Shrimp lettuce wrap
Nicole B.

The have a delicious lettuce wrap if your looking for a healthier option. I go a to go order and was a bit nervous cause lettuce wraps can be messy. The flavors were amazing and the service was quick for a to go order during lunch time.

We were just having a girls day out shopping and decided to stop in for lunch. They were VERY busy but to our surprise, no wait. We were very happy about that! Our waitress, i think her name was Laura or Lauren, she was actually top notch! She was friendly and super knowledgeable! 10/10 for her!! That's why it got 3 stars instead of 2... if it was based on customer service alone, she would have gotten 5 stars.... The food was mediocre at best. You hear the name CPK and you just (well me) think to yourself, wow, this has to be delicious and it was actually very bland. VERY BLAND... like to the point that I don't know if I feel like I would ever have to come back. We did get pizzas to go, which was a very good deal. I think it was something like if you get an entrée, you can get a pizza to go for $9... which is a deal you can't beat. And that was a decent pizza. These things have the potential to be great.... But ehhh... idk.... All of us together felt the same way about our food.

I have been here a few times with my friends and we all love the food here! I reallly enjoy pasta so I probably have tried all of the pastas on the menu at this point and they're all delicious. Prices are actually very reasonable considering their location in Shortpump, which is why we keep going back lol! The ambiance is very open, and I appreciate the outside seating. All of the servers are so fun to talk to you and they're always offering me something new to try lol! I feel bad that I've never actually ordered a pizza (hence the name) but I get so distracted by other items on the menu!

THE ORIGINAL BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA

So I am a member of their rewards program and they sent a coupon for a free entree with a $20 minimum purchase, a pretty tempting deal so I took it. Ordered online easy peasy and the pick up was great with good customer service! I wish I could say the same about the food though, such a bummer! The BBQ Chicken Pizza that they are known for was small, tough crust where the toppings and sauce was sparse at best (2.4/5)! The Jambalaya pasta was full of meat, pasta was slightly overcooked but still good but the shrimp would have been better if they had removed the tails. The pasta dish was seasoned but missed the mark on flavors to be considered a jambalaya inspired dish (3.2/5). We paid around $22 before tip so we just made the best of a good deal but idk if we would try them again (the last time we went my daughter was 9 yrs old and she will be 23 in a few short weeks, definitely not as good as it once was). #pizza #jambalayapasta #cpk

Stopped by for a weeknight dinner and it was pretty quiet. It was actually nice because I prefer quieter spots so it makes it easier to have conversations. Original BBQ Chicken Pizza - had to order this because it's a classic. It was as good as I remembered it to be. The crust was crispy and the bbq chicken was tender. Pacific Thyme - I wanted something refreshing but this was just extremely artificial tasting. It was supposed to be a combination of passion fruit, mango, ginger, guava, and sparking water. It didn't taste like any of the flavors. It tasted like a sweet artificial syrup.

NEW - CATERING STEAKHOUSE SALAD

We always come here and really enjoy the food and service. This review is just to warn customers not to order the steak salad. We paid $24 for it, but the steak was so tough that we couldn't eat it. We mentioned it to the waitress, but still ended up paying for the dish. This is the plate as she took it back.

California Pizza Kitchen is one restaurant I always forget about at the mall but every time I go the food is delicious! It's a very busy restaurant and I went by myself. They seated me right away even with it being busy. They have a bar area but I wanted a booth if possible and they put me right around the corner of the door in a booth that's meant for 2 people. It was perfect. A group of moms with lots of kids walked in before me and I was thankfully not placed there. My waitress was Abigail and she was amazing! Even with it busy and it just being me. She kept coming over and checking on me and refilling my water! Great service!

Great waitress (Lauren, thanks for making us feel so welcome on such a busy Sunday!) and great food served quickly. It was loud but not overly so, with a casual ambiance. Good sweet tea!

Avocado Club Egg Rolls

This location makes me want to never return to a California Pizza Kitchen. As someone who has been coming to CPK for years all across the states this location specifically has put a bad taste in my mouth for the chain as a whole. The restaurant was absolutely filthy, tables not cleared and flies swarming. Bathrooms additionally were not kept clean. Service was slow. Food was mediocre at best. We ordered the avocado rolls, wontons, and a California club pizza. The club came out without avocado and the dough was so tough we were hardly able to eat it. The server only charged us for a BLT pizza as a courtesy which I found interesting since that is in fact what they gave us. For $60 I will be choosing a different restaurant and I suggest you do as well.

I am a lover of sandwiches. I am a lover of Salads. I ordered just that. As you can see from the picture, I barely touched it. This place clearly has NO IDEA, how to prepare a sandwich. The bread was HARD AF! It was as if they left it out for days because it was stone hard. I tried so hard to take a bite and I had to break (I can't even say that because you couldn't even do that, it was so hard and old) off a piece. The turkey was more of a processed meat. It was like a Vienna sausage texture - it was terrible, I wanted to cry I was so hungry and couldn't even eat my sandwich. The salad, etc! It was 90% Chips. Where the fuck was the salad I ordered!?! Why did they even bring me a fork because this salad was not something you can eat with a fork. This was some bar food salad that you finger fuck because you couldn't use silverware for this pile of chip thins. My mother in law was disgusted that this was a place she suggested for us to eat at. Yasmine saw my plate of barely touched food (if you can even call it barely touched) and was prompted to ask how the food was. She gave me a dirty lol and walked off as I said, "My plate is not edible." She literally turned her head around and looked at me in his gust and turned back around and kept walking. Like wtf!? Do you mfers not care about the customer experience? Do you prepare food with angst and anger? You have shitty staff and your food is not for human consumption. We were so shocked that Yasmine gave us shitty service, gave me dirty looks and DID NOTHING ABOUT MY PLATE OF ROCK HARD FOOD AND BOWL of CHIPS! I walked out hangry and with a pounding hunger headache! NEVER AGAIN!

lunch pizza and soup

I got a half size roasted veggie salad with dressing on the side. My bf got a lunch portion of the mushroom pepperoni pizza + tortilla soup. The food was just average- definitely not the best cpk I've been to. The service was ok as well- very very slow. Maybe it was because we went around lunch on a sunday, so it was a bit busier. However, the reason for the 3 stars is due to the lacking food and portions as well as the slow service.

Working out of town again and GPT told me the wood fired pizza was great. It was. Sat at the bar and only one other person at the time. Initially ordering a drink was fine. After that i felt like I had to raise my hand to be noticed. Waayyy too much time talking with the friend on the other side of the bar and taking care of service bar orders. Finally the service bar guy looked over and sent one of the ladies over for a beer order. Ordered my app n pizza. Kitchen was great and totally happy with the pie. Food delivered and then another long pause before I could ask for parmigiana and pepper flakes which apparently needs to be ordered from the kitchen. Who knew since no one asked if I needed anything else. The put off gang is no return follow up to see how i was. Nothing!! No check on food or even my parm. I asked a waitress to grab me some. Again service bar and friends were the priority. Even the nice couple that were regulars noticed I seemed to be invisible. So my food was great but as i travel 40 weeks a year i leave good and puzzling reviews. Silver Diner i had no problems. Tres Macho no problem. Perry's no problem. Firebirds very attentive. So step it up Bar to match your kitchen please. Spoke with Josh the manager. He listened. Sounds like we need a bar intervention if this matches others experience. Unfortunately I am not local so you can't make it up to me unless you can credit me the great Key Lime i got to go. Recommend it highly. Cool place. Cool atmosphere. Just felt ignored at a spot i was excited to find. Unfortunate too since I was in restaurant service after college for 4 years and i tend to over tip.

It was a great way to keep people busy while they waited. We had a reservation and the waitress seated us after what seemed like 2 mins. Seth was our server, he was friendly and knowledgeable and attentive. Since it was our first time here, and first time actually trying (good) wine, he was able to provide us with samples and give us his opinion on foods. Started off with the pretzel bread, it was amazing! Such a cool concept (they also use the pretzels as croutons in the salad) speaking of salad, the Caesar salad we ordered was wonderful, crispy and cold. We ordered the drunken shrimp which was delicious, crispy, and complimented very well with a combination of the flavors and sauces. I ordered the seafood risotto and usually I'm not a fan of risotto or it's not my go to, it ended up being one of the best things I've had! The flavors were so good combined and the seafood was nicely cooked and seasoned. My bf got a dish (I forgot what it was called) but had noodles, chicken over a lemon sauce and capers) his was fantastic as well! The fingerling potatoes also had a lot of flavor, almost an au gratin style! Of course, we couldn't finish dinner and my drinking a whole bottle of wine without dessert, we got the smores dessert which was amazing. It has 4 different layers of flavor and every bit was fantastic. As first timers, we will be back! Seth was a great waiter and made the experience good. The service and timing of food was great, and the food itself was phenomenal. This place is the definition of wine and dine! It's busy but spacious with a good vibe.

The dining area is very large and wide open with large booths that can comfortably sit six guests each. The dining area is well lit and cheerfully decorated. There is also a counter area towards the entrance for eating as well. In addition, there is an outdoor patio to eat outside when the weather permits. Off street parking is plentiful and free. The dining area and bathrooms were spotless. For starters, they offer an interesting selection and variety of jiuces. We had the Morning Meditation consisting of orange, lemon and beet juice with turmeric and ginger. Different but delicious. My wife ordered the pancakes. Two plate sized pancakes that were light and fluffy. I ordered the bacon, eggs and breakfast potatoes. The bacon was excellent. Not too salty and thick cut with very little fat. Our server was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. The meal prices are pricey, averaging about thirty dollars per person, but worth the premium due to quality, portion sizes and dining ambiance. I highly recommend this restaurant
