Always amazing food and service. Sat outside for a Friday morning birthday brunch and it was perfect. Each dish was a must so come hungry!
Great brunch spot in Ventura with a great outdoor patio. Having brunch here was like being invited into a chef's home. Food came out quickly and their staff was kind enough to bring out a birthday dessert when they overheard us wishing someone in our party a happy birthday. The Caffé burger was dangerously good with a double patty. the panini wasn't pressed the way I think of with paninis but very generous with their burrata-yum! Must come back to try their breakfast lasagna!
Great food, nice ambiance, and very friendly staff. Everything came together for a really enjoyable experience. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something a little different. Would gladly come back!
A few weeks ago, my husband and I enjoyed a Saturday brunch at the Ventura location on our drive up to Paso Robles from Pasadena. At 9:30AM there was already a line with about 5 parties ahead of us. We only waited for about 20 minutes and we were able to sit al fresco to enjoy the sun & people watching. I ordered a Cortado with Oat milk for my espresso kick and my husband enjoyed the Tuscan Sunrise juice from the seasonal menu (fresh pineapple, orange, carrot, ginger, lemon and tumeric) that was refreshing and restoring. I loved their signature Breakfast Lasagna, which was fully stacked and hearty - layers of bacon, bechamel, prosciutto cotto, spinach, eggs, and mozzarella, all smothered in marinara and topped with a fried egg. It's more than filling and great to share with someone who ordered brunch entree on the sweet side like pancakes or Belgium waffles. My husband had the Chicken Avocado Bacon Panini with Swiss & cheddar cheeses, butter lettuce, garlic aioli and caramelized onions. He asked to omit the roma tomatoes. I had a bite and it was yummy...great for a lunchy entree. We finished the meal with another season menu item, the Pistachio Ricotta Cake. I could have ordered two...not to share, just for me. It was really good and I hope they keep it to their standard menu. The service was at a slower pace, but the server did check on us periodically. We'd definitely come back as we pass through and look forward to enjoying more brunchy Italian fare.
This place is great and lived up to the hype Sat on the patio under the shade and JT was wonderful. I love patio seating. Our server was great and attentive. I ordered the chicken panini. Friend ordered the caprese panini. We loved the flavors but it wasn't on a panini... it came on a baguette which was disappointing. Other friend got the eggs Benedict and loved it. We got an appetizer that I can't remember the name... it was shaved tomato ice over burrata cheese with focaccia bread. I loved it. It was so unique! Definitely would come back.
Our first time at Immigrant Son, and it was okay. Keep in mind, we got there a half hour before close, so there were some things that were not available and others that didnt seem super fresh. I think if you get there earlier, those 3 stars would be 4 or 5. The food was above average, but not roll your eyes in the back of your head awesome. The juices were exceptional. The service is the highlight here. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable about everything on the menu, and attentive without being a bother. There are tons of places to eat and drink on the Vemtura ped mall, and Immagrant Son is a sure bet, it just won't be the best meal you'll ever have in Ventura--Lure and Paradise Pantry are the front runners for that.
My companion and I ended up at Immigrant Son Caffe for breakfast after a weekend jaunt to Ventura. She got a the Giovanni omelette. It was flavorful and delicious. I got the Caffe breakfast. We both started with a drip coffee which was very flavorful. I think the omelette was probably better than the breakfast special, although the breakfast special was basic. The potatoes were very soft- more like a boiled potato than a breakfast potato. Also, they were overseasoned. There was what I imagine to be a homemade strawberry jam that went with the toast, it was fabulous. The service was decent, considering how busy the morning was and they were more attentive than other places we had been to in Ventura this weekend. With our check. We got two of Nonna's pizzelles-it was a nice touch. I think if I were to go again, I would try something off of the lunch menu.
We tried Immigrant Son Caffe for the first time on 02/14/2026 for brunch, arriving at about 9:45AM. Parking is so easy via the free municipal lot behind the restaurant. There was a short line at 9:45am; however, we were seated pretty quickly. We sat outside on the street facing tables, and it was a beautiful morning. I had the Chicken Avocado Bacon Panini, which was delicious with ingredients as the name applies; however, it also had swiss, cheddar, lettuce and some aioli. It does also come with tomatoes; however, I opted out of that. I also had a fresh pressed juice; however, I forget the exact ingredients. It was a little ginger heavy for me; however, still delicious. It was also reasonably priced for fresh juice. My Husband had the breakfast lasagna, and I got to enjoy a bite of that, and it was also great. All in all, a 5 star experience.
Such a great breakfast spot. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and has that perfect buzz where you feel relaxed but still part of something fun. There was a short wait, but it was absolutely worth it. The service was fantastic. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was just right. The staff communicates well and you can feel that they genuinely care about the experience. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Every bite was flavorful. We even ended up chatting with another couple nearby, which made the whole morning feel even more special and community-driven. Great energy, great food, great service. We'll definitely be back.
Excellent restaurant in the heart of the main street in downtown Ventura. We were a large party of 14 and were seated outside in the covered patio area out in the front of the restaurant. The entire street has been blocked from traffic permanently for several blocks, allowing for lots of outdoor patio access. Friendly and attentive staff who took our orders and handled our meals when they were ready. As for the food, our group ordered a variety of different dishes for brunch. Some highlights: 1. Sandwiches: delicious options. A few folks in our group ordered the Immigrant Son sandwich and the Chicken Parmgiana. 2. Chicken and Waffles: decent. It was boneless chicken that had been breaded and fried in beef tallow, then dusted heavily with Parmesan cheese. Not exactly what you'd expect for this dish, but it's their version so you can't really complain. 3. Omelettes: really well done! They have a few different versions that offer different flavors and fillings. You can't go wrong with any of the choices. 4. Coffee: excellent lattes! Highly recommend to check this place out.
After strolling down Main St, we happily ran into Immigrant Son Caffe. I had bookmarked it and it was clearly a popular choice on Main St. They have outdoor and indoor seating and we chose to sit outside to enjoy the weather. This spot closes at 2pm and has a great brunch/lunch Italian inspired menu. We chose the Tallow Fried Chicken and Waffles, which included Riccota and Rosemary Waffles, Parmesan Breaded Chicken, and Calabrian Chili Butter. The chicken was super crispy and tender and we loved the parmesan breading. We also tried the Avocado Pomodoro Toast. The tomato, garlic, and onion is a diced mix that I asked to have on the side. The generously topped avocado sourdough toast was topped with two perfectly cooked poached eggs and I topped it with the provided fresh basil and olive oil. Overall, great service and delicious food!
I went for the first time over the weekend. I did a quick yelp search and was intrigued by all the great reviews. It was a Saturday so it was really nice to have a walk from the beach through the middle of their town Square where they were having a farmers market. The restaurant wasn't too difficult to find, and the hostess set me pretty quickly in an area between the outdoor and inside seating, the menu was easy to understand all of the things that were listed seemed appealing. I tried the waffles and my child ate pasta. They also sell coffee beans and I grabbed a bag. I brewed some espresso when I got home the next day and it was really lovely.
Loved this place. Sat outside, got some sunshine, enjoyed a delicious meal. Food is fresh, well made, and comforting. Service was excellent. I had the Parisian omelette and the plate was so beautifully balanced with a slice of focaccia, avocado, and a side of fruit. So enjoyable. read more

This is my favorite breakfast in town! The classic Benedict is their best. We love the bacon flight and the deviled eggs. Ive had every breakfast item. One can't go wrong. They make great lattes. Both indoor and outdoor seating are comfortable. The staff is very pleasant. We will continue to return. read more
I've found my new happy place! We came in on a Saturday around noon and were surprisingly seated immediately. This location has a cute casual atmosphere. All of the staff are so nice and seem genuinely happy to be there. I ordered the carbonara and it was divine. That dish was made with love. Sooo delicious. The bread bowl was kinda like a pita but more firm. I also got a mimosa and an espresso martini. Their espresso martini was SOOO good, like top 10 I've ever had. It was my second time trying this place after I came here 2 years ago when I was on a trip. Let me say that it was just as good as the first time I tried it. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. It's a great spot to bring your family I really liked the benches they had outside. read more

Immigrant Son Café is next level 5+ stars! Wanted a special place for my niece's 21st birthday. Never expected the delicious food and service we found here. Both breakfast and lunch offerings were delicious. I've never had pasta served in a bread bowl and this one made you want to actually eat the whole bread bowl- Delicious! The Chilaquiles were authentic and spicy. The sauce was perfect and I am very picky about my Mexican food! Love the restaurant's ambience with an industrial modern vibe. The large area out front along Main Street is a great place to people watch and it fills up fast! Our amazing waiter Michael overheard us wishing our niece a happy birthday and made sure that he brought our table a special tiramisu dessert for her without our asking. Everything about this place is perfect, from the service to the food and to the location on wonderful Main St., Ventura . You simply can't go wrong and we will be back. One recommendation for the owners ... open for dinner with a dinner menu! Ventura could use another great dinner place and we absolutely would've come back for dinner if you had been open!! read more
Came with a group for brunch on Saturday. We got luck and sat quickly (it got busier after we were seated). We sat outside, they had umbrellas for sun cover. I wish I had gotten the waiter's name, he was fantastic. We ordered cocktails and appetizers. The whipped burrata was our favorite, closely followed by the bacon flight. I thought that was gimmicky but it was truly great. Main courses were also beautiful and delicious. I had the chicken parm which I would order again in a heart beat. Everyone loved their dishes. To keep it simple, it's the best brunch spot I've ever visited. I'm excited to return and try the Oxnard location as well. read more

Wow!! What a great place for brunch in downtown Ventura. Food - Excellent Service - Excellent Atmosphere - Excellent Location - Excellent As if downtown Ventura wasn't already a fun place to take a stroll, to do some shopping, to check out the entertainers, but this place is icing on the cake. There is a wide selection of places to eat, drink, and hang out, but Immigrant Son Caffe hits me different. We sat outside at a table with an umbrella on a beautiful sunny day. The inside is nice and welcoming with Italian decor and staff running around to take care of guests. Every single one with a smile :) Onto the food....I am not an egg person! The food cannot taste like egg, which in my case the Aunt Anna that I ordered did not, and was superb!!! [ eggs benedict with roasted tomato, baby spinach, & basil pesto ] My hopes were that the basil pesto would cover the 'egg' flavor, which it did and then some! 5 ***** There are many other items I want try and will definitely be back! Background On Visit: Originally, we were planning to go to Finney Crafthouse for lunch, but a small business owner from Fiddle and Fern told us that there was a great breakfast place that we had to try out and so we DID! Restroom: One restroom stall towards the back of the restaurant Credit Card: They do accept credit cards. Location/Parking: Located in between N. California St. and N. Chestnut St.. Parking can be found in neighboring streets. They also have have meter parking. Just remember that they block off parts of Main St.. Stayed at Best Western so the the walk to this place wasn't far and didn't have to stress about finding parking. Ambiance/Decor: Pretty neat place. Had this pretty chill ambiance that matched the beach town. From the outside, the restaurant looks small, but when you go further inside it's spacious. Modern furnishings and neat decor through out the restaurant. Service: The hostess was very nice and attentive. She greeted us and surveyed inside and the outdoor patio to see how long the wait would be. We didn't have to wait long to get a table. The staffer that took our order forgot to put a order in. He was apologetic and told us that it was a misunderstanding. Even though, the order wasn't placed in the first place, we did order it towards the end of our meal. Food For Thought: 1) Poblano Omelet: Omelet was very good. It consisted of pulled chicken, poblano, and mozzarella cheese. It also came with a side of breakfast potatoes, fruit, and your choice of toast. The breakfast potatoes were over seasoned and tasted very salty to me. I'll ask them next time if it's possible to have them unsalted. 2) Breakfast Lasagna: The main STAR of the meal! My goodness! It's was soo goooood! It was worth the wait and would love to eat it again. Plus, I really LOVE lasagna! :) 3) Tiramisu: Very enjoyable. I definitely think this place has better tiramisu than Pasta Sisters! Did you ever go somewhere the food looked better than it tasted? I was very disappointed. I should have had my daughter made her BOMB blueberry pancakes. And my wife's fried potatoes and save my daughter $90 (Yes, my youngest daughter paid, she never pays so I jumped at the opportunity)! I had the pancakes with only strawberries and potatoes. Service was ok, felt rushed. NOPE, won't be going back to this place. I will say they have a kick ass looking expresso machine but I don't drink coffee. Oh by the way they have water in this very nice looking bottle but it tasted like it was ref illed with tap water-gross.she read more
Went for brunch and this place was such a great treat. Food was amazing, restaurant is such a cute quaint place, and the people were awesome. Dog friendly also with our puppy! We had the avocado toast and strawberry salad that was on their special menu. Recommend it all. The strawberry salad with heirloom tomatoes and mint was an amazing fresh summery flavor! At the end they also give you Nonna's cookie. Love this place and recommend it 100%! read more
There is always a line for a reason! The food was delicious. There's always staff walking around for your needs. We went Mother's Day and they were pumping out dishes. Everyone had a good time! When we offer to take our CA family out for a meal, they choose Immigrant Son Caffe in downtown Ventura. There's a reason for that! It's wonderful. Delicious food--they're partial to the brunch for breakfast lasagna and strawberry buttermilk pancakes, with a flight of honey sesame bacon. And of course there're Benedict's, omelettes and other traditional fare. Our granddaughter devours the fresh OJ. And there are favorite coffee and espresso drinks. Alessandro knows his biz and manages his eatery hands on, confident in his friendly, efficient staff, like Cindy, a hostess making everyone feel welcome, and Faith, who has a high chair and table for 5 on the sunny outer area set up in a flash. As I said, the food was memorable, and there was plenty of it. It's a mostly Italian cuisine with American comfort food offerings. We'll be back. read more

We stopped for a quick bit to eat, and will 100% be going back. The customer service was very good and helpful. The environmental was so comfortable and seating was great. I recommend getting a booth seat on colder days! But with sunny days definitely sit out doors! Overall 10/10. read more

The coffee was smooth and came with free refills, which was a nice touch. Staff were friendly and the service felt warm without being pushy. A friend suggested going here for brunch and I was excited to come here since I've heard such great things! I instantly loved the ambience and loved the outdoor patio and indoor seating areas. We ordered a pumpkin spice latte which was tasty and had a perfect amount of sweetness to it. I loved the pumpkin spice topping too. The bacon flight was pretty, but the taste was off on every one I tried. They tasted old and low quality. The texture was good and crispy, but the flavor wasn't good. The prosciutto eggs benedict wasn't very good either. The temperature of it was room temperature and the bread was very lightly toasted and not enough for my liking. The poached egg was undercooked and almost inedible. The hollandaise sauce was average, but nothing great. The potatoes with onions and red peppers were quite yummy though. Our service was good and our server checked up on us regularly and was sweet. Overall, the service and ambiance were great. I enjoyed the coffee too, but don't know if I would return for food. read more

I can't say enough good things about my experience at Immigrant Son Cafe. I stopped by during the week and had an incredible dining experience. The staff was so warm and friendly and the manager stopped by to greet us and ask us about our food, we appreciate the special touch of friendliness. It was so hard to choose which dish to order but I went with the breakfast lasagna which was delicious, the red sauce is fantastic!! read more
