It's been quite a while since my last review of Loru's so it's time to up date. Came with my wife, adult daughter and her dog - so patio was a necessity. Our table was away from any cars so no car smell. They brought a bowl of water for the dog as soon as we were seated. Nice! Three of us shared the chicken fajita omelet ($20) and avocado toast ($14). The omelet was absolutely delicious! The omelet came with a side of macadamia pancakes. Two pancakes, stuffed with macadamia nuts and topped with bananas, whipped cream, and more macadamia nuts - one of the best pancakes I've had in a very long time and it was just a side dish for the terrific omelette. We got the avocado toast with a smoked salmon. (additional $7). Also excellent and that came with curly fries on the side, which were also extremely well done. Stopped in after a long day of shopping at the outlets. There were only 4 tables occupied yet it still took about 10 minutes for the rude waitress to come by. When the food came out she approached from behind and said "here" slapping the plates down, never asking if we needed anything or paying attention to my daughter trying to ask for a refill. One of the cooks who was attempting to eat his lunch noticed the interaction and came over to refill her drink. The food was just ok, but the avocado toast which my daughter gets at most restaurants was 13.99 for 1 slice of toast and mashed avocado. It is definitely not what you typically get at a cafe. Once we needed the bill the waitress came by and dropped it off then disappeared again. I had to find a different waitress to ring us up. Would not recommend. First off the food is always amazing and the atmosphere is great, but we keep going back for a specific sever (although the other servers we have had are also fantastic). Harriet was absolutely amazing! From the moment we sat down, she was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. She checked in at all the right times, kept our drinks filled, and made sure everything came out perfectly. What really stood out was her positive attitude and attention to detail. She went above and beyond to make our dining experience enjoyable, and her excellent customer service did not go unnoticed. Early one morning, on our way back from Santa Barbara, our two-hour drive had definitely worked up an appetite. Luckily, while charging our vehicle, we stumbled upon this wonderful little café and what a great find it was. If you're stopping to charge, I highly recommend making it an early morning stop so you can enjoy breakfast here. The pancakes were delicious fluffy, buttery, and everything you want in a good stack of pancakes. I was happy, full, and completely satisfied... but I still had my eye on my hubby's breakfast burrito. Thankfully, he was willing to share . I'm so glad he did because it was every bit as delicious as it looked and made the perfect meal for the last 45 minutes of our drive home. Have been here twice. Reviewing this time and it's average. We did come on a Sunday so of course busy. But found service to be nothing ordinary. Needed to get our waiters attention for anything. Came here to get a quick bite for breakfast and it did not disappoint. My husband and I shared the chile relleno omelette and it was so flavorful, nothing like we've ever had before. Service was friendly and quick. Ambiance was nice, plenty of tables and chairs, parking is nice and located in the camarillo outlets shopping area. We arrived to the restaurant at 11:30AM. Place was busy. Which I think is a good sign. Great reviews were on point. We wanted breakfast and here it's served all day. My wife got the chilaquiles topped with steak. I got the eggs, sausage, potatoes, with a waffle. When my wife's plate arrived. I knew I mis-ordered should have went with my gut. It's World Cup so the place was a buzz. Not loud but the excitement was in the air. The soccer game was on. So we wanted to stay but didn't want to over stay our welcome. lol. Definitely coming back. Just be mindful that a cup of coffee here is $3.99, I kind of misinterpreted the server asking me "Do you want coffee or orange juice?" when I was first sitting down to mean that it's complimentary. I should have just went with a cup of water honestly. The server could have been more transparent about the pricing with me. It also felt like he was rushing me to leave already even though there were so much open space (and I arrived later than the others around me), but I didn't take his customer service to heart. Thankfully the prices weren't too bad and the meal was pretty great. I was immediately seated for a solo brunch here. The Fall Menu looked very delicious and I went ahead to order the Fall Mini Breakfast, which included eggs, I chose bacon strips (2), and the fall pancakes (2). There was a bit of a wait but that meant the food came out hot and fresh! I found the egg and bacon platter to be cooked very well! Just how I liked them. The bacon was crispy thin and yummy, while the eggs were soft and creamy. The pancakes were also cooked so well! The batter mix was delicious and there was traces of pumpkin with the pancake, and topped with just the right amount of fruits, syrup, and powdered sugar (no additional syrup needed ontop if you ask me). I was super stuffed with this meal that I couldn't finish one pancake. read more

A nice midsized restaurant located in a strip mall. Very well furnished and pleasant staff. We arrived at opening at 7am and the mall looked closed, but when we entered we were greeted and seated quickly for a saturday. Many breakfast options, which were very sweet and tasty. I had the Loru's combo with bacon and a cinnamon roll french toast (AMAZING) and my wife had the crepe flight. These are very sweet, a little too sweet for my wife, but great food. We also enjoyed the large coffee options. I had a iced vanilla and my wife opted for the excellent cappuccino. A little pricey, but average for the area. Tipping was optional. Bathrooms needed a lot more attention. They were getting worn and needed a deep clean. That was the weak spot and cost them a star. But food and service were top notch. read more

Had to stop by the outlets after work and since I didn't want to drive home in traffic I decided to have an early dinner there. Loru's was just a few doors down and so it was an easy decision. It was quite empty when I walked in, only one table was occupied. I waited briefly at the front and the server then came over and said I could sit wherever I wanted. After giving me some time to review the menu she came over and told me about their Taco Tuesday special and of course I had to order that because who doesn't like tacos!?! I also got the chile verde with pork omelette with a side of fruit. Flavor wise everything was pretty good. My only issue was that everything seemed a bit overcooked, the meats were a bit dry and the omelette were a little chewy. If not for that then it would have been perfect! Service was good, my server regularly checked on me. It was a pretty solid experience and will be on my rotation for when I'm at the outlets. read more

What a great surprise! My friend went for breakfast last week and loved it, so she took me to try the dinner menu. It was the special - the pasta with salad with homemade Ranch dressing (one of the best I've had) , hot delicious pasta, yummy baked potato and probably the best tapioca pudding. Seriously! With such a massive menu I was bound to order the wrong thing. I hope. The Lorus breakfast says it includes 2 eggs and if they're using the smallest eggs possible then they're probably accurate. The plate was half potato's [which were ok] and a pittance of eggs and 2 of the smallest sausages also. The tables are so crowded together indoors you're going to almost be eating off your neighbors plate. Service was a joke, we moved tables 3 times and had to ask for syrup for pancakes twice before I got it. If you don't ask for the bill you'll be sitting there all day. Water refills? Again, better ask. With so many employees, it's shocking the lack of service we received. Overall, one of the most un-enjoyable breakfast places in town but given that it was New Year's Day I can chalk it up to being busier than normal. On a hunt to find somewhere to eat after a day of shopping, we were undecided on a place to go. There are plenty of options in and near the outlets but the lines and crowds were getting big. Fortunately we stumbled on Loru's Cafe which provided a wide array of menu options which included breakfast for dinner! The menu is extensive and the portions were generous. I enjoyed a heaping plate of country fried steak and hash browns. All of it was yummy and quite filling to a point where I had to skip the toast. The kiddo really liked his pancakes and the club sandwich was thoroughly enjoyed as well. Service was solid and for the prices, I think the value was solid. Overall I think Loru's is a good option to fill your hunger after a long day of shopping. Give this place a try! read more

Stopped by Loru's while doing some outlet shopping and it was a great spot for a quick breakfast. Service was great, our waiter was attentive and very helpful. I ordered the machaca breakfast and it was delicious! I especially liked that the meat in it was tender and soft. I also ordered iced coffee (it is on the sweeter side) and it was refillable - which was a fun surprise! This place was great. It was our first time there and weren't exactly sure what to expect. We walked in and we're promptly greeted by a friendly hostess. There was ample seating. We got our beverages. We ordered quickly. They gave us plenty of time to peruse the menu and checked on us often. The menu itself is vast there is something for everybody on this menu. We were there in between breakfast and lunch so I ordered the breakfast tacos. They were quite large and full of flavor. Everything was prepared fresh and it tasted as such. I chose the breakfast potatoes over the hashbrowns and they were wonderful. My husband got chicken and waffles and he really enjoyed them as well. Drinks weren't refilled, Multiple waitresses walked by and still didn't ask for a refill. Had no choice but to eat my cold food without any drink. I had the breakfast since bread was not an option. I'm allergic to dairy, they were not able to confirm either way. Not great for anyone with allergies. That limited the options. I had a strange flower on my plate. Some might like that but if I can't eat it then don't put it on my plate. The eggs and hash browns were cooked well considering there was no butter. Believe me there are so few places that can't cook simple eggs right. The fruit bowl was good lots of fresh ripe fruit. The place is clean and the one person I meet was nice. Upon asking for the check - using the wireless machine, Leo stood there (on top of us) looking to see how much tip we were going to leave). Who does this? The service at Loru's was good when they first opened but it has continued to go downhill every time we come. This time, we both said we don't think we will ever come back. You would think that since I was early I would get the good stuff. Unfortunately my ribeye steak and eggs did not come out the way I asked. I asked for medium steak and I got Well done. And the cinnamon roll omg! Was so dry!!! They put a lot of whipped cream or whatever is on top to mask the dryness. I'm so disappointed because I love coming here for the cafe de olla. Cute cafe in the Camarillo Outlets. We sat in a comfy booth, and there were plenty of tables on a Thursday morning. Our waiter was Leo, an experienced server with a good sense of humor. Coffee was good. I liked that he left us our own carafe of coffee. Servings were well-portioned and decorated with fresh orchids -- a nice touch. I enjoyed my simple breakfast of eggs, bacon and hash browns. Toast was fine, but I didn't care for the spread on it. My friend's spinach omelet with home potatoes was a beautiful sight. The prices do not match the quality at all. Everything tasted like it came straight out of a can completely lacking flavor and care. They try to dress the plates up by adding purple flowers for the aesthetic, but it doesn't improve the taste whatsoever. My mom ordered the chilaquiles and the chips were already soggy when they arrived, with zero flavor. The meat was dry not even chewy or tough just an unpleasant texture, honestly similar to hair texture. The beans tasted exactly like canned beans. My dad ordered a skillet and only ate the eggs and tortilla. Everything else on the plate was burnt. The taste was so bad it reminded me of burnt plastic no seasoning, no balance, nothing. For the prices being charged, we expected much better quality and execution. Eating out as a family should feel worth it, and unfortunately this experience was beyond disappointing. Amazing menu full of variety! You can't possibly pick anything wrong on the menu and we had a range of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options for everyone in our party. Everyone got something that they loved and we shared. Cam (I believe) was our server and they were so quick to attend to us. Didn't bother us too much and talked to us at the right times too!
