The chips were perfect--freshly made, crisp, just salty enough and not too greasy. The salsa was good and went well mixed with their traditional guacamole. I had their chicken flautas as my meal and they were delicious. My husband had a trio of tacos: battered and fried tilapia, grilled tilapia, and carne asada and he enjoyed them. We were both stuffed afterwards and sill had something left to take home. The service was on point. I didn't quite catch the young man's name--possibly Maurice? The hostess stand was amazing. We got seated and I had to use the restroom. I comeback and the waitress is already telling my boyfriend the specials with my purse on the table so I ask what's going on. Our waitress walks away. I wait for her to comeback and she immediately asks for our full order so I ask her for a repeat of the specials since my boyfriend and I are having a extra nice date night. She barely looks at me and repeats the specials. I have her comeback around she doesn't acknowledge I can't have spicy peppers or peppers in my drink. I tell her I want a specific drink without and she asks me "what?" and I have to explain the situation again. I ordered and immediately canceled our drinks and our appetizers. This was our first time dining here and we enjoyed our experience very much. We wanted to catch the sunset so we asked to sit outside and the view was so nice! Our server was Daniel and he was great! (Side note: We ended up coming back the following night, not only for the views, but because Daniel is awesome.) He never rushed us, told us to take our time with the menu and was attentive throughout our dinner. For drinks, we ordered margaritas. Skinny margarita for me. Cadillac margarita for him. Drinks were strong but good! For food, I ordered the enchilada con ribeye and my husband had the chicken ola burrito. I was expecting the ribeye to be inside the enchilada but it was actually placed on top. The enchilada was filled with cheese so when you bite into it, it's nothing but cheesy goodness. This was my second time trying Ola's. The first time I tried the vegan tacos, which I was not a fan of because they were dry and just tasted weird. I tried the Ola burrito this time, it was good but it did not feel like anything special. Plus the price for just the burrito and nothing else was kind of disappointing. Also, if you are vegetarian, make sure to sub the normal rice and black beans that come in the burrito with unseasoned rice and pinto beans - the normal rice and black beans have animal product in it. Had a reservation and was seated right away. The food is really good but the service sucks. It takes forever to get water, drinks, food and the check. Our server was randomly outside of the restaurant and was walking back in through the exit after us waiting forever for the check. This also happened the last time I went here but I just thought it was a fluke. I asked for validation and they said they don't so that but the mall has 90 minutes free. I'd literally been there over 90 minutes at that point. Anyways, real stars of the shoe is food... tried the tacos this time and loved the carnitas tacos. I also got a pork belly taco and it was a little dry but still very tasty. Came here after rollerskating with a girl friend. We tried the holiday margarita which was cranberry cinnamon or something like that. It was really good! There were a lot of tasty sounding cocktail options so might come back just for those! Service was great. She had to keep coming back because we weren't ready but she was very patient and also explained some things in the menu to us which we appreciated! For example, it was extremely helpful to learn that a plate of rice and beans (add-on) is big enough for two people to share. We were glad we only got one cause we still couldn't finish it between the two of us. We both ordered a two taco plate and got a tamale as our "second taco." The tamale was delicioussss. The taco was okay. Nothing extraordinary. With the amount of chips and salsa I ate before our food came, I was low on stomach space so I couldn't finish everything and ended up getting a small box to take the food home with me. The beans and rice were also just okay. Not particularly tasty unfortunately. Had higher expectations for the taste of the food due to the price. I think it was a bit expensive for the quality of food we received. We sat kinda near the window and could see the ocean from where we sat. The ambiance was great. I was so disappointed with my food here. First disappointment we noticed was the dishes are really dirty here. My whole family observed that. Second disappointment, was the flavors were very bland to me for a Mexican food restaurant. Third disappointment was my margarita had a piece of foil in it. When I asked the waiter about the foil (side bar she was amazing btw) she said she'll take the drink back to the bartender and find out what happened. The manager came back, he informed me that the foil came from a beer that was probably opened right next to my glass! Not cool right!? He asked if I wanted another drink I said sure why not. This was my first time at Ola, and as soon as my friend and I took our seats at the outdoor bar, I was already in love with the vibes. It truly mimics the feeling of being on vacation, sipping on margaritas beachside. It is located within the 2nd and PCH shopping center, and offers an attached gated parking structure. There is no validation for parking however in exchange, the first 90 minutes are free. After that it is $2 for every 20 minutes (so $1 every so minutes which isn't bad) We got there around 1pm on a Thursday, so needless to say there was very little traffic. There was one bartender tending to the bar, and besides the two of us, there was one other gentleman at the bar having lunch. The bartender was in and out of the bar area, and somewhat attentive however there were several times that we did have to flag her down. Also, we did order drinks at the bar however we were never brought or offered water, which I thought was odd. Moving onto the food and drinks. I ordered the dragon, which consisted of watermelon, jalapeño, and Casamigos Blanco. It was delightful! the price point was admittedly very high at $18 however this was a treat yourself kind of lunch lol. For food I ordered their Acapulco ceviche, which was also really good but, steep at $19 given the portion. Once we placed our food orders, we were brought chips and salsa as well. We enjoyed our lunch, took advantage of the ambience, and enjoyed nice conversation as we overlooked the boat docks on a beautiful afternoon. Overall a really good experience and I will definitely come back on occasion but, it definitely will not be a consistent lunch spot due to price. Honestly it really just comes down to the food which lacks any and all flavor. The salsas tasted like nothing much but the red salsa specifically tasted like ketchup. Ketchup without salt. We took our moms here after a spa day and it was really disappointing. I would not recommend this place if you're looking for flavorful "Mexican" food. Went to the restaurant for the first time yesterday, for a surprise birthday lunch. It was just around 2:20pm and the restaurant is fairly empty. I was early so I decided to go to the bar before being seated. I sat there for 15 mins and the only person who responded to my greeting or even acknowledged me, was the guy cleaning the bar. One bartender was busy talking about how she cut her hand that morning and the other just looked at me and pretended she was busy. Fortunately, we were taken to our table and our wait staff was excellent! They really saved this experience for me. The food was delicious, the drinks I eventually got were tasty, and the cost to me was reasonable. The patio ambiance is stellar with great a view of the water and boats, and there's a fireplace. The patio seating was comfortable and also the restroom was clean. I had a lovely time with my friends and I would return to this restaurant, but I will never do the bar seating again. read more

Wait is preciously long, especially at an off time of 2 PM, but the food is fresh and tastes great! I ordered the watermelon beet salad and I would 100% get it again. I had a sip of my husband's watermelon spicy margarita and it was good, but not my favorite. Would try a regular margarita though! Hubby got the ceviche and the tortilla soup and the tortilla soup was on the thicker side but flavor was good. Ceviche was fantastic and I would definitely get that if we come back. Our daughter (darling third wheel lol), got chicken quesadillas and loved it and actually ate it all, which is a big deal.
