We live really close to Kogi and I like going there for convenience. Several years ago, I used to adore the food here, now it's hit or miss. I've notice their fusion dishes are where they shine now. Whenever we do come, we're able to get a seat immediately. The people who work here are kind. Do know that service can feel a little slow at moments. The space itself is cute and the paintings on the wall are nice. The best thing I've tried here recently were what my friends ordered which were the bulgogi loaded fries and the bulgogi quesadilla. They have a fun time with fusion here! I got the shiitake mushroom savory udon noodles on my last visit and wished they had a bit more flavor. Wow!!! Everything we had was beyond flavorful. The spicy udon with the beef - best udon stir fry I've ever had. It was the perfect combo of heat, sweet, and savory. I had the chicken wing in spicy flavor, it's not that spicy instead it's pretty sweet, it's very juicy inside and crispy outside, comes in full wing size. I also tried the tofu Soondubu. Wait times in the area were up and we were hungry. I finally stopped by here while attending the second Street festival. Cute spot, on a nice quiet corner in the beautifully Black, historic Jackson Ward. I had the kimbap...loved it! I picked it up from the restaurant, which was filled with sunlight and was welcoming. The staff member who helped me was very friendly and efficient, as I had an Uber waiting outside. The food traveled really well and there was a lot of food. The kimbap were very filled, though you do need the sauce, otherwise they were a little dry (but still very good). Perfect place for your korean food faves. I can never visit and not get multiple items. My fave is probably the scallion pancakes. Always nice and fluffy with a bit of crisp. I've also been working my way through the drink menu. It is pretty small, so it can get very crowded on weekends. Also, they don't have a ton of staff -- every time I go the bartender is the server. A true hidden gem! Super un-presuming on the outside, but once you get in and are surrounding by the delightful smells of quality Korean cooking, you know you're at-home. We just did some quick takeout and the service was quick and friendly. Typically takeout bibimbap bowls are really difficult to replicate the in-store experience, but I found this one delicious! Generous portion with perfect cuts of ribeye. Perfectly cooked egg to top it all off that looked like it was straight out of a magazine photoshoot. My girlfriend LOVES Kimchi Pancakes and the crisp on this one was out of this world which you can presume just based on the color of it alone.
