The French Toast! Wow! Get it with bananas, it is so good. I was running an errand to south Orange County and wanted to stop for breakfast on the way. The service was friendly and it was their very inviting. I would definitely come here again. read more

Must try and a great spot to keep on your eatery rotation. Excellent flavors from a solid menu with good and friendly service. Ambience is simple, nice and clean, but it can get a bit noisy when they are full and busy. This Brea location serves as a much better spot from the old Placentia location. We must add that we did have one bad experience around service that had us waiting an hour for our food, keeping us at the restaurant for two hours for a party of two. After that we did not let that bother us since they were still settling into Brea, and we went back a few times after the experience. Rather than write a bad review from that one experience, we can say we got caught in a gap of their production cycle, which was during peak lunch hour on a Sunday afternoon. Our Nest is at the top of our rotation and we do not expect that to change as other restaurants have fallen out of our rotation :) read more

Some friends, and I tried this place for brunch ! Food was on point ! Chilaquiles were very yummy ! Chile Verde was on point ! It says in there ig they don't use seed oil, I called ahead to ask if it was beef tallow, they later confirmed it was avocado oil ! ( good to know ! ) Ambiance is nice, open, and pretty inviting over all, the crowd here is very much older/mid age white ppl, that just got out of church type of vibe, which like I'm not at all complaining, just if you're looking for a more loud, inclusive type of place this is not it. It is cozy, and inviting, but you'll definitely get some looks if you're not conservative. Service was very very on point, servers constantly checking on you, making sure everything is how/ what it's supposed to be. I accidentally spilled my Mimosa, and they were on top of it, floor, and table was cleaned asap, and new mimosa In front of me within minutes . WOW! Definitely coming back ! AGAIN IM NOT COMPLAINING, I'm just letting others know the vibe you're walking into :), but definitely worth it! Lots of seating, great drinks ! Great mimosas ! read more

So my first experience was in the Fullerton cafe. Amazing!! And brea did not disappoint. Food and drinks are still top tier. Not to mention the staff. If you're in the area, it's a must visit. read more

If you enjoy spending money at a place where the staff/ownership acts like you're inconveniencing them just for asking a question, then this is your spot. The service is cold, dismissive, and honestly makes you feel unwelcome from the start. The menu? Nothing special, just basic Mexican breakfast you can get at countless local spots, except those places actually treat you with respect and appreciate your business. What really stands out is how the owner handles feedback...by arguing with customers instead of taking any kind of accountability. At some point, you have to wonder if that's why the place seems to be getting slower and losing customers. Save your money and go somewhere that values both its food and its customers. read more

We came here for dinner two Fridays in a row. We love that it is a local spot and is helping to revitalize this shopping center. We had the Sopa de Tortilla both times and it might be the best tortilla soup in the history of the world. So good you will want to lick the bowl. The first night we had the beet salad- it was phenomenal. And the 1/2 chicken- incredible. The second night we had the wedge and the shrimp diablas. The wedge was classic, and the shrimp dish was awesome. We have yet to try the brunch, but we will!!! We also want to sit at the beautiful bar. Overall, a very vibe and excellent food. read more

Service is mot the greatest. Went in early Friday for breakfast. The servers are not attentive. They are busy eating or trying their food. Asked for corn tortilla and received flour. The place was not full so I would assume they can attend to their customers more.. the food is ok, nothing too spectacular. Would I try it again? Probably not. Just my personal opinion. I'd bring my business somewhere more worthy. read more

Came here because our sushi restaurant was closed for the weekend but we were glad we did. The service was great from the moment we got there. Ordered our food and they even split our wedge salad for us. It was definitely worth the price and was definitely a shareable portion. Ordered some fried stuff and it was great. The batter was perfect and it was even great after it cooled down. For our mains we split the NY Aged bone in and some bacon Brussel sprouts. We got our steak and it came rare and not medium rare but it as fine, the steak still has great flavor. The potatoes and the verges that came with the steak were pretty good too. We ordered the Brussel sprouts but it wasn't put in so we got it bit after the steak. It was still good but at that point we were already half way done with the steak once it came out. Overall it was a good experience. Menu looked very interesting and looking forward to coming back to try other things. read more

**don't go here if you have small kids We arrived on a Sunday morning hoping to enjoy a relaxed brunch as a family of four, including our three-month-old infant. As many parents do, we brought along our Doona car seat stroller, which is a compact, all-in-one design that cannot be separated. Upon requesting a table, we were immediately asked to detach the car seat and place the stroller in a designated parking area. We explained that this was not possible due to the design of the Doona. A staff member, who appeared to be a manager, reiterated the request and explained that, due to weekend crowds, they aim to minimize congestion by limiting strollers in dining areas. While we understood the concern, we were disappointed that no accommodation or alternative solution was offered. When we inquired about waiting for a table that might accommodate our setup, we were told that neither the indoor dining area nor the patio would have space available, regardless of wait time. This left us with no option but to change our plans entirely after making the trip. It was frustrating to feel dismissed without any flexibility, especially as we were willing to wait for a suitable table. Families with small children--particularly those using a Doona or similar non-detachable car seat stroller--may want to consider this policy before visiting, as it could result in an unexpected inconvenience. I should've know it wasn't kid friendly when I saw someone just casually walk in with a 6 pack of beer that was eating there. read more

Met up at Our Nest today with my very dear friend. We have always gone for breakfast and decided we really wanted to try some items from their lunch menu. We both got salads- I got a B.A.B.S bowl and my friend ordered the Grilled Lemon Salad....both were delicious, Our server Sarah B. was so nice and kind; and took the time to show us their Happy Hour and Dinner menus that they serve Thursday-Saturday... needless to say we have already made plans to go back! Thank you Sarah for a wonderful afternoon! See you again soon read more

The inside is nice and clean good ambiance. Seating is close together. The service was chaotic and confusing because no one specifically is assigned to your table. You have several people coming to get your order but when you get your food they disappear it was hard to get help. Pancakes are fluffy and cake-like. The chilaquiles burrito is amazing! read more

I really wanted to enjoy our experience at Our Nest, but unfortunately the customer service completely overshadowed the food. My group of 7 was initially seated at a table meant for 6 people, even though the restaurant was not busy. We had to ask for another table to be added because we were extremely cramped. The bigger issue came while ordering. The owner (wife) took our order and came across as very rushed and unwelcoming from the start. I was deciding between two menu items with very similar names: the "Carnitas Machaca Hash" and the "Carnitas Machaca" burrito. I specifically asked for recommendations because I was unsure what I wanted. After deciding, I ordered the hash plate dish -- not the burrito. When my food arrived incorrectly as a burrito, it was taken back, and the owner returned insisting that was what I ordered. My friend even pulled out the menu to clarify the difference between the two items. Instead of apologizing or acknowledging the confusion, the owner immediately blamed me, claiming I had pointed at the burrito when I never did. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of accountability or customer service. Rather than apologizing for the misunderstanding, she repeatedly implied I should just keep the incorrect item because remaking the correct dish would "take a long time" since they were busy. At no point was there any effort to resolve the situation in a welcoming or professional manner. As someone who comes from a family business and understands how difficult food service can be, I normally try to be very understanding. Mistakes happen everywhere. The issue was not the wrong order -- it was the way the situation was handled. Good customer service means listening to customers, communicating clearly, and taking ownership when there's confusion. I also noticed many other reviews mentioning similar experiences with customer service and defensive responses from ownership. I genuinely hope the owners take this feedback constructively because the way customers are treated has a huge impact on whether people return or recommend a business. read more

*My first 1-star review, unfortunately* My family and I would go here almost every week for a few months but unfortunately we will not be returning ever again. And it's for one reason: the owners. Long wait time to get seated? That's fine, I can deal with that. At least one of our orders being messed up almost every single time we've eaten here? That's fine, mistakes happen. Employees forgetting to seat us and gave our table to another party that arrived after us? Ok fine, it's busy, I get it. But disrespecting my family, not having common decency and not treating people as humans, especially as the owners? I will not tolerate. Please save yourself the trouble and do not come here. The owners are disrespectful, entitled and have no respect for you. If you even have the SLIGHTEST complaint or question regarding your food or service, they will make you feel like you, as the customer, are wrong and will respond extremely rude and condescending to you. Please give your money to small businesses that actually deserve it. Because this one 100% doesn't. read more

SO happy we found this place! We came in for breakfast and ordered the eggs Benedict with ham and the carnitas chilaquiles. Both were 10/10. Both dishes were flavorful and just SO good! Unfortunately, my family, wife and my newborn of just over 6 months had very terrible experience with rude customer service , a very hostile owner, and it was my 1st time with here. Took over an hour to get food, we just left because it was taking too long and we were very hungry. Others that sat down after us got their food first, we decided to leave for the very long wait time after seeing this. Overall I cannot recommend this place. If you like to wait over an hour, and be told you're wrong by a hostile owner and team come here! Food barely looked edible, I cook better than this place bland food, and definitely definitely not worth the overpriced food items. Unfriendly and undeserving staff, unprofessional, and the customers is always(usually) right idea absolutely does not apply not right here. If you anything goes wrong it's your fault. Not theirs. Not deserving of being given a second chance. A waste of my family's time all together. read more

If you ever find yourself in Brea, do yourself a flavor and flutter over to Our Nest, because that's where you'll meet the one, the only, the egg-ceptional Cody. From the moment we were seated, Cody swooped in with such warm hospitality I thought I'd accidentally ordered a side of sunshine. He didn't just serve our table, he perched attentively nearby, ready to tackle every request with poise and poultry-level precision. If attentiveness were a sport, he'd be the coop MVP. Let's talk service. Cody didn't just check in, he "checked-egg"ed in. Water glasses? Never empty. Coffee? Always refilled before we even realized we were running on fumes. Our questions about the menu? He cracked them open with knowledge so thorough I suspect he's secretly incubated there for years. When we asked for recommendations, he didn't wing it, he laid out options so thoughtfully curated I half-expected them to come with a nest egg of wisdom. And the personality? Absolutely eggs-traordinary. Cody has that rare ability to balance professionalism with playful charm. He was whisking around the dining room like a brunch-time ballet dancer, yet somehow still made us feel like the only chicks in the coop. His timing was impeccable, never hovering, never hen-pecking, just perfectly present. It's clear Cody doesn't just work at Our Nest, he belongs there. He embodies the spirit of the place: warm, welcoming, and a little bit cheeky. If customer service were measured in yolks, he'd be over-easy to give five out of five. Honestly, the whole experience was so delightful I'm still basking in the afterglow, call it post-brunch bliss or just good eggs-posure. So here's my shell-ebration of Cody: attentive without being over-easy, charming without being hard-boiled, and organized without ever scrambling under pressure. In a world full of average service, he truly rises--like the fluffiest soufflé. If you're heading to Our Nest, ask for Cody. Trust me, he'll make your visit egg-ceptional. And that's no yolk. read more

Came here after hearing great things about the food, and honestly I left wondering if we went to the same place everyone else reviewed. The Bloody Mary was hands-down the worst one I've ever had. Zero flavor. Not "subtle" -- literally tasted like watered-down tomato juice with sadness mixed in. I kept waiting for seasoning, spice, anything... and nothing ever showed up. Others ordered the mimosa and seemed to really enjoy it. Heard they freeze orange juice into an ice cube, definitely a novel idea and worthy of trying at home. Then came the loco moco disaster. Apparently this place decided to reinvent loco moco by layering sautéed spinach underneath the hamburger patty like it was some kind of fine dining salad situation. I'm sorry, but when I order loco moco, I'm not expecting a bed of wilted greens hiding under my beef patty. And because they have a strict no-modifications policy, I couldn't even ask for it without the spinach. So instead of comforting Hawaiian-style food, I got a weird health-food identity crisis on a plate. The spam fried rice had big vegetable chunks thrown in for no apparent reason. Maybe they were trying to think outside the box but small diced vegetables in fried rice is definitely the way to go. The hamburger patty itself was dry, overly salty, and tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. Service was generally fine. Waiter came by fairly often to refill drinks which is always appreciated. Although when I mentioned the food was salty I got kind of a half shrug and nothing else. The whole meal felt like a chef trying way too hard to put an "elevated modern twist" on dishes that never needed fixing in the first place. Sometimes simpler is better. Super disappointing experience after all the hype. read more

From breakfast to dinner, this place absolutely blew me away. I've officially found my new favorite spot. Every breakfast dish is incredible, perfectly cooked, flavorful, and fresh. But dinner? That's where they truly shine. From the perfectly seared steak to the melt-in-your-mouth sea bass and even the crispy, golden French fries, everything is over the top amazing. They went above and beyond to accommodate my gluten and dairy allergies, and let me tell you, they delivered on taste. You'd never guess anything was missing; every bite was bursting with rich, natural flavor. Big bonus points for not using seed oils. It's so rare to find a place this thoughtful about ingredients and health without sacrificing flavor. The service was warm, genuine, and attentive. The owners are fantastic, and you can tell they truly care about quality and their guests' experience. This place is seriously underrated. Every meal here feels like a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. read more

A friend and I tried this place for breakfast recently and neither one of us were very impressed. She had the pork hash, which came with beans and rice and tortillas and I had the pork breakfast tacos. Both of us thought the pork tasted a little bit funny. Kind of gamey perhaps. I ate almost all 3 tacos, but they weren't really that enjoyable and she only ate half of her food and was done. I won't say it was bad but it wasn't anything great, maybe we both ordered the wrong thing. I should've just gone with my gut and ordered pancakes. Live and learn. Something that bothered both of us were the split fees of $7.50. That was a real turn off because the prices were already expensive. Not sure if we would come back here or not. read more

We visited Our Nest a few weeks ago, the menu looked promising. After we were seated, I asked the server if a specific item contained eggs since I have an egg allergy. The manager showed up and informed me that he was refusing to serve me anything due to my food allergy, stating that he was not able to sufficiently clean to avoid cross contamination. He mentioned that he would need to completely take apart the cooking station in order to do this. I told him that I was fine with just cleaning and sanitizing the exposed cooking surfaces, that's what we do at home and all restaurants are supposed to do this anyway between orders. The manager still refused. I've had an egg allergy my entire life and this is the first time I've ever had this experience. Other breakfast places like Toast and Early Bird are very accommodating and have no problem serving customers with food allergies safely by sanitizing work surfaces. It's entirely within the right of the restaurant manager to refuse to serve customers, but I thought it was important to let people know about this so they can make an informed decision. EDIT: Jonpaul, I appreciate your comment. I stand by my review as it's based on the experience I had at your restaurant, especially in the context of every other restaurant I've patronized that served eggs being able to accommodate my allergy. I have no doubt your staff works very hard, and the reviews of patrons who were able to try your food reflect that. I did not ask you to stop production, I simply asked to have the person preparing my food sanitize their hands and the cooking surfaces before my order (which they should be doing anyway). I used to run a food service business myself and I understand that liability is a concern. Fortunately there are many liability insurance products out there that can protect food service businesses with relatively low premiums. I would encourage you to reach out to other local owners of breakfast restaurants to see how they handle accommodating food allergies. If you still want to refuse to provide those accommodations (which again is absolutely your right), this should at least be advertised on your web site and on the menus. read more

Our Nest - Great to share!! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Brea, California

Their "no stroller" rule was our first red flag, didn't make us feel welcome right off the bat. Not all babies can sit in a high chair. The place was large enough too so I don't know why they have that rule. You tuck the stroller into the table where someone would sit, no big deal. Second red flag, a lot of extra charges for things. For example some plates were charged extra for sharing, extra for iced coffee, fee for to go orders and gratuity was included with just five people or more. Everything is so expensive these days and all these extra charges are not appealing. Third red flag was the staff didn't make you feel welcomed at all. They'd ask how everything was as they walk real fast right by you. Our waitress gave us the bill and walked away, never smiled, never felt genuine. And fourth but not least red flag was the food lacked salt. The beans tasted like they were from a can. Overall, expensive place for lack luster food, bad service and all kinds of extra charges and rules. I want to eat breakfast where I feel welcomed not where I feel like I'm doing them a favor by being there. read more

Came here for brunch and immediately saw that this location didn't have the same selection as their Fullerton spot. My boyfriend went for the chilaquiles burrito with filet mignon (yes, burrito + steak = brunch goals), and he said it was spot-on--the meat cooked just right. I ordered the berry burrata sandwich, which was tasty, but someone in the kitchen clearly has a deep love affair with arugula... because wow, it was stuffed to the brim with it. We sat in the "patio," which turned out not to be outdoors at all but more of a private glass-enclosed room. Food? Really good. Service? Let's just say flagging down a waiter felt like trying to catch a taxi in the rain--possible, but not easy. Overall, solid brunch, but I'd come back with a little extra patience (and maybe request light on the arugula). read more

First of all if I could, I would rate the restaurant 3.5 starts. The four of us (2 couples) visited Our Nest for a brunch on a Thursday at 11am. We regularly get together and go out for a meal. Note that we are 4 retired seniors, and I wear hearing aids. The restaurant was somewhat dark and we had a bit of difficulty reading the menu. There was loud music and the restaurant did not have much sound deadening materials on the ceiling and walls. I ordered an omelette and found it very tasty. My wife ordered waffles with fruit and enjoyed it. An order of eggs and their version of Avocado Toast (with a lot of avocado) was very good. 2 of us ordered the Our Potatoes which were fingerling potatoes cut into good-sized pieces. There was just a light seasoning on them and they were cooked slightly so, they were almost "crunchy." I found them ok but, I would probably go for the hash browns or tater tots if we returned. Our other friend did not like them at all. My wife asked about a decaf coffee and they did not have the capability to make it but, informed us that they were in the process of getting the equipment to make a decaf coffee. She ordered the Latte with caffeine, and enjoyed it. Note the menu does indicate that an 18% gratuity is charged for parties of 5 or more and 22% for parties of 8 or more. Butter was free but, the jam for my English Muffin was 50 cents. When our bill came, there was a lower total for cash. I would probably come again but, one friend with the potatoes did not want to return. read more
