This was my first time at a Pacific Catch, and I really enjoyed it! I was able to make a dinner reservation the day before for my party of 7. When we arrived, we were seated at a large table in the back of the restaurant, with comfy booth seating on one side. The restaurant itself was well decorated but not overly trendy, with bright lighting even in the evening. For drinks, I got the Island Mule, which I loved - great taste, well balanced. My friends enjoyed their drinks as well, including the Blood Orange Margarita, Tiki Old Fashioned, and Hawaiian Butterfly (beautiful presentation, but this one was way too sweet). For starters, we got two orders of the Guaca-Poke (fantastic) and the Coconut Shrimp (just ok). The service was very quick and our server was friendly/helpful with her recommendations. For dinner, I decided I wanted to try a little bit of everything (the menu is pretty large), so I got the Poke "Bomb" Original Ahi, one Spicy Salmon Sushi Taco, and one Guajillo Shrimp Taco. I loved this assortment, with the Spicy Salmon Sushi Taco probably being my favorite, but all three were very good. My friends got the Mixed Catch (pretty good), Cali Salmon Burger (same feedback), Striped Sea Bass Fresh Catch (very tasty), and some of the other tacos (yum). I've been to other Pacific Catch locations (Dublin and Campbell) and have had no complaints or issues none so ever, till this one. I ordered sushi- 1) I had to ask for chopsticks , 2) had to ask for a little saucer and soy sauce to mix wasabi in. I got a little dipping cup filled to the brim with soy sauce. As I added the wasabi, the soy sauce spilled over, 3) the salmon still had skin on it, pls it was loosely wrapped and instantly fell apart when handled by the chopsticks. The manager (no introduction was made, but I think she was the manager) did approach our table and asked how things were which I appreciated. I would have said something, however our food just arrived so a full assessment of what was amiss was yet to be established. I really wanted to like this location since we do like Pacific Catch, but will stay clear in the meantime. I would like to revisit in the future though, but not in the near. read more

This used to be one of our favorite spots because of the great quality and taste of the food. Unfortunately, our recent visits have been disappointing. We ordered the Fish and Chips, and the fish was very chewy and lacked flavor. The portion of fries was also noticeably smaller--maybe a third of what they used to serve. My mother-in-law ordered the sea bass, and it was bitter. It's really disappointing to see how the quality has declined despite the prices going up. Sadly, we won't be coming back. read more

After looking at the menu ahead of time, we decided to try out this restaurant for our anniversary dinner. We came early, around 2pm on a a Tuesday, so the restaurant was pretty quiet. My husband ordered the fish & chips and I ordered the surf & turf because I am generally low carb. Our server was pleasant and helpful, allowing me to sub out the mashed potatoes with a salad instead. When the food came, it looked good enough although I was surprised by how charred my lobster shell looked. It was so crispy that it fell apart when I tried to remove the lobster. The lobster itself was so overcooked it didn't even taste like lobster. I thought it was just me, but when I had my husband take a bite he agreed that there was something wrong with it. The server was very kind and brought it to the manager who agreed that it was indeed overcooked and had the kitchen make me a new one. In the meantime, I ate the skirt steak and asparagus... both were delicious. I wasn't a fan of the salad, so my husband ate it. He also enjoyed his meal. After a very long time (even longer than the first time) the server came back with the second lobster tail. Right away you could tell it was overcooked and the server even said that she requested it from the kitchen a few times and they kept saying it wasn't cooked enough. I didn't even take it the second time. It was disappointing, because this was supposed to be a restaurant that specializes in seafood and it was in fact the seafood that was messed up... twice. The server didn't charge me for the dinner ($47) which was nice of her considering that I did eat some of it. When the bill came, I felt that she still deserved a 20% tip because she didn't do anything wrong. What I didn't realize until later was that the tip was precalculated from the original bill (before I was credited the $47) so I tipped $16 on a $32 tab. I guess it all worked out since I did eat some of my food, but I will say I won't be back because the overall experience was disappointing. read more

For my main I opted for the sea bass grilled with soo glaze, broccolini and Brussel sprouts. My lunch mate went with ahi tuna was I bowl. As the main dishes came out, they looked great, smelled delicious and couldn't wait to have lunch. My fish was full of flavour and the sides made it perfect. The ahi tuna bowl looked good and was tasty as I was told! The food didn't disappoint, as my many times eating at Pacific Catch always was good. Went in on a Sunday at around 2:40. Was seated promptly in a nearly empty dining area (I could only see one other person eating). I sat there with my menu for just shy of 25 minutes and not once did someone come to check on me, offer me water, etc., so I got up and left. My GF and I had lunch there on Valentine's Day. I ordered the Miso Black Cod, which comes with furikake rice and sesame green beans. The fish was fine (cooked properly and tasty); however, the green beans were room temperature when served to me and cold within about 5 minutes after that, to the point where the dressing on them got kind of gummy. The rice was only slightly warmer and cold similarly quickly. Also, I did not like the fact that a 3% surcharge was applied to my check, "due to rising costs" according to my server (apparently they state that in small print on the menu, but I missed it). Pleasant ambience, pretty large place, new and modern. But where we were initially seated is a very noisy room. We moved to the room with all the booths, which was better. Three items: - The clam chowder was right down the middle: not the best, not the worst. Six whole clams atop a bowl of chowder that had plenty of clam flavor. It was thickened with flour and thicker than I like but most people like a heavy, thick chowder, so that's a personal choice. The ingredients (bacon, potatoes, clams) were finely chopped, which seemed unusual to me. I'd have preferred it to be more chunky. I would give the chowder a C- but I think most people would appreciate it and give it an A or a B. - The Rainbow Bowl was terrific. One flaw: A very mediocre avocado with brown spots, which they replaced for me. The replacement was unblemished and OK, for winter. The rest of the bowl was amazing. Fresh greens on one side, well-prepared sushi rich on the other, a generous scoop of a seafood salad in the center, various vegetables, and large, thin slices of extremely fresh raw fish (hamachi, tuna, fatty salmon). - The Crispy Rice was novel. Square, black rice cakes cooked to crunchy, and topped with saucy raw fish. Really excellent. As others say, Pacific Catch is pricey, though not horribly so. read more

Pacific Catch is rapidly expanding all over the South Bay! Gotta love the sustainable seafood! My bf got the rainbow sushi bowl, which was ok. The fish (2 thin slices each), was a bit skimpy at $27. Generous with the seasoned rice and crab salad though. 3/5 My lobster roll was fantastic! Good sized chunks of sweet lobster lightly dressed with mayo, mixed with some fresh herbs, topped with sliced avocado and a sprinkling of micro greens. They even took care to place a leaf of romaine lettuce between the bun and the lobster so it wouldn't get soggy. Loved how the King's Hawaiian roll was buttered and grilled on BOTH sides. 4.5/5 The lobster roll came with a side of coleslaw (good) and choice of fries. I ordered the furikake which were ok flavor wise, but the semi mushy fries could have used more time in the fryer. Good service. Mandatory 3% health surcharge. We prefer to try out a newer spot in an attempt to stay on top of the latest and greatest happenings here in The Bay and the foodie world in general. Located in a brand-new mixed-use development just a stone's throw from Downtown Sunnyvale, this newest addition to PC's ever expanding lineup will be a welcome addition to the local residents and a traffic-free bastion for those trying to avoid DT Sunnyvale's parking a traffic nightmare. The Good: *Seasonal Menu w/ rotating beers on-tap *Their poke/ceviche is as good as I've had anywhere here in the Bay. *Their bowls are pretty fantastic and have a good ratio of grains to meat to greens ratio. *Their sides have an explosion of flavor, such as the Miso-butter Broccolini and Thai Brussels. *Service is always terrific, and this new location is no exception. Yay they are finally open! We stopped by for lunch on Monday around noon and we were seated right away. There is plenty of street parking and a lot right around the corner. It is nice and bright inside ( unlike the location in Mountain View). We ordered: For the kids: Fish and chips: 5/5 my daughter gobbled this down. It came with two big pieces of fish and we subbed the fries for sweet potatoes fries. Salmon teriyaki: 4/5 my daughter said the sauce was too sweet, but she liked the salmon. Comes with broccoli too. For the adults: West coast salmon salad: 5/5 this was a big salad! The dressing was tasty. The brown rice with quinoa is very filling. Sea bass salad: 5/5 dressing is tasty too. Big portions too. Came here during their first official week of opening and it was fantastic. Staff was doing their best on providing service and still working out the kinks in the systems but big kudos for caring! I ordered the Mixed Catch and was pleasantly surprised bc it was a lot more food than I expected. You have the choice of seasoned, regular, or sweet potato fries. The fish, calamari, and shrimp was nice and crisp without being too greasy. Friend ordered the Poke Chirashi and when I saw it I had plate envy bc I didn't expect as much Poke as he got. It was perfectly laid out as if they were EXPECT you to post on social media lol. In any case I think that's the right attitude bc you eat with your eyes first and if it's not visually stimulating then the eating experience won't be as great as it can be. I hope the staff continues to strive for the same level of excellence to deliver the service, and food quality throughout and not just during the first few weeks. Even though my male companion was able to finish his, I could barely finish half of mine. Leftovers for tomorrow! The California roll was standard and hit the spot. The fries though, YIKES! They were plentiful but very soggy and lukewarm. Would not recommend. I know this place is a chain but it's one of our favorite "go-to" spots! Glad we have another location in the bay. I usually get the chicken teriyaki bowl however on this occasion I wanted sushi shrimp tempura roll, sticky ribs, salted edamame, and a caramelized Pina colada! The sticky ribs didn't last a chance we gobbled those up fast! The caramelized pina colada was so different I really enjoyed all the tropical flavors of the drink and that caramelized pineapple. I really appreciate how consistent PC is between all locations I always enjoy my meal inside or to go. Hello Pacific Catch! Welcome to the neighborhood. PC is a welcomed addition to downtown Sunnyvale. The space is fresh and inviting, reflecting the current design language of the company. I was a bit surprised by the volume of the music playing in the background. I guess I never noticed it at the other locations. We are looking forward to the modifications planned for their "patio". Service was first rate. Kudos to Janice for her friendliness, knowledge of their offerings, and attention to detail. She definitely complimented the whole dining experience. The missus and I ordered 2 bowls, Korean and Rainbow Sushi. Both were tasty and generous in portion. We were too full to even consider dessert. Came with coworkers for team lunch. I've never been to Pacific Catch before and wrongly assumed they do Cajun seafood - very off. The cuisine offered here is more Asian fusion with a seafood focus. I was eyeing the Westcoast Style bowl when my coworkers strongly recommended the Japanese Grill Pacific plates. Our waitress suggested that two people can share that, plus some small appetizers, so I shared one Japanese Grill plate, one Thai Brussels, and one Trio Ahi Bombs with my coworker. Thai Brussels - my favorite!!! I've had Brussels sprouts prepped many ways, all tasty. However, this one is legit the best - perfectly grilled with a lightly sweet & sour sauce. One bite through the crunchy sprout and you get to taste the deliciousness of the sauce released in between layers! Trio Ahi Bombs - delicious and creative! These are an interesting variation of the traditional inari sushi (tofu pocket stuffed with rice) - they top the inari with different fish poke. All three flavors are great! If you aren't super hungry, a trio of this should be enough. Japanese Grill - a good but mediocre combo if you want to try various things but in small portion. Nothing particularly impressed me except for the shishito pepper and the ahi bomb, which is why we ended up getting a trio. Tropical Iced Tea - delicious if you don't drink alcohol! Food was straight up average. The ceviche order was very small but tasty. I would give the ceviche a 4 out of five. Since there's no full-blown calamari and chips, I ordered the appetizer calamari and a side order of fries. The calamari was very greasy and not especially flavorful. By greasy I mean, there were pools of grease on the plate underneath the calamari. I would give the calamari a a very generous 2 on a scale of 1 to 5. The fries were a failure. I requested my fries extra crispy. Clearly that request was not put into the kitchen because the fries had the consistency of baked potato strips. They weren't especially hot, and they were soft. The fries get one out of five. Service was fast and extremely friendly. The server could not have been more kind and helpful. When there was a technical glitch with refilling my diet Coke, she kept me updated and apologized for the delay. Service was definitely five out of five. In the end, the price was way too high for the quality of the food. This is actually my second extremely mediocre experience with Pacific catch. The first was in Walnut Creek. While this was not an outright tragedy, I don't think I will be dining again at Pacific catch. read more

I love their fish options, the tacos platter, and the mixed catch platter (includes fried calamari, fried coconut shrimp, fried Alaskan cod, French fries, and coleslaw).
