I think by now we all know Cajé Coffee Roasters is a fan favorite in Downtown Ventura...but if you don't, now you know! This seriously addicting coffee shop, which started in Santa Barbara, has been a Ventura favorite for quite some time now, and it's been so fun watching them grow. Nestled in a charming converted cottage, this cozy café is the perfect addition to Downtown Ventura. When I stopped by over the weekend, they were insanely busy so I wasn't able to capture much of the space itself for photos but I can promise you it's a cute spot. We opted for outside table dining and it was lovely. To order you stand in line and then order at the counter, they'll bring the food back to your table, but they will call you up to grab your drinks. We ordered a couple of iced lattes and their famous Bella Rose - iced matcha, which was absolutely gorgeous and just as delicious. 10/10. Their drinks are truly little works of art and always worth ordering. To finish off brunch, we grabbed a couple of bagels. One of my favorites is their toasted bagel with tomato, avocado, and cream cheese, it's simple and so satisfying. Next time I'll be trying one of their fruit bowls. The staff here are absolute rockstars. They crank out drink after drink with a smile on their faces while keeping the atmosphere welcoming and fun. This cute little coffee shop was definitely worth the visit. A small menu but lots to choose from, my friend and I both grabbed a blueberry matcha with almond milk and she got a bagel on the side (to go). The matcha was great, a little sweet but not overly sweet. My friend also said the bagel was pretty good with fresh ingredients. Service was great, barista was friendly, a little bit of a wait but it was pretty busy when we stopped by. Inside to order/wait is a very small space, so be prepared if there's a bunch of ppl ahead of you. There was a small bar to the right of the counter to sit at, inside had a few tables but the patio out front was huge! Commenting again on inviting ambience at this Caje. Even when it becomes more crowded, you can still carry easy conversation with friends as most of the seats are outdoors and this street is off Main St, so not as heavy foot traffic. This is one of the coziest and homey feeling cafes in Ventura. Generally there are enough tables that you would find seating. The one time I couldn't is when I came on Saturday early afternoon for the Farmers market and every table was taken. Generally you order at register, and the system seems a little confusing, But they'll call out your espresso based drinks. If you order food you get a Table # and someone will bring your food. But I also saw they delivered smoothies. So not sure if you can wait at your table for any drink or if you have to wait at the coffee bar to get your drink because it's hard to hear your name called if you sit outside. I did hear them using a PA system as needed. Still A+ recommendation. One day I'll have to try Ten Tigers Happy hour (which is this location after 4pm) read more

Definitely on the sweeter side for a matcha, but the flavor was perfect and the presentation was gorgeous. Just note: it's for-here only, so no taking it to go. I also tried the West Side Bagel, which was really good. Drinks did take a bit longer to come out compared to the food, but everything tasted great, so it was worth the wait. I absolutely love coming to Caje. It's so cute. Love the outdoor seating. They do also have indoor seating for those who prefer that. The workers are always nice when I have gone which is always a plus. They do have drinks they only serve if you are staying. My go too is The Burnout. It's so good. I have also tried the Bella Rosa and their honey lavender latte. Both are also good. I tend to always get one of their toasts as well. Love the bread they use. It's nice and soft. Love how they top the toast off with what they are serving it with so every bite is delicious. This location is in downtown so there is street parking and parking lots. Love this location. Discovering coffee shops in Santa Barbara is so much fun! Heading down back home to LA we found Caje and all around it's such a peaceful cute little shop. The decor is beautiful! Service was great! This is an absolutely charming coffee house which apparently doubles as a restaurant and/or bar (Ten Tigers) of sorts at night. You can tell that someone took a lot of time and care to decorate this place. It is beautiful both inside and out. There is also seating inside and out. My guess is this was a residential house at some point and it feels like you are hanging at someone's delightfully decorated home. It is bright and airy and welcoming. This place is one of my absolute favorites to stop in whenever I'm in town. The ambience is absolutely gorgeous, the people are super friendly, and the drinks are wonderful. I just don't think you can go wrong ordering anything here. I've had the Matcha green tea latte, which is absolutely perfect. All types of versions of their ice tea, which is absolutely tasty and wonderful. If they even make their own nut milk. This is one of those places where I love to grab a drink and just relax. They make their own almond milk so I opted in for an iced caramel latte and iced caramel matcha because they melt the caramel into the drink so it tastes really good. The Avo toast is really good. It has avocado, red cherry tomato's, sprouts, red pepper and toasted focaccia bread. It's enough to split with your partner. Came here to grab brunch while also wanting to work, but it was busy when we arrived. It's self seating after you order, and there's ample seating outdoors and indoors but most of the people seating inside were also working on their laptops. The specialty drinks are only for dine-in, but there's other drinks and food you can order if you want to take it to-go. We got lucky with parking and found a spot on the street, but we noticed that the area where this restaurant is located is a busy area so parking might be difficult to find. Bella Rose (3.5/5): This matcha drink is beautiful to look at. The taste itself is not bad, but the matcha flavor wasn't as strong as I'd like it to be. Burn Out (6/5): This drink was the absolute best! It was so good that we wanted to order more from the specialty drinks menu (cue the Jupiter's Forest) because we thought it'd be just as good as this drink. The coffee was amazing but I really loved the salted rim. The presentation is also beautiful. Cortado (3/5): This bagel was okay, but nothing special. I wish it had some sort of protein on it, as it was just bagel, cream cheese, pesto and tomato. It was light and refreshing. Coast Toast (3/5): This toast is pretty basic, as it's just nut butter, banana, blueberry and some chia seeds on top. Those combination never goes wrong and they all pair well together, but it didn't stand out to me. Jupiter's Forest (4/5): We ordered this drink because the Burn Out was so good that we wanted to try another drink on the specialty drinks menu. This drink was good, again the presentation is beautiful. The coffee was pretty strong, but there is a sugar rim on the side of the glass. Overall, I'd come here to get their drinks (specifically the Burn Out) and just work or read a book. It's a beautiful space and the staff was friendly. Definitely recommend checking this place out! Okay, this place is a vibe! It feels like a beach house that is a cafe in disguise. I found this place on social media and wow do their drinks look pretty! We sat outside because it was such a nice day outside. We got the Jupiters Forest and Bella Rose for the specialty drinks. I think the drinks are decent. The Jupiters Forest tasted sort of like tequila to me even though it didn't have any alcohol. It was pretty bitter and I didn't really taste much of the creaminess from the oatmilk. The drink was super aesthetically pleasing though. The Bella rose was okay too. I like it more than the Jupiter drink. The specialty drinks are definitely picture worthy, but the taste just isn't as great as what it looks like.
