Horrible dining experience on a Saturday Night. Was excited to have a dinner with all my girls that were home from college. Restaurant was not busy at the time we arrived, approximately 8pm. Fried artichoke was really good but everything else was below average to unacceptable. I ordered the flat Iron Steak and it came dry and burnt after I ordered it medium. This was after a long wait to receive our main courses. I had two small pieces and was promptly turned off and notified the staff. Waiter offered to make it again or provide something else but I did not trust anything else coming out of the kitchen on this night. What has me appalled is they made sure to tell me that they wouldn't charge for the plate that I barely touched. I appreciate that favor as my night was ruined. What was worse is that our server disappeared from that time on. We had to ask the host for our bill. Keep in mind there was only one other table by this time. Our server finally brought our bill, never offered dessert, nor apologized for being missing in action for at least a half hour. Having worked in a restaurant before, it pained me to leave a tip less than 20 percent, but I had no choice. Wow... I want to say something positive about this rustic-chic restaurant but I can't. My reservations were at 11:15 and I didn't get a waitress till 11:35. There were two two other tables who were being served but not ours. Deeply disappointed with the customer service but more so with the waitress.i felt invisible sitting with my friend celebrating her birthday with the worse service. I dined at Parque 1055 for the first time on Friday, March 20, and I truly wish I hadn't. I recently joined a new supper club group, which explores new restaurants throughout Ventura County every month, and Parque 1055 was our March selection. Prior to patronizing Parque 1055, I reviewed the menu on its website and many of the positive reviews here, and I liked what I saw. I was genuinely looking forward to a wonderful dining experience here, but unfortunately, I got just the opposite. I began with the ahi tuna tartare, which was gray. Gray! That means the fish was spoiled/rotten, and the entire appetizer tasted like it. In addition to the off-putting color, this dish had zero flavor or personality. I've never seen gray ahi tuna before. Have you? At these particular outings, I like to order menu items I would not typically order when dining out, primarily so I can have the full experience. In this case, I chose the branzino, and it was almost as bad as the tuna tartare. Almost. Instead of a decent fish fillet, this pitiful entree had four measly thin and long pieces of fish, which collectively weighed 2.5 ounces...for $38. The way it was sliced and presented, it looked like the chef opened a can of sardines, cut off the heads, filleted the bodies, and then served four miniscule pieces of fish on top of a bunch of potatoes. To add insult to injury, the fish was dry and overcooked. It has been years since I've had to do so, but I called our server, Jacob, over, and let him know this entree was unsatisfactory, and that I was sending it back. He asked me if I wanted something else, and I declined. The citrus salad was above average, but my server forgot the extra vinaigrette I requsted. To be fair to the restaurant, it removed the branzino entree from my bill, and it comped me a free dessert. I tipped my server based on the entire cost of the meal (even with the entree), including the dessert. Finally, this food made me sick, and totally disrupted my digetive setting. That is probably the worst part about this. We sat on the patio, and it is a lovely setting, especially for large groups (such as ours; we had 11). To summarize, I simply cannot, and will not, recommend this establishment based on these issues. read more

Happy one year anniversary! It was so great to stop by and see a packed house. I loved the DJ and my lemon drop was perfect. Crafted Cocktails were only $15. I really wanted to try the horchata cocktail but it was sold out . Yay .. so happy it's doing great as it just dropped on their menu. 10/10!!! I saw on IG that Parque would be hosting a R&B Brunch so I rounded up the family and made a reservation. We sat outside on the spacious patio. They have heat lamps, and plenty of seating. Although we ordered tons of things, I can only speak on the charcuterie (main character) and the chorizo omelette. The charcuterie met my expectations, cheese was fresh, and there was plenty to share. The omelette had just the right amount of spice from the chorizo and was very filling. Stopped in Sunday around 5pm and had a wonderful evening, with a surprise happy hour menu (7 days a week 3pm-6pm!). We ordered: Sand dabs - can't go wrong with fried fish and French fries Shrimp scampi over risotto - HUGE shrimp, my bf inhaled this dish Short rib share - bite sized, tender, short rib served over a celery root puree with pomegranate and micro greens. The celery root puree was an unexpected highlight Side mashed potatoes - garlicky buttery with chives Crème brûlée - a classic! We went for brunch on Mother's Day. The patio was very busy, but inside had only a couple of tables occupied. We opted to sit in a booth inside. We waited for 20 minutes before my husband got up and asked the bartender to help us. Meanwhile the owner was walking around talking to people. Someone finally came over and she said a server was MIA and the kitchen was slammed. She wasn't A server, but the marketing manager. She finally brought us coffee and water. This was my first time at Paraue 1055. They did a wonderful job of converting an old warehouse into a a very comfortable and inviting restaurant. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outdoors. The drink menu is unique and we enjoyed a Lemon drop martini, a Smoked old fashioned, and a Flight of martini's. The Old Fashioned was especially good and was made perfectly. We went for dinner and I ordered the Beef deep. Even though it's not on the dinner menu, they were kind enough to make it for me. It was fantastic! We came in today for a birthday lunch and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. After being seated by Heather, she took our appetizer order but never came back to check on us. While we waited, two other groups were seated after us and were helped and served before we were, even though we had been there first. At one point, it felt like we were being overlooked, as she would walk by without acknowledging us. After about 15-20 minutes of waiting and only after we asked who our server was someone finally came to take our order. Then the food came 40 mins after. It's honestly disappointing because I've always loved this place, especially the Brussels sprouts, but this was our fourth visit where the service has continued to decline. I am so happy we finally made it to Parque 1055 as this restaurant had been on my list for a while now. Located in downtown Santa Paula, this restaurant was much needed for the area and I am so happy to read and see how well received they have been. This is definitely the IT restaurant on this side of town and I love that they honor and preserve the history of what came before, respecting the automotive industry that was and paying tribute to the community of SP. My friend and I came for dinner on a Monday night and the vibes were definitely lowkey and relaxed. Not their busiest of nights which we were grateful as that allowed us to chat more with the staff and even get a tour of their private back party room and grounds. The staff here are insanely hospitable and lovely. Every person we interacted with was super kind, professional and just all around lovely. They have the best team here and deliver A+ customer service. Shoutout to Robert who was our server and he didn't miss a beat! He gave thoughtful recommendations and was fun to chat with. We love people with a good sense of humor and who can make a girls night dining experience fun. Another one of our new besties is Heather the Manager-Boss Lady-Baddie, she's amazing! She's uber passionate about this business and we loved hearing her talk about how they have paid homage to the city and also of all of their fun events and ideas to come. The team here is truly some of the best and the customer service is unmatched. My other friends who have dined here have told me the same thing so it's nice to know they're consistent. Another reason for the five stars is that the restaurant is simply beautiful. We loved the indoor space and bar. Very nicely done. The real showstopper however is their outdoor patio and garden space. The waterfall backdrop effect is a 10/10. This is the PERFECT place for a celebration and party. Full transparency they are more at a 4/5 but with some work I know I'll be able to come back and give them a 5/5. We appreciated that based on our feedback there are some dishes they may tweak to make them more palatable to the larger audience. I was super impressed with their menu and there are a lot of bites I really want to come back for, like their clam chowder. That's high on my list. For the dishes I did like their fried artichoke appetizer was really delicious and generous portions! I'm a sucker for a good sauce and their lemon aioli like dipping sauce was perfection with the fried app. Also their special crudo fish plate was stunning. It's a special but maybe they'll consider as a more regular dish on their menu? I'm definitely coming back for their extensive and fun cocktail menu. They are known for their martinis so I'm making my way back for one or three hahaha. Parque 1055 is a destination restaurant in Santa Paula. It's worth the drive to experience a beautiful setting (with outside seating and a glorious waterfall). The service is wonderful and the menu is brilliant. Something for everyone. The food is EXCELLENT! (You must try the brussel sprouts; the best I've ever had!) Serving are huge so bring your appetite I ordered a burger that I could tell was made from Prime beef. I know because the owner, Bob, came to to our table to to check on us and I asked him. The restaurant is brand new and offers a choice of indoor or outdoor tables. There's a nice bar area inside, with lots of space, plenty of tables and booths. The outdoor dining patio is also spacious and well decorated. My wife loves the water wall on the east side of the patio. The menu is interesting and offers a good selection. Many of the Happy Hour options are also available for Dinner. Happy Hour (3-6pm daily? weekdays?) Knocks $3-4 off the dinner prices, so come early, and stay late! I had Parque 1055 on my radar for a while, and I finally made the trip out to Santa Paula. I happened to be in the area and knew I needed to check this place out. Let me just say... WORTH IT. The space is such a vibe, with plenty of open indoor seating and a lovely outdoor patio. I definitely have to sit out there next time. A friend and I came in during happy hour and had such a great experience, largely thanks to our amazing server, David. He was incredibly attentive, fun to talk to, and made us feel so welcomed from start to finish. He gave us thoughtful recommendations, checked in at all the right times, and took our experience from a 10 to an 11. Thank you, David! Recently had the chance to come try Parque 1055. I live in the area so wanted to come and support. This place has plenty of seating. They have a cute outdoor area which I can't wait to go back too and sit there. They have a private parking lot and there's also street parking which is really nice. I went during their Happy Hour. I got something from their happy hour menu and normal menu. I tried their Baja Avocado Taco which was really good. Really liked the flavors they choose for this taco. I also got their California Stuffed Avocado. At first I wasn't sure what to think of it. Towards the end I realized if you mix everything with the sauce and enjoy it, it's way better. Hahaha. I do enjoy a good cocktail. I got their Barrel Aged Old Fashioned. Very good and it was strong which I am not complaining. Service was really good from the host to the server who helped us. My friend felt the combo with the flatbread just didn't work, so I tried a little and I agree. It didn't work. And The Mac needed more substance. I am used to homemade Mac with four diff types of cheeses and I do feel the Mac here was too one-note. The prices are a little high for what u get. The ambiance and decor were nice. While there were some misses, I will not include them in this review because they are so new, and I'm sure all of the misses I experienced would be non-existent soon enough! Overall, they have nailed the things that are most important to me - friendly staff, fresh ingredients, and well priced. Staff: very welcoming and friendly. Our server Lexi was very sweet and attentive. Vibe: there are 2 sections to the restaurant. The main portion is bright, casual, loud and nautical, like Lure and Yard House had a baby. We were originally seated right under one of the TV /Speakers, so it was wayyyyy too loud for us. We asked to be moved somewhere quieter. The hostess was able to move us to the back section of the restaurant, which has a totally different vibe. I took it as a "reserved for a large group" area / overflow, plus 2 more tables for 2. This seems to be where the kitchen was. This section is much dimmer, quieter, and less dressy. Drinks: fantastic. You really get bang for your buck. Sunday drive was refreshing, and the old fashioned was good too Food: Western mussels - really fresh and delicious. Another great bang for your buck Mini surf & turf: my favorite dish of the night. The steak was masterfully done and 1 bite alone let me know that I need to order the steak next time. Perfectly cooked and sooooooo delicious!! Everything on this plate was fantastic. The ahi tuna basically melts in your mouth, and the cucumber slices were a nice touch of freshness. Local citrus salad: this was good but not my favorite. I'm sure this would be a hit for someone who loves grapefruit- not just likes it but loves it. The salad was a guilt -free but I think it needed something to balance the acidity of the grapefruit. I added grilled chicken to mine. The chicken was really good and moist, however for the price, I would've appreciated if it was pre-sliced. Overall a really beautiful salad and great option if you're watching your weight. Tasted very fresh and lettuce was crisp (which I really appreciated, I hate a soggy salad!). Fried chicken sammie: chicken itself was good. Bread and fries needed work. We didn't order dessert since we were craving something chocolatey. Overall a solid location that I hope is here to stay! I want to emphasize that this is purely my personal opinion. I am not here to bash the business. I hope this feedback is helpful, and I truly wish the restaurant success in their future endeavors. I ordered the classic clam chowder. I want to start by mentioning that the presentation was great--very aesthetically pleasing. However, the flavor was lacking. The first spoonful, which included bacon bites, was very satisfying and flavorful. When I took another scoop, though, it lacked seasoning and depth. The best way I can describe it is mashed potatoes with chives. The texture was smooth and creamy, which I did enjoy. The bread was delicious--crunchy with a slight char. It may appear burnt at first glance, but looks can be deceiving; I personally enjoyed it. For the price, I would say it was fair. The flatbread pizza also had great presentation. The bread was crunchy with a nice thickness. However, the pizza was too cheesy for my personal preference. If you enjoy a heavy cheese flavor, I would definitely recommend it. The pepperoni was average--nothing particularly memorable. The tomato sauce was lacking, as I prefer a more balanced ratio between sauce and cheese. For the grilled steak salad, the presentation felt a bit messy. I would recommend using less vinaigrette, as the flavor was overpowering. The salad itself was fairly plain and lacked depth. I understand it's a salad, but it still needed something more. I found myself repeatedly adding salt and pepper to enhance the flavor. If you enjoy a simple, straightforward salad, this may be for you. The steak, which I ordered medium-well, had a texture similar to mashed potatoes, which was unexpected. The braised short ribs had a visually appealing presentation that immediately caught my attention. Unfortunately, the flavor again fell short. The first bite was dominated by mushrooms, overpowering everything else. The sauce on top of the short ribs did not add much, even when mixed in. While the texture was good, the short ribs themselves lacked flavor, and the toppings felt more decorative than complementary. Overall, I wasn't a big fan of this dish. If the atheistic is what you are looking for the restaurant is the place to go. The price you pay for the food is more so for the design not the quality of food. The service was great at the beginning. We were greeted warmly upon entering, and the server was friendly and attentive. He gave us time to review the menu and informed us about the specials. Everyone we interacted with was kind. However, we were not checked on as frequently later on. I can't fully fault the staff, as we arrived a few hours before closing. They were likely wrapping up tasks, and the layout of the restaurant seemed to require a lot of walking, which I understand can be tiring. We chose our seats and were able to take advantage of lunch as well as happy hour. Salt & Pepper Calamari: I love calamari but this one didn't do much for me. There wasn't much flavor and I had to lean too heavily on the sauces to get some kind of oomph or kick. 5/10. California Stuffed Avocado: Ordered because it's not something common I've seen on menus. I really enjoyed this one! My only critique would be because it was placed on top of the ponzu, the sodium absorption was strong. If the ponzu were offered on the side I could control the sodium intake better. And I love salty foods! But the dish was kind of soaked in it so it kind of took away from something really amazing. Hidden just a block off of Main Street in Santa Paula is this lovely happy hour/dinner spot. There's a big outdoor seating area with heaters in the back and TVs at the bar inside. Food was fresh and well prepared with tasty local ingredients. Service was friendly. It's a relaxing place with fair prices on great food. read more
