I have been eating here for years because I love their eclectic menu including Hawaiian fare, location near the Channel Islands National Park, outdoor tables, and patio overlooking the marina. We can always find a parking spot in their private lot. Our last visit was on a sunny day with a one year old who enjoyed sitting on the grass near our picnic table and eating some of my fruit, while we enjoyed a tasty teriyaki bowl for my husband, a BLT loaded with crispy bacon for our daughter, and a perfect grilled cheese sandwich for me. It is a great casual place for breakfast and lunch with cocktails available. Service was friendly and helpful.

Cute little place to grab a bite to eat. And have a coffee. Had live music and friendly staff.

Harbor Cove Cafe overlooks the Ventura Marina very close to the Channel Islands National Park headquarters. There is a covered dining patio, and a lrge lawn with picnic tables. A great place to enjoy a sunny day at the beach. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The menu offers a wide selection, and they have a full bar- Tiki drinks and PuPu trays being the Happy Hour specialties.

HH Mai Tai - Hawaiian vibes and strong

This place was wonderful, definitely come check it out when in Ventura! After a day of hiking and being outdoors on Anacapa Island, I came here on a Friday afternoon to soak up more good weather and island vibes. I read some of the Yelp reviews and all are accurate in that this place has a Hawaiian theme and really makes you feel you're there! Sunny, friendly, laid back. You order at the window, take a number and then find a seat. I chose to sit out in the lawn as Friday nights are karaoke nights so was nice to enjoy my early dinner, a drink and listen to some music. I ordered the calamari and that was very good! Tender and flavorful, it was a lot of food, so had some leftover for a second meal. Coleslaw was good and I usually do not like coleslaw. I had a mai tai, but will say, I probably would pass on this the next time as it was just way too strong for me. Very pretty drink and if you like a very spirity drink, this one is for you. There was a guy singing who was phenomenal and honestly I could have listened to him all night. Great island vibes here, perfect for outdoor seating, but just not the menu is on the tad bit pricier side. I came in on Friday which had happy hour going to 8pm. Check our their HH specials, some good deals. I'd definitiely come back here again when I am in town again! Thanks for a wonderful night, Harbor Cove Cafe!

This place has been on my bucket list for a while now, and my family and I finally made it! It gives Hawaiian vibes, and the best part is that it's right here in beautiful Ventura, so you don't have to travel all the way to Hawaii to feel like you're there! We were there for Happy Hour, and I ordered a Mai Tai. It was amazing and just the right amount of alcohol. For the food, we ordered sesame-crusted ahi tuna, coconut shrimp, and chicken skewers. Everything was so tasty! My favorite was the coconut shrimp. We also received a complimentary pineapple upside-down cake, which was so moist and sweet. I enjoyed it. We also ordered chocolate chip cooks which are made from scratch there. The service was truly exceptional. Tracy was fantastic! She was super sweet, friendly, and helpful. One thing that makes a big difference when eating out for me is good customer service, and they really go above and beyond for their customers. We also had the pleasure of meeting Randy, the owner, who was out there helping serve customers. This place has definitely become one of my favorite places to eat!

The Hawaiian was very savory with some sweet making it overall a delicious burger. Patty and bacon were good and juicy with the addition of the teriyaki sauce and pineapple blending that sweetness just helped balanced the burger. Cole slaw was sweet but delicious too and the drink was very sweet. Overall everything was balanced well but the star was the burger. Service was quick, friendly and helpful. Ambiance was nice even during the rain as there were still people there and Starr kept multiple mini fireplaces out to warm up the patio dining area. Would come back!

The service here is fantastic and their food is just amazing. You can either sit on a little patio or inside and look at the boats and water. They have a little fire pits at the tables in case you're chilly. The fish and chips are out of this world and the mahi-mahi burger sandwich is killer!!! Everything was fresh and delicious. The french fries are amazing. It's a little bit of a drive from the freeway, but it's worth every second.!

Moco loco?! Yep, and so good too. Get your booty over to Harbor Cove Cafe where they serve great food and drinks, and even a bit of live music during certain hours. A fantastic place to come for breakfast or lunch and dog friendly to friendly dogs. If you love onion rings, this is the place. The onion rings are HUGE and quite delicious.

Harbor Cove is the most relaxing place to go for breakfast. My husband and I love coming here and enjoying a Loco Moco (reminds me of a Salisbury steak with amazing house made gravy over rice and egg is the best to describe) and I really like the Butter Latte. Something about enjoying the great food paired with the beautiful view of the harbor just pure serenity. The staff is consistently friendly, like really friendly. They often walk by to ask if you need anything or just to make sure you're enjoying your meal. I am a Harbor Cove fan!

Every Saturday there is a ukulele live music brunch/lunch event! We came for brunch and to catch the live music and island vibes. Food was good vibes were super chill and relaxing just like you're on a Hawaiian island. The event was a bunch of elderly playing ukulele and guitar and percussion instruments! It was so wholesome and sweet. A lot of the elderly in the community come out with their instruments and sheet music and start playing along on the grass! I loved the live music and community feel. Wish more places did events like this. The Hawaiian music and ukulele definitely brought me back to hawaii. You order at the window and they bring it to you based on your number. You can either sit inside, on the patio, or on the grassy area. Water is self service ambit you can also ask them to grab you some water. If you want plates and utensils to share make sure to ask for them! They are more than happy to help. I asked them for extra pico and they brought it right away! Seafood quesadilla: super cheesy and meaty. Lots of shrimp but not as much crab. Love the pico and the salsa is spicy. They also give you sweet and sour huli huli sauce. Recommend getting it with the potato's as a side. Hawaiian burrito: I didn't really like this one... so much rice... like 90% rice 5% egg and 5% sausage. Not great. Gives pico salsa and huli huli but this couldn't really save it. Also pineapple is weird in a burrito imo. Loco loco: GOOD! But so small. Loco Moco is supposed to be a huge plate of rice, meat and egg on top with a delicious gravy but it was a small portion in a bowl with one egg. Also the gravy was not that flavorful. But the kulua pork was great and everything mixed over rice hit pretty hard. Huli huli rice was meh. Just rice and sweet and sour sauce. Not worth it. Get potato as a side. Price: pretty pricey. Especially that burrito... for a bunch of rice. Seafood quesadilla for $30? Not much crab. Pretty basic. Not worth it in my opinion. Didn't try their craft seltzers or drinks but I'm sure they're awesome! The bar is pretty large with a lot of variety. Come for the vibes!

The decor is crowded and not cohesive. It feels cluttered. The tables are and walls and seats are sticky even when clean. It just all seemed a bit...dingy. They had that fun little peg game to play to keep you busy but half of them are missing pieces and they are also really dirty. We ordered hot chocolate (yum) and some basic breakfast items. My husband really liked his items. He said he would give his at least a 4 stars, but this is my yelp review lol. My food was very bland and not flavorful. I could have made the same thing at home. I don't mind spending money. In fact, I love going out to a good breakfast, but it has to be a good breakfast. If it's subpar it's really a waste of money and calories for me and that what I feel this experience was. I think I got "crunchy" French toast and it had mildly soggy corn Flakes on it. The idea was fun but the execution wasn't great. My husband simply ordered meat, eggs and potatoes. It was okay, nothing to write home about. Take what I say with a grain of salt and maybe try it for yourself. It could have been an off day for the kitchen or staff? Personally I don't think I will be back or recommend but I can tell you there were clearly regulars here that day and they do have quite a reputation so at some point they have done something right.

At 9:30AM there was already a line with about 5 parties ahead of us. We only waited for about 20 minutes and we were able to sit al fresco to enjoy the sun & people watching. I ordered a Cortado with Oat milk for my espresso kick and my husband enjoyed the Tuscan Sunrise juice from the seasonal menu (fresh pineapple, orange, carrot, ginger, lemon and tumeric) that was refreshing and restoring. I loved their signature Breakfast Lasagna, which was fully stacked and hearty - layers of bacon, bechamel, prosciutto cotto, spinach, eggs, and mozzarella, all smothered in marinara and topped with a fried egg. It's more than filling and great to share with someone who ordered brunch entree on the sweet side like pancakes or Belgium waffles. My husband had the Chicken Avocado Bacon Panini with Swiss & cheddar cheeses, butter lettuce, garlic aioli and caramelized onions. He asked to omit the roma tomatoes. I had a bite and it was yummy...great for a lunchy entree. We finished the meal with another season menu item, the Pistachio Ricotta Cake. I could have ordered two...not to share, just for me. It was really good and I hope they keep it to their standard menu. The service was at a slower pace, but the server did check on us periodically. Water is self serve. Drip coffee- perfect and high quality. It tasted like Kona coffee! Lavender matcha- great and well balanced Japanese milk bread- this fell a tad short for me. I would've liked both sides to be seasoned/flavored. Japanese Milk bread is typically moist and fluffy , however this was a little dry likely due to the toasting of the bread. The color overall was lighter than expected. It's served with a berry sauce which is really yummy. Side of smashed potatoes- really good. Perfectly seasoned and ketchup tasted homemade Aussie meat pie- soooooo delicious! The crust was awesome and the meat was tender. We also loved the side salad because it had a little zing of lemon. A rare moment where a side salad is actually fantastic! Miso chicken katsu Sando- really loved this! The chicken breast is huge. As other reviews stated, it's not a typical chicken katsu. If you like honey, you'll like this. The honey sauce hits you on the front end and ends with a little acidity from the aioli and slaw. The sandwich was super juicy and flavorful. While large, it didn't feel heavy. Each bite got better and better. Brontë bowl - OUR FAVORITE!!!! Ok first off, I hate mushrooms with a passion, but I kept them in the order because they are curried and I knew theyre an essential part of the dish. They were awesome. I didn't mind them one bit. This dish does not need salmon, and if anything I think adding it would've been too salty. I naturally eat fast but this bowl makes you slow down because of the layers/elements. The sweetness of onions, the creaminess of the feta and avocado, the crunch from the seeds, the delicious pesto, the buttered bread, the perfectly poached eggs - UGH! So perfect! Everything had a purpose. I am obsessed with this bowl. It is so much more filling than you'd think. I could eat this everyday and I hope they never change it. Ambiance was great. We sat at the bar which felt spacious. The inside is gorgeous and just puts you in a good mood. The best thing about this place is the staff. Literally every single person we interacted with was amazing! Everyone here is friendly, warm, and just looks happy to be there. I can't wait to return!!!!!

It has that comfortable playful energy where you can sit down talk with someone enjoy your food and feel like you are part of a fun little world without any pressure at all. I did not expect it to feel that youthful and inviting but it absolutely did. One thing that stood out to me more than anything else was the garlic bread. Busy Bee Cafe is the only location I know that has garlic bread with a taste I genuinely love. I do not even know if they sell that exact garlic bread online and honestly that mystery makes it feel even more special. The flavor is warm buttery and rich in a way that hits you instantly. It is the kind of garlic bread that teenagers would enjoy a lot especially if they are hanging out with friends and looking for something comforting and delicious to share. It is rare to find something so simple that leaves such a strong impression. While I was there I noticed a lot of teenagers enjoying the space and it made perfect sense. The cafe has a classic retro charm that feels both nostalgic and fresh at the same time. It is the kind of place where teenagers can take pictures enjoy the decor and feel completely at ease. The environment supports creativity and fun without trying too hard. I appreciated that same feeling myself. It reminded me of how easy it can be to enjoy a place when the atmosphere naturally encourages you to relax and be present. I have only visited Busy Bee Cafe once in my life before writing this review but that one visit was more than enough to make it memorable. It is rare to find a place that feels relaxed and exciting at the same time but this cafe manages to do that effortlessly. The garlic bread alone makes me want to return but the overall experience is what stays with you. It is playful welcoming and full of life in a way that makes you feel mentally sharp youthful and connected to the moment. I would highly recommend that teenagers go to Busy Bee Cafe in Ventura. It gives them a place to enjoy great food take pictures hang out with friends and feel creative and energized. It is one of the most enjoyable and unexpectedly fun spots I have been to in a long time and I am glad I got to experience it the way I did.
