Chile Verde wet burrito

IYKYK this is the brunch spot! There's a line depending on what time you get here. FOOD 4.5/5 Homemade cinnamon rolls = 5/5 - Soft, fresh and not overall too sweet - it's' perfect! Chile verde "wet" burrito = 4/5 - The verde sauce is delish! AMBIENCE 4/5 Great spacious spot and clean ambience. SERVICE 5/5 Awesome service and they consistently come around to ensure your coffee cup or drinks are topped off. Very attentive and friendly! PARKING 5/5 Easy parking esp since it's in a large shopping plaza

This place has pretty good food, although in all fairness I thought it's a little pricey for the location and for what they have to offer. It's located in an office park so there is ample free parking. There didn't seem to be any other restaurants nearby, so perhaps that's the reason they charge a bit more. However, it's not totally unreasonable and the food is very good. I ordered the Mediterranean Turkey Burger for lunch, which comes with a choice of various sides. Nicely, they have several options such as fruit, cole slaw, etc, so you do not have to have french fries with your meal unless that's what you want.

Cafe Amri is located at the tiny Oxnard Outlet. Plenty of parking in the big lot. It's next door to Social Security Office & a private gym. Food was great & Customer Service was great too! Despite seeing many patrons waiting outside, we still put our name on the list. Anticipated & waited 25-30 mins on a Sunday morning. They close at 2pm, which is why they can be busy. They serve Breakfast & Lunch here, so lots to choose from. Breakfast portions are huge. After many years, I'll still order the Chicken Fried Steak & even the Chicken Chicken Fried Steak. It's a pretty heavy meal. Next time I'll definitely split a plate. Was craving some Fluffy pancakes, so that's what I got.

Friendly service with a family vibe. Spacious restaurant with its own style. Cafe Amri is a word play on their owner, Irma. This is a family restaurant through and through. I've tried a selection of their menu which has a mixture of your classic American with a bit of their take on Mexican cuisine as well. They serve breakfast and lunch. Their monte cristo and cinnamon French toast are a favorite!!

Always friendly and always tasty! Spoke with Irma today and she's a delight! Hence the name Cafe Amri (Irma backwards). Came in to treat my mom to breakfast. Pretty busy crowd for a Friday morning. Grabbed some coffee and flavored creamer along with an order of chicken chicken fried steak. Never had that before only chicken fried steak before. But it was rich and delicious. Perfect gravy flavor and texture! Was surprised to see how busy it was for a Friday morning. It was a crowded house. But we were seated rather quickly and our food came out in good timing. This was the first time for my mom but she said she was ready to share with her friends.

And let me tell you, when you're heading to an island for kayaking and hiking, securing food starts to feel less like lunch planning and more like wilderness survival strategy. The online ordering process, though, gave my husband a minor technological character-building experience. Not especially intuitive or user friendly. Then, on the morning of the trip, we weren't entirely sure where the lunches would actually appear. Tiny scavenger hunt energy. Thankfully, they were waiting for us at the ferry office, and we both immediately took the same relieved breath: "Excellent. We shall not perish on the island." The sandwiches themselves were genuinely delicious. I had the Caprese, my husband had the turkey baguette, and both were fresh, flavorful, and substantial enough to fuel actual adventure instead of just delaying hunger by 20 minutes. Each lunch box also came with chips, Fuji water, and a chocolate chip cookie that quietly stole the show. Soft, delicious, and exactly the kind of reward you want after hauling yourself around an island pretending you're far more athletic than you really are. By the time lunch was over, I was happy, full, and fully prepared for the next round of kayaking and hiking. Which is really the highest compliment an adventure lunch can get.

Ordered coffee and took our goods down the street to watch the seals. Only ordered the drip coffee, nothing fancy here, but it was excellent. Good roast on the darker side, my only concern are the lids. Hot coffee filled to the top and as I lift my coffee the lid pops off sprinkling coffee as I tried to reach the counter to set it down. The lid didn't fit tight, so I asked for another lid. It stayed on as I walked to my table, but popped off again as I left. The strawberry custard croissant was flaky, smooshy and the berry itself was a marvel of ripeness and color. If you read my other reviews, I have a thing for chocolate croissants. This one was flaky and perfect looking and the honey on the shell made the layers of laminated dough even better. My first few bites were non-chocolate filled and filled with air pockets between the layers of dough. Once I reached the thin layer of chocolate, it was underwhelming. I may have to go back again and give it one more try.

I ordered the sugar-free vanilla oat latte, and my brother-in-law got the cold brew with milk. I also picked up a Dubai chocolate cookie and a chocolate croissant. The coffee never disappoints--there's so much flavor in every sip, with a subtle hint of honey that really stands out. You honestly just have to try it. They also offer seasonal drinks and fun specialty drinks, including ones with cereal, which adds a unique touch. The pastries are just as amazing. The cookie was perfectly balanced--not overly sweet, just right. The chocolate croissant, especially when warmed, is incredible. The chocolate melts perfectly, giving you the perfect bite every time. Overall, the food is great and the coffee is outstanding. Customer service is just as impressive. Ethan is usually there whenever I stop by, and he's always so welcoming and patient, especially when we take our time deciding on drinks. He never disappoints. I also love sitting in--the space is very cozy and makes you feel right at home. They offer both indoor seating and a nice outdoor option if you want some fresh air. I'll definitely keep coming back

Those are the positives and that's where it ends. Let's start with the main product, coffee. It's HORRIBLE! I could be snarky and insulting but I kind of feel bad for them. I've tried a few drinks and there is this crazy after taste that is simply unpleasant. The baked goods are hot and miss at best. Often dry and tasteless. Now, the staff. Over the years they've had some wonderful people, but the good ones don't seem to stay more than a few months. For whatever reason they retain anyone devoid of personality and energy. Product knowledge is virtually nonexistent. Enthusiasm? You'd think that the caffeine would wake them up, but no. It's like they are on heroin. I've interacted with someone who I'm told was the owner, but I can't imagine someone so blah and uninterested decided to open a coffee shop. This place has potential if they simply replace the coffee, staff, and sell to someone who actually cares.

Everyone knows of their sister business Smokin Jays but I am here to spread the word on their AM morning breakfast bites and coffee shop. The vibes here are always immaculate. Stepping inside they are always playing the best tunes (a little throwback Post Malone on the speakers at 9am to be exact) and a crew behind the counter that genuinely seems like best friends. The jokes and laughter flying around make this spot feel fun, welcoming, and real. The staffs positive attitudes are contagious, that's for sure. Now let's get into the good stuff....what did I order?: SAUSAGE & BACON BREAKFAST CROISSANT Low key one of the most slept on breakfast sandwiches in the 805. Candied bacon, juicy sausage patty, perfectly cooked egg, melty cheese on a warm buttery croissant. Absolute perfection. 10/10. GET THIS! Pro tip: grab the side of hash browns. The gooey cheese from the sandwich inevitably falls onto those crispy bites and suddenly you're in full food coma heaven. ICED MATCHA W/ STRAWBERRY COLD FOAM If you're a matcha lover, this one hits and it's a bit sweet (no complaints here). It's just good! They've got the brightest pink cold foam in the game, super refreshing, and just really well done. Is it ceremonial grade? I don't think so but sometimes a good matcha with fun foam is just what you needed regardless. WATERMELON MINT REFRESHER Not a coffee person? Their fruit refreshers are dangerously good. The watermelon mint is crisp, will cool you down, and super refreshing (hence the name). Tasty breakfast bites, solid drinks, and a badass crew. It's actually a BBQ restaurant with a coffee shop inside, so you can grab food and amazing coffee at the same time. The staff was super friendly and greeted us right away, which I always appreciate. We love a welcoming spot Their menu had sooo many options it was hard to pick, so I asked for their recommendations. They suggested the Butter Beer Latte and the Cookie Ice Latte, so of course I grabbed both... and I couldn't leave without my favorite, a sugar-free vanilla oat latte. Every drink was flavorful and unique, but honestly my regular was AMAZING--so creamy and perfect. I'd go back just for that any day! And then... we saw they had beignets How could I say no?! 100/10. They were coated in this sweet glaze and wow... they hit different. I was so sad eating the last one because I wanted more lol. We also tried the banana pudding on the way out. I'm not usually a banana pudding fan, so it wasn't my favorite, but if you like banana desserts you'll probably enjoy it. Overall, I'd definitely recommend checking them out for yourself!
