Wow!!! Everything we had was beyond flavorful. The spicy udon with the beef - best udon stir fry I've ever had. It was the perfect combo of heat, sweet, and savory. Bugolgi kimbap and chicken kimbap - the beef one was my favorite as I felt it was more flavorful, but they were both good Pork lettuce wraps - pork and Kimchi had a nice kick however, I wish it did come with more lettuce.. Bugolgi bowl - one of the best bowls I've had. It was loaded with meat and veggies. Service was beyond accommodating and so nice. If I'm ever back in this area, I will make sure to be back

Got me a lil bento box for take out and it was a great balance with a lot of flavor. The ambiance looked cute and the girl who took my order was super nice ! I'll definitely be coming back to sit and dine in. I also got this box for about $18 with tax !

Good Korean restaurant food is very authentic. The only downside is that they are all very sweet. I had the chicken wing in spicy flavor, it's not that spicy instead it's pretty sweet, it's very juicy inside and crispy outside, comes in full wing size. I also tried the tofu Soondubu. It's very flavorful, again there's too much sweetness inside which is a bit unnecessary. Service is fast, the place is casual and more divy vibe

was craving korean food and tried the jigae, kimchi pancake and wings. While the jigae flavors weren't quite the same as what I'm used to in LA, overall the food was still tasty. We went on a Monday evening so it was pretty quiet inside, but they had a steady stream of takeout orders and the service was great

The food here is a 5 out of 5 and the waitress we had was very helpful and fast. For some reason they were playing gangster rap and it is hard to have a nice meal while people are yelling obscenities and singing about killing people. Also 2 employees were wearing socks and sandals. A little more professionalism would make this a 5 star spot.

Good food, hole-in-the-wall small restaurant. Let me start by saying that we went to Kogi's just as they got slammed from a conference around the corner. Wait times in the area were up and we were hungry. The service was excellent - while the wait was long and the waitress was solo initially, she was very, very nice and kept going with a smile and tried to get everyone seated as fast as she could. The food took a long time to come out also - luckily we weren't in a rush. The food was very good. Menu available here https://kogirva.com/house-bowls We had the bulgogi bowl and the Katsu chicken bowl. The bulgogi bowl was delicious! The only thing I wasn't as crazy about was the kimchi. While I have the occasional kimchi, I'm definitely not a connoisseur. I think we'll need to give Kogi another shot when they're less busy.

I love Korean food, so came here with some friends. It's a hole in the wall, with a nice vibe. Limited seating, so we sat at the bar. I ordered the bulgogi bowl with an egg. It looked great, but tasted pretty average. There was not much rice, and the rice wasn't done right. Normally the rice on the outside, next to the bowl, cooks to a crunch. Not so here. I think they added too much water. In fairness, there was a good amount of meat. And the egg ($2 extra) was executed well (runny yolk). I walked away very full. But there were too many key negatives to offer more than three stars.

I found this spot as it was a casual place near our hotel. J Kogi has great happy hour specials, great beers on tap, local brews. We ordered the tofu wrap and hubby got the bulgogi rice bowl. I loved my tofu lettuce wrap. There was a perfect amount of spiciness. While the food was good, the restaurant interior really left nothing to be desired. Inside looks rather tired with vinyl floors that didn't look like it was ever mopped. Overall, food is good, hh drinks even better, however don't stay too long inside the restaurant.

Went here on a Sunday night, right before closing but thankfully they were accommodating to our rather large group. Menus are done on your phone via QR codes-- only wish is that it would be on one page with tabs for different categories (kinda like meal delivery service) rather than 3 separate pages. Ordered Soy Garlic wings-- came with 5 very sticky wings-- the flavor was really nice, though it could've been crispier. And the price was not bad either!

I had a really tasty meal from Kogi. I grabbed some as I was heading out of town on the Amtrak and ordered the bulgogi ribeye bowl and katsu kimbap. I picked it up from the restaurant, which was filled with sunlight and was welcoming. The staff member who helped me was very friendly and efficient, as I had an Uber waiting outside. The food traveled really well and there was a lot of food. The kimbap were very filled, though you do need the sauce, otherwise they were a little dry (but still very good). The sweet honey mayo was incredible, definitely try that one with the kimbap. The bulgogi was delicious, though I ordered it with mixed scallion salad and I didn't really have many scallions. I recommend trying Kogi if you're in the Richmond area.

Perfect place for your korean food faves. I can never visit and not get multiple items. My fave is probably the scallion pancakes. Always nice and fluffy with a bit of crisp. I've also been working my way through the drink menu. It is pretty small, so it can get very crowded on weekends. Also, they don't have a ton of staff -- every time I go the bartender is the server. No biggie for me, but don't expect to be in and out when you visit.

Spicy short rib noodles came with 2.65 oz of meat... pitiful and criminal for a $20 meal

Awesome food and good vibes!! Service is a touch slow with a small staff, but the food easily makes up for it. Expect sizable portions!

You can never go wrong with the bulgogi house bowl for a quick takeout option! I love the Tae Yang sauce with it.

It says there are vegan options. I was wondering if someone can tell me what those are besides the veggie dumpling?

I believe the veggie kimbap is vegan!

The cauliflower wings were HUGE and the whole table enjoyed them. My partner got the vegan artichoke ("GWARtichoke") burger with tofu ricotta and that was awesome too. And they have a parking lot which is so convenient. Did not love the plastic silverware in little disposable packs. (For dining in, real metal utensils are much appreciated pleeeease). Service wasn't super friendly but maybe it's part of the GWAR schtick (they weren't mean at all, just not the most hospitable). We didn't mind anyway. The daiquiris during happy hour are hands down the best in all of Richmond. Refreshing, perfectly balanced, and dangerously easy to drink.
