I couldn't stop raving about how delicious it was, as I drank it. lol. The food was great too. The menu is quite extensive, and I almost confused myself. I decided to try one of my fave breakfast/brunch dishes, the eggs Benedict, but with the additional option of chicharron! My husband's grand breakfast plate included everything he wanted, and he devoured it. My eggs Benedict was equally as delicious. Not a morsel was left behind. Loru's Cafe is an excellent restaurant located in the the west side of Camarillo Premium Outlets. They offer an incredible variety of delicious breakfast/brunch items at great prices. In addition, they offer breakfast items all day. They are now my favorite place in Camarillo for breakfast. They also offer very good lunch and dinner items at great prices. Also, the staff is always very friendly and helpful. My only warning is they can be very busy during normal breakfast/brunch hours. However, I've never had an issue with waiting or getting a table during dinner hours. In summary, I highly recommend Loru's Cafe, especially for breakfast. read more

Went to Loru's on Saturday morning and they had no wait. We got seated right away. Our server brought us water pretty quickly and after he took our order it took about 15 minutes until the food got there. Our waiter was very helpful in helping us decide what to order because we were in between two different sweet items so that was nice. The mocha latte was just okay. Overall we had a good experience. Our waiter was very friendly and respectful. The place was pretty busy and noisy from all the people when we went, and there were tables both indoor and outdoors. Some of the best omelettes I've ever had - they make them so thin so you can actually taste the flavor of everything inside (no adding flour to make them "fluffy"). I was so bummed when friend said that the food is good but the service sucks. The side she asked for didn't show up until long after her food was cold. And all because the waiter forgot. This is a solid spot for brunch located at the Camarillo outlets and run by folks with over 30 years in the restaurant business. Best tip is they do have a wait-list on Yelp so have someone check in person or on Yelp and take a peek at some nearby stores while you wait if they're open This place gets packed , solid food at an affordable price with plenty of American and Mexican brunch staples . There's indoor and outdoor seating and is very casual. You'll see large groups and small groups making their way to the menus as wait staff drop off generous platters of food. You'll find yourself peeking at other tables and going " oh that looks good" . With so many options on the menu it's hard to go wrong. I've been there a few times and really like their hash browns and gravitate towards breakfast platters. On my recent visit I ordered the Loru's combo that comes with cinnamon roll French toast (so good) and choices of potatoes (went with hashbrowns), protein (I got bacon and 2 scrambled eggs. I've tried their pancakes in the past and there are a few flavor options and they have the option to add on fresh or canned fruits. Because it can get busy service at times can get slow and it may feel like you're not getting checked on , but if you're coming in with those expectations that on a weekend you're going to wait to be seated and for your food order, it's definitely tasty enough food that I'd be willing to come back again. Was feeling in a brunch mood and made the drive over the grade to get some delicious food in Camarillo. This is one of my favorite spots for brunch since not only do they offer bottomless mimosas but delicious Mexican and California style breakfast options. Service is a bit slow sometimes, but they are usually busy when we go. Our server this last time was very thoughtful and friendly. On a good day I like to sit on the patio as inside it can get noisy. I am aghast that Loru's Cafe rating sits at 4.5 stars. That makes NO sense to me with as many negative reviews as I have read speaking against them, not to mention, I witnessed and experienced the same sub-par food in person. How is this restaurant listed on Yelp with such a high rating? It's mathematically IMPOSSIBLE. Did they strike some deal with Yelp to NOT count the bad BUT ACCURATE ratings? Yelp admin. has been accused of this for years, but I'd like to think that my accurately reflecting my findings for them still counts for something. Yelp's rating for two stars... "could've been better"... is exactly how I felt about the food at Loru Cafe, and frankly, it could've been MUCH better. They get the 2 stars (and not just 1) because my husband was fine with his spinach scramble. Who knows... maybe breakfast is their strong suit, and I should've stuck with that. He thought it was tasty, although he mentioned the portions were on the smallish side, but otherwise, it was fine. However, I was so underwhelmed with my tuna and avocado salad that I actually sent it back and ordered something completely different, much to the annoyance of the food preparer, who I could was glaring at me once he found out who sent it back. Body language speaks volumes !! The salad didn't have some of the listed ingredients from the menu, which is always annoying to me. I'm paying for what they listed, but I'm not getting to actually eat it. It said 2 scoops of tuna salad...... okay, it was more like one large scoop... or 2 small ones. There was NO avocado whatsoever, which was one of the TWO main ingredients, nor were there any olives. Then, we get to the quality of the items that were there... the corn was straight out of a can, there were a few diced tomatoes, there were 3 small sliced pickles, again, straight out of a jar. The lettuce was just iceburg, which I don't mind, but it looked like it had been around for awhile, kind of yellowing, not as much green, and the Ranch dressing I ordered was not homemade. I tasted it, and there is nothing worse to me than pre-bottled Ranch. I sent the pile of boring, underwhelming salad back to the kitchen. They didn't even try to arrange it with any artistic flair, either... it was all just thrown in there, and I thought, do they expect me to eat THIS? There was NO way, especially with missing ingredients that I happen to love, so I returned it... and I NEVER do that. I return some things to heat them up more. I return other things for other reasons, but ALWAYS with the intent of getting it back. This salad, I returned to never see again. When I returned my salad to the kitchen, I did a complete about-face and instead ordered a patty melt, which came back to me PARTIALLY cooked. The beef patty was thoroughly cooked, the cheese was mostly melted (but it could have been better melted), but it was the bread that the cook hastily sped up the process of grilling/frying or whatever it was he was supposed to do, and it could have used about 5 more minutes cooking time, but I was also dealing with a pissed off cook, so I just accepted what I got. Yes, it was edible, but it was just mostly greasy from the butter he was supposed to be using to toast the bread some more. The beef patty was not seasoned at all, virtually no flavor, and we won't comment about how the meat patty wasn't even large enough to cover the bread it was on. It went about 2/3 of the way. The French fries were cooked nicely, but I couldn't eat them with the Ranch dressing as I normally would have done because I already knew that the Ranch wasn't homemade, so I didn't ask for it. Even the catsup was sub-par. Everyone knows Heinz is the superior catsup vendor and that Hunt's is inferior quality. Loru's uses Hunt's, so I think I've painted a decent enough picture. The bottom line is that I will NOT be returning to this establishment, and they ought to be ashamed for passing off food the way they do. Whatever. I spoke the truth, and guess what... my pictures will show some of it. They can say whatever they want and somehow manipulate their overall score, but buyer beware. read more

Swung through here on a trip to the Outlets one weekend, and the brunch here is actually quite nice. The Bloody mary to start is a must, spicy and tangy and with a fresh crisp piece of bacon. Loru's Cafe exceeded my expectations in almost every way, and will be my first dining choice next time I'm at the Camarillo outlet mall. Our server was friendly, helpful, and professional. I ordered a dinner garden salad with a cup of clam chowder. My mom also had clam chowder plus a half tuna salad sandwich. The dinner salad was a generous size, but I finished it because the vegetables popped with freshness. The ranch dressing was also good. I enjoyed the chunky New England clam chowder served with crackers. My mother thought the chowder was a bit salty, but that might have been because the crackers were salty. I also ordered herbal tea, which came with lemon slices and honey. When I asked for a refill on hot water, our server gave me an additional mini pot of hot water. Overall, the restaurant had the vibe of a family business that takes pride in what it does. I wish I came with a bigger appetite so that I could try more of what Loru's had to offer. My one disappointment was that the bathroom wasn't quite as tidy as I would have liked, with stray paper towels strewn by guests on the floor. On the other hand, I came on a busy winter holiday shopping season day so it was probably unusually busy. If I'm in the area, I'd definitely like to try breakfast here. read more

Two of us ordered a Mexican breakfast dish, chilaquiles, one other ordered pancakes and eggs. I just left this restaurant a few minutes ago. I've eaten there once before and it was ok. My daughter was less than impressed, but I thought I'd give it another shot today. I think we can title this review "An unfortunate mistake". Right off the bat I walked in and employees were sitting in the booths chatting. Only one customer on a weekday at 8:00AM. Not a good sign. Once I was noticed I was seated. Floor was greasy and a little slippery. Another bad sign. I ordered ham steak and eggs over medium. My breakfast arrived quickly and that was the high note. Toast was burnt and the eggs were runny. Not over medium at all. The food lacked flavor and to honest, I could have done better at home. I took my time consuming this "meal" and wasn't checked on once. By then there were two other customers so maybe they were just too busy. I really wanted to like this place, but sadly it's no better than iHop. Maybe not even as good. I'm not even sure I can blame the staff or this place. Since Covid, it's like mediocrity has become the standard and this place met that standard. Hopefully they will improve as Camarillo needs a few more good breakfast places. read more

This was our second time here. We returned after our first visit because we remembered it being good. The service was fine, it was a Saturday morning and busy. Our server unfortunately forgot my coffee, then after reminding her she brought me the wrong one. She also served me the wrong egg style and didnt notice until I let her know. (I served for years, so I am particular) When she brought the bill, I was charged for the wrong coffee, and I had to let her know again. Maybe a little more attention to detail. The food . . . Lacked any and all flavor! This was wrong as we all three ordered chile verde (per recommendation) and their "special" chicharrón huevos rancheros. Great breakfast place. Has your typical American diner breakfast items from your omelettes to your pancakes. I've gone twice and both times were great. Food was great and price to food ratio is fair. I think they did an excellent move by posting up shop in the outlets especially because they serve alcohol and mimosas for parents who need a break from wrangling their kids all day. We ordered breakfast crepes and Loru's waffle (waffle with churro and berries on top). I haven't had many savory crepes, but the breakfast crepe was almost like an eggs benedict in crepe form. Really delicious and quite a large portion! The waffle itself wasn't anything special, but the churro was quite delicious. We unfortunately had to wait an incredibly long time for our food and since we sat outside, it was hard to get anyone's attention. this was my first time eating here with my family, they've been here twice.i will say for a Saturday we where seated after 10mins we got there. seemed busy when we first got there but it died down a couple minutes later. which is not bad! my family's orders where okay, it was mostly mine they kept messing up. i got the Loru's Combo, i got two scrambled eggs, sausage,a side of fruit, and french toast. i also ordered a matcha latte iced. it took longer then 30+ minutes to get our food, and the server completely forgot my matcha which is okay! however i noticed it just sitting there on the island where they take out all the food to take to tables for more then 5+ minutes. i watched about 6 waitresses and servers standing around there chatting not noticing the drink was there ready to be taken to our table... i will say this did annoy me a little since we where already waiting for a while. I'd also like to mention my dad ordered the chicken cobb salad and personally, i think a salad should have not taken more the 30+ minutes to make... we get our food i was only served my eggs ( cold btw) and sausage, and eventually my french toast, i realized i was missing the fruit on my plate, i made sure to read the menu again just in case and the menu didn't say it came with fruit...only hash-browns or potato's. okay... so i asked if it was okay for me to get the hash-browns, since i assumed they forgot i ordered fruit with it. they came out right away but they tasted very bland and just tasted as if they where reheated not fresh... also there was 2 people sitting next to us who came like 20 minutes after us and they got their food immediately... overall, food was ok..i felt as if the staff was more interested in having conversation with each other rather then at least making sure people around where doing okay, it felt as if they where trying to avoid everyone...you can get better service at IHop! read more

Located next to Pink's Hot Dogs in the Camarillo Outlets. The facility is nice and the service was friendly. The chorizo omelet was as good as any in this town and the potatoes had just the right amount of crispiness. My wife had the Loru Grand Breakfast. The sausage links were cold, but it was otherwise good. Having your own coffee carafe on the table was a nice touch. There are a lot of good breakfast options in Camarillo. What we had was certainly competent. I'll have to try some of their lunch offerings to get a better sense of the overall quality of their menu and to see if they distinguish themselves. read more

Blown away by how good this spot is!!! I am a beyond picky eater. I'm pescatarian and not a huge breakfast fan anymore. This restaurant made me want to eat breakfast more. Tuesday morning my coworkers and I had a team meeting at this restaurant. The staff was superb, Everyone was friendly and helpful. Ambience was nice. I ordered the salmon Benedict. The smoked salmon, was great, the English muffin was yummy, and the hollandaise sauce was one of the best I've ever tasted. In fact my friend couldn't stop eating too. My coworkers had Nutella crepes and huevos rancheros. We all can't wait to go back! We work in the outlets and we are so thrilled to finally have a great restaurant near work.
