Really pretty and unique café I absolutely loved all the flag decor throughout the space--it's one of the first things you notice when you walk in and it gives the place such a fun vibe. Everyone was super welcoming, from the host to our waiter, which made the experience even better. They also have a coffee bar where you can just walk in and grab a drink without waiting, which is a huge plus. We came for brunch/breakfast, and while everything was good, I did notice they lean more toward brunch options rather than a wide variety of breakfast items. I started with my usual sugar-free vanilla oat latte, and it was sooo good--perfectly creamy and not too sweet, just how I like it. For food, I ordered the chicken parm panini with a side salad, and it did not disappoint. The bread was a little overwhelming, so I took some off, but overall it was still really good. We also tried the chicken and waffles--personally not my thing, but my boyfriend said it was just okay. They also didn't have ranch for the fried chicken, which was a bit of a downside. Service was amazing--Brandon was super accommodating, friendly, and answered all of our questions. Overall, such a great experience! I'd definitely come back with my girls for mimosas

I came here for my birthday for brunch on a Sunday. First of all the wait staff was incredibly on top of things and very welcoming. The food was top tier. I got the Aunt Anna eggs Benedict. I love that there were red potatoes and I appreciate that the fruit served with it was really fresh and something I enjoyed versus frozen melons served at other cafes. You know I had to try the cafe de Olla latte. It was perfection! They also give me a birthday tiramisu that I took to-go. Thank you!

Came here after a friend of mine recommended this restaurant to me. I love Italian food, especially authentic Italian food, so I was excited to try it. I was surprised to see that it was quite busy for the middle of the day on a Monday. But even though it was busy, we were seated right away. The restaurant is pretty, with different flags hanging all around. I like how bright and spacious it is. I don't like to sit too close to other people I don't know while I eat. One of the waitresses noticed that the sun was hitting me, so she asked me if I wanted her to lower the blinds, which was nice of her. After going through the menu, I decided to order their spaghetti and meatballs that they serve in a bread bowl! I had never heard of that before. The meatballs were hand-made and freshly made. The pasta was also cooked to perfection. My husband ordered their carbonara, and I have to say we both knew that their bacon had to be imported because it tasted just like the bacon we had in our recent trip to Italy. Very delicious and authentic food.

Not my order. Sent it back.

Sat quickly though the water glass didn't match my lip gloss. Wrong eggs Benedict served. When I did get the right one.....Salmon with Capers , slim on the salmon, hardly a caper or a red onion. It fell flat.

We stopped by for a quick lunch on a Friday afternoon on the way to SLO. We found street parking. We shared a breakfast lasagna. It was very good. To drink my husband had the espresso martini (it is heavy on the espresso) and I had the empress gin spritz. Both good cocktails. Service was friendly and attentive. Cortni was our server and she was lovely. The restaurant was very warm and inviting.

A Must-Visit Family Gem at The Collection! We had a wonderful breakfast at Immigrant Cafe. Despite the house being packed, the service was excellent--attentive and seamless. It's clear why there is so much positive word-of-mouth surrounding this family-owned local eatery. The atmosphere is beautiful; it features a fresh, contemporary aesthetic that feels upscale without being overstated. The Food: * Eggs Benedict: Perfectly executed and very tasty. * Giovanni Omelette: A meat-lover's dream! Loaded with savory prosciutto and pancetta. * Buttermilk Pancakes: Topped with strawberries and Nutella, these were a massive hit with my daughter. The drinks were a highlight, and the pricing is very fair for the quality and location. Buen provecho!

Cleanliness: 5 out of 5 Service: 5 out of 5 Atmosphere: 5 out of 5 Food: 5 out of 5 My order: Belgian Waffle w/ whipped cream, Nutella, and strawberries and an espresso martini. Reflection: my meal was absolutely delicious! The other items were ordered by my husband and he enjoyed them as well.

Super cute caffee! Loved the vibes, and everyone was super friendly and helpful. We came during the pumpkin spice season, so there were special items on the menu. Our server was very familiar with both the specials and the regulars. She was helpful but not pushy or trying to sell specific items. I got the seasonal omelette, and it was pretty good. The only downside is that there was a lot of squash in there, and I don't like squash. That's a personal preference, and I should have asked them what they meant for seasonal veggies. Otherwise, if you like squash, it's a winner!

I have been to the restaurant in the Ventura location, and I have wanted to try this new spot at The Collection in Oxnard since it opened. Finally, I got the chance. When I arrived, there was a long line to get in, and a server gave us a small cup of water (which was nice). My friend and I sat down at the bar, which is good for solo diners or couples. We ordered "Cousin Michael's Carbonara" and "Shrimp Fra Diavolo," along with orange juice (it was fresh, as they squeeze it here). The pastas tasted good. All the dishes were beautifully presented. After the meal, I ordered "Café de Olio," which was delicious. The service was friendly and excellent. It's an excellent place for couples, groups, or families. You can park in the parking lot at The Collection or find street parking nearby.

I tried Immigrant Son Cafe for the first time and wow.. I don't know why I waited so long. We had an espresso martini and a vanilla latte, and both were absolutely delicious. For food, we ordered the breakfast lasagna and the avocado pomodoro toast, and everything was beyond amazing. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, and the staff makes you feel genuinely welcome from the moment you walk in. Definitely a new favorite spot ... can't wait to go back!

Dined in with my partner and friends on 03/14/2026 for reference to the staff. This is their second location and it's still really good just like the original. The good: Food and the Waiters were good. The Waiters we had were very attentive, checked in on us, got us refills on drink and made sure we were well taken care of. They even accommodated us to a new table (more explained on this below and why I say waiters). The food was delicious, love how the pasta comes out in a bread bowl similar to a pizza crust. The noodles were al dente, shrimp was cooked perfectly. The bad: THE HOSTESS. She was not friendly at all. She had asked if we had a preference of inside or outside, we asked for inside. She still sat us outside. The table was infested with gnats and flies, constantly getting into our drinks. I had politely went up to her after we ordered our food and drinks and asked if we can be switched inside. She just looked at me and said No, I can put you guys at the bar or you guys will have to wait in line again until everyone else has been seated, which at that point the line was picking up so it would be rather a long wait. Why do we have to wait in line again if we were already seated and ordered?! I ended up asking our waiter instead if we can be switched to a different table which two other servers quickly tried to remedy the situation and had said that a table was open for us to move to, and noticed the hostess giving us a glare when we got switched.

We stopped by for our first visit after our workout since our gym is around the block . We were greeted at the door and seated immediately. Our server came right over and took our drink order. We both got a hot hazelnut latte which was delicious. I ordered a Greek omelette and added bacon. It came with toast, seasonal fruit, and potatoes. It was amazing. My wife ordered the avocado toast which came with a poached egg on top. She loved it. It is a very nice and welcoming atmosphere, great service, and fair prices. We will return soon!

I have tried both locations for Immigrant Son Caffe and something about this one in the Collection is just extra special! I've been a couple times to this one specially and each visit I was blown away by the warm service, amazing quality of food / drinks & I LOVE the interior design / ambiance so much. I cannot wait to see this business continue to grow!

We were immediately welcomed by Juan, and from the start he was incredibly inviting, smiley, and gave off such good vibes. He genuinely made us feel welcomed the second we walked through the door. I'm not sure what his title is because he seemed to do a little bit of everything, but he explained how everything worked, let us know we could sit and come back up to order when we were ready, brought us our food, and even gave some great menu recommendations. He was so kind and attentive throughout the entire experience. The food and beer were also very tasty, and the portions were great too -- definitely worth it. Everything added to the overall experience. Being someone who works in customer service and food service myself, I take good service seriously, and Juan truly went above and beyond. He had an amazing attitude and work ethic, and he's exactly the type of person that brings people back to places. Great service leaves a lasting impression, and he absolutely did that. Loved the experience and will definitely be back!

If you're going to hang your hat on the speakeasy aesthetic--dim lights, hushed tones, whispers of…read moreexclusivity--then understand this: you're entering into an unspoken pact with your patrons. We expect a certain standard, a level of care that borders on obsession. So when I catch Evan Williams--respectable, questionable, but barely twelve bucks a bottle--making an appearance behind the bar, it feels like a breach of trust. A quiet betrayal under low lighting. The illusion only works if the details hold up under scrutiny... and that pour? It broke the spell. And then comes the real offense: discovering that your Old Fashioned--the crown jewel of any respectable cocktail program--are built on bottom-shelf, dust-collecting bourbon. That's not just a letdown, it's a slap in the face. A cocktail like that deserves reverence, not shortcuts. And as if to twist the knife, there it was--a massive can of red maraschino cherries sitting shamelessly atop the bar, like some relic from a dive that's given up on finesse. It wasn't just a misstep. It was disrespect. In a place claiming the speakeasy mantle, details like these matter. They're the difference between theater and parody. The cocktails did not warrant the $15 price tag. Moreover, I would have paid more had I know the class of bourbon upfront. What ultimately redeems the space is its ambiance. The low flicker of the fireplace, the soft embrace of worn leather sofas, the curated hum of music floating just above conversation--it's seductive, even soulful. The room itself is small, intimate--the kind of place where you're bound to recognize a face, or at the very least, feel inclined to invite a stranger to share the sofa and maybe a story. And then there's the setting--tucked beneath a historic relic, a basement bar built into the bones of old Americana. The building dates back to the early 1900s, echoing with a past that deserves to be honored, not phoned in. That's exactly why I expected more from the cocktails. A place with this much atmosphere shouldn't fall flat when it comes to what's in the glass. It's a mismatch--a beautiful stage, but a script that doesn't quite rise to meet it.

Save yourself the headache and eat somewhere else. -- We were told our wait would be approximately 15 minutes. It ended up being closer to 30. Once seated, things got even worse. We sat for roughly 15 minutes without anyone acknowledging our table and had to flag down two separate employees before we were assigned a server. Despite arriving over an hour before I needed to leave for a scheduled appointment, our food didn't arrive until approximately 11:35 AM. Spending over an hour at breakfast for a simple meal is unreasonable, especially at a resort restaurant where guests often have reservations and activities planned. Unfortunately, the food wasn't worth the wait. The chicken sausage arrived room temperature, and my pancakes were raw in the middle. Not undercooked--raw. After waiting over an hour for breakfast, receiving food that wasn't properly prepared was incredibly disappointing. As if that weren't enough, the restaurant somehow managed to charge our credit card twice while also posting the charge to our room. Resolving the error became an ordeal of phone calls, receipt photos, waiting for managers, and multiple follow-ups. What should have been a simple correction ended up taking a significant amount of our vacation time. The most frustrating part wasn't even the mistakes themselves--it was the lack of urgency in fixing them. Nobody seemed particularly concerned that guests were waiting excessive amounts of time, receiving improperly prepared food, or dealing with billing errors.

Definitely makes me ok to come back, and most likely will, as the deals are good when it's happy hours. The inside is clean and spacious, will seating and tables decently placed and spaced from each other. Come try it, especially during happy hours! We ordered the seared tuna, it was delicious. The calamari is still good, but not as I had memorized from past visits, but still pretty good. The cheese curds are pretty awesome if you like cheese curds. Would definitely get it again. The Brussels, ask for the sauce on the side so you can dip as much as you want instead of having it drenched in the sauce. The pizzas are worth it, order one, or two. In Ventura's industrial area, the Cave is a nice, cozy restaurant that is hidden in the Ventura Wine Company shop. We were greeted by live music which made a lively atmosphere. They have the self vending wine machine with a decent variety of wines for all. I'm going to be honest - I did question the pour size. We ended up buying a bottle of wine at dinner instead and I'm pretty sure that was the economical choice plus it gave me peace of mind. I will say - the plating of the food is strange. Giant plates for small portions never really sits well with me. The kitchen's "thinly sliced" waygu steak was also off putting visually. The Jumbo Scallops w/Leek & Truffle Risotto ($46) is a must order. Scallops perfectly pan seared and that risotto I would eat by itself. The Lemon Chardonnay sauce was incredible. The Slow Braised Beef Short Ribs ($39) was okay. The meat fell apart as it should. The red wine sauce was okay but lacked depth. The creamy mashed potatoes were very good and seasoned perfectly. Wasn't mad that I tried it but would not order again. Wagyu Top Sirloin 12 oz. ($48) was very good despite the poor slicing. The creamy mushroom sauce was perfect to add some flavor but not overpower the protein. The Pepperoni Pizza ($18) was decent for my son. My daughter planned to order the Seafood Pasta until she saw all of her favorite things combined: Mac and cheese, bacon and pizza - the Mac and Cheese Pizza ($21) was honestly top notch. It wasn't overly heavy, the depth of flavor was great and it's extremely tasty. The spicy aioli was top notch. Overall, a good experience at the Cave. I recommend giving it a try.
