Super cute place for a hangout or even just to come in and get some homework done. I came by on a Saturday morning for a little hangout with my friends, and as soon as you walk in, you're greeted by this small shop area with so many things--from candies to even wine you can grab. I picked up a couple of snacks before my friends got there: the dried freeze strawberry yogurt bites and the s'mores cups. Both were so good and had great macros for my healthy girlies. While I waited, I checked out the menu. They have a good amount of food options, and everything sounded amazing, but I already had my mind set on the full bowl. For my coffee, I wanted to stick to my usual order, but unfortunately they didn't have any sugar-free options, which was a little disappointing. I ended up getting the iced banana latte, and honestly, I was not mad at it was really good! The service was great , everyone is so helpful and so nice ! Overall, it's such a cute spot and definitely worth trying out.

First time here it's a cute set up of a Bodega. Very welcoming people. Bagel was delicious definitely recommend. Coffee and matcha were great! I will be coming back for more soon.

It's such a cute spot! I love the pops of colors and the music selection is amazing. And probably my favorite matcha ever!

Finally got a chance to check out Buena Bodega over the weekend. It was a busy Saturday morning! The cucumber feta toast was really delicious the first couple of bites. For my personal taste, it got a bit on the salty side as I kept eating it. Overall, really good but I think I'd ask for less spread for my liking. My husband tried the B. E. C. A. Bagel which was a solid breakfast bagel. We also got a croissant from their baked goods section and it was very good. Delightfully buttery and flaky. For our drinks, we got the banana latte, strawberry matcha, and cappuccino. We enjoyed all drinks. Their current milk alternatives are oat and pistachio. I didn't get a chance to check out the things they sell at the actual bodega section so I look forward to returning and checking that out. And getting some soft serve of course!

Our friend had such wonderful things to say about Buena Bodega, so we were so excited to come over and try their coffee. Love the vibe walking inside with a cute little coffee shop in the back. Was disappointed in their coffee. Coffee itself was alright, but the service was so incredibly slow. We were the only ones there, and it took over 20 minutes for them to make a cappuccino and a cortado. Decent selection of baked goods - really enjoyed our chocolate chip cookie - soft, flavorful, and the perfect amount of flaky salt. They have a good breakfast/lunch menu, but a bit pricey so I didn't try it. Did like their little shop - they had a nice selection of wines and foods. Would be interested in coming back to explore this further. Overall, wasn't the experience I was hoping for here. Don't think I'll be returning anytime soon.

Stopped in after hearing all the rage for this place and was hoping to see a New York style bodega where I can get a chopped cheese sando but was sad to say it was more coffee and toast type of vibe. The little market was awesome though with a fair amount of items I just had to have especially the flakey sea salt from Greece! We grabbed a latte to try and a soft serve that would rival your favorite soft serve, it was creamy with a perfect flavor of vanilla. Cool little spot near the high school and it has that HS vibe.

Soft opening this week at Buena Bodega which will be your new one-stop shop for wine, specialty groceries, and the cutest little merch. From the moment you walk in you're hit with an unreal selection of unique goods and foods, all wrapped up in a stunning, urban space you could honestly get lost in for hours. Head towards the back and you'll find an amazing café serving fresh coffee and lattes, loaded bagels, fancy toasts, and so much more. The staff were absolute gems and super nice people. For opening week, they already have things completely locked in. Off to a great start. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, you immediately feel like a local, which is such a feel good vibe. All my questions were answered with ease & everyone working here has smiling faces and seemed happy for the stellar turnout. What I ordered: I went with a classic iced vanilla latte (with the crunchy ice...if you know, you know), and it did not disappoint. My only upgrade is that I like my lattes sweet, so when ordering it with vanilla syrup, I did expect sweeter. It was mild in flavor. No biggie, might add an extra pump or two next time as the vanilla wasn't super pronounced but I'm sure for the regular latte drinkers out there, it's probably made to your taste. 4/5 stars. The real star of the show was the loaded lox chopped bagel. Hands down, the BEST bagel combo I've had in the 805!!!! No exaggeration, 1000% standing by this statement. Everything you love about a lox bagel is there, the fixings all chopped and mixed with cream cheese and put on your bagel of choice, so it's insanely easy to eat. Genius. I'm officially obsessed, and this should be your first order if you're even slightly on the fence. 5/5 stars! It was lovely to sit inside and eat. Very comfortable vibes and I loved the little tables in the cafe. Pricing might seem on the moderate to higher end, but this is a speciality store. I spent about $50 after ordering my loaded bagel, latte, danish, and one grocery item (plus tip of course). A splurge but this spot was well worth it to me. This spot is already a fan favorite in the making and a must try during their soft opening this week. Wishing the entire team so much success, you've got a loyal customer right here now.

I came during their soft opening and tried the bodega chopped bagel and the full bowl with chicken, both were 10/10! The cilantro dressing in the full bowl was amazing. All of the items sold in the store were cute, unique and looked delicious! They bottles of wine and it looks like they'll soon sell by the glass, can't wait for that! What a little GEM!

Stopped by Buena Bodega for their soft opening and absolutely loved it. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. Great ambiance, good vibes, natural lighting, and the music was on point. Tessa, the owner, introduced herself and was so kind and warm, which made the experience feel even more special. I even made some friends while sitting by the window area. It truly feels like a community hub, and I'm really looking forward to their future events. I ordered the bodega chopped bagel on everything and my usual iced vanilla latte (bonus points for the crushed ice). Both were delicious. This is such a great addition to the Midtown neighborhood. The space is spacious, has restrooms, WiFi (SNACKS1803), and a thoughtfully curated selection of local and specialty goods, plus beer and wine. It is perfect for families, students, people working remotely, or anyone grabbing a coffee and bite. There is also seating area outside for four-legged friends. I am a sucker for merch, and the branding does not disappoint. Anytime I see Comfort Colors, I know quality matters, and that means a lot to me. Parking was easy too, with their own spaces and plenty of nearby street parking. Can't wait to come back. Highly recommend. Current temporary hours are 8am to 2pm and closed on Mondays.

Buena Bodega is such a lovely addition to Ventura! It's such a cutie spot to visit. There's a grocery area with not your average grocery goodies! I bought an instant lentil soup & crouton snacks and they were both delicious! I tried finding it at other stores and online but they're not easy to get. Definitely a good reason to come back ;). Moving along into the shop, there's plenty of seating to catch up with a friend or do some work at. I ordered their strawberry matcha & it was delicious. I wanted to highlight the fact that you can taste the matcha, and it wasn't too milky. The owner asked for my opinion on what to improve on their drink. No improvements needed! It was perfect. But, I appreciate the effort they're taking! It's such a fun & funky cafe. Highly recommend.

This was my first time in. The shop had just opened. Looking around quickly they appear to have all your needs for pantry items and cute gift type items. Mental note for birthdays and holiday season. I came for the coffee and was not disappointed. I ordered their Iced Blackberry Latte. I went with pistachio milk as substitute for whole milk, gave a nice nutty touch and bonus has lower sugar than other substitute options. The latte itself with the maple cold foam is absolutely delicious. Barista suggested a straw to stir it all up and that was a great recommendation. Drinking through the straw I got a lot of blackberry seeds so switched to no straw. I will definitely be getting this drink again and trying more on their menu. Next time I may ask for less ice. I understand needing a good amount of ice for the espresso and overall temperature of the iced drink, just felt shorted a tiny bit since it was so delicious and the ratio of ice to drink was more ice. Food items sounded great just didn't have the time to spend this go around.

Coffee and snacks menu. Prices very reasonable.

Sometimes you walk into a business and feel like you've walked into a friend's house. That was the warmth I felt walking into Buena Bodega. The employees at the retail section greeted me when I entered and it was pretty crowded at the time. I meandered to the rear to the coffee bar. The front has retail items, clothing, dried goods and knick knacks for purchase. The coffee and food is in the back. I chatted with the friendly barista about superbowl Sunday. The test is the taste- ordered an iced latte. It was smooth and delicious. Prices are very reasonable. I will definitely be returning for the welcoming service, great coffee and likely delish food.

Adorable! When walking in the store it's really open and organized. They have tiny little carts kids can use. So so cute! The lady up front greeted me with a sweet kind welcome. I ordered the peanut butter and jelly and it was so cute how they spread everything on topped with heart bananas. I also ordered a vanilla latte and a toasted coconut latte and they tasted the same. Really strong coffee. So coffee lovers this will be your jam. But it was way too strong for me. I do want to try maybe iced? And a couple other food items and update.

Customer service was still great, but I noticed a few changes that took away from the experience for us personally. I do like that the tastings are no longer in the plastic tubes, although the tubes did feel like they held a little more wine. What we didn't enjoy was that when multiple people ordered the same tastings, they were placed into the same shared glass/container. In our party of four, three of us had the same six tastings and had to share. I appreciated the bow on the glass showing the pours, but I preferred the previous setup where everyone had their own individual tastings. It may seem small, and thankfully our group was fine sharing, but it made the experience feel less personal and honestly made us less interested in doing tastings again on future visits. Some people also may not feel comfortable sharing containers or touching the same glass. Nothing terrible at all, just some feedback from longtime visitors who loved how it used to be. On this visit we actually ended up ordering a bottle afterward instead, and moving forward we'll probably just continue doing that rather than the tastings.

I'm really glad he did because it's the kind of place I probably wouldn't have found on my own. The first thing that caught our attention was the self-serve wine dispensers lined with bottles ready to sample. We had a lot of fun walking back and forth, looking over the different selections, and deciding what to taste next. Being able to sample wines by the ounce before committing to a full glass made the whole experience feel interactive. I especially liked that I could compare different Cabernet Sauvignons side by side, which isn't something you get to do very often. After trying a few different Cabernets, Chimney Rock ended up being my favorite. The dining room added to the experience. The cave-like ceilings, warm lighting, and comfortably spaced tables made it easy to settle in, enjoy our lunch, and catch up without feeling cramped or rushed. If you enjoy trying different wines, it's easy to lose track of time here. We started with a cheese plate, which turned out to be much more generous than I expected. It came with a nice assortment of cheeses, crisp apple slices, grapes, candied walnuts, crostini, and a savory relish on the side. It was a great dish to share with our wine. My friend ordered the tuna poke tower, and we shared the cheese flatbread and sweet potato fries. I went with the Original Cave Salad with salmon, which came with a generous piece of perfectly cooked salmon over fresh greens, apples, grapes, walnuts, and blue cheese. Everything tasted fresh, and the portions were generous enough that we left completely satisfied. One thing I appreciated was that we never felt rushed. Lunch naturally turned into an afternoon of catching up, comparing notes on the different wines, and deciding which pours we wanted to try next. Before we left, we wandered through the wine shop one more time. If you discover a favorite during lunch, you can pick up a bottle before heading home, which is a nice touch. I'm really glad my friend found this place. The next time I'm in Ventura, it'll definitely be on my list again.

The day before, the owner Michele couldn't seem to find the paperwork where we discussed menu, family style, decor, budget etc. Thankfully, we went in the day before to double check everything. Not only were we met with a misogynistic retort to everything we talked about but he did not clarify any details that we later found out would be important. The day of the event, we accidentally hit a bottle of wine bringing in the decorations. Total accident! During the party, we had to constantly find our server (super nice guy but terrible service) to take drink orders, to take food orders, and to clear the table and bring to go boxes. Drinks weren't refilled. We cut and served the cake we brought. Then our bill comes and surprising to us, we were charged a room fee (which I confirmed they DID NOT have prior to booking), charged a cake fee (just for them to store it in their fridge and NEVER told there would be a fee for bringing a dessert, despite Michele asking the day before if we were bringing our own or using them for dessert), and he charged us $50 for the bottle we accidentally broke. With all these extra charges, in addition to already paying a deposit, we were way over the previously discussed budget. I never would have agreed to his idea of everyone ordering individual dishes instead of family style plus his outrageous extra fees had I know it was going to blow the budget. He had every opportunity to tell us there is a cake fee (never have I EVER had to pay a fee to bring a cake- even our server said he felt it was in poor taste to charge us for that). We refused to pay the room fee because we already put down a deposit and were never told there would be these extraneous charges! The terrible ending happened when I slipped and fell (8 months pregnant) in the front of the restaurant RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE OWNER, who stood over me as I was on the ground, and said "you must have slipped on the wine you spilled." Never offered concern, never offered to help me and never apologized. A staff member from the kitchen ran out to help me despite Michel being an arms length from me, looking down on me. Such a disgrace. My dress was dirtied from their floor and I was left with bruises on my knees the next day. No wet floor sign, clearly the floor wasn't cleaned up properly or dried. We will never patronize this restaurant again. What was meant to be a beautiful event turned into a calamity met with a chauvinist owner who lacks customer service and compassion.

Majestic Oak is my happy place. Seriously. The second I walk downstairs, I instantly relax. I don't know what it is... maybe it's the red umbrellas, the beautiful greenery, the cozy little patio, or just the overall atmosphere. I close my eyes for a second, take a deep breath, and it honestly feels like I've escaped into my own little world. I come here about once a month, and there's a reason I became a wine club member. Yes, the location is absolutely beautiful, but let's talk about the wine... every. single. one. has been amazing. I'm usually more of a red wine girl, but even their whites have surprised me. They're crisp, refreshing, and just plain delicious. I honestly haven't had a wine here that I didn't love. But what really keeps me coming back is the people. Rita deserves the biggest shout-out. It's not just that she takes amazing care of us every time we visit. It's her personality. Her knowledge. Her passion for the wines. She makes you feel like you've been friends forever, and somehow every visit feels even more special because she's there. She has this way of making everyone feel welcome, and that kind of hospitality is something you can't teach. For me, Majestic Oak isn't just somewhere to drink wine. It's where I go to slow down, breathe, laugh, and enjoy life for a little while. It has become my home away from home, and I honestly can't imagine a month going by without stopping in. If you're anywhere near Ojai, do yourself a favor and visit. Come for the wine... stay because you'll probably fall in love with everything else too. One last thing... we stopped by today, as usual, and Kristy took such incredible care of us! She was so welcoming, attentive, and made our visit just as memorable. It reminded me that the amazing service here isn't just one person; it's the culture. Every visit leaves us feeling like family, and that's something truly special. (Oh... and if you see Bruce, make sure you say hi! He's the sweetest little furball and just might steal your heart before your first sip of wine. ) Thank you, Majestic Oak, for creating a place that truly feels... Majestic.

On a Thursday night it was pretty dead but we didn't mind, WE ARE the party! The restaurant/ bar is surprisingly spacious which wasn't outright apparent from the outside. Once you walk in there is a nice long bar on the right hand side. A couple of booths and plenty of tables. It was actually a lovely evening (plus our group gets loud & rowdy) so we decided to sit outside on the high top patio table. It was perfect as it could fit the seven of us no problem. Initially i worried how service would be as we were alone on the patio but immediately my concerns went away as we had a fabulous bartender named Jordan helping us out. Despite making the drinks inside and engaging with customers at the bar, he was very attentive to our outside patio group. The drinks were brought out at an impressive pace and we felt valued as customers. Jordan gave great suggestions for shooters for us to try and also was overly accommodating, by allowing us to all pay separate/individual checks per our request. I grow to appreciate that more nowadays because some businesses do give patrons a hard time about splitting tabs. I was grateful despite being a big group he was willing to accommodate us. We only came for drinks, so I can't speak for the food but this spot is a solid bar. They have some interesting cocktails and I liked that they had a couple of shooter/shot options. Good selection of beer and even some wines. I really enjoyed both my Mexican candy shot and the purple heater shot that Jordan recommended for me and a friend. Drinks were cold and they kept flowing. Easy to give this spot 5 stars as the service was good, atmosphere was welcoming, and reasonable prices for being on Main Street. I'd definitely come back and would be happy to try some appetizers next time to see how the food is. My only baby upgrade is that the patio cushions on the chairs need a good wash or to be replaced. Otherwise everything else was clean from the tables, to the bar area, to the restrooms etc. The patio just needs a tiny bit of TLC which a couple of us noted. We had a great experience here though and I'm glad we stumbled upon this spot.

Fun place to hang with friends. This spot does need a bit of TLC…read more Service was great. Friendly staff! Did not taste the food but would be willing to come back. Very chill on a Thursday.. not busy.

Great time visiting here…read more Mike treats you like a local. Pours heavy. Tells you about every wine. The service is in point. The ambiance is super chill. Definitely will be back. The reds, whites, roses, and ports are on point. Bought a couple bottles. Can't wait to come back. Thanks Mike and team for a great time! I really love how they give you packaged bread sticks in between tastings. Nice touch!

Tasting: $15 (return flight $9, because sometimes one flight is not enough)…read more Wonderful wines and awesome customer service sum up what this family owned/operated winery is all about. Two sisters (Elissa & Holly) married two brothers (Matt & Mike) and started this weekend project which has turned into quite a fun weekend escape. Elissa and her father, Walt, are usually manning the tasting room and are the most gracious hosts. It's a quaint, boutique winery and tasting room, which recently joined forces with the folks from Trois le Fou Winery. They each have their own tasting rooms, but they're joined and share a large production/barrel room area, which is also available for private events in addition to scheduled events and live music/comedy. They don't offer food, but you are welcome to bring in your own snacks/charcuterie. Parking is plentiful, as the business park is mostly closed on the weekends. WINES: Their wines change regularly, as they purchase their fruit from Paso Robles, Lodi, and San Antonio Valley, among other places. I think that their Sauvignon Blanc is a standard and we really enjoy it, but they also do a nice Sangiovese, Zinfandel, Malbec, Syrah, Petite Sirah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Their "Speakeasy Wine Club" offers three levels of membership: "Blind Grape (6/yr)", "Bootlegger (12/yr)", and "Last Call (18/yr)", depending on the number of bottles you want per shipment/pick-up. Bottles currently run in the $38 - $50 range (before club member discounts). We love visiting the Lester Cellars family and highly recommend you stop in and check out their latest vintages. The service and wine are wonderful, and I'm betting you'll enjoy yourself as much as we do.
