My son and I stopped at this open and delightful cafe where you order up front and then choose your table. For me being Celiac, I really liked the fact they had gluten free bread so I ordered the SMASHED AVOCADO TOAST with pickled vegelables, herbs, nut & seed dukkah GF, with smoked salmon. It was fresh and delicious. My son really enjoyed his sandwich and with a comfortable dining area, a totally enjoyable experience.

Frontside Cafe is such a gem in Ventura. Let's clear something up real quick: this is counter service. No one is coming to take your order at the table, and that's just how it works. Fresh food also takes time, especially during a busy weekend brunch. The food here is consistently so good. I love stopping in for their seasonal salads and fresh, housemade pastries. Everything feels thoughtful, intentional, and full of flavor. The Ojai Pixie Spritzer is a favorite of mine, especially on a warm day. The menu changes seasonally and they always have rotating weekly specials that are worth checking out. And if you ever see the lemon ricotta pancakes on the board, don't skip them. Light, bright, and exactly what brunch should be. Like I mentioned, weekends get busy, so expect a bit of a wait. Totally normal for a popular brunch spot. Coming early definitely helps if you want to grab a seat without waiting too long. Parking is available in the back, with additional street parking nearby. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and you can really feel the heart behind the place. The owners are very hands-on. The husband is the chef and the wife runs the front of house, which gives it that personal, community-driven feel that makes you want to keep coming back. Whether you're there for a full brunch or just a coffee and pastry, Frontside is always a solid choice. Fresh, local, and full of good energy.

I just had an insanely good breakfast at Frontside Cafe! The Brontë Bowl is full of fabulous yummy curry roasted mushrooms, cooling onions, etc... I went there while waiting for my oil change & it's a great place to eat & hang out! Love the boho, clean vibe! They close at 2 PM & have salads & sandwiches as well! I will be back there soon! Highly recommend!

My hubby and I have loved making this a weekly stop. I love the hot cocoa and Aussie breakfast. DO NOT leave without the trying those potatoes!!! They are buttery flavorful goodness! The staff is very kind which surprises me because I can't be up that early and be that happy HAHA But they are! The elegant atmosphere makes it that much better. It's a must go to when in Ventura. Remember! Don't forget the potatoes.

Had this place bookmarked for ages and it did not disappoint! Went back in Memorial Day weekend and didn't wait too long to be seated. This is a pay up front type of eatery. The service was good despite how busy it was. Even with a waitlist, street parking was fairly easy to find. The restaurant feels breezy thanks to its partially open structure. The interior looks aesthetically pleasing too. Their honey latte was very good, even better than one I got later in the day at a coffee shop. I didn't expect the brekkie roll to be filling but it was. Everything tasted great and the breeze coming from the beach made it even better. It was a delight to dine here and I'll definitely be back.

I finally made it to frontside cafe! This beautiful beachy brunch restaurant has been on my list for a long while now. I love everything about this place, the decor, the layout, the menu and the friendly staff. My friend and I wandered in for lunch and I'm happy that this spot is so popular. Definitely a busy loved local spot so plan ahead. We were lucky to get the only left corner table during a busy brunch/lunch rush. You order at the counter and then find yourself a seat. Service was friendly and all good vibes. The gal at the register was sweet and helpful as we asked questions about the menu. We also appreciated that even though we were paying separately she would put our order on the same number system to ensure our meals came out as close together as they could (which they did and that was wonderful). Even though this restaurant is only counter service even when they brought our food out to us they were nice, we had great service for a casual spot. I love their menu here. Simple but classic fun items. I also am dying to give their spritz a try next time. Appreciate the variety of their spritz cocktail options. Pricing is reasonable and again, really just love the vibe inside. My friend had the Katsu fried chicken sandwich which they loved. I was impressed with how generous the chicken portion was that I will definitely get that next time. I had an amazing granola bowl here. Love that they mix up their granola bowl with different seasonal fruits and toppings. My bowl had blackberries plus delicious yogurt, chia pudding and almond butter. A 10/10 breakfast dish and nice to find something I loved that was on the healthier side. Skip the peach iced tea though, just didn't taste like anything other than a plain iced tea. That's okay though because as I said above, definitely getting a spritz next time! All in all frontside cafe was a win and a solid A from us. Great for a casual lunch and I'm dying to come back when they do their cool dinner pop up menus, will be on the lookout for that.

My Husband and I went for breakfast. The food was Deelish and of high quality. Presentation was beautiful! I had a drip coffee and hubby had americano. Both were great. Service was very generous and friendly. We will definitely be returning customers.

Don't come here unless you never want to go anywhere else in Ventura for breakfast ever again and I'm so serious! Their food is so fresh, savory, delicious and doesn't make you feel gross or weighed down like a traditional American breakfast spot does. The Yogurt Bowl is my go to, homemade granola, fruit medley with mint, honey Greek style yogurt. YUM. When I'm feeling more savory the "Full Brekki" plate is the move. Eggs your way, thick slices of sourdough, we get the sausage patties, grilled tomato and homemade jams and ketchup?! Say less. They have an awesome selection of pastries and a top tier coffee program - you honestly can't go wrong. Service is so sweet and have always been more than accommodating for me and my toddler! Also, it's has the dreamiest coastal open air interior that's walking distance from the pier when you're done. If you've been here you know what I'm talking g about and if you haven't yet, what are you doing?

We stopped at this coffee shop on our drive from OC to Santa Barbara, in Ventura. It's an absolute gem! It's super cute inside and dog friendly on the patio. The kitchen has fantastic hot breakfasts and they bring it out to the table! Also, it looks like there's a wine bar in the evening. I wish it were closer to us as this would be our go to! So cute, so yummy, great vibes!

Really fresh and tasty for brunch!!! The fruit is amazing. I got the yogurt bowl and boyfriend got the açaí. Both very good. A little pricey but that's because it's trendy and good quality so definitely worth it. There's usually a line on the weekend but we came at 10am Sunday and only had to wait 15 minutes. Would love to come back and try lunch!

Food was worth the wait. Listen for your name to be called as you might miss it. Friday may be less crowded as we hit the Sunday brunch

I only recently learned from the cashier at a taco truck stationed outside of Ventura Coast Brewing that Poco Papanatas means "goofball". It was always a little strange too, because my ex doesn't speak Spanish, and she didn't start calling me that until after that friendly El Salvadoran guy installed our water heater. Ventura Coast Brewing is one of those places that she definitely would not have approved of. It's clean, spacious and there's a huge variety of beers that you can enjoy by the glass or in little tasters that allow for a broader flavor experience - from hazy IPAs, pilsners and stouts to pale ale and seltzers. Love it. They also have 'non-alcoholic hop water', which I imagine is either intended for children and teetotalers or a terrible inside joke that the fellas in the fermentation room thought hilarious. I realized as I was working on my third pale ale and second taco at Ventura Coast Brewing that I've missed out for years on wonderful breweries like this. I was going to call my ex-wife and explain how very wrong she was to think she's too fancy for brew culture, but she's still on vacation in El Salvador. I then thought of the other great many joys in life that I missed out on during our time together. When my ex and I first met she made me throw away my entire TV Guide collection. She hated literature and never trusted me. She once accused me of flirting with the instructor at our Salsa class - insisting that I was far too close to the instructor and my movements were too sensual and provocative. We got to keep the two jars of salsa that we made in class that day, but she unilaterally decided we didn't need to advance to guacamole. Now that I have the freedom to pursue the small joys in life, I will be returning to sit quietly with a beer or two amidst the social rumble of Ventura Coast Brewing to enjoy the years of hard work and craftsmanship curated and produced by the fine folks at Ventura Coast Brewing. Thank you Ventura Coast Brewing!
