Staying in town for a wedding and wanted something hearty and some caffeine so headed here to Village Cafe. Bomb!!!! So so good. Beverages we tried the honey bear latte and blueberry colada matcha. Both were delicious, the perfect sweetness level, and fun. I'm weird and don't like eggs in my breakfast burritos which they accommodated with absolutely no issue. The California Burrito and the Spanish Burrito were hot, flavorful, and filling. Also came with sides of salad, sour cream, and fruit. The staff was extremely friendly and helped us decide what to order and checked in on us frequently as we were eating to make sure we were taken care of. The food also came quickly. Plenty of seating inside, I didn't see tables outside but there's ledges to sit on. Also there's a bathroom for customers. Would highly recommend you try this spot!! I was in the area and decided to follow fellow Yelpers lead and check out village cafe. I had visited a few years back when it was under different ownership so was excited to give it a visit. I ordered the blueberry colada matcha since it's nothing like I've had before and I gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised. Oh literally said, "oh wow!" Wasn't expecting the blueberry and coconut flavors to be so present and fresh tasting. It was a bit on the sweeter end but very good nonetheless. I also ordered a danish and that sadly wasn't the greatest. It was a little too cold and hard. Service was friendly. The only issue with the shop is that in the short amount of time I was in and out ordering my drink, I left smelling like restaurant. You know that food/grease smell that sticks to your clothes? Yup, that one! I even stepped outside to wait for my drink and was still a victim. So bummed about that so hoping they can figure out better circulation for all customers, especially those like me who weren't even in there long. I will be back again in the future. Second time coming here and once again I am blown away! Went with the Camarillo burrito with chorizo and it was delicious. The chorizo is not that red/greasy stuff you find elsewhere which made it better. Also tried the overnight oats and those were just as delicious as the burrito. Really don't want to be writing anything too negative about a small business, so I will just say that Village Cafe is not really for me. I think the location, ambiance, and vibes are great, and maybe I would come back in the future to try the food because this place is popular and has so many people ordering food! However, the multiple times I've ordered a drink have been a miss for me. I've tried both a coffee-based latte drink and matcha latte drinks, but my main concern is just how sweet they are. For the matcha, I ordered a melon honey matcha, which sounded delicious, and other Yelp reviews seemed promising because of the bright and vibrant green matcha flavor. It was visually a beautiful drink, and I could taste the real pieces of melon used in the syrup, which was wonderful. However, the drink itself was so overly sweet that I could not taste any matcha flavor. Similarly, the coffee drink's sweetness dampened the flavor of the coffee. While I personally don't think I would come back for coffee unless with a group of friends, I think this place is a charming addition to the Camarillo cafe scene, and I would be interested in trying out the food! read more

I was in the mood for a breakfast burrito on my way to church one morning, so I started looking up places that had good burritos in the area and stumbled upon the Village Cafe. I decided on the Camarillo burrito which has a choice of meat so I chose bacon, but there were other options. I was in a bit of a hurry so I called ahead to order and I asked them to split it in half since I was sharing with someone. Once we got there 10-15 minutes later, the burrito was all ready for us and was split in half as requested and the person helping us was very nice. My sister ordered a coffee so while we waited for that we ate our burrito. There was not much seating inside and it was all taken so we ended up sitting outside on like the wide raised area of the walkway leading up to the cafe. The burrito was VERY good, exceeded all expectations. It was nice and warm and the cheese pull was immaculate. It even came with a little fruit cup on the side which was very nice and was plenty of food to share. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu, and I especially need to try one of their bakery items as they all look so good! read more

Came on their first day and options were very minimal and no coffee's. I threw some suggestions and the owners were beyond humble and the sweetest people ever. Came back now months later and just seeing this business blossom is so amazing. From the various options of to go snacks, deserts, iced coffees, hot coffee and matcha, also food options. Waow! I was so overwhelmed in a good way how everything looked. I did try 2 of their iced lattes and their beignets. It is located in the middle of a hidden area at village at the park. Surrounded by palm trees, homes, and a beautiful location. Plenty of parking just in front of their cafe. Seating inside and areas to sit outside... Staff is so friendly and welcoming and very supportive of businesses surrounding them. They are truly there for their community. Pricing is fair. Anything ranges from $7-20 which is good for what they offer. Great ready to go options as well. I got the salty pistachio pop which was delicious and my favorite by far. Always excited to support new locally owned business! As soon as I walked in Diego greeted me with a "Good Morning" and Alexia with a " Let me know what interests you!" Both happy and with a smile on their face. I really appreciate being acknowledged like that :) The little things that matter , you !? I got the Cali Burrito rolled up on a wheat tortillas. I think don't like wheat but I did ! Yummy . I would like it even more if grilled a bit once rolled up for a bit of texture. The burrito is filled with eggs, bacon, potatoes, avocado and pico! Yum! Comes with fruit , salsa and sour cream. Cost around $17 with the prices of everything- I get it. I love that it's more bright in there . Clean spot with plenty of natural light . The previous owners had the place looking dark. Great window art too by a local artist. I can tell the owners love what the do. They are so happy to be in our community! I'm a pretty regular customer here. I believe I was one of the first consumers when they took over from previous owners. Today I was completely & utterly shocked how a situation was handled. I bought two orange juices (totaling over $17 - already WAY overpriced but I supported this local mom & pop shop). My poor one year old son face planted walking right out of their cafe. I asked if I could grab another orange juice as my son fell. They told me no & that I could buy another one. Is customer service nonexistent these days? Sympathy nonexistent these days? I could have easily bought another $9 overpriced orange juice but the way the situation was handled, how I was treated... absolutely not. Shame on you. And to think you're parents too... thought there would have been some type of understanding. Shame on you. Shame on me for raving about your place to my friends & family. If you're into spicy food, I tried their weekend green Chilaquiles. They were delicious. They had a little a kick and a zesty good flavoring. It was in a bowl with potatoes came with eggs. I had a lovely experience at Village Cafe and am so happy I finally was able to give them a try. Located in the village commons area of Camarillo, this is definitely a best kept secret type of a spot. Outside there is plenty of guest parking and coming on a weekday before 8am it was nice and quiet inside. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Alexia was working when I came in and she was so lovely. Made me feel right at home and explained any questions I had about the menu. You can tell the owners are passionate about their business and eager to serve their community. The food is made fresh to order which is another plus. Sometimes with smaller cafes and markets food is premade but not here. Ordered a breakfast burrito and I could hear them cooking away on it in the back and all of the good smells from the kitchen came into the lobby. The menu is breakfast and lunch forward. Lots of great options like burritos, pastries, brunch bowls, sandwiches, wraps and soups. I also read today they are extending their coffee menu which is awesome. When I came I ordered one of their fresh squeezed orange juice and a California breakfast burrito. The perfect breakfast combination. My orange was clearly fresh and great when craving something other than coffee. The California breakfast burrito was loaded with egg, potato, bacon, cheese, avocados and pico. It was definitely one of the better breakfast burritos I've had in Camarillo! Lovely cafe and they definitely deserve your business. So happy I tried them out and I'll be back soon. :) read more

i hate to leave a bad review on a small local business but i have been back multiple times since my first review and don't think i will be returning. the customer service is always a bit rude and awkward, the prices charged are higher than what is listed on the menu boards, and everything is still served with disposable plates/ utensils. to me, paying $45 for two breakfast bowls and a small coffee should at least get you a nice atmosphere, but this place unfortunately has none of that. maybe i will give them another try someday, but probably not any time soon :( read more

This is one of mine and my husband's FAVORITE places! There hasn't been a single thing we had and didn't like. The breakfast burritos are delicious! We love a slow Sunday morning walk with our dogs and go straight here for breakfast. The owners are so kind, and always great you cheerfully. Now that they have coffee from Flour Power (which is equally so gooood!) they've really stepped it up a notch!
