is a quick service spot to grab a bite in Carytown. They have great prices and a cute space to sit and enjoy your food after shopping! I recommend the Pork Dumplings and the Sesame Noodles.

Dumpling & Noodle Cart specializes in just that - dumplings and noodles. You really can't beat the prices and it's a great option for lunch or a quick bite. We've tried half their menu and our favorite are the pan-fried dumplings by far. You get 8 bite-sized dumplings for $7. They're crisp on the outside and juicy inside. The steamed pork bun is tasty but a bit tough on the bottom. The sweet sour spicy cold noodles was a new experience to eat temperature wise and more on the sweet side. The pad thai lacked flavor.

I got the pork($7) and chicken ($7) dumpling, sesame noodles($5), and sweet sour spicy noodle($5). The food was ready in about 7 minutes. The dumplings were freshly fried and tasted amazing with their house soy and spicy sauce. The fillings were good and seasoned appropriately. Their cold noodles as advertised were indeed very cold my teeth. However once it began to come to room temp it was quite good. I personally preferred the sesame noodles over the sweet chili but both were quite good. I wish there could've been some type of meat with it, but for $5 it was still quite a deal. The inside was really nice and clean. The staff were very nice. Overall I had a good experience here and would come back again. Food(50%): 7.2 Staff/service(25%): 7.0 Value(25%): 8.0 Overall: 7.4/10

Quick. Easy. They don't fluff up what they got. Thicc dumps. Great sauce. Don't expect a long menu. Why have 50 meh things when you got 10 GREAT items. Easy and fast service

Was in town for the watermelon festival and needed something quick to eat. Stumbled upon dumpling and noodle and after a quick look over their menu, I knew this was exactly what I needed. First, let's talk prices. This place is CRAZY affordable. I'm talking 5 dollars for an order of noodles. I was honestly shocked when I saw it. I got the sweet sour spicy noodles and keep in mind this is my first time having cold noodles like this. Was. Not. Disappointed. Flavours were banging and the little slices of apple inside were an unexpected, but delicious, surprise. Not as spicy or sour as the name suggests, or at least I didn't find it to be. Regardless, I still demolished my food in like 5 minutes lol. When I'm back in town, I'll def be coming here!

For as popular of a spot as I would expect this place to be, every time I go I feel like I'm in on one of the best kept secrets in all of Richmond. This place scratches the dumpling itch and then some - its menu is so outrageously simple but packs in such a punch. The Double Cooked Pork Belly Spicy is killer, especially when paired with a bite of white rice each forkful, and Sweet Sour Spicy Noodle is a nice change of pace from your standard Asian noodle dish - not just because of the temperature but I just never really saw cilantro and apples working... but... it does...? And of course, the dumplings are the grand finale of it all - delicious and flavor-packed. Wish they were a bit more decipherable between the pork and chicken, but both are great :) Steamed Pork Buns too - so much doughy goodness!

Found this gem while on a walk and knew we had to try it. Cute lil place with window seating and a 2nd floor for more seating. Small menu but likely for a reason. Sometimes smaller menus mean the food is gonna be really good - and this is definitely the case here. The pork buns were warm, fluffy and comforting. The twice cooked pork belly was truly delicious - the medium spice level was perfect amount of kick. However we absolutely loved the crispy pork dumpling - juicy on the inside, flavorful, and crisp exterior comes with their dumpling sauce and side of chili crisp if you ask. So good we took two bites and decided we had to get one more order. Price of dumplings was $6 for 7-8 dumplings. The pork belly was the most expensive dish about $15. Can confidently say we will be back to crush more dumplings!

Michelle C.

The pork pan fried dumplings is the dish to get here, hands down. The chicken bun and noodle dishes I tried were fine as well, but the dumplings were the stand out for me. Other than the first floor, there is also some seating upstairs. Staff were friendly and my order was accurate.

Dumpling & Noodle Cart offers a simple, straightforward menu of dumplings, cold noodles, and steamed buns. We have wanted to check this place for a while, so we were excited to try it while we were in the area. You order and pay at the cashier, and wait until your order is called; we ordered: +Pan Fried Chicken Dumplings - this came with 7 pieces; filled with chicken, cabbage, and ginger, it's already placed on top of a house soy sauce and spicy sauce; the sauce was just a bit too sweet for us, as it tasted hoisin-like and sugary; we didn't taste any of the 'spicy sauce', and wished there was an option to make our own sauce (soy sauce and chili oil); the skins on the dumplings were a little thicker and doughy, but the filling was juicy and had a pretty good flavor +Sesame Noodles - cold wheat noodles topped with a peanut-sesame sauce, sliced English cucumbers, and roasted sesame seeds; we wished the sauce was more savory and nutty, as it was more sweet; the noodles were cooked well, and it was served cold Staff here are friendly and kind, and this place was busy when we went; there were a handful of seating inside, which also included addition seating upstairs. Street parking is available in the area. +sauces for dumplings automatically dressed & provided +friendly and kind service +street parking is available

Pretty great deal for some authentic northern style handmade Chinese dumplings doused in a thick soy sauce that is slightly sweet. Highly recommend!!

Super delicious food! The pork belly was not dry at all. It was bouncy and juicy and spicy + came with generous portion of white rice. There was this smokey wok flavor to them too. Cold sesame noodles were chilled and had a sweet nutty sauce. Delicious. Chicken dumplings were juicy and deep fried. You can tell they make them in house. Food came out really fast as well. Overall would come again :)

Was in the area and decided to stop somewhere for a quick bite. Going off of a yelp recommendation we decided to try Dumpling & Noodle cart. Located closer to the center of the city, street parking is the only thing available and can be a bit of hassle depending on the time of day. Inside you'll find a quaint little restaurant with a counter right at front for you to order at. Menu options are limited so finding what you want won't be much of a challenge. I had the pan fried chicken dumplings, the pork bao bun, and the sesame noodles. The food came out very quick (hence the quick bite suggestion) and was very delicious. Staff was very friendly and courteous. My only complaint was that the sesame noodle left me a little lacking but other than that the food was delicious and I'd be more than happy to go back and try other options.

A Yelp search landed me here as I love Korean food and this place was highly rated. The decor was what you'd expect, with torn seats and unsteady tables, and the aromas from the seafood counter did nothing to help. Then food arrived; my bibimbap came with hot stone bowl (which cost extra) and it was needed since the food was room temperature. After much stirring, it finally warmed up a bit. The egg was fried 'over hard' - not a nice runny yolk that should ooze and coat the rice. Also there was no seasoning, fortunately a side dish of gochujang was provided. Wife had ma pa tofu which was...different - in a Korean/Chinese fusion. Not traditional, but tasted better than mine. All-in all, not worth while.

Please do not think this is good dim sum, we just don't have good dim sum places in RVA. I go rarely just to scratch an itch (without it being actually satisfying). It's kind of like having the Great Value version of a brand name.

I had only planned on spending $60 or so but ended up spending $140 including a great tip for my waiter. I got the Fried Chicken Banh Mi, Dan Dan Noodles, and my guest ordered the Brisket Pho, and Singapore noodles alongside a Mojito and their coconut ice cube drink (blanking on the name). I loved every bite of my food. The Daikon Radish was the highlight of the Banh Mi and I was in love with every bite. Visibly dancing and gleaming with joy while eating + the great music being played also helped. I didn't eat my sandwich until it got cold as I like to finish a dish before trying another. I started with the Dan Dan noodles and had to drink 3 of the liters of water by myself to finish my meal . I took my guest's peppers and my peppers and crushed them up into my Dan Dan plate with all the seeds that came with them. In addition I also used all the chili oil paste it came with as well. It was so damn great I enjoyed every second. My guest loved their pho and didn't stop eating it and ate half of their Singapore noodles before getting full and having to take it home. They absolutely loved their drinks and it was so fun to watch the bartender make the drinks. Two shakers in hand mixing the drinks and oh boy were they strong . We will definitely be back!!! Oh and they also had chopsticks for us to use and we ate our entire meal with them. I knew I was in for a whirlwind of flavor when the ethnicities of the cooks matched the restaurant and patrons of color from Pakistani, Black, Indian, Korean, Thai, and more were dining in . Only downsides for me personally were the Singapore noodles but it wasn't my dish. I tasted them and didn't think they were for me I usually prefer a different ratio of seasoning for my Singapore noodles. My guest whose favorite dish is Singapore noodles quite adored them. Though they did say the Singapore noodles I make at home are better they still crushed it and the next morning woke up and crushed the rest with a smile on the face . Only thing I didn't like was the pho but that's my personal taste getting in the way. I don't like fish based broths but my guest ate every single last dropped and loved it! So if that's your alley go for it!!! 10/10 will try again!!! P.S. please tip the staff graciously they work so hard. If you're going to order a $100 worth of food don't be the person not tipping or tipping $10 when the service was excellent. Yes tipping cultures shouldn't exist but until they're paid a fair wage please continue to do so. I really hope this restaurant doesn't sell out like other restaurants (En Su Boca )

The entryway is interesting and provides some shelter from the rain, allowing you to manage your umbrella before entering. We were seated within seconds, and our server, Liza, came by very promptly with some water for our table. I felt slightly anxious at first, being that we were in a cozy two-top amongst the fray, but it subsided quickly because everyone was respectful and reasonably quiet. We ordered the veggie spring rolls to start, and I had the Chinatown Ramen, and my partner had the Chicken Fried Noodles. The appetizer was hot, savory, and spicy with the duck sauce and hot mustard mixture. If you like milder sauce, do not mix it. The entrees came out within five or so minutes of the appetizers, which seemed quick for a busy night. The ramen was spicy, hot, and filling. I was only able to finish about half. We will be enjoying those leftovers tonight. My partner said that her noodles and chicken were well-seasoned and delicious, too. Looking around the restaurant, it is clear that they support the local LGBTQ+ community, and it is even labeled as a Safe Space on the beautifully manicured, makeshift chalkboard/menu/posting board. The clientele and staff alike seemed warm and kind, based solely on limited interactions and observation on my part. If you are looking for a traditional American-Chinese food restaurant (think buffet-style items), this is likely not the place for you. There were no mishaps or snafus with our orders.
