We had a fantastic experience at Blvd Burger in Camarillo and will definitely be back! From the moment we walked in, the service was absolutely impeccable. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared that we had a great meal. The Blvd Tots are definitely an acquired taste. They just weren't for our daughter, Baylee. Without us even asking, the owner kindly offered to make her a plain order of tots with ranch instead. That small act of kindness meant so much and really showed how much they care about their customers. Great fish and chips and Mac and cheese! Bacon with a great cheese pull!!! I probably went on a very off day (Easter Sunday). I've told myself that there will be times (at least a dozen) where I was really looking forward to a restaurant and that I would order almost one of everything on the menu and it will be one of the best memorable meals of my life. However,........ Blvd Brgr totally and completely fell short of that. I ordered the following: 14 Cannons Mexican lager: room temperature, beer should be ICE cold. That first ice cold sip is the most satisfying sip. Tator tots: they were fried in 6-month-old rancid oil, loved the little left-over pieces of previously fried rock-hard onion rings and French fries. Chicken Wings (6 piece): they were OK, I had to pay extra for a side of Ranch, really??? Also, for $12 i don't get any celery and carrots??? CA Jedi Burger: cooked in one temperature - Well Done. For a "$13 craft" burger I should be able to order the patty Med Rare. Blvd Chili Bowl: served cold. my onions were still raw, and the cheese never melted. The chili came with onions but I still had to pay $.50. Also Jack cheese with Chili??? What ever happened to Sharp Cheddar cheese over a steaming hot bowl of chili??? Came back and everything was on point. I had the El Fuego which is now one of my favorite burgers. It had cheese that was crisped on the edges, and wasn't too spicy, just a slight bit of heat to it. I had the chili fries which I think lacked a little cheese while being too heavy on the meat chili but were still good. I went back for blvd fries, which I highly recommend. My kid loved his chicken tenders but for some reason didn't eat his fries, so I ate those too, mixing them with my blvd fries. I was happy to see my wife left part of her blvd grilled cheese, which has bacon, tomato and avocado. Finally they still have the 3 free arcades but some punk kid stole one of the knobs on the street fighter arcade joystick. Based off of the food pictures alone, on their website, I had to try the grilled cheese and truffle fries. Sadly, they did not live up to my expectations. The grilled cheese was more like an avocado, bacon, & tomato sandwich. Where was the cheese?!! The truffle Parmesan fries were so lack luster and could've been regular fries. We went back to Blvd Burger recently, after not having gone for a while, and I wanted to update my review because they have made a lot of improvements! The whole interior has been updated and improved - the old bench/booth seating along the wall in the bar room are gone in favor of regular tables/chairs. There are a couple of high top tables too, which I usually prefer. The bar looks brand new, and that whole room looks brighter. The service on our recent visit was excellent! Went to Blvd Burger for lunch today with my son and both food and service were great. I had the seared Ahi sandwich (burger?) and he had the kid's chicken strips with fries (got the kids size...2 tenders and fries). Ahi sandwich was legit and he liked the tenders. It was just about the only restaurant in Camarillo open on the 4th of July. The new smashburgers were fantastic. Two patties! We sat outside with our dog and enjoyed the evening. We really enjoyed being able to order after we were greeted and seated by our friendly and helpful server - she made sure to ask if we wanted to customize the amazing burgers we chose. Huge patties grilled to perfection and we all had a different selection. The sides were fantastic and I'll note that the zucchini sticks were a huge hit. Crisp outside and flavorful while the zucchini was done just right. Observed the huge selection of beers on tap, and there's certainly something for all aficionados. I was handed my food but couldn't help but ask if my food has been sitting there. I was ensured that it was just prepared but why it wasn't brought over wasn't clear but I was beyond disappointed. An apology was issued. I then followed up regarding the chocolate milk. Another apology. Since my family was just about done with their dinner, I simply asked for a box at this point. Now I get to enjoy a soggy burger at home. Very disappointing experience- highly doubt that we will return. Unfortunate because I make a point to support local businesses.
