Our first time at Immigrant Son, and it was okay. Keep in mind, we got there a half hour before close, so there were some things that were not available and others that didnt seem super fresh. I think if you get there earlier, those 3 stars would be 4 or 5. The food was above average, but not roll your eyes in the back of your head awesome. The juices were exceptional. The service is the highlight here. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable about everything on the menu, and attentive without being a bother. There are tons of places to eat and drink on the Vemtura ped mall, and Immagrant Son is a sure bet, it just won't be the best meal you'll ever have in Ventura--Lure and Paradise Pantry are the front runners for that.

We tried Immigrant Son Caffe for the first time on 02/14/2026 for brunch, arriving at about 9:45AM. Parking is so easy via the free municipal lot behind the restaurant. There was a short line at 9:45am; however, we were seated pretty quickly. We sat outside on the street facing tables, and it was a beautiful morning. I had the Chicken Avocado Bacon Panini, which was delicious with ingredients as the name applies; however, it also had swiss, cheddar, lettuce and some aioli. It does also come with tomatoes; however, I opted out of that. I also had a fresh pressed juice; however, I forget the exact ingredients. It was a little ginger heavy for me; however, still delicious. It was also reasonably priced for fresh juice. My Husband had the breakfast lasagna, and I got to enjoy a bite of that, and it was also great. All in all, a 5 star experience.

Such a great breakfast spot. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and has that perfect buzz where you feel relaxed but still part of something fun. There was a short wait, but it was absolutely worth it. The service was fantastic. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was just right. The staff communicates well and you can feel that they genuinely care about the experience. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Every bite was flavorful. We even ended up chatting with another couple nearby, which made the whole morning feel even more special and community-driven. Great energy, great food, great service. We'll definitely be back.

The line went by very quickly and the pasta was delicious! Love that it came with the bread bowl (which was also really good ) the service was good and love their plates and utensils. I will say it's on the pricer side but it is in downtown so it's to be expected.

Immigrant Son in Ventura is honestly one of the best brunch spots I've been to. From the moment you walk in, the vibe feels warm, modern, and really welcoming -- not fake or try-hard like some places on Main Street. The food is amazing and actually different from the typical breakfast spots. You can tell everything is made with care, especially the Italian-style dishes and the coffee. The portions are good, the presentation is cute, and everything tastes fresh. The service is also super friendly and fast, which makes the whole experience even better. It's definitely one of those places that lives up to the hype. If you're looking for a nice brunch spot in Ventura that feels unique and not basic, this is it. I would 100% go back again.

This is my favorite breakfast in town! The classic Benedict is their best. We love the bacon flight and the deviled eggs. Ive had every breakfast item. One can't go wrong. They make great lattes. Both indoor and outdoor seating are comfortable. The staff is very pleasant. We will continue to return.

Excellent restaurant in the heart of the main street in downtown Ventura. We were a large party of 14 and were seated outside in the covered patio area out in the front of the restaurant. The entire street has been blocked from traffic permanently for several blocks, allowing for lots of outdoor patio access. Friendly and attentive staff who took our orders and handled our meals when they were ready. As for the food, our group ordered a variety of different dishes for brunch. Some highlights: 1. Sandwiches: delicious options. A few folks in our group ordered the Immigrant Son sandwich and the Chicken Parmgiana. 2. Chicken and Waffles: decent. It was boneless chicken that had been breaded and fried in beef tallow, then dusted heavily with Parmesan cheese. Not exactly what you'd expect for this dish, but it's their version so you can't really complain. 3. Omelettes: really well done! They have a few different versions that offer different flavors and fillings. You can't go wrong with any of the choices. 4. Coffee: excellent lattes! Highly recommend to check this place out.

Another great visit to immigrant son Café. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door and Michael our server was very attentive and helpful. I wanted lunch. my husband wanted breakfast so this was the perfect spot to get both. The immigrant sandwich is a prosciutto, burrata, pesto and olive oil served on a salted baguette or their house made focaccia. Do not pass on the house made focaccia! A side salad or Caesar salad is offered at an additional cost. I chose the Caesar salad and while the dressing was good, it was a little too tangy for me and many pieces of the lettuce were showing signs of browning, but the delicious sandwich was really the focal point. My husband devoured his Giovanni omelette, filled with prosciutto, pancetta, provolone, and caramelized onions, and the side potatoes are just the perfect blend of seasoning, caramelized onions, peppers, and red potatoes. I snuck a few just so my review could be accurate (ha ha). The café is tastefully decorated for Christmas and is in the heart of Ventura on Main Street, There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating including a nice bar area. It can be a busy restaurant at peak hours and worth the wait.

The food was fresh and delicious. Service was fast and friendly. We both ordered Bloody Mary's and Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict and they both were great! They have an outdoor bistro and one room of the restaurant opens to the outside. Very fun place!

wow, I came here because recommend by my friend for breakfast. I didn't know what to order. Everything looks better than the other from the coffee to the breakfast to the pasta. Everything delicious thank you so much Michael for service and for my birthday cake

This place is SO good!! It is crowded and busy, but we barely waited to get seated even with a line out the door. My partner and I ordered the chicken and waffles and rigatoni pesto bowl. We devoured our meal. - chicken waffles: the chicken was flavorful and delicious, waffle was perfectly made, the chili butter it came with was delightful. - rigatoni pesto: this was super yummy! The pesto is fresh. If you've never had fresh pesto before, it might taste green, but it's so good!! The ratio of pasta, sauce, chicken, and sun dried tomato was really good. The bowl at the end was also so good. It's like flatbread pizza. So my partner and I ate everything down to the bowl. In the yelp photos the portions seemed small, but it's not - it's perfect and actually a lot of food. We are so full! Good vibes, kind staff, clean interior. But, there's only 1 bathroom so if you need to go, you might need to wait

After strolling down Main St, we happily ran into Immigrant Son Caffe. I had bookmarked it and it was clearly a popular choice on Main St. They have outdoor and indoor seating and we chose to sit outside to enjoy the weather. This spot closes at 2pm and has a great brunch/lunch Italian inspired menu. We chose the Tallow Fried Chicken and Waffles, which included Riccota and Rosemary Waffles, Parmesan Breaded Chicken, and Calabrian Chili Butter. The chicken was super crispy and tender and we loved the parmesan breading. We also tried the Avocado Pomodoro Toast. The tomato, garlic, and onion is a diced mix that I asked to have on the side. The generously topped avocado sourdough toast was topped with two perfectly cooked poached eggs and I topped it with the provided fresh basil and olive oil. Overall, great service and delicious food!

Strawberry's that I got late after eating half of the pancakes. 2 out of 10.

Did you ever go somewhere the food looked better than it tasted? I was very disappointed. I should have had my daughter made her BOMB blueberry pancakes. And my wife's fried potatoes and save my daughter $90 (Yes, my youngest daughter paid, she never pays so I jumped at the opportunity)! I had the pancakes with only strawberries and potatoes. Service was ok, felt rushed. NOPE, won't be going back to this place. I will say they have a kick ass looking expresso machine but I don't drink coffee. Oh by the way they have water in this very nice looking bottle but it tasted like it was ref illed with tap water-gross.she

    Parisian omelette was delicious!

Hi Sarah! We have a very casual format and do not accept reservations. There will probably be a small line around that time.. Your party would order and then sit and we will make sure a suitable table is ready for your party. Our corkage is $12 and… Read more

Parking was easy across the street & thru the alley, in the lot with many 4-hr parking spots. Sarah was super warm from the moment we sat down to when we left. Friendly, spot on service, & such lovely energy! She gave us some recommendations - which were really helpful bc there are so many great-sounding things on the menu. We loved everything we tried: Bacon cheddar biscuits - the crunchy bottom crust, the bits of bacon throughout the tender middles, & the sticky glazed/chive topped tops were so so good. The whipped goat cheese butter was almost unnecessary. A must get! We saw others with baskets of fresh sourdough bread - we didn't get any, but we will next time. Sally's sand dabs - a generous amount of lightly floured, delicate wild caught fish with a delicious lemon butter caper sauce. My pineapple coleslaw & parm potato cake were excellent sides. This was super good. Grilled rockfish tacos - 2 large tacos, with our chosen side of miso brussel sprouts. Delicious, with big pieces of super fresh rockfish. Roasted butternut squash - this side of mapley glazed, heavily garlicky squash was delicious. There were a few lesser roasted pieces of squash mixed in but the ones that were more soft & roasty made it all delicious. The covered outside patio was slightly breezy & the option to have the heaters on or off was nice. Walking thru the inside, I saw their beautiful full-service bar & the inside booths. Really, all were nice places to sit in any of the spots. Restaurant manager Kevin brought out a couple of our dishes & said hello, asking how our meals were. Nice! Great food, menu choices for carnivores, pescatarians, veggies, kids, really everyone. Add to that the easy parking & warm service & that makes this one of my fave places in the area. I'd highly recommend coming here for drinks, snacks, lunch, dinner, anytime!

In Ventura's industrial area, the Cave is a nice, cozy restaurant that is hidden in the Ventura Wine Company shop. We were greeted by live music which made a lively atmosphere. They have the self vending wine machine with a decent variety of wines for all. I'm going to be honest - I did question the pour size. We ended up buying a bottle of wine at dinner instead and I'm pretty sure that was the economical choice plus it gave me peace of mind. I will say - the plating of the food is strange. Giant plates for small portions never really sits well with me. The kitchen's "thinly sliced" waygu steak was also off putting visually. The Jumbo Scallops w/Leek & Truffle Risotto ($46) is a must order. Scallops perfectly pan seared and that risotto I would eat by itself. The Lemon Chardonnay sauce was incredible. The Slow Braised Beef Short Ribs ($39) was okay. The meat fell apart as it should. The red wine sauce was okay but lacked depth. The creamy mashed potatoes were very good and seasoned perfectly. Wasn't mad that I tried it but would not order again. Wagyu Top Sirloin 12 oz. ($48) was very good despite the poor slicing. The creamy mushroom sauce was perfect to add some flavor but not overpower the protein. The Pepperoni Pizza ($18) was decent for my son. My daughter planned to order the Seafood Pasta until she saw all of her favorite things combined: Mac and cheese, bacon and pizza - the Mac and Cheese Pizza ($21) was honestly top notch. It wasn't overly heavy, the depth of flavor was great and it's extremely tasty. The spicy aioli was top notch. Overall, a good experience at the Cave. I recommend giving it a try.
