I just came in for the very first time because I needed to hit the eye glass repair in the same parking lot and found they opened later on Sunday's. So I took myself to sushi brunch. Oh sushi wasn't quite open yet but they let me come inside and use the restroom and wait inside while they finished setting up. My waitress was very nice and attentive. The prices were very reasonable on the menu, which made me a little bit wary at first but the place quickly filled with people who already knew what they wanted so I figured it must be pretty good to have regulars right at opening time. I got the golden tiger roll, it was a little spicier than I anticipated, topped with a little siracha which wasn't specified on the menu but it was still INCREDIBLY good!!!! I also had a bowl of miso soup and it too came HOT and was very good for a plain soup. The roll was big enough that I got a box, and my bill was less than $10! Unless I get get food poisoning later, I will definitely be back and would recommend this to people who like sushi. Next time I will try the dynamite roll. read more

This place is right by my house so I frequently go here either to dine in or order to-go. The servers are always sweet and the sushi is always good quality! Whenever I order to-go the wait is never too long and same with dining in, the servers are always attentive. My only issue is that when I go to call in an order no one ever seems to answer the phone. I went here for the second time today. Their sushi is o.k. I 've had better but I've also had worse. Today, since it was rainy and cold, I decided to get the udon. It tasted great and so did the tempura that came with it. The only problem was that there was not enough udon for the price that they wanted to charge ($11.50). There were only a few noodles swimming around and only two pieces of fish cake. It's a good portion if you're not hungry. But if your looking to have a FULL meal, skip this item. This place is small and quiet and the food was awesome! They start you out with miso soup if you get a combination plate which I did. The plate also comes with a salad and rice. I got the two plate option with spicy sesame chicken which wasn't to spicy and Korean BBQ. Service was great and the food was fresh and great portions. read more

Oh Sushi used to be a good place a few years back. The past few times it has not been too good, and the service has been terrible. After many months of not returning, my husband and I went back this evening to try it again and were very disappointed. The food was bland and not at all like it used to be. It has changed in quality. The service was very slow and not good at all. They never ask to fill drinks, bring napkins, or any typical courtesies. Normally when you call in or go in at lunch time the service is fast and the food is good. But don't try that at 4:30 PM. I called and called and no one answered the phone. Then I called back and the line was busy. So I waited a couple of minutes and called again and the phone just rang. So I drove there, got in the door, the waiter said Hi then he was serving tables (it wasn't that busy) and never said another word. Another customer came in and stood behind me. After waiting 10 minutes to be waited on I finally said "well I guess they don't want my business!" And walked out. I will not go back there unless there is no other choice! the sushi was pretty basic but the menu said it was 50% off. at the end of my meal I asked why the 50% wasn't applied and they said the menu price is 50%. That would mean they're charging $20 for a basic roll . I gave the waitress a look and she said she knows and feels the same way but the manager won't change it. I am a long time fan of Oh! Sushi for their ability to deliver value. With their new lower prices (with the exception of the Sashimi salad, that seemed to actually go up in price) and their 1/2 off liquor prices (all day; everyday now!) this place continues to do what I've thought they've always done best with excellent service, particularly with their sushi chef Dennis, who seemed to have made it his personal mission to bestow the best dining experience that he possibly could (and did quite well). There is fresher sushi in the area out there, but I don't mind sacrificing quality for price when you are looking for more bang for your buck. The Oh! Boy roll (spicy crab & avocado, tempura battered & fried) seems to have been the crowd favorite with my group of friends and it did not disappoint. I will definitely be back soon. read more

We ordered and the prices seemed reasonable. Our food took about 15 mintues. Of all the rolls my favorite was The Golden Tiger. We will definitely be coming back. It was my first time coming to Oh Sushi so I wasn't sure if I was supposed to take a seat or wait to be seated. After 5 minutes of no one saying anything to me, I took a seat. I looked through the menu and decided what I wanted. There was only one server so thats what I attributed to the slow service. I had been sitting for another 5 minutes without being asked if I would like anything to drink or anything for that matter. A couple came in and were immediately greeted and told to sit anywhere they'd like. The server then took their drink orders and served another table. Finally he walks past me and says "Did you need something? To go?". At that point I stood up and said "Yes I need to leave. Ill never come back here". Luckily I found Yokozuna and they had WONDERFUL customer service. My experience at Oh Sushi was humiliating and I will never step foot inside again. read more

I've been there 3 time for lunch now. They do really great sushi. Actually the best I've found in the Ventura area. The presentation is really nice, with fresh orchids to garnish. The fish was fresh and very tasty - had hamachi, hirame, toro and tekka temaki - all were very good. The coconut fried shrimp are a good treat as well. They have several large flat screen TVs that seem to be on football all the time, so I asked the chef, who spoke "very little english", if he liked football and he said, "no - we don't watch - this is America so we have big TVs!" Sucks. Soooo much rice in the rolls compared to other sushi places. I never see so much rice in a maki roll in my intire life. The topping on the rolls (avacado, fish, etc.) were sliced paper thin and didnt bring out any of the the toppings flavor. If you get a spicy fish roll, you will taste more spice than acual fish. They don't even put any rice vinegar that other sushi places don't miss. For the amount of rice that is included in their rolls, its very noticeable when a classic sushi ingredient is missing. It comes strait from the rice cooker into the roll.They claimed to have 49 items at a 50% discount but there isn't even 49 discounted items on the menu. Half of the 50% discount are drinks. They Charge $2 for 1 cup of tea and didn't even offer to refill it up with hot water. I just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible...Very dissapointed. I called to place a phone order for pick up. The phone rang over 30 times with no voicemail then someone finally decided to pick up the phone and place it on the counter while they continued to help a customer that was paying they never bothered to ask if I could hold and they never bothered to come back on the line they just kept going about their business and never picked up my phone call. so I hung up and called back a second time and the phone rang about 15 times when they again just picked up the phone and placed it on the counter and I could hear in the background that the person at the counter just kept working. I hung up a 2nd time and now I keep getting a busy signal. If you don't have time to pickup the phone than you should consider hiring more staff to help with your customer service.
