Excellent service and excellent food. The serving staff could not have been nicer or more personable, and they were always ready and attentive for a coffee refill or water. The staff in the kitchen was equally skilled, and my family will be returning to try more of their menu. We shared a variety of dishes. The deviled eggs and bacon plate started the meal, and while the deviled eggs were well done, the bacon tasting plate was both a delicious and unique dish that I strongly recommend. We tried the pancakes (perfectly fluffy), the chicken and waffles (the perfect blend of sweet, savory, and a delicious crunch as well on the Parmesan crust), and the Eggs Benedict (well executed, and I intend to explore their three other variations when I go back) Finally, the price was reasonable for everything, and frankly cheaper than I expected for the quality of food and service. There are many restaurants competing for attention and business at Immigrant Son Caffe's price point and, having been to many of them, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience here. Located in the Collection, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Immigrant Son Caffe. From the moment we walked up to the hostess stand, we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff. The menu had a nice selection of primarily savory options that made it hard to narrow down as everything sounded so good. Ultimately, I ended up going with the "Caffe Breakfast" ($19) which came with 2 eggs, my choice of bacon and season potatoes, along with a slice of ciabatta. Everything was delicious, but my favorite item on the plate actually ended up being their house made berry jam. It was so good paired with their perfectly crusty ciabatta bread! We also ordered the "Breakfast Charcuterie" as an appetizer which was beautifully plated. I loved the toasted focaccia and it was so fun getting to top your own bread with the sunny side up egg, creamy cheese options, fresh avocado, smoked salmon, pickled red onions, calabrian chili crunch, and pickled pistachios. While I didn't get to try their toasts, our table also ordered their "Salmon Avocado Toast" ($19) and their "Avocado Pomodoro Toast" ($18). Each dish was so aesthetically pleasing. I only wish the portions were a little bigger as everything felt on a bit on the smaller side and we all left still feeling like we could have eaten more. Nevertheless, we still enjoyed the food and our experience at Immigrant Son Caffe. The restaurant was clean and inviting, the wait staff was friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious. If you're not an early riser, be prepared to wait though. When we arrived closer to 8:45am on a holiday weekday, we were able to get seated right away and there were only a few tables occupied. Really pretty and unique café I absolutely loved all the flag decor throughout the space--it's one of the first things you notice when you walk in and it gives the place such a fun vibe. Everyone was super welcoming, from the host to our waiter, which made the experience even better. They also have a coffee bar where you can just walk in and grab a drink without waiting, which is a huge plus. We came for brunch/breakfast, and while everything was good, I did notice they lean more toward brunch options rather than a wide variety of breakfast items. I started with my usual sugar-free vanilla oat latte, and it was sooo good--perfectly creamy and not too sweet, just how I like it. For food, I ordered the chicken parm panini with a side salad, and it did not disappoint. The bread was a little overwhelming, so I took some off, but overall it was still really good. Came here after a friend of mine recommended this restaurant to me. I love Italian food, especially authentic Italian food, so I was excited to try it. I was surprised to see that it was quite busy for the middle of the day on a Monday. But even though it was busy, we were seated right away. The restaurant is pretty, with different flags hanging all around. I like how bright and spacious it is. I don't like to sit too close to other people I don't know while I eat. One of the waitresses noticed that the sun was hitting me, so she asked me if I wanted her to lower the blinds, which was nice of her. After going through the menu, I decided to order their spaghetti and meatballs that they serve in a bread bowl! I had never heard of that before. The meatballs were hand-made and freshly made. The pasta was also cooked to perfection. My husband ordered their carbonara, and I have to say we both knew that their bacon had to be imported because it tasted just like the bacon we had in our recent trip to Italy. I have been to the restaurant in the Ventura location, and I have wanted to try this new spot at The Collection in Oxnard since it opened. Finally, I got the chance. When I arrived, there was a long line to get in, and a server gave us a small cup of water (which was nice). My friend and I sat down at the bar, which is good for solo diners or couples. We ordered "Cousin Michael's Carbonara" and "Shrimp Fra Diavolo," along with orange juice (it was fresh, as they squeeze it here). The pastas tasted good. All the dishes were beautifully presented. Dined in with my partner and friends on 03/14/2026 for reference to the staff. This is their second location and it's still really good just like the original. The good: Food and the Waiters were good. The Waiters we had were very attentive, checked in on us, got us refills on drink and made sure we were well taken care of. They even accommodated us to a new table (more explained on this below and why I say waiters). The food was delicious, love how the pasta comes out in a bread bowl similar to a pizza crust. The noodles were al dente, shrimp was cooked perfectly. The bad: THE HOSTESS. She was not friendly at all. She had asked if we had a preference of inside or outside, we asked for inside. She still sat us outside. The table was infested with gnats and flies, constantly getting into our drinks. I had politely went up to her after we ordered our food and drinks and asked if we can be switched inside. She just looked at me and said No, I can put you guys at the bar or you guys will have to wait in line again until everyone else has been seated, which at that point the line was picking up so it would be rather a long wait. Why do we have to wait in line again if we were already seated and ordered?! I ended up asking our waiter instead if we can be switched to a different table which two other servers quickly tried to remedy the situation and had said that a table was open for us to move to, and noticed the hostess giving us a glare when we got switched. read more

We stopped by for our first visit after our workout since our gym is around the block . We were greeted at the door and seated immediately. Our server came right over and took our drink order. The food was great, however, the garlic in focaccia was too much that I had to take them all out. The only reason I wanted to give 4 stars is the service. They definitely need more servers and must be more organised. They don't have a wait list or reservation and they make u wait outside with no details for idk how long. We stumbled upon Immigrant Son Caffe while looking for a bite to eat during a Tesla charging stop on our way to LA -- and it was such a hit that we made a point to come back the next day on our drive home! The first day I ordered the Breakfast Charcuterie, and wow -- what a creative and delicious idea. You can choose from smoked salmon, chicken sausage, or prosciutto. It comes beautifully arranged with an egg, fruit, and cheeses. So good. The next day I went for the Traditional Breakfast with chicken sausage, and it was equally satisfying. I also had a vanilla oat milk latte both mornings -- creamy, flavorful, and perfectly made. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, which makes it a great spot whether you're in the mood to enjoy the sun or stay cool inside. And bonus -- it's directly across from my favorite store, REI, which makes it even more convenient for a quick stop and stretch during a road trip. The staff here is incredible. Super friendly, quick service, and one of the team members even remembered me the second day -- a small but thoughtful touch. But I had the shrimp diablo pasta which I thought would have more spice, but the bread bowl was a nice touch, I just needed more sauce because by the end it made the bowl tough to eat since it was dry. Their specialty Tiramisu Affogato had an amazing tiramisu aspect to it and was delicious, but it didn't exactly satisfy my morning iced coffee craving. Know that going in so you can't complain about the price points. Great energy and great customer service, every time. I've tried a bunch of different things on the menu here and the Ventura one. The best tasting food I've had is pictured in this review- a Peach Burrata Toast. I asked the server if it would be sweet and he said he would add prosciutto to counter that. My wife and I shared this - ended up being $28 and visually doesn't look like a lot but it was filling and fresh. Peaches, dates, goat cheese, candied pistachios and some kind of sweet sauce. Would recommend but the server told me it would likely be off the menu as soon as Peaches were out of season. I've had the breakfast lasagna - it was decent but kind of heavy and is way too much for one person. The breakfast sandwich is good and is made chicken sausage. Kids loved the French toast. Personally, it wasn't my favorite the corkscrew pasta and veggies tossed in a white wine butter sauce were a bit too mild for my taste. So excited that Immigrant Son Caffe is at the Collection now with their second location. Immigrant son has been holding title of one of the best brunch restaurants in Ventura so it makes sense that they would continue to grow and made it to such a big shopping / business center. My friend and I came in for a weekday brunch which was lovely. It was too busy but still a good amount and of people for a weekday. Probably gets really busy here on a weekend. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and definitely gives off Italian vibes - reminding me of the Amalfi coast. We sat outside on their covered patio. When the weather is nice out this is 100% the way to dine here. It was lovely. Service was absolutely stellar. Andy was our server, he was very personable and kind. Everyone that helped us was attentive and made us feel welcome. We even saw the owner/manager walking around and checking on tables which was really nice to see. Very disappointed. Spent $90 for 3 people. I had strawberry pancakes with potatoes. Definitely not worth my share of $30. And I had water to drink. Ok pancakes had no flavor had to ask for extra syrup and butter small little cup is not enough come on! The potatoes tasted (and looked) like they were 4-5 days old. I couldn't even finish them they had no flavor. The water which comes in a very nice glass container but it was tap water gross!
