GETTING HERE: Located in the Collection in Oxnard. It's down the way from the movie theater near where the old Container store once was. MOOD: Getting hangry and ready to check this place out! #YAY REVIEW: I am so excited to have finally stopped here! I was cautious as the line to enter is ^always out the door and around the way, but the line moved fast this day! Awesome! Service: It was awesome. Pleasantly and happily surprised for the genuine friendliness and help. I had asked for a few recommendations as I was a first timer and every staff member was a great help. I observed the interactions from other staff with other customers and the service was bar none. Return customer made! Food: I omitted to get the name of my sandwich! It was the egg sandwich and it was excellent, highly recommend. The chicken and waffle was incredible! The seasoning on the chicken blew my mind. I am ordering that next visit, for sure. Ambiance: Nice, open, airy, light seating. My only note is that it gets ^quite loud inside. Not a ding against anyone or anything, I just struggled to conversate with my party. Review: I couldn't recommend Immigrant Son Caffe more! Can't wait to return to order the chicken and waffles!
Located in the Collection so there is plenty of parking. We came on a weekday so it wasn't as crowded and only a short wait. Upon arrival we were greeted by a welcoming hostess. A good sized space with outdoor seating that loops around one corner. Once seated the waitress came by shortly to get our drink order however it took a little while to get our food order in though. We got the Breakfast charcuterie, Focaccia Chicken Sandwich, Smoked salmon eggs Benedict and Basque cheesecake. All were delicious! At the end of the meal we also got a complimentary pizzelle cookie. Loved the decor and ambiance, the flags and art gave a very European feel. Service was mostly good, our waitress was friendly and checked on us regularly. They have a location in Ventura as well, so I will try that location next time.
I was drawn to try Immigrant Son Cafe because of their unique and creative brunch menu offerings, and overall it was a very enjoyable first visit. From the moment we walked in, the host set a wonderful tone for the experience. He was incredibly personable, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. As first-time guests, it was refreshing to be greeted so warmly and made to feel right at home. Between my partner and me, we ordered the deviled eggs, whipped burrata with focaccia, green juice, and avocado toast. My partner also started with a cortado coffee, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The standout dish for me was definitely the whipped burrata with focaccia. The bread was served warm, tasted incredibly fresh, and paired perfectly with the creamy burrata. It was simple but absolutely delicious. My partner enjoyed his avocado toast overall, although he mentioned that the bread was a bit thick and hard, making it somewhat difficult to eat comfortably. Unfortunately, the biggest miss for both of us was the deviled eggs. They didn't taste particularly fresh and had an oddly unpleasant flavor. One of my favorite parts of the visit came at the very end when our server surprised us with complimentary pizzelle cookies. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and its small hospitality touches like that which leave a lasting impression and make guests like us feel genuinely cared for. While not every dish was a hit, the warm service, welcoming atmosphere, and unique menu made this a place I'd happily return to. I'm honestly sad I don't live closer because I'd love to come back and continue exploring more of their brunch offerings.
Located in the Collection, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Immigrant Son Caffe. From the moment we walked up to the hostess stand, we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff. The menu had a nice selection of primarily savory options that made it hard to narrow down as everything sounded so good. Ultimately, I ended up going with the "Caffe Breakfast" ($19) which came with 2 eggs, my choice of bacon and season potatoes, along with a slice of ciabatta. Everything was delicious, but my favorite item on the plate actually ended up being their house made berry jam. It was so good paired with their perfectly crusty ciabatta bread! We also ordered the "Breakfast Charcuterie" as an appetizer which was beautifully plated. I loved the toasted focaccia and it was so fun getting to top your own bread with the sunny side up egg, creamy cheese options, fresh avocado, smoked salmon, pickled red onions, calabrian chili crunch, and pickled pistachios. While I didn't get to try their toasts, our table also ordered their "Salmon Avocado Toast" ($19) and their "Avocado Pomodoro Toast" ($18). Each dish was so aesthetically pleasing. I only wish the portions were a little bigger as everything felt on a bit on the smaller side and we all left still feeling like we could have eaten more. Nevertheless, we still enjoyed the food and our experience at Immigrant Son Caffe. The restaurant was clean and inviting, the wait staff was friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious. If you're not an early riser, be prepared to wait though. When we arrived closer to 8:45am on a holiday weekday, we were able to get seated right away and there were only a few tables occupied. However, when we left closer to 9:45am, there was already a line formed outside that wrapped around the side of the building.
Service was great and it's a cute spot for brunch/ cafe feel. My friend enjoyed the trip cannoli and we both really loved the rigatoni pasta.
Really pretty and unique café I absolutely loved all the flag decor throughout the space--it's one of the first things you notice when you walk in and it gives the place such a fun vibe. Everyone was super welcoming, from the host to our waiter, which made the experience even better. They also have a coffee bar where you can just walk in and grab a drink without waiting, which is a huge plus. We came for brunch/breakfast, and while everything was good, I did notice they lean more toward brunch options rather than a wide variety of breakfast items. I started with my usual sugar-free vanilla oat latte, and it was sooo good--perfectly creamy and not too sweet, just how I like it. For food, I ordered the chicken parm panini with a side salad, and it did not disappoint. The bread was a little overwhelming, so I took some off, but overall it was still really good. We also tried the chicken and waffles--personally not my thing, but my boyfriend said it was just okay. They also didn't have ranch for the fried chicken, which was a bit of a downside. Service was amazing--Brandon was super accommodating, friendly, and answered all of our questions. Overall, such a great experience! I'd definitely come back with my girls for mimosas
Service top Quality! I was excited to come here, my family and I have been searching for. Good place to eat, ever since I hop has went down hill. We very pleased, let me start off by telling you the service was excellent, very friendly and welcoming. The coffee amazing! The food was flavorful! There is nothing negative I can say about this place and I can't wait to come back again' to try something we didn't get a chance to order!
Came here after a friend of mine recommended this restaurant to me. I love Italian food, especially authentic Italian food, so I was excited to try it. I was surprised to see that it was quite busy for the middle of the day on a Monday. But even though it was busy, we were seated right away. The restaurant is pretty, with different flags hanging all around. I like how bright and spacious it is. I don't like to sit too close to other people I don't know while I eat. One of the waitresses noticed that the sun was hitting me, so she asked me if I wanted her to lower the blinds, which was nice of her. After going through the menu, I decided to order their spaghetti and meatballs that they serve in a bread bowl! I had never heard of that before. The meatballs were hand-made and freshly made. The pasta was also cooked to perfection. My husband ordered their carbonara, and I have to say we both knew that their bacon had to be imported because it tasted just like the bacon we had in our recent trip to Italy. Very delicious and authentic food.
I came here for my birthday for brunch on a Sunday. First of all the wait staff was incredibly on top of things and very welcoming. The food was top tier. I got the Aunt Anna eggs Benedict. I love that there were red potatoes and I appreciate that the fruit served with it was really fresh and something I enjoyed versus frozen melons served at other cafes. You know I had to try the cafe de Olla latte. It was perfection! They also give me a birthday tiramisu that I took to-go. Thank you!
We stopped by for a quick lunch on a Friday afternoon on the way to SLO. We found street parking. We shared a breakfast lasagna. It was very good. To drink my husband had the espresso martini (it is heavy on the espresso) and I had the empress gin spritz. Both good cocktails. Service was friendly and attentive. Cortni was our server and she was lovely. The restaurant was very warm and inviting.
Sat quickly though the water glass didn't match my lip gloss. Wrong eggs Benedict served. When I did get the right one.....Salmon with Capers , slim on the salmon, hardly a caper or a red onion. It fell flat.
A Must-Visit Family Gem at The Collection! We had a wonderful breakfast at Immigrant Cafe. Despite the house being packed, the service was excellent--attentive and seamless. It's clear why there is so much positive word-of-mouth surrounding this family-owned local eatery. The atmosphere is beautiful; it features a fresh, contemporary aesthetic that feels upscale without being overstated. The Food: * Eggs Benedict: Perfectly executed and very tasty. * Giovanni Omelette: A meat-lover's dream! Loaded with savory prosciutto and pancetta. * Buttermilk Pancakes: Topped with strawberries and Nutella, these were a massive hit with my daughter. The drinks were a highlight, and the pricing is very fair for the quality and location. Buen provecho!

Stopped in for brunch with a friend and ordered the cavatappi giardino with added jumbo shrimp. Personally, it wasn't my favorite the corkscrew pasta and veggies tossed in a white wine butter sauce were a bit too mild for my taste. If you enjoy a simple butter pasta, it may be right up your alley. That said, the staff was incredibly accommodating and even offered to switch the sauce to one of my choice, which truly made the experience. First time here and will not come back. There was hair in my son's egg, which I did bring it home to our waitress and yes they redid a new place. I notice in the kitchen the guy handling food was not wearing proper PPE, he had a full on goat tee mustache and should be wearing a facial hairnet. We had breakfast here to set-off our week-long road trip up North. My mom ordered the pancakes with bananas. Son had the Giovanni omelette. My brother and sister both ordered tallow fried chicken and waffles each. Sis-in-law had the burrata scrambled eggs and I had the bacon flight. Food was good, we had enough to share and taste each other's orders. Service was courteous and efficient. We opted for outside seating on a gorgeous and crisp October morning. Paid street parking, free parking a few blocks down is also available. Only one gender neutral restroom. read more

Wow. So bomb. The cutest little cafe! The service is always super good even when they get busy. They are very careful about my gluten allergy and have plenty of gluten free options and substitutes. I've gone back lots of times and honestly my favorite so far has been the breakfast charcuterie. The chicken sausage is the way to go! read more

So excited that Immigrant Son Caffe is at the Collection now with their second location. Immigrant son has been holding title of one of the best brunch restaurants in Ventura so it makes sense that they would continue to grow and made it to such a big shopping / business center. My friend and I came in for a weekday brunch which was lovely. It was too busy but still a good amount and of people for a weekday. Probably gets really busy here on a weekend. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and definitely gives off Italian vibes - reminding me of the Amalfi coast. We sat outside on their covered patio. When the weather is nice out this is 100% the way to dine here. It was lovely. Service was absolutely stellar. Andy was our server, he was very personable and kind. Everyone that helped us was attentive and made us feel welcome. We even saw the owner/manager walking around and checking on tables which was really nice to see. Love a restaurant that has A+ service and values their guests. As a first timer here it was really impressive. The food was well paced and waters always refilled. Great service. I love that they sell brunch and main lunch entrees at 11am. Always nice to have the flexibility of a larger menu. So many tasty looks dishes it was hard to choose which was a good thing. The food was very good, 5/5. We went with the classic mains. I had a smoked salmon Benedict and my friend had a chicken avocado panini. We both loved our dishes. I've very picky with eggs Benedict and this is my top 2 Benedict's in Ventura County now. Simply delicious and cooked to perfection. Their hollandaise is fantastic. I also normally don't like potatoes for breakfast but theirs were exceptional. Super tasty and good flavor. Both of the main dishes were great. Also for fun we shared a whipped burrata with focaccia bread appetizer and that was delicious as well. Very light and the garlic was fragrant and tasty on the burrata. Overall we had a lovely meal, wonderful attentive service and the atmosphere was relaxed. Would love to come back. read more

Immigrant Son is the place I keep going back to because I want to love it, but I haven't found anything on the menu that I actually do. The service is always top notch, and I always feel welcomed, they really have that part down, which keeps me coming back. They are always crowded and lively. Depending on the time of day, expect a wait to be seated. Although I've never been completely disappointed with the food, I've also never had anything I truly loved. During my last visit, I had the breakfast lasagna, which was just okay in my opinion. I'm a salty girl, but this was a bit too salty. There were plenty of layers going on, maybe too many, and I found myself wishing for just one more layer of noodle instead. I also had a pancake on the side, which was good, but nothing memorable. I'm a sucker for raspberry jam, which they had, but even that left me underwhelmed as it was very runny. read more

The food, the service and ambiance were hands down amazing!! This was my first time going here and it was a great time. The people there were very nice and welcoming! Luckily we got there 20 mins before closing and I wasn't even aware. I didn't get any "hurry up and get out" vibes from anyone! The food was fantastic!!! The eggs were light and fluffy, the Belgium waffle was phenomenal! The French toast bread pudding was AMAZING!!! I am definitely coming back and honestly will make this my go to brunch spot! read more
Came here with friends to celebrate bridal shower and we sat outside. I wasn't able to eat meat so I had their coffee with oat milk and it was great. I had liked that before from the other location as well. I had their bread and potato dish and it was great. Everyone at the table enjoyed their brunch and the seating area. I've wanted to try this restaurant since I heard good things about the Ventura location. First, the line was long but moved quickly. I was able to sit at the bar inside, where I tasted probably the best mocha I've ever had. Next, the customer service was top-notch. I was regularly asked if everything was all right, if I wanted another mocha (yes, please), if the food tasted okay, if I wanted dessert, etc. I never felt neglected or had to look around for a server because the people at the bar took my order. The only downside was that the food took approximately 15-20 minutes to come out, but it was worth the wait. The focaccia egg sandwich I ordered had fluffy eggs with delicious spices. I also tried the steak and eggs, in which I tasted a perfectly seasoned and chewy steak with delicious eggs. The fruit added a healthy touch to a very complete breakfast. I had no complaints about anything, and I totally understood why they were crazy busy for brunch. The aesthetic here feels like you just came out of Italy. The portions are gigantic and they have a delicious Italian menu. We were there for brunch and each got lemoncello spritz, which was so refreshing! We ended up doing meatballs for an appetizer which I would skip next time but the deviled eggs are so flavorful and then splitting a chicken Parm sandwich. The chicken Parm was the size of my face! Definitely could be split between two people. Everything tastes homemade and the servers are very friendly. It was my birthday and she brought out a tiramisu which was so soft and spongy with a candle in it. It is pretty small inside and the place does fill up quickly, so make sure to get there and put your name on the list early. First time visiting the Riverpark location. The space is beautiful and feels airy. Both inside and outside seating options. My friend and I went to enjoy some this and yap time. Our server was very friendly and not pushy. Get the mocha, it's delicious. My friend and I split the bacon flight ( the Parmesan one was my favorite) Asian salad and chicken and waffles. All of the food was good. The chicken that comes with the waffles is breaded with rosemary and topped with Parmesan. This was an interesting taste with the sweet waffles. The salad was a little over dressed and soggy. Besides that overall this place is a beautiful brunch gem. read more

Came here to try the steak and eggs. Let me just say wow. They 100% know how to cook the steak to perfection. The waitress was very attentive and it was super busy, so that was a definite plus. I also ordered the orange juice which was delicious and very fresh. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles, the chicken was perfectly seasoned and had the perfect amount of crisp to it. The location is very nice and you can tell it's very clean. I would 100% recommend and I will be returning to this location. Great job immigrant and son! read more

This was the first time me and my friends came here. Firstly, the host Noemi, was SO FRIENDLY, and she kept us updated with our table. We opted to sit outside on a beautiful day, so their patio was full. She kept us updated when our table was ready, and gave us the option to sit inside if we didn't want to wait. She was such a good vibe and a preview of what to come. Our server, Liz, was also SO FRIENDLY and knowledgeable of the menu. We asked her favorite recommendations and SHE DID NOT MISS. She constantly checked up on us and made sure everything was perfect. Also, Payton stopped by to drop off some drinks and also made sure our experience was seamless with quick service. Thanks to these three ladies we had a great time and we can't wait to come back!! Definitely ask for Liz and Payton as a server for the best service, and hopefully you're greeted by Noemi for the best vibes! read more
I had a peach bellini and it was really good. My friends got the lemonchello and an expresso martini. The expresso martini was made with tequila and it was delicious (kinda jealous I didn't get that). For food, we had the bacon flight and I had the chicken parmigiana. The bacon was nice and crispy and the chicken parmigiana was amazing and the size is pretty big. Our waiter David is pretty nice and very attentive. At the end of the meal he gave us pizzelles. Love Immigrant Son Cafe. I've been to the Ventura location at least 6 times enjoying fantastic meals, ambiance and staff. The eggs Benedict, charcuterie, spaghetti in a homemade bread bowl to name a few. Excellent food. Today I am going to Riverpark in Oxnard. Immigrant Son has been on our radar for years and we finally went. So glad we did!!! I ordered the Breakfast lasagna and Oh boy it was delicious. The first bite I was hooked. My husband was eying my dish because he could see the utter look of satisfaction on my face. Okay, I broke and shared with him. That marinara sauce was heavenly. It reminded me of a favorite dish I had in Rome. The cappuccino I had was perfect. There is a pastry bar if you want a quick sweet treat. Our server Riley was delightful. Service service service . It was great !!! I did not love the Chicken and Waffles as a bit too too salty for me , too much rosemary and I was just picking at my dish. I wasn't going to say anything as they're not officially open until tomorrow 1.27.25 ( went yesterday ) and I wanted to give them a break . Plus , I was still enjoying myself . The ambiance is right and everyone is sooo friendly. The manager noticed I was picking the breading off my chicken, attempting to eat very slowly and asked if everything was ok. I was said yes but he noticed my plate . My friend was almost done with hers. He asked , " Are you sure ?" That's when I was honest and said the chicken was a bit too salty for me. I couldn't eat it. He said he'd rather customers be honest as he wants us to enjoy our food. He immediately brought me the Eggs Benedict (replacing the dish ) and apologized. David came by and also apologized. I was floored as I have never received this above and beyond treatment. LOL . Love it. To me service is everything. They really pay attention to you , check in and your coffee is never empty! Ronan and his team have made this Riverpark location a phenomenal spinoff from the original! I have been eagerly awaiting this opening and unfortunately missed the friends & family grand opening days while I was down sick. So first chance I got, I ventured solo for a latte, the ever popular bacon flight and deviled eggs. 5/5 easy. I returned the next day with a friend and encouraged her to try the flight herself. She ordered the tiny but mighty macchiato with it and was beyond pleased. Favorite bacon? That would be the jalapeno! I was able to order the toast along with the burrata scrambled eggs. 6/5 stars - incoming pun: Eggcellent! Already planning my Sunday brunch day with friends and can't wait to try everything. I loved dining at the Ventura location but having the convenience of the Oxnard makes it even more accessible. This location is bright and airy and is adorned with odes to Italy: similar to location #1. The staff i interacted with were all so helpful and informative. The bright yellow umbrellas that scatter the patio make me long for warmer weather. Welcome to the neighborhood Alessandro and the IS family! The servers were nice enough to move our large group to another table when latecomers arrived. They have a nice brunch menu and some very unique items. One of the gals had spaghetti in a bread bowl and she loved it! Their lattes are delicious and you can get them with oat milk. My shrimp salad had a really nice dressing and pistachios very tasty. Very pretty location in the Collection close to the theater. We topped it off with delicious cookie wafers. read more

Immigrant Son Caffe is located in The Collection, which is a beautiful addition to Oxnard. Parking can be found in the outer shopping area for free or metered parking along the streets. Our initial visit to Immigrant Son Caffe, sans prior knowledge, yielded a pleasant surprise. Seated in the corner booth, our party of five enjoyed an intimate setting, having meaningful conversations, warm company, and outstanding food. We opted for the breakfast charcuterie which our table was all able to enjoy and find something for everyone. Although the tallow fried chicken and waffle offered an innovative spin on a classic dish, reactions were mixed. This variation may appeal to individual preferences, making it a worthwhile option to consider. So, with that said, don't take my word for it as it just might be your most favorite item on the menu. Having opted for a breakfast on the lighter side (to share and try variety), we concluded our meal with cannolis and all 3 flavors did not disappoint!
