Cool WPA-style murals inside.

Was craving some fish, chips, burgers, and some root beer to wash it all down. What to do? Luckily, some entrepreneurial corporate genius at Yum brands said, "Hey, why don't we smoosh a Long John Silver's together with an A&W Root beer?" From the outside the restaurant looked bit worn, but inside it was clean and well ordered. Service was fast and friendly. And the fish & chips were freshly made, yay! The burger was excellent and served with real pickle chips, not the sad ones you get at the Golden Arches. Overall, this was an excellent establishment and I'll be back again when I get that specific itch I need to scratch. This place scores a 5 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.

We love Long John Silver's fish. Unfortunately we have to drive at least 25 miles to get it.

Did not include condiments ie tartar sauce, vinegar Or ketchup. Don't think I'll do this again or recommend. Ruined the entire experience

I used to love the Fish. I'm not sure what changed but I don't eat either place. First bite was my last.

After thrifting on Saturday, a friend of mine and I landed at BD Riley's Irish Pub at Mueller. OMG…read moreit was so much fun!!! This place is huge with so much character. Traditional Irish artifacts filled the restaurant / bar. B. D. Riley's was celebrating St. Patrick's Day on Saturday, March 14 with live music, Irish food, Guinness, dancers, bagpipes, etc. No cover charge and many families were present (family friendly times). The excitement and enthusiasm was contagious! You could hear the roar of laughter and the occasional Irish call out. It is rare you can have so much clean fun with no fear of violence. We visited for a couple of hours. Highly recommend BD Riley's.

But that is nothing compared to how awful the food is. Growing up and living in Boston I was accustomed to Irish Pubs that took pride in the food they made. Let's be honest - Irish food in general is not very good but the pubs I went to in Boston elevated the fare. If it is in fact true that BD Riley's is run by someone from Boston then he or she should be ashamed of the food they serve. It's like they have a 10 year old cooking the food. I'll be honest--I didn't walk into Fish City Grill with high expectations…read more And I love being wrong like that. My aunt and I grabbed seats at the bar for a casual lunch and a cocktail, and from the moment we sat down, it was just... easy. Comfortable. The kind of experience that sneaks up on you in the best way. I wish I could remember our bartender's name because he deserves his moment--absolute doll. Attentive without hovering, friendly without forcing it, and just genuinely good at what he does. That kind of service sets the tone for everything else. I ordered the crab cake, and let me tell you--it delivered. Nicely done, flavorful, and clearly not an afterthought on the menu. Pair that with a really solid cocktail, and suddenly this "let's just grab something quick" lunch turned into a whole vibe. What stood out most was how pleasantly surprised I was at every turn. Nothing overhyped, nothing trying too hard--just good food, great service, and a spot that knows exactly what it's doing. Safe to say, I'll absolutely be back. There's more of that menu calling my name.

We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. My taco plate came with three very full tacos on very fresh tortillas. The beans and rice were perfect. The wine was very, very good. Our server was Jen. She was perfect! She explained the menu to us. Learning of my dietary restrictions she promptly got me a gluten-free menu to make my ordering a little bit easier. She helped me customize my meal to meet my dietary restrictions, to the point of checking on the cooking and making sure it was done correctly. She was kind, our service was prompt. She checked on us. We could not have had better service! They have half price bottles of wine on Monday! Now I have a reason to come on Monday! They have different specials all the time. Tonight they had a cod special that looks really yummy. They have many tables and booths inside and they have a beautiful bar. There's often times waiting to be seated, but not at the bar, you can always sit at the bar if there's a spot available and they will serve you there. So put this evening in a nutshell, service, outstanding! Thank you, Jen! Food amazing! I can clearly say I love this place I'll be back!

I'm talking full Top Gun energy and not a lonely burger doing all the narrative heavy lifting like it just lost Goose. Where were the Wingman Wings, the Danger Zone Nachos, or the You Can Be My Wingman Fries? They had a brownie with ice cream and couldn't even call it the Iceman Cometh. It really made me lose that loving feeling when I saw how management was writing checks its menu couldn't cash. Food itself was fine, big portions with a low altitude buzz over Flavortown. Vibe is chill Texas roadhouse, service is more holding pattern than catapult launch, but the staff is friendly and the food lands the plane.
