GETTING HERE: Café 126 is located off of the Wells Road exit on Highway 126. It's in the little strip mall across the street (Citrus) from Jack-in-the-Box and the Rocket/76 station. It's located on the corner of the strip mall. REVIEW: I say this all the time in my reviews, but I cannot believe this is my first time having gone to Café 126. These type of restaurants always seem to allude me and then I get so angry at myself for waiting so long before I tried them. :-) Very tiny hole in the wall place, but I think that is what gives Café 126 It's charm and flavor. The food was excellent; service was kind of basic, but it was a really really busy day when I came. I definitely will be back. I definitely will try their lunch items, next. This hidden gem deserves the hype. Small diner feel with very sweet servers. The biscuits are homemade and thicc with 2 c's. It would be nice if they offer their own Jam, but the biscuits themselves were awesome. The country fried steak is what they're known for, I preferred the French toast. buttery perfection. if you can't decide between the home fries and the hashbrowns, they're willing to do both (50/50), so that was nice! The menu offers hearty breakfast and lunch classics--everything from chicken-fried steak and omelets to sandwiches and burgers. My friend ordered the chicken-fried steak made with chicken (9/10), while I got Beth's Skillet--a generous mix of eggs, ham, potatoes, peppers, mushrooms, and smothered in delicious gravy (10/10). The portions were huge, and everything tasted homemade and comforting. The staff were all exceptionally courteous and attentive, even so close to closing time. I had the Country Breakfast while I was ravenously hungry. It didn't disappoint. They dowse the biscuits and with gravy, which was heavenly for this southern girl. Stopped into Café 126 for breakfast and it really hit the spot. I ordered the breakfast burrito with chorizo and hash browns (off the menu, not the early bird special) along with a cup of coffee. The coffee was solid and came with real half and half that was actually chilled -- such a small detail but it makes a big difference, and I appreciated it. The chorizo breakfast burrito was amazing -- super filling, packed with flavor, and definitely one I'd come back for again. Service was great too. The waitress brought our order over and there were 3 plates. The pancakes and the steak were the size of the plate. The food tasted great and we couldn't finish it. The ambiance is small, loud and busy. The service was great, super nice servers! The food was nothing exciting and they definitely know how to burn toast. unfortunately I had multiple hairs that were not mine in my food, I couldn't finish my food because of that. I haven't been back since. I know mistakes happen, but if I get grossed out, there's no going back for me. I know they've been around a long time, so I hope their sanitation standards improve. I came to this restaurant with my dad for father's day. We got here and were told it would be a 15 minute wait to get to our table. After waiting 30, minutes we finally got our table and ordered right away because we have other plans after this and were in a rush. It's now 12:30 and we arrived here at 11:25. Been waiting for over an hour and still haven't gotten our food. The server cane up to ys and told us she will get our food out of the kitchen quickly and that was about 20 minutes ago. Took my in laws out for breakfast this morning and we decided to come check this place out. We were so happy that we did as we have another solid breakfast joint to add to our list. We came by on a Sunday morning at 9am and there was seating indoor and outdoor. We were suprised to be seated so quickly so that was a huge plus for us. We choose outdoor and it was a great morning breakfast outside. I decided to go with the 14" breakfast burrito and got ham as the my choice of meat. Very good burrito. Great ingredients and overall good flavor. Would rate the burrito a 8.5 out of 10. Ham was very flavorful and I'm assuming the ham steak dish would make a really good meal. I think that's what I'm coming back to try next time. My partner got the French toast and her plate was the star of the morning. The bread was a high quality brioche bread and it was PERFECT. The salty butter with the powdered sugar was a great add on. Would easily rate this dish a 10 out of 10. The in laws were very pleased with their meals and I was very happy and thankful about that. A solid, solid breakfast option. Nothing really blew me away but everything we all got was good. I would choose this over similar places like Cajun kitchen. Got there at about 930 on Saturday morning with a party of seven and waited for 10 or so minutes for their one big table to clear out they were plenty of servers who were all very attentive so drinks and ordering and food all came smoothly. It's a small place with not too many inside tables and on a rainy day like today we weren't feeling like sitting outside so it was a little tight inside but not bad. We got a bunch of different options ranging from pancakes which were nice and fluffy, two different scrambles, and chile Verde and eggs. We all tried the various different sizes be at hashbrowns or home fries and biscuits and gravy. Again everything was good. Nothing really blew me away and my only minor things where I thought the home fries could be a little crispier and the gravy was pretty underwhelming.
