Great concept for a Food truck I love me some Fish and Chips after spending many years in Scotland eating real Fish and Chips. The prices seems very reasonable considering you are eating from a food truck. You get three good size pieces with you order, small chips ( double fried french fries), ketchup, malt vinegar, also tartar sauce and a couple of other dips. They have clam chowder soup and type types of drinks beside water. Bottled water is $2.00 very reasonable. Soda's are $3.00 each. Spent around 17 dollars for fish and chips. Service was very good when placing your order the gentlemen tells you that it will take 5-7 minutes which is reasonable for a food truck. Looked like three people working inside the truck Had a good size line when I pulled up to order. You eat in your vehicle or on the tail gate of your truck This food truck was in the Lowes Parking Lot in Temple, Texas. I had some great COD (4 pieces got an extra one) they cooked it perfectly the best I have had in a long time. Not impressed with the fries, was hoping for chip cut potatoes like you get overseas.

I've had On the Hook a few times over the years when their food trick is nearby. It's a pretty good option if you're craving fish and chips because not a lot of places specialize in them. They are more American style with long and skinner fried fish that has a thick batter. That's my main downside is that the fish are dredged with batter and a lot of your bite is breading and not fish. The fries are crispy and good. Tartar sauce tastes fresh as well. Everything is fried fresh and comes out piping hot which is great.

Can't wait for some awesome fish and chips.

East Ft. Worth location. We got there right when the truck was winding up their time at the Eastchase stop. There was no line so service was super quick. The fish and chips were what I expected and prepared as expected. The three pieces are an ample amount to satisfy my craving for fish and chips. Totally yummy. I love their sweet chili sauce.

I've been frequenting On The Hook for the last couple of years when they are in Plano or near Little Elm. This used to be the ultimate go-to for delicious fish and chips, but the portion of fries has significantly decreased while the prices continue to climb. I'm not sure if certain trucks are being frugal or if this is the new norm, but I don't feel like I get $19 worth of food anymore, and it's been like this for a while now. I haven't found a place with better fish (Alaskan cod) and chips yet, so I keep coming back. It just doesn't feel worth it anymore.

This what I got for $14 Q til is for size comparison

You get 3 stars cause the food was good. But for $14 all u get is three little pieces of meat SIDES ARE NOT INCLUDED THE French fries are extra if you want them. I work hard for my money this is to expensive for my blood. I'll be going to Long John Silver's from now on.

Stopped by while they visited Kerrville. Best fish food truck I've had to date. New yelp account, fourth fish food truck. Price was on point. Sunny and the crew told everyone 6-7 minutes for order. They were exactly that. COD was crisp and should had gotten two orders of fries for a snack at midnight. Very good. Back in Kerrville October.

    Fish and chips

Food taste great. Good fish and fries. Not a big fan of the cole slaw. Also my tray was worth the price(first pic). My sisters look like they just took 3 strips and said "this'll do"(second pic). And the first pic was after I already ate some. Don't really agree with the portion for the $18 price tag. Clam chowder was good.

Cod Sandwich and fries with a tasty root beer.

It was ok. Coleslaw wasn't what I expected. I'd eat again but wouldn't rush to go track down the food truck.

Fish was bland, French fries were ok... very expensive for the portions and what we received. Will not buy again.

After coming back, I think Salty Sow is incredibly underrated and slept on... I already can't wait to visit again and will definitely recommend it to others!

They all qualified for the happy hour except for the lobster pasta. Everything tasted amazing. I enjoyed the crab fingers the most because it was flavorful and left me wanting more. The oysters were so good as were the fried shrimp. The lobster pasta was also a highlight of my meal because it had chunks of lobster meat. The restaurant was surprisingly large. It doesn't look much from the outside but when you walk in, you immediately see how spacious the dining space is. There are large couches and tables. Staff is friendly and service is quick. Parking can be challenging to find since you'd need to park on streets.

I added an egg, and it made for a healthy, delicious, and satisfying lunch. My husband, however, ordered the gumbo, and that dish was unfortunately disappointing. It was watery, very salty, and came with barely any rice, so we ended up with a lot of salty stew left over. There also wasn't much crab or shrimp, and the seafood we did find was tough and overcooked. Based on other reviews, I can see why Mongers may still be worth another visit if you stick strictly to their seafood-focused dishes. But based on this experience, it felt a little too much like a gamble, so I'm not sure I'd personally rush back.
