I've had mostly good experiences at Anaba, and I have to say that my main gripe is communication. Both of my bad experiences had to do with waiting. Once it was waiting for a server to come take our order, and more recently it was waiting for my to-go order. Put simply, the to-go order was placed at 6pm, I was told it would take 20 minutes. I showed up at 6:20 and the gentleman told me it was just being made right then, so it was going to be a few minutes. I didn't get my food til 7pm, after I flagged down the manager and she personally looked into it. An hour is insane. Now I was also told that they were down one sushi chef and that they had a huge order (approx $800 of sushi) but stilllll. The food here has always been quality, and parking can be a struggle on busy nights. The ambiance of the restaurant is fine, nothing to write home about. read more

A bit conflicted about my experience. The food was ready pretty quick and the server Kenny was friendly. The food tasted fairly fresh and the pieces about average size. Con: -unfortunately have to start with this. We found a METAL SHAVING in our yakisoba. It was pretty rigid and pretty big, as well. We ate quite a bit before we noticed it so nervous we could've possibly ate some smaller pieces. Thank god we noticed because I was serving myself onto my plate so I would've put it in my mouth if I didn't see it. -the soft shell crab was a pretty small crab/2-piece for the price and was very salty. Pro: -the sushi tostada was more portion than we expected it to be and pretty good. Fully loaded as well and a good flavor of fish and avocado with sauce. -the sushi pieces were pretty fresh tasting but wish they were alittle bigger. Despite the overall experience, we don't feel comfortable coming back knowing that this could occur or maybe stay away from anything that is made on the grill, stovetop. read more

Came here for the Salmon Roll, left after eating the Eel bowl and a happy man. The entree is called Unaju and comes with miso soup and salad. The meal was delicious, not overly flavored but you can still taste the combination of the eel sauce, eel meat, and rice. The eel meat was soft and melts in your mouth but still had parts where it's crispy meaning it was grilled perfectly. The crispness with the sweetness with the eel sauce combined with the umami flavor of the eel was enjoyable. The dish is a bit pricey but what isn't these days. I would say I would have preferred to have the eel sauce to be a bit lighter as to be able to taste the eel better. read more

My husband and I had dinner here for the first time, we have only ever gotten to-go before. It was a wonderful dining experience. The sushi was incredible, so tender and fresh. The service was great and so attentive. We felt really welcomed by the staff. We split the Crabby Heart Attack and I ordered Sushi Combo C. The Crabby Heart Attack was an explosion of flavor and so filling. The salad and miso soup that came with Sushi Combo C were great and all of the nigiri was unbelievably tasty. We also ordered the Fresh Wasabi which was such a wonderful addition to every bite. I will definitely be ordering the fresh wasabi everytime from now on. The vibe was great, lots of people for a Thursday night, lots of regulars who were chatting at the bar and being super familiar with the staff. Parking is easy, there is a big shared lot. Last night 08/12/2026 at around 9pm to 9:20pm I was parked right in front of this restaurant and I saw a old asian man who I think is probably the owner or manager verbally abusing severely to a young employee, there was the old man yelling at the young man really bad for over 10 minutes, it was late night so there wasn't anybody close by only them, the young employee was in between that little corner on the red circle I marked in the picture, he didn't spoke a word, he was about to cry, his eyes were wet! While the old man keeps coming towards the employee, there was an old lady right next to the employee she didn't spoke a word neither she was kind of supporting the young guy, this behavior shouldn't be tolerated, this happens right front of the restaurant I can't even imagine how he treats his people when no one is around, I wish I could've recorded the situation but my phone was out off battery, the I did post data and time I'm sure the right person can check the cameras around the building, that employee was harassed. read more

Ordered online for takeout. For the type of seafood that are in these rolls (imitation crab, shrimp tempura, spicy tuna etc) I'd say they are a bit overpriced. However the portions and size of the rolls make up for it. I really enjoyed the mixed seafood tempura, for $16 it was enough for two with some leftovers. We were definitely full and satisfied with our order. It was super busy close to closing on a Saturday. Would order takeout again. read more

TLDR: Get the blue crab handroll, service was excellent, restaurant looks like it's stuck in the early 2000's, but the coastal view made it nice. Service - Service was very excellent, the waiter sat us down pretty fast and was very consistent with checking in with us. Food - Besides the Blue Crab Handroll everything was not worth the price. The food wasn't bad per se, but it didn't meet the expectations of my wallet. Overall the food was mediocre in relation to the cost. If prices went down and they cleaned up the menu, I'd come back. We're never disappointed with Anaba. The sashimi is amazing. We started with a gyoza, and a tuna roll. Both fresh and delicious. Then we ordered yellowtail belly, salmon belly, and amber jack sashimi. All as per usual, were fresh and delicious. Portions are a good size and the plating is very nice. read more

What can be better than sushi? Sushi by the water. Anaba is a great sushi restaurant located at the Seabridge Marketplace and serves great sushi. We were in town on a Sunday and decided to treat our friends here. There was a wait, and we took it as a good indication the food would be worth it. The staff was friendly from the start. They estimated our wait time would be 20 min and they were pretty spot on. Our group of 6 ordered a variety of dishes- tonkatsu ramen, salmon collar, yellowtail collar. I ordered the chirashi. They presented the dishes very well. My chirashi was beautiful. And everything was fresh and delicious! Definitely recommend it. Great sushi spot. Lots of parking in the parking lot and a good amount of things around the plaza. We had some standouts with the crispy tuna rice and the el diablo roll. They were soooo good. Peter was making the sushi right in front of us and he says he makes the el diablo hot sauce himself. The hot sauce was so so good and the crispy tuna rice had so much tuna on top. Cute restaurant too with plenty of seating. Didn't have to wait long to be seated. Bathrooms were clean enough , though the ladies soap dispenser wasn't working (not a big deal though). My kid got sick here as soon as we arrived so we ended up sitting at the table outside and doing take out. Huge shout out to the staff that helped and accommodated us. Our server Jasmine was so kind despite our accident and the food was delicious. I got the tuna belly sashimi, eel roll, scallop roll, and octopus nigiri. Also had a urinal and toilet separate so I could split no. 1 and 2 if necessary. I hate hand dryers, and we were offered both options. So that was very kind of them. Anaba had very fresh sushi and a lot of creative varieties. We got one sushi C that had mixed sushi with salad and miso soup. Normally I don't like Miso soup much, but this one was less salty and had good miso flavor. The lobster tail was our favorite with good amount of lobster and not too heavy. read more

Sixteen years after my last review I decided to give them another try. Looks like all new chefs and a much busier place. The sashimi was top notch and likely the best in the area. Really attentive sushi chefs that make my custom orders without a question. Staff are on the spot and arrive quickly and then step back out of your space. Been here a few times and has always been a good experience, at least for me. It can get busy sometimes with 20-40 min wait times but worth the wait. Sushi is always fresh. Service is excellent. It's just pricey. Golden Tiger is delicious! My partner doesn't like raw fish but he tried it and loved it! He even got it again the second time we went. 10/10 Wooley Roll seems to be pretty small and cut thin compared to other rolls. Still tastes good though. It has blue crab and eel in it. 7/10 Rock N Roll was good aswell. It has salmon and shrimp tempura with creamcheese. 8/10 Miso soup wasn't too salty it was just perfect so was the edamame. read more

Anaba is my favorite sushi spot -- the food is always fresh, flavorful, and consistently great. Unfortunately, the service really brings the experience down. Once your food arrives, the servers rarely check back, and it's almost always necessary to flag someone down for any kind of service (and that's after several attempts before you even get someone's attention). Today was by far the worst service I've experienced, which was really disappointing. I truly hope they improve their service because it discourages you from coming back. Next to the harbor with views of the boats, it is a well-decorated and well-staffed. Beautiful. Service was professional and responsive. I went in right before their break in between lunch and dinner and they were quick! The food was super good. Garlic Tuna and the Sunset Roll were delicious. Super satisfying. I stopped eating sushi for many years because no one else in my family likes sushi. Anaba is a game-changer! I took my oldest child here a couple years ago and I was thrilled she at least loved the tempura. I ordered my sashimi and other favorites while she stayed in the safety zone of cooked items (we both love the unagi). We came into the restaurant a couple weeks ago and she finally was willing to taste something raw. I ordered the halibut and ...she loved it. Came back a couple days ago and I sat in awe and bliss as I watched my once-cautious child eating raw salmon, two different kinds of roe, and anything else we ordered (which was a lot). She now understands the addictive element to great sushi and Anaba is truly the best place in terms of quality and affordability. We will be back to explore the very exhaustive menu and I'm looking forward to sharing this newfound pastime with her. We are both obsessed! read more

We happened to be in the area because we actually planned to eat somewhere else, but they were unexpectedly closed so ended up deciding to grab sushi around the area. We had to wait about 20-25 minutes around 7:45 PM on Friday night. Although I was getting a bit hangry, I had a feeling it was going to be pretty good if this many people were waiting. The menu is quite extensive and can be a little overwhelming, but I don't think you can go wrong. The items are on the pricier side, but I think they are pretty generous with the portions of fish and everything tasted fresh. The food also came out really fast, which was a huge bonus especially because I was starving! We ordered the edamame and killer calamari rings to start. The batter was nice and crunchy, but I do wish there was more calamari since it seemed like half the plate was batter. For the rolls, we ordered the Sunset Roll and Salmon Delight. Sunset Roll is very refreshing and Salmon Delight is a little more rich. I was very pleasantly surprised by the fish-to-rice ratio of the rolls. It has a very nice casual-classy ambiance and there were several parties celebrating birthdays. Service was very friendly! read more
