First time here. We had great service & yummy food! We ended up getting too full to try dessert but the coffee s'mores sounded intriguing so will definitely be back soon.

The sandwiches here were just as good as I had heard and definitely a strong part of the menu. I think all the flavors are done very well and I'll come back for the food 100%. The Ono Melt was delicious. The location is adorable and the vibe is so Ventura with the mission in the background and a cute patio area with people walking by. I normally am extremely lenient with service, but in a place like this where the servers are expected to be a little bit more attentive, I was slightly disappointed by the unfriendly nature of our server. The hostess was very nice and the other servers seemed to be as well, but our server wasn't friendly and barely spoke. My mom and I wernt complaining or anything, and the restaurant wasn't incredibly busy, so I'm not sure what the issue was. I'll still come back because everything else was that good, just hoping service was a one time thing.

I dropped in after the farmers market for a quick lunch. What a fun visit! Food - Grilled tomino cheese toast. What a lunch treat! The most melt in your mouth Tomino cheese. On a toasted and buttery baguette. The bartender recommended getting it with the prosciutto wrapped around it. So i just smeared the cheese, prosciutto and bits of the marinated cippolini onions. The walnuts and grapes add a nice balance. I had this and the lemonade from Apricot Lane Farms. Soooo good. All in all i want to go back for more, what i loved most is that I could get the cheese and prosciutto just a few steps away. In the small market the restaurant is attached to. Cant wait to go back!

Cute spot in Ventura with yummy food and lots of drinks! Non alcoholic and wines included! Food was delicious! We got the pastrami sandwich, Mac and cheese, and the mushroom omelette. Left us satisfied! The sandwich is a nice big portion which can be shared or take home for leftovers! Mac and cheese was delicious and the mushroom omelette did not disappoint! Absolutely enjoyed it there and great staff!

Can we give it up to the main character...milk and honey! The bread was toasted to perfection, and still soft on the inside. The Brie cheese was nice and creamy. This is a dish you'd come back for again and again. The waitresses were all friendly, and the ambiance was perfect. I will definitely be back to try other menu items and of course the milk and honey.

Lunchtime on a Tuesday and the outside patio is full as is most of the inside. I'm just happy there's no line. We were able to get a table for two against the wall, perfect. We ordered a glass of orange wine (yes, there is such a thing) and a mimosa (grapefruit and orange juices). Both are very good. I also ordered one of the chef's specialties, a vegan mushroom and pistachio topped with fig and served with crostini. Delicious! My lunch is a cup of the special of the day soup, potato leek with duck, and half of a grilled turkey pesto cheddar. RRR ordered a pastrami sandwich and a cup of spicy fish soup which he says is truly spicy. Man, are the soups fantastic! The sandwiches are very good as well but are huge. I can't imagine a full sandwich-whew! We finished with one chocolate pot au creme (choice of chocolate or butterscotch!) and it is heaven. It's served with an amazing whipped cream and fresh berries. Oh my! If you only get one thing, get this. Imaginative chef in a casual setting, this is a must for foodies.

This is my favorite local restaurant. I was out of town for work travel the last couple of days. It was so nice to take my husband here for a quick light meal. I ordered the wine flight, cheese and honey with grilled ciabatta, and the haze salad to share. We finished with a pot of butterscotch for dessert. Every bite was delicious! The owner/s is so dedicated and the restaurant is so consistent and authentic. I love them/it.

Love!!!! So good and high quality ingredients. Everything they use is FRESH. I got the killer Mac of the week and wow so tasty! It had whole pieces of garlic which I love. We also got a salad (forgot the name unfortunately) and it had peaches and strawberries. I loved everything about this lunch. It was a little pricey but fully worth it

The food was amazing. I rarely just order a salad but the roasted beet cob is everything and more. The server was very kind (mia). The food did take a bit long and it was just salads but the waitress and food made up for it.

Enjoyed the vegan sandwich. Took it to go and eat in the park. It didn't get soggy. 1/2 was enough. Added aoli sauce (non-vegan of course)

There was no one there but my friends and I, and we had to keep pausing our conversation to go back inside to get our wine. And then we would lose track of where we were in the conversation. I wished we had like a flight so we could drink and not have to keep getting up. We all really enjoyed the cheeseboard with our wine. Some of the cheeses were delicious. I loved the pepperjam. In Ventura's industrial area, the Cave is a nice, cozy restaurant that is hidden in the Ventura Wine Company shop. We were greeted by live music which made a lively atmosphere. They have the self vending wine machine with a decent variety of wines for all. I'm going to be honest - I did question the pour size. We ended up buying a bottle of wine at dinner instead and I'm pretty sure that was the economical choice plus it gave me peace of mind. I will say - the plating of the food is strange. Giant plates for small portions never really sits well with me. The kitchen's "thinly sliced" waygu steak was also off putting visually. The Jumbo Scallops w/Leek & Truffle Risotto ($46) is a must order. Scallops perfectly pan seared and that risotto I would eat by itself. The Lemon Chardonnay sauce was incredible. The Slow Braised Beef Short Ribs ($39) was okay. The meat fell apart as it should. The red wine sauce was okay but lacked depth. The creamy mashed potatoes were very good and seasoned perfectly. Wasn't mad that I tried it but would not order again. Wagyu Top Sirloin 12 oz. ($48) was very good despite the poor slicing. The creamy mushroom sauce was perfect to add some flavor but not overpower the protein. The Pepperoni Pizza ($18) was decent for my son. My daughter planned to order the Seafood Pasta until she saw all of her favorite things combined: Mac and cheese, bacon and pizza - the Mac and Cheese Pizza ($21) was honestly top notch. It wasn't overly heavy, the depth of flavor was great and it's extremely tasty. The spicy aioli was top notch. Overall, a good experience at the Cave. I recommend giving it a try.

On a Thursday night it was pretty dead but we didn't mind, WE ARE the party! The restaurant/ bar is surprisingly spacious which wasn't outright apparent from the outside. Once you walk in there is a nice long bar on the right hand side. A couple of booths and plenty of tables. It was actually a lovely evening (plus our group gets loud & rowdy) so we decided to sit outside on the high top patio table. It was perfect as it could fit the seven of us no problem. Initially i worried how service would be as we were alone on the patio but immediately my concerns went away as we had a fabulous bartender named Jordan helping us out. Despite making the drinks inside and engaging with customers at the bar, he was very attentive to our outside patio group. The drinks were brought out at an impressive pace and we felt valued as customers. Jordan gave great suggestions for shooters for us to try and also was overly accommodating, by allowing us to all pay separate/individual checks per our request. I grow to appreciate that more nowadays because some businesses do give patrons a hard time about splitting tabs. I was grateful despite being a big group he was willing to accommodate us. We only came for drinks, so I can't speak for the food but this spot is a solid bar. They have some interesting cocktails and I liked that they had a couple of shooter/shot options. Good selection of beer and even some wines. I really enjoyed both my Mexican candy shot and the purple heater shot that Jordan recommended for me and a friend. Drinks were cold and they kept flowing. Easy to give this spot 5 stars as the service was good, atmosphere was welcoming, and reasonable prices for being on Main Street. I'd definitely come back and would be happy to try some appetizers next time to see how the food is. My only baby upgrade is that the patio cushions on the chairs need a good wash or to be replaced. Otherwise everything else was clean from the tables, to the bar area, to the restrooms etc. The patio just needs a tiny bit of TLC which a couple of us noted. We had a great experience here though and I'm glad we stumbled upon this spot.

It's a quaint, boutique winery and tasting room, which recently joined forces with the folks from Trois le Fou Winery. They each have their own tasting rooms, but they're joined and share a large production/barrel room area, which is also available for private events in addition to scheduled events and live music/comedy. They don't offer food, but you are welcome to bring in your own snacks/charcuterie. Parking is plentiful, as the business park is mostly closed on the weekends. WINES: Their wines change regularly, as they purchase their fruit from Paso Robles, Lodi, and San Antonio Valley, among other places. I think that their Sauvignon Blanc is a standard and we really enjoy it, but they also do a nice Sangiovese, Zinfandel, Malbec, Syrah, Petite Sirah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Their "Speakeasy Wine Club" offers three levels of membership: "Blind Grape (6/yr)", "Bootlegger (12/yr)", and "Last Call (18/yr)", depending on the number of bottles you want per shipment/pick-up. Bottles currently run in the $38 - $50 range (before club member discounts). We love visiting the Lester Cellars family and highly recommend you stop in and check out their latest vintages.
