Always amazing food and service. Sat outside for a Friday morning birthday brunch and it was perfect. Each dish was a must so come hungry!
Always a yummy filling meal at Immigrant Son. Stopped in on our way back from a great weekend in the "American Riviera" enjoyed a refreshing iced latte with the blueberry yogurt parfait sans bananas. Hubs enjoyed the monster-sized chicken parm sandwich with the side Caffé salad. Service is always spot on!
Great brunch spot in Ventura with a great outdoor patio. Having brunch here was like being invited into a chef's home. Food came out quickly and their staff was kind enough to bring out a birthday dessert when they overheard us wishing someone in our party a happy birthday. The Caffé burger was dangerously good with a double patty. the panini wasn't pressed the way I think of with paninis but very generous with their burrata-yum! Must come back to try their breakfast lasagna!
Great food, nice ambiance, and very friendly staff. Everything came together for a really enjoyable experience. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something a little different. Would gladly come back!
A few weeks ago, my husband and I enjoyed a Saturday brunch at the Ventura location on our drive up to Paso Robles from Pasadena. At 9:30AM there was already a line with about 5 parties ahead of us. We only waited for about 20 minutes and we were able to sit al fresco to enjoy the sun & people watching. I ordered a Cortado with Oat milk for my espresso kick and my husband enjoyed the Tuscan Sunrise juice from the seasonal menu (fresh pineapple, orange, carrot, ginger, lemon and tumeric) that was refreshing and restoring. I loved their signature Breakfast Lasagna, which was fully stacked and hearty - layers of bacon, bechamel, prosciutto cotto, spinach, eggs, and mozzarella, all smothered in marinara and topped with a fried egg. It's more than filling and great to share with someone who ordered brunch entree on the sweet side like pancakes or Belgium waffles. My husband had the Chicken Avocado Bacon Panini with Swiss & cheddar cheeses, butter lettuce, garlic aioli and caramelized onions. He asked to omit the roma tomatoes. I had a bite and it was yummy...great for a lunchy entree. We finished the meal with another season menu item, the Pistachio Ricotta Cake. I could have ordered two...not to share, just for me. It was really good and I hope they keep it to their standard menu. The service was at a slower pace, but the server did check on us periodically. We'd definitely come back as we pass through and look forward to enjoying more brunchy Italian fare.
This place is great and lived up to the hype Sat on the patio under the shade and JT was wonderful. I love patio seating. Our server was great and attentive. I ordered the chicken panini. Friend ordered the caprese panini. We loved the flavors but it wasn't on a panini... it came on a baguette which was disappointing. Other friend got the eggs Benedict and loved it. We got an appetizer that I can't remember the name... it was shaved tomato ice over burrata cheese with focaccia bread. I loved it. It was so unique! Definitely would come back.
Our first time at Immigrant Son, and it was okay. Keep in mind, we got there a half hour before close, so there were some things that were not available and others that didnt seem super fresh. I think if you get there earlier, those 3 stars would be 4 or 5. The food was above average, but not roll your eyes in the back of your head awesome. The juices were exceptional. The service is the highlight here. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable about everything on the menu, and attentive without being a bother. There are tons of places to eat and drink on the Vemtura ped mall, and Immagrant Son is a sure bet, it just won't be the best meal you'll ever have in Ventura--Lure and Paradise Pantry are the front runners for that.
My companion and I ended up at Immigrant Son Caffe for breakfast after a weekend jaunt to Ventura. She got a the Giovanni omelette. It was flavorful and delicious. I got the Caffe breakfast. We both started with a drip coffee which was very flavorful. I think the omelette was probably better than the breakfast special, although the breakfast special was basic. The potatoes were very soft- more like a boiled potato than a breakfast potato. Also, they were overseasoned. There was what I imagine to be a homemade strawberry jam that went with the toast, it was fabulous. The service was decent, considering how busy the morning was and they were more attentive than other places we had been to in Ventura this weekend. With our check. We got two of Nonna's pizzelles-it was a nice touch. I think if I were to go again, I would try something off of the lunch menu.
We tried Immigrant Son Caffe for the first time on 02/14/2026 for brunch, arriving at about 9:45AM. Parking is so easy via the free municipal lot behind the restaurant. There was a short line at 9:45am; however, we were seated pretty quickly. We sat outside on the street facing tables, and it was a beautiful morning. I had the Chicken Avocado Bacon Panini, which was delicious with ingredients as the name applies; however, it also had swiss, cheddar, lettuce and some aioli. It does also come with tomatoes; however, I opted out of that. I also had a fresh pressed juice; however, I forget the exact ingredients. It was a little ginger heavy for me; however, still delicious. It was also reasonably priced for fresh juice. My Husband had the breakfast lasagna, and I got to enjoy a bite of that, and it was also great. All in all, a 5 star experience.
Such a great breakfast spot. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and has that perfect buzz where you feel relaxed but still part of something fun. There was a short wait, but it was absolutely worth it. The service was fantastic. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was just right. The staff communicates well and you can feel that they genuinely care about the experience. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Every bite was flavorful. We even ended up chatting with another couple nearby, which made the whole morning feel even more special and community-driven. Great energy, great food, great service. We'll definitely be back.
Excellent restaurant in the heart of the main street in downtown Ventura. We were a large party of 14 and were seated outside in the covered patio area out in the front of the restaurant. The entire street has been blocked from traffic permanently for several blocks, allowing for lots of outdoor patio access. Friendly and attentive staff who took our orders and handled our meals when they were ready. As for the food, our group ordered a variety of different dishes for brunch. Some highlights: 1. Sandwiches: delicious options. A few folks in our group ordered the Immigrant Son sandwich and the Chicken Parmgiana. 2. Chicken and Waffles: decent. It was boneless chicken that had been breaded and fried in beef tallow, then dusted heavily with Parmesan cheese. Not exactly what you'd expect for this dish, but it's their version so you can't really complain. 3. Omelettes: really well done! They have a few different versions that offer different flavors and fillings. You can't go wrong with any of the choices. 4. Coffee: excellent lattes! Highly recommend to check this place out.
After strolling down Main St, we happily ran into Immigrant Son Caffe. I had bookmarked it and it was clearly a popular choice on Main St. They have outdoor and indoor seating and we chose to sit outside to enjoy the weather. This spot closes at 2pm and has a great brunch/lunch Italian inspired menu. We chose the Tallow Fried Chicken and Waffles, which included Riccota and Rosemary Waffles, Parmesan Breaded Chicken, and Calabrian Chili Butter. The chicken was super crispy and tender and we loved the parmesan breading. We also tried the Avocado Pomodoro Toast. The tomato, garlic, and onion is a diced mix that I asked to have on the side. The generously topped avocado sourdough toast was topped with two perfectly cooked poached eggs and I topped it with the provided fresh basil and olive oil. Overall, great service and delicious food!
I heard great things about this place and decided to check them out. I'm glad we did because they definitely lived up to the hype. The entire visit was excellent. The staff are very kind, the place is super clean with indoor and outdoor seating, and the food is excellent. I had the breakfast lasagna. I was impressed, lots of flavor and I've never had snoring like it before. I can't wait to come back and explore the menu. read more

I can't say enough good things about my experience at Immigrant Son Cafe. I stopped by during the week and had an incredible dining experience. The staff was so warm and friendly and the manager stopped by to greet us and ask us about our food, we appreciate the special touch of friendliness. It was so hard to choose which dish to order but I went with the breakfast lasagna which was delicious, the red sauce is fantastic!! read more

Probably my favorite breakfast spot in Ventura. Indoor seating, outdoor seating, both work just fine! Sometimes there's a line but service is always prompt. I always order the same thing because I love it so much much, the giovanni omelette- add mushrooms. You can't go wrong. I've also tried the breakfast lasagna, breakfast carbonara, deviled eggs, bacon flight, pretty much made my way through most of the menu- nothing disappoints! Their desserts are also delicious! I love this cafe because I love the good vibe that this cafe has. All staff are always nice and friendly. The service is amazing. I had pasta, Rigatoni Giardino, and Flat White coffee, and my boyfriend had Chicken Parmigiana and Green Juice. The pasta was like soup pasta, had a very simple salty seasoning, and was in an edible bread bowl. The Green Juice was a very healthy smoothie. The Chicken Parmigiano was also good. Because everything was delicious, I will come back to try some dishes. After we paid, they gave us delicious cookies, which was nice. Dog friendly There is an outdoor seating. No parking, so we parked our car on the street. read more

When I saw how high up this place made it on Yelp's top brunch spots in 2024 I knew it was my sign to finally give this place a try. We came for brunch on a weekday holiday and it was quite busy but we were able to be seated without a wait. The host out front greeted us warmly, so already off to a great start! We ordered the breakfast lasagna and the immigrant son. The breakfast lasagna is definitely a hearty brunch item, but I happened to be starving that day. While it's just the eggs and bacon that really makes this a "breakfast" lasagna, the sauce really stood out. I didn't know marinara sauce could taste so good! The lasagna was just cheesy goodness. The Immigrant Son is a sandwich with prosciutto, pesto, and burrata. While it appears to be a very simple item, the ingredients are super fresh. I really loved how fragrant the pesto was. Prices are a little on the higher side, but I think it's because of the quality of the ingredients they use so it's worth the splurge. This place is located in downtown Ventura so if you're okay with walking you can probably find some free street parking. They even gave us a free cookie after our meal, which was such a sweet surprise! Our waitress was very attentive and this place overall has great vibes. read more

This cafe is bright and mellow. The service was great, Michael took care is us with a smile and made recommendations. The chicken and waffles is the perfect blend is sweet, salty, and spicy with the pepper butter. The Bacon Flight was delicious and perfect to share. The breakfast lasagna was flavorful and and an interesting way of combining a comfort food with breakfast. Great place to eat at, I'm looking forward to returning. read more

Come with me to Italy... by way of Ventura, CA! I was looking for a brunch spot in downtown Ventura and Immigrant Son Caffe had rave reviews (so much it was voted the 5th best brunch spot in the United States!). They're known for their breakfast lasagna, brunch cocktails, and rotating seasonal menu. I opted for the Italian Chopped Salad, Deviled Eggs, and Traditional Breakfast which was really good! One of the things I loved about this place is their portions. They were perfect (not too small or big) and there wasn't room for any leftovers. The vibe check passed with flying colors and I loved all the old school decor from Italy. Our waiter was extremely nice and attentive (go Keegan!). SAVE this restaurant for the next time you're driving up the coast and looking for a great spot to stop and enjoy some good food! read more

Wow! A highly deserving 5 stars for this place. I got a cortado and some OJ to start. I admit I'm a bit of an espresso snob and this was good!! OJ was fresh and tangy. My server was friendly and attentive as well. I got the ol basic scrambled eggs and bacon with fruit/toast and everything on the plate was excellent. Bacon was melt in your mouth crispy, eggs were perfectly cooked, and the sourdough toast! Thick and delicious the way you can only get in California. I have family coming to visit and will 100% bring them here for a breakfast/brunch. The menu has plenty of options where anyone can find something classic or unique as well as a full bar. When the weather is good, the patio is great to hang out and watch people enjoying main st. read more
We were eager to try this place as it's made the top 100 yelp brunch spots and we were in town. We had amazing timing and came around 10am - our group of five waited only a few minutes for a table but other groups weren't quite as lucky....there was a line from the hostess stand the whole time after we were seated. Our group got the bacon sampler, breakfast lasagna, lemon poppyseed pancakes, biscuits and gravy and the French omelet. I had really high hopes for the breakfast lasagna but the egg felt overcooked. Cool idea though! The pancakes were suuuuper sweet. The bacon sampler was lots of fun. Ambience was great outside but picnic tables are warped it's easy to spill drinks on the surface. There was a line but we were seated within minutes on a Sunday morning! Our server was great, knowledgeable, charming and constantly checked on us. The Bloody Mary and the espresso martini were delicious. The deviled eggs and the smoked salmon Benedict was good. The breakfast lasagna was a little dry and the bottom pasta layer chewy to get through but the concept was really good. We enjoyed the brunch, the ambiance and service and would recommend it to anyone looking for brunch in the charming downtown Ventura. read more
This charming spot is not only so cute but has the BEST customer service! My family loved dining here. We enjoyed all of our dishes and the beautiful and delicious lattes they served us. I ordered the veggie omelette and it was perfectly made with the freshest ingredients and skillet or roasted potatoes made just right- not oily and had a crisp exterior. We stopped here on our way home from the central coast and thought it was a super cute cafe. The food was good but didn't blow our minds with flavor. The meatballs were a little tough but had good flavor. Maybe we didn't order the right things. They give you a little pizzelle cookie to take with you which was a sweet touch. Service was good and the staff was very friendly. Location was central to all the downtown shopping which was nice. read more

Loved having brunch at Immigrant Son Caffe in the outdoor seating section in Ventura downtown street. I don't typically have pasta for brunch, but the morning carbonara was delicious and loaded with cheesy goodness. We finished the whole thing along with the bread bowl! Though it is nice to share, so I also tried the poblano omelette with pulled chicken. The omelette was a typical omelette, nothing to write home about. I did enjoy having the egg nog latte, a nice spot to have a coffee date and share a bowl of carbonara. I would also come back to try the breakfast lasagna since that seems like a popular item. Staff was welcoming since we arrived and thorough in explaining specials and the menu. Excellent service from our server Michael! read more

We are from Texas and camped here for a couple of days, and found Immigrant Son Caffe via Yelp (thank you, Yelp!) while wandering downtown Ventura on Saturday. We were craving Italian, and there are a few on Main Street, but the menu had us wanting to try them. We had probably passed it a couple of times because of all the umbrellas over the tables in front of their sign, so we retraced our steps to them before they closed at 2:00pm. And sooo glad we did! It was a gorgeous day so we sat outside, under one of many umbrellas, to people watch on Main St. And we could have ordered every dish that passed by. We decided on the Rigatoni Pesto and the Chicken Parmesan sandwich. The rigatoni was served in a hand-made bread bowl (see picture). We have never seen a handmade one before, and it was edible and delicious! The generous sandwich had a house-made marinara poured on the side, which you could dip your sandwich in. Also delicious. We tried their handmade cannoli, a plate of 3 different flavor fillings, also delicious. Do you see a pattern here? But to top it off, the waiter also gave each of us one of Nonna's pizzelles, a delicate and light waffle cookie, to take home. Such a nice, family touch- who does that these days?! We were so full from our meal we didn't eat them until the next day (after looking up what a pizzelle is..). And guess what? They were delicious. If you're in Ventura you gotta try this very Italian family restaurant! read more

I returned after a couple years and I am happy I did. The service is still A+ and the food/drinks were very good. Their coffee is like crack. I'm not sure what it is, but it's the best coffee I've found at a local restaurant. For breakfast I had a Bloody Mary and breakfast lasagna. Despite being a "double", the Bloody Mary still didn't provide any head change. But that's fine as my goal wasn't to get hammered at 11am. The breakfast lasagna was really good. Taste just like its name. Full of flavor and nice portion. Again, service was excellent l--we had Faith as our server. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and very attentive. Came here Saturday for breakfast with a party of 6. No wait to be seated outside. Service was EXCELLENT! I cannot speak highly enough of our sever, he was awesome. Food/drink wise- I had 1/2 an Italian cold cut sandwich, 1/2 chicken bacon sandwich, and a maple spiced iced latte. The Italian cold cut was delicious, all the ingredients were fresh and tasty. The chicken bacon was OK. The iced latte was also just ok. But I would definitely come back here and try something else. One restroom, street parking/parking garages/lots nearby. read more

I absolutely enjoyed my visit here. It was not super busy which was nice because I always see the packed lines on the weekends. I ordered the pancakes with strawberry, banana, and nutella. They were so delicious that I wish I had ordered some to go. They have seating inside and out on the patio. They offer lots of breakfast and lunch options. Stopped here on a road trip for my birthday and it was perfect! Our server Alvaro provided amazing service and was super nice. The food was also delicious. I got the eggs Benedict and my parents got their breakfast lasagna and special Italian bacon and egg sandwich. We also got some coffees. Couldn't recommend more! read more
We heard about Immigrant Son during a youtube looking for a brunch spot in Los Angeles. We recently spent a few days in Ojai and I was determined to go to Immigrant Son on the way back. It did not disappoint. We were greeted warmly by I believe a gentleman who is the owner and then our server was super attentive and made great suggestions. I'm sad I don't remember his name now. I had the breakfast lasagna which was tasty and a nice twist to lasagna and an omelette. My husband did the meatballs and they had so much flavor. Can't wait to try more when in the area again. read more

This place never disappoints! The service is great, the ambience is beautiful, and the food is amazing. They have really unique items on their menu and I've never had something I didn't like. They are also very accommodating to my gluten allergy, bringing me gluten free bread instead of the regular focaccia bread. Most recently I got the breakfast charcuterie and it was delicious. Big shoutout to our server Michael who was friendly, attentive, and even offered to let me sample the Bloody Mary mix to see if it'd be too spicy for me! Love this place. read more
I came here for breakfast/lunch and had a lovely experience. We arrived around 12:30 pm on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't too crowded. There were still some seats available inside and a short wait outside. The inside is bright and light. They have a nice outside seating area in front of the restaurant on Main Street. They have a wonderful selection of breakfast and lunch items to choose from - omelettes, eggs benedict, pasta, paninis, salads, as well as other specialties such as waffles, French toast, pancakes, and their breakfast lasagna. They also offer some signature cocktails. I chose the Giovanni omelette. My friends had the French omelette, eggs benedict, and a panini. We also ordered the cinnamon brioche French toast with caramelized bananas to share. Everything was delicious. My omelette was perfectly cooked. It was served with toast, potatoes, and fruit. Usually, you have to choose between potatoes or fruit. I like that I was given both. They also served a little tin of jam, tasted like strawberry, to spread on the toast. The French toast was amazing. The bananas were a great addition and added to the flavor. Everyone was so friendly and service was spot on. Our food came out quickly. We barely waited any time after ordering. This was my first visit, but my friends have visited several times. They say every time they come that it's amazing and everything they have eaten has been delicious. I can't wait to go back. I think my favorite part was the pizzelle they served at the end of the meal. It is made fresh and brought to the table hot in a little white bag. Wow! This place is wow! Food was excellent. Our waiter recommended the breakfast lasagna, and I'm glad I followed her rec. Each layer is just perfect. Hamm, egg, cheese, marinara sauce, fried egg. Steak & egg was also very tasty. Steak was cooked to perfection. Good chunk amount too. Dessert was yummy, and tastes house made. Staff was great. The only thing is that there's a long line if you come on the weekend near lunch time. So be prepared. We sat outside, but had the chance to look inside the restaurant. I love the decor inside, and pictures of the family owner shows the history of the restaurant. read more

I've been eyeing this place since they opened. There's always a line which normally means the food is spot on. My only regret is that I didn't come in previously! At my server's recommendation I had the Breakfast Lasagna. It was absolutely delicious and a unique item you probably can't find anywhere else. Service is top notch and food is over the top. Definitely worth waiting in line for. I'll definitely be back soon. Next up is the Giovanni omelette, again at my server's recommendation. Looking forward to my next visit.
