lorus Combo
Alexa D.

I came in just a few minutes after they opened. Both gentlemen working the front of house greeted me warmly and treated me with kindness. They were accommodating, efficient, and made me feel very welcome. I ordered the Lorus Combo, which came with 2 eggs, hash browns, 3 strips of bacon, and 2 buttermilk pancakes. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the meal was delicious! I had a great breakfast experience with delicious food and excellent service. I'll definitely be coming back!

Early one morning, on our way back from Santa Barbara, our two-hour drive had definitely worked up an appetite. Luckily, while charging our vehicle, we stumbled upon this wonderful little café and what a great find it was. If you're stopping to charge, I highly recommend making it an early morning stop so you can enjoy breakfast here. The pancakes were delicious fluffy, buttery, and everything you want in a good stack of pancakes. I was happy, full, and completely satisfied... but I still had my eye on my hubby's breakfast burrito. Thankfully, he was willing to share . I'm so glad he did because it was every bit as delicious as it looked and made the perfect meal for the last 45 minutes of our drive home. Great food, fast and friendly atmosphere, and a pleasant surprise during our trip. Thank you, and we'll definitely be back very soon!

Have been here twice. Reviewing this time and it's average. We did come on a Sunday so of course busy. But found service to be nothing ordinary. Needed to get our waiters attention for anything. Asking for water and he had to mention to us he needs to delegate it to the water boy. Food was okay. Mozzarella sticks were hot and fresh. For a Sunday not too bad. Like the location being by the mall. There is a playground to wait at with kids near.

It's been quite a while since my last review of Loru's so it's time to up date. Came with my wife, adult daughter and her dog - so patio was a necessity. Our table was away from any cars so no car smell. They brought a bowl of water for the dog as soon as we were seated. Nice! Three of us shared the chicken fajita omelet ($20) and avocado toast ($14). The omelet was absolutely delicious! The omelet came with a side of macadamia pancakes. Two pancakes, stuffed with macadamia nuts and topped with bananas, whipped cream, and more macadamia nuts - one of the best pancakes I've had in a very long time and it was just a side dish for the terrific omelette. We got the avocado toast with a smoked salmon. (additional $7). Also excellent and that came with curly fries on the side, which were also extremely well done. Excellent service (thank you, Harriet), terrific food at a fair price, and delightful ambience on the patio. Terrific place for Sunday brunch.

Came here to get a quick bite for breakfast and it did not disappoint. My husband and I shared the chile relleno omelette and it was so flavorful, nothing like we've ever had before. Service was friendly and quick. Ambiance was nice, plenty of tables and chairs, parking is nice and located in the camarillo outlets shopping area. Highly recommend if you want some good comfort food for bfast.

Came during lunch, the restaurant was quiet, but relaxing. The lunch menu was excellent, and the food was not only quality, but well presented. The staff was friendly and attentive. Overall, a great lunch experience.

Was out shopping so decided to stop here for breakfast. I checked in on yelp prior to going in so I was seated right away. That part was great since there was a big line of people waiting. It was ok.. I wanted good pancakes and these weren't it! The rosemary potatoes were bomb! Bacon was good too. I'll go back for lunch to try the sandwiches cause they looked great! The menu has lots of options!

Just be mindful that a cup of coffee here is $3.99, I kind of misinterpreted the server asking me "Do you want coffee or orange juice?" when I was first sitting down to mean that it's complimentary. I should have just went with a cup of water honestly. The server could have been more transparent about the pricing with me. It also felt like he was rushing me to leave already even though there were so much open space (and I arrived later than the others around me), but I didn't take his customer service to heart. Thankfully the prices weren't too bad and the meal was pretty great. I was immediately seated for a solo brunch here. The Fall Menu looked very delicious and I went ahead to order the Fall Mini Breakfast, which included eggs, I chose bacon strips (2), and the fall pancakes (2). There was a bit of a wait but that meant the food came out hot and fresh! I found the egg and bacon platter to be cooked very well! Just how I liked them. The bacon was crispy thin and yummy, while the eggs were soft and creamy. The pancakes were also cooked so well! The batter mix was delicious and there was traces of pumpkin with the pancake, and topped with just the right amount of fruits, syrup, and powdered sugar (no additional syrup needed ontop if you ask me). I was super stuffed with this meal that I couldn't finish one pancake.

A nice midsized restaurant located in a strip mall. Very well furnished and pleasant staff. We arrived at opening at 7am and the mall looked closed, but when we entered we were greeted and seated quickly for a saturday. Many breakfast options, which were very sweet and tasty. I had the Loru's combo with bacon and a cinnamon roll french toast (AMAZING) and my wife had the crepe flight. These are very sweet, a little too sweet for my wife, but great food. We also enjoyed the large coffee options. I had a iced vanilla and my wife opted for the excellent cappuccino. A little pricey, but average for the area. Tipping was optional. Bathrooms needed a lot more attention. They were getting worn and needed a deep clean. That was the weak spot and cost them a star. But food and service were top notch.

Had to stop by the outlets after work and since I didn't want to drive home in traffic I decided to have an early dinner there. Loru's was just a few doors down and so it was an easy decision. It was quite empty when I walked in, only one table was occupied. I waited briefly at the front and the server then came over and said I could sit wherever I wanted. After giving me some time to review the menu she came over and told me about their Taco Tuesday special and of course I had to order that because who doesn't like tacos!?! I also got the chile verde with pork omelette with a side of fruit. Flavor wise everything was pretty good. My only issue was that everything seemed a bit overcooked, the meats were a bit dry and the omelette were a little chewy. If not for that then it would have been perfect! Service was good, my server regularly checked on me. It was a pretty solid experience and will be on my rotation for when I'm at the outlets.

I think street parking would be your best bet, however, you can drive up the side street near the residential areas if needed. Look for the 999 Pizza place. REVIEW: First timer to the location in Cam! To know me is to know that I am obsessed with their brown butter toffee cookies. I have been known to clear out the inventory at the Ventura (mall) location, #sorrynotsorry. They are THAT good. Trust me. So, this order was to go, but the inside seemed airy and open, loved the open vibe. There's a good amount of outside seating too, so if that's your preference, I would choose that option. (It's better than sitting outside at the Ventura Mall location, IMO). The employees were basic, that's OK. I don't expect much in 2026. No pics as the cookies were packed away in my bag asap. But, I'll be back! It was a fine-enough visit. Thanks!

Staff has always been professional and friendly and I have yet to have a bad meal there. Wednesdays and Saturdays you gotta go for the tritip sandwich. ATTENTION CUSTOMERS -- PLEASE BE AWARE!…read more Waypoint Café - Camarillo, California On November 4, 2026, I visited Waypoint Café in Camarillo and noticed something concerning about how their suggested gratuities were being calculated. Their suggested tip percentages appeared to be calculated on the total AFTER sales tax, rather than the subtotal BEFORE tax. HERE'S WHAT MAKES THIS EVEN MORE CONCERNING: Their receipt specifically states that suggested gratuities are calculated BEFORE taxes. However, when I reviewed the actual numbers, the suggested tip amounts appeared to be calculated AFTER taxes were added. Naturally, I brought this discrepancy to the attention of the staff, expecting a simple explanation or acknowledgment of a possible error. Instead, I felt the staff became very defensive when I questioned the calculations. Their response was essentially that it didn't matter because gratuity is ultimately at the customer's discretion. While that statement is technically true, it completely misses the point! The issue isn't whether tipping is optional. The issue is that the receipt states one thing while the calculations appear to reflect something entirely different. Rather than addressing the discrepancy or offering to look into it, I felt my concern was dismissed. As a paying customer, I believe asking a legitimate question about a bill should be met with professionalism, courtesy, and a willingness to provide clarification--not defensiveness. WHY DOES THIS MATTER? For example, if your bill is $100 before tax and $108 after tax: * 20% suggested tip before tax: $20.00 * 20% suggested tip after tax: $21.60 * Difference: $1.60 That might not seem like much on one transaction, but those differences can add up across hundreds of customers. LET ME MAKE SOMETHING VERY CLEAR: I fully support tipping hardworking restaurant employees. Great service deserves recognition and appreciation. This post is not about avoiding gratuity or taking anything away from employees. This is about transparency, accuracy, accountability, and customer service. When a business prints a statement on its receipt explaining how suggested gratuities are calculated, customers should reasonably expect those calculations to be accurate. And when a customer politely raises a concern about a possible discrepancy, the appropriate response should be to investigate and explain--not dismiss the concern simply because tipping is optional. Whether this is a payment-processing configuration error, an oversight, or something management is unaware of, it deserves to be reviewed and corrected if necessary. MY ADVICE TO OTHER CUSTOMERS: CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS! Don't automatically assume the suggested tip percentages are calculated the way the receipt claims. Take a moment to review the subtotal, sales tax, and suggested gratuity amounts before paying. I encourage Waypoint Café management to review this issue and ensure that its printed statements accurately reflect its calculations. At the end of the day, it's not about the extra dollar or two. It's about the principle. Customers deserve accurate billing information, honest explanations, and respectful treatment when they raise legitimate concerns. Transparency builds trust. Dismissing customer concerns damages it. I'm sharing my personal experience so other customers can be informed and make their own decisions.
