This is my second time here and it's a nice establishment with parking around the area. We had a private dining experience so the menu was limited but we still got an appetizer, entree, and dessert. With that, this is a nice place if you have a larger party. The food here is pretty consistent and decent. I enjoyed my crab cakes and the corn around it. However, the dessert felt like it was pre frozen and the cocktails/drinks were just okay. The service was 50/50 I also know we were a big group but half of the people seemed annoyed and the other half happy to help. It didn't taint the experience but just something to note.
We were here for a large group dinner and the staff did a great job taking care of us--- it is not always easy to balance! Friendly, polite, effecient. Dishes were all plated lovely, well prepared and flavorful. I will be vack for an individual meal. West Coast Provisions is one of those places you end up returning to again and again, and for good reason. We went during Restaurant Week, so it was packed, but completely worth it. Even with the crowd, the experience never felt rushed or chaotic. That says a lot about how well they run things. We started with the calamari, crab miso soup, octopus, crispy tuna roll, and tuna tacos. Everything was excellent. The octopus was especially well done, tender with great flavor, and the tuna dishes were fresh and perfectly balanced. The crab miso soup was a standout and not something you see everywhere, which made it even better. Service is always strong here, but this night really stood out. Attentive, polished, and genuinely welcoming without being over the top. The restaurant itself is just a lovely space. It feels like a place you can settle into, whether it is a special night out or just a casual dinner close to home. We are lucky to have this as a neighborhood spot. It is consistent, high quality, and one of the best places in the Richmond area to rely on when you want a great meal without overthinking it.
We went for an early lunch. This place feels like you stepped into a sleep beach town. The best chicken sandwich I've had and last I checked, no longer on the menu. The service was average, but the beauty of the resteraunt reminded me of Breakfast at Tiffany's.
Decided to try West Coast Provisions for Restaurant Week - and I'm so glad we did! The restaurant is beautiful and modern. And everyone was professional and lovely. Now the food - Chef's Kiss! We started with the mussels and oysters - which were so delicious we scarfed them down before I could take a picture. We then enjoyed the salmon and lobster risotto - which were extraordinary! We ended the meal with the cheesecake and Tirimisu- ooh, and the spicy grapefruit drink is a must! We'll be back!
Beautiful restaurant inside- clean and plenty of tables and comfortable booths. Food was good and fairly priced for lunch. My grouper sandwich was massive and delicious, and the pineapple on top was such a perfect hint of sweetness to the fried food. The side salad was not that good. I'd get fries next time. My fiancé and I got 2 lunch entrees and a cup of soup each, no drinks, and our bill was about $60 with tip. A little pricey for lunch, but not bad. Not sure I'd go back, but it was a lovely visit!
I don't know what is going on at West Coast Provisions, but the food they're turning out at lunch is not good and is overpriced. My husband and I were out and about on Labor Day and decided to have lunch. We decided on seafood and ended up at West Coast Provisions. I've eaten there quite a bit so I know how good the food can be but this trip was a disappointment. We had grilled oysters...always good and salt air margaritas. For entrees, I ordered the blackened mahi tacos, which was dry and frankly bland for a blackened fish. The shells were super hard on the edges like it had been sitting under the heat lamp too long. And the tacos didn't come with a side. My husband had the yellowtail with hibiscus. I didn't like it and my husband didn't care for it but he ate it rather than wasting the food. He also For a spicy tuna roll which he described as okay. We had a great server, which was the saving grace. I'd honestly put this restaurant at the bottom of my list for seafood. We have better options in the area.
West Coast Provisions is a great place to meet up with family and friends, and to go out on a date. Nice relaxed atmosphere, service is impeccable, and the food is delicious. They have a good variety from fish and sushi to chicken, veggie, and steak! I love their burger... always a favorite of mine! Highly recommended.
I visited with friends for dinner on a weeknight and, since the weather was so nice, we chose to sit outside. The service was excellent, and the menu offered a variety of delicious options. Everything we ordered was fresh and very enjoyable. The lobster tower was a delightful way to start the meal. The mahi, prepared Thai style, was incredibly good, with the Panang sauce adding a spicy and flavorful touch. Be sure to save room for dessert; their apple dessert was outstanding. I will definitely return!
Fun place to spend happy hour. Bartenders attentive and friendly but definitely not in your face. In fact, the cocktails were the star. Ordered the oysters on the half shell, great size but not all were fully cut from the shell. Spicy tuna roll was decent and the Truffle Fries were basically the end of the basket, pieces. Good flavor but annoying. So, the Oyster Martini, that should be the star standout on the cocktail menu! Good grief, inventive, savory and refreshing! Seriously, if I could have that as my "go to" I would order in my favorite places. Guess it's back to West Coast Provisions and hope it's a Dealers Choice again.

We ordered an array of cocktails and mocktails (which were delish), along with a few sushi rolls, a burger, oysters, and some apps. The sushi rolls were pretty standard, but still good. We had truffle fries (okay), edamame with a great sweet chili sauce, and a crab dish. The food and drinks were pretty good with the oysters being the best, and the burger was delicious as well per our party. For the price, it was a decent amount of food and the restaurant was quite busy. Would go again!
I really am torn on this review. I would give 3.5 stars, but rounded down this time bc of the disappointments. The restaurant is very pretty and clean, but SUPER loud! We were a large party and I had a difficult time even hearing the person next to me. Definitely not an intimate place, nor a large party place when it comes to atmosphere. I want to acknowledge the bar menu has cocktails, which were appreciated! The lavender lemonade cocktail was delicious and refreshing! All of the cocktails were good as well. The food was good for the most part. We started with the seafood plate. I had never had raw clams before and they were actually really tasty. The oysters and shrimp were large and seemed quite fresh. The charcuterie plate was also quite good. The bread was actually the surprise, especially the butter served with it! So very good. We tried all sorts of meals. The curry wasn't quite curry, but wasn't bad. Just not what was expected. The cioppino had a delicious broth! Though some of the fish and seafood was overcooked. Those who had the mahi said it was very good. The scallops were beautiful and tasty, though the person who ate them said the pickled peaches were a tad strange. Overall it seemed those who got simply prepared fish were the most pleased. They did a great job of having all the food out to the table at the same time, which is a feat for a large party. The dessert menu is limited, but the lava cake and mint chip ice cream was quite tasty, even if there wanted actually lava to ooze when the cake was cut into. The service is where it really falls down. As I mentioned, we were a large party (12), and we had one junior server. When he arrived he did not introduce himself, no big deal, but a miss. He did not check in on us frequently and our plates and empty appetizer serving dishes, empty glasses, etc were not cleared regularly. This is a problem with a large party. When the wine was delivered to the table it wasn't opened for us, luckily it was twist top so we didn't have to wait for a corkscrew, but it has been a very very long time since I had wine not poured in a restaurant....maybe this is the first time I have experienced this actually. On the positive, nobody's orders were inaccurate. As mentioned. I was torn on the star rating, but ultimately for the price I expect a bit more in the service department. I might go back if someone asks me, but I won't be suggesting this as a starting place when selecting restaurants.

Six of us when here for dinner on a weeknight. Parking was easy. We were sat down right away, we did have a reservation. But it looked like you could walk in on this evening. Service was a little slow.. especially considering that the place was not packed. We had to flag the waitress down to order drinks. We had some appetizers as well as a main meal. Oysters, cheese plate and something else for the appetizers... all of which were good. I had the rockfish for dinner. It was also good. It is a decent place for dinner or lunch if you are in the short pump area. read more

Had dinner here the other night with my ladies dinner group. I had never been here before so I was looking forward to giving it a try. I saw a number of interesting things on the menu. I decided to try a couple of things - the fried oysters (I can never resist) and the crunchy roll as my dinner. I was very happy with my choices, especially the oysters. Wonderfully breaded and beautifully fried, they came served on top of a corn relish/salad that included pickled red onions. Such an incredible combination of flavors. The crunchy roll was nice too. Others in my party ordered from all over the menu. Everyone seemed happy with their choices too, including a few signature cocktails. Service was friendly and helpful but a tad slow. We were a large party and the place was absolutely jammed packed, even on a freezing cold Wednesday night. So nothing off-putting enough for me not to return. read more

Dinner at West Coast Provisions in Ridge, VA was very pleasant. The restaurant has a very upscale vibe inside with extra seating outdoors. Our server was super friendly and the food was good. I thought it was a little overpriced for the quality of food served. But the happy hour wine was delicious and the atmosphere was very nice. We went on a weekday around 5:30pm and it was crowded but we had made a reservation on line a few days beforehand! read more

The sushi is the disappoint. :/ 60% rice and 40% other "stuff" made it feel like a pile of rice and left a negative impression compared to all the other good stuff we had like calamari, grouper sandwich, Brussels and shrimp cocktail. read more

This was my second time here and it was just as good as the first! Our server was kind and attentive. The food is delicious, comes out quick and hot. They have a mocha espresso martini which is a fun twist to the regular espresso martini! The inside is beautiful, dimly lit and there's patio seating as well which is nice for a cool summer night! read more

Espresso martini were the best ones I have had. The first one I could tell sat a little bit at the bar. But the next was so smooth and foamy! They were a perfect mix of alcohol, espresso and cream! We got a couple apps like oysters, calamari, and truffle fries! Then did a sushi roll for dinner. Food was so yummy and service was great! Oohhh went for lunch on a Thursday wasn't as busy as they should be for the service and the food that they serve. They should be a lot busier. We got a big roomy booth greeted by a gracious hostess in our server was wonderful. we started off with the oysters and the fried calamari for appetizers. I'll be honest, the oysters were out of this world,but the calamari was a little over cooked and rubbery. The crab miso soup was crazy good... Get you some of that! The spicy tuna roll was fresh and flavorful, and very good. The fish tacos were also on point all in all it was a great lunch. read more
A nice option for date night or a special occasion. I've been here for private parties, larger groups, and small ones and the service is consistently great. Everything I've had to eat and drink is pretty good, though some of the entrees are a bit small for the price. Reservations can be made on OpenTable. read more

Had a great lunch here this week! It was really quiet in the restaurant, there were only a few people there, but my meal was absolutely delicious. I ordered the arugula salad with grilled chicken. The chicken was actually perfectly cooked, wasn't dry at all, and the salad itself was fantastic! It had edamame, sunchoke chips, oranges, and a delicious miso maple vinaigrette. Really well balanced :) only taking off one star: we had ordered a few other things that were forgotten about and our waiter was constantly checking in (I hope this doesn't come across the wrong way and I'm sure it gets boring when there aren't many people to attend to) But there's no reason to check in on a table every five minutes unless you have a really large party. besides that, would definitely come back! Will try happy hour or sitting at the bar next time read more

Happy Hour prices are a steal, but it was kind of annoying that HH was limited to just the bar and patio (though this wasn't open since it was wintertime). We arrived on a Friday around 5 PM, so the bar area was definitely packed. Waited about 20 minutes before a seat opened up. Ordered the truffle parmesan fries, dozen oysters, and pan roasted mussels, which were filling for two people. Oysters were clean, fresh, and shucked well. The sauce that were mussels were cooked in was flavorful that we ended up asking for a to-go container, so we can make more mussels at home. read more
We were there celebrating my sisters bday! Food was amazing, cocktails superb - loved Clove Actually it was sweet, spicy and strong. Our waiter Zack did great job keeping up with everything, he was polite but knew what he was doing. Everybody was happy with their entrees, I had filet 6oz cooked perfectly with cheesy mashed potatoes yummy - recommended by Zack! We were seated in the back next to fireplace, fire was on, restaurant was decorated nicely for holidays, we had great time! read more

I'm almost always in the mood for seafood, so west coast provision was recommended as a place to try. I went for the happy hour so that I could sample a few items. My friend and I ordered truffle fries, oysters, tuna sushi and drinks. The space was beautiful and a general good vibe. The service was great. There was nobody there when I initially arrived. The oysters were delicious with or without the dressings and appeared to be from a local VA source. The sushi roll left a lot to be desired. It was a tad warm and the ginger appeared spoiled. I should've opted for the tuna tartare tacos. The truffle fries were a good hit - flavorful with amazing aioli. I also tried the basil lemongrass No-Jito and London Lavender strawberry lemonade. The former was light and tasty the latter felt watered down. Overall a good place to stop for light apps and decent drinks. The dinner menu had crab cakes and other delicious options. Will be back to try some more. read more
