SERVICE: I appreciated the cheese samples once seated. There's a deli in the back to buy blocks of cheese or spreads. Nextdoor also carries a lovely room of some great wines. The employees were kind, place was clean, there's in and outdoor seating, and parking is what you make of it as PP is located on a blocked off street where cars are not permitted. All to say, research where you wish to walk about, find a meter or free parking lot - enough around, and put on your good yet cute walking shoes because you'll enjoy strolling about after your meal here - or drink. FOOD: I sooo loved my grill cheese. Instead of mushrooms I swapped for spinach - you're welcome. AND THE PICKLE ON THE SIDE - delish! So why 4 and not 5? Because of my limited lifestyle I found the menu a bit limiting. However, I am not a HUGE cheese person and I don't drink. Was craving a charcuterie board for brunch and found this cute spot on Main Street. They didn't open until 11am so I spent some time window shopping with my boyfriend to pass the time. It was a nice day so we sat on their patio and ordered the cheese board with added meat and the avocado toast. When it arrived we asked if they had any hot sauces and they offered their habanero sauce. The waitress said the board was big enough for 2. It had a great variety, the olives have pits which were awkward to eat. But everything tasted delicious, the dried fruit and nuts were a nice touch. The avocado toast also had pumpkin seeds under the sprouts. The habanero sauce was a bit too vinegary for me and didn't offer much heat. We'll have to return for their brunch menu which they switch up. This is a cute place to catch up with friends and enjoy a warm summer day. read more

My go to spot for a lunch date. Took a friend because I knew she would love it. Surprisingly she had never been. Sara & our waitress were amazing. The food hits every time. Love the sprouts they put on lots of dishes & vegan options. I would have just ordered veggies & hummus instead of adding the pita bread. That was a lil confusing. Stopped in on a Sunday to grab some coffee beans. They sell Beacon coffee beans which is awesome. They have a variety of items. Staff is nice and attentive. Shop is kept neat and organized. The sandwiches here were just as good as I had heard and definitely a strong part of the menu. I think all the flavors are done very well and I'll come back for the food 100%. The Ono Melt was delicious. The location is adorable and the vibe is so Ventura with the mission in the background and a cute patio area with people walking by. I normally am extremely lenient with service, but in a place like this where the servers are expected to be a little bit more attentive, I was slightly disappointed by the unfriendly nature of our server. The hostess was very nice and the other servers seemed to be as well, but our server wasn't friendly and barely spoke. My mom and I wernt complaining or anything, and the restaurant wasn't incredibly busy, so I'm not sure what the issue was. I dropped in after the farmers market for a quick lunch. What a fun visit! Food - Grilled tomino cheese toast. What a lunch treat! The most melt in your mouth Tomino cheese. On a toasted and buttery baguette. The bartender recommended getting it with the prosciutto wrapped around it. So i just smeared the cheese, prosciutto and bits of the marinated cippolini onions. The walnuts and grapes add a nice balance. I had this and the lemonade from Apricot Lane Farms. Soooo good. All in all i want to go back for more, what i loved most is that I could get the cheese and prosciutto just a few steps away. In the small market the restaurant is attached to. After a long wait to go because for one reason or another the times were never right we finally went to the paradise pantry for lunch. Good selection of yummy sandwiches with a definitely refined twist in both presentation and taste. You'll find enough cheeses to dig yourself into for appetizers and also/or just walk next door (same place) and you'll really see plenty to choose from and take home. A lot of different wines to taste or buy next door. The outside patio is nice and well taken care of but the inside room too is very well kept and quaint I haven't tried the happy hour yet but.. soon to come read more

Can we give it up to the main character...milk and honey! The bread was toasted to perfection, and still soft on the inside. The Brie cheese was nice and creamy. This is a dish you'd come back for again and again. The waitresses were all friendly, and the ambiance was perfect. It's so cool to have a cheese shop in the area. The staff is really friendly and helpful with recommendations. I love that this shop has more than cheese, it has wine, nuts, crackers, trinkets, lots of options for gifts. Lunchtime on a Tuesday and the outside patio is full as is most of the inside. I'm just happy there's no line. We were able to get a table for two against the wall, perfect. We ordered a glass of orange wine (yes, there is such a thing) and a mimosa (grapefruit and orange juices). Both are very good. I also ordered one of the chef's specialties, a vegan mushroom and pistachio topped with fig and served with crostini. Delicious! My lunch is a cup of the special of the day soup, potato leek with duck, and half of a grilled turkey pesto cheddar. RRR ordered a pastrami sandwich and a cup of spicy fish soup which he says is truly spicy. Man, are the soups fantastic! The sandwiches are very good as well but are huge. I can't imagine a full sandwich-whew! We finished with one chocolate pot au creme (choice of chocolate or butterscotch!) and it is heaven. It's served with an amazing whipped cream and fresh berries. We brought our kid here today for their birthday since they've been wanting to come here for a long time. We explained to the waiter that we needed our meal kosher, and there was pork in our eggs.. they tried to argue that it was Mushrooms instead of apologizing for their mistake..They brought it back to the kitchen to confirm that yes it was pork. The only thing they did was say that the kitchen apologizes for their mistake. We spent around $400 on expensive meat, cheeses, and brunch. They didn't offer to make it right by getting us our brunch with no pork or taking some money off the bill for their mistake.. it was a disappointing experience for a local family to be treated so poorly. read more

This is easily one of the best places spots to eat in Ventura. We came on a Sunday around 11 and were seated immediately (however its was probably one of the lady free tables) Kombucha - bomb. Based in Ojai Breakfast grilled cheese with pork belly- bomb af Breakfast sandwich with pork belly- possibly the best sandwich of my life. Side of mushrooms - I hate mushrooms with a passion (mental block), however I actually liked these Pickles- who reviews pickles? Well these are like magic pickles. My brain could not process - how can pickles be this good??????????? They have the most perfectly cooked pork belly. All the ingredients are fresh, and the sandwiches were HUGE! Staff is very kind and bubbly. It's a little noisy but it ads to the casual atmosphere. It's connected to their wine, cheese, and candle shop. The candles are expensive but worth it. Please know that each plate is very filling so order more sides with care. My pantry McMuffin (i could be wrong about this name) was fantastic! So many flavors that combined so well for one delicious breakfast sandwich. The potatoes on the side were cooked perfectly! Also the side of hot pickles was a pleasant surprise. Artisan crafted sandwiches, wonderful staff and a cafe style ambience makes this restaurant an amazing experience. We stumbled across this busy restaurant by accident during the Ventura Art Walk weekend. The full-sized sandwiches are very filling and there was a friendly woman going around providing samples of their goat cheese. The customers were also friendly like a woman we spoke to who travels from Santa Barbara to visit regularly. They have a great selection of desserts and wine as well. I have been to PP several times for lunch and always had a great experience (their grilled cheese is amazing). Tonight, I went for dinner for the first time. We got their vegetable soup, porchini pasta with pork belly and the polenta with mushrooms. All were tasty but over seasoned. I couldn't finish the soup because it tasted like vinegar - so strong. The pasta was fabulous but way tooooo much salt (and I like salt). The polenta was inedible due to the amount of salt. I was very disappointed because this is a go to for lunch. The banana bread pudding was very good and we got a fabulous burgundy from their wine store next door to enjoy with dinner. Service, as always, was superb. read more
