Absolutely feel in love with the place! A great amount of outdoor seating and in door as well. All staff were so friendly and helpful with questions I had. The açaí bowl was amazing! And with a price tag under 12$! It was such a great serving that I couldn't even finish it.
Love this local hippie coffee shop. Their lattes are classic and delicious. Service is fast and friendly even when the line is very long. Love sitting outside with my food and drink and enjoying the beach weather! I had a delicious latte, oatmeal, and blueberry scone
I came to Lucky Llama because I heard they have a great açaí bowl. I ordered the Jupiter Bowl. I asked for no coconut and almond, and swapped it out for granola (not pictured). The açaí blend was very smooth. The peanut butter coconut oil drizzle tasted good, although it turned into a hard shell on the frozen açaí. The portion size was big and very filling! The staff were so friendly and happy to help the customers. There is both indoor and outdoor seating.
My daughter and I stopped by Lucky Llama Coffee House and had a great experience. The avocado toast was super good--fresh, flavorfu. The açaí bowl was refreshing and delicious, and the coffee was excellent--smooth and well-made. Perfect spot for a healthy breakfast or a relaxed coffee break.
this place is great. baristas are all super nice and get the job done well even when they're busy! as a barista i know how hard that can be :) my coffee and croissant were both great and my vegan mom loved her latte too. the place is cute as well with TONS of seating inside and out and a beautiful giant tree outside. might be my new fav place down here, as i've always gone to brass bird but i think i like this place a bit more....
You can say a tree lead me to discover Lucky Llama Coffee in Carpinteria, CA. The tree in particular is the largest Torrey Pine tree in the world. That beauty is roughly 125 feet tall and girthy at 20.5 inch circumference. As I was soaking in the shower but of the majestic marvel, I noticed Lucky Llama Coffee. The building is set a bit back from the tree. And luvin the stinky cute name and signage. The next morning, I dropped on in to Lucky Llama. The interior is tiny. The seating is mainly the outside patio. The line was out the door but it moved quickly. I ordered a Mayan mocha made with oat milk. Delicious. Ohhh it was smooth and creamy. Chocolatey but not candy bar chocolate tasting, more like quality cocoa. I sat outside and leisurely enjoyed my mocha. Again admiring the Torrey pine tree from afar. The patio had chill, relaxed vibes. It's dog friendly as well. The menu also includes acai bowls, bagels, muffins, avocado toast, bagel sandwiches, croissants, cinnamon roll, and cookies. They baked goods were all gorgeous looking and sitting pretty behind the glass counter. Open daily from 6:30 am-2:30pm.
I came to find this place through a Pinterest search. I came to visit Carpinteria beach for the day & was recommended this spot. The spot is cute & warm. There is ample parking in their lot or the street. There is also indoor & outdoor seating. I ordered the special llama bagel which was 10/10 & the iced Mayan mocha latte. The staff were friendly & open to questions. I recommend this spot to have a quick bite or for a spot to catch up with friends/family. I also loved how everyone would be waking their doggies & having them in the patio.
Cute coffee shop in Carpenteria. I got an iced Mexican mocha which has a hint that f cinnamon in it....it was just what I needed. I would recommend it if you're looking for a little sweetened iced latte. Their cup designs are very cute with a llama on it. I also got a bagel with cream cheese. The bagels looked so fluffy I had to get one :-) staff was nice and they sell merch in there like shirts, stickers and beanies. My SIL was looking for a matcha drink with coconut milk and they had that so nice to see different options!
I stopped in Carpenteria for a quick road trip coffee break; I had planned to go to a different place but it looked so warm and welcoming (and my trip to Peru was a highlight of my life) that I decided to check it out. The establishment is nestled under a historic tree from the 1800s next to what looked like a local boutique. Local families with kids of all ages were enjoying the beautiful Saturday afternoon, as were cyclists and single people. The service was great and the server told me the gluten free cinnamon buns were good. For gluten free, "good" is an understatement. I've tried as many gf cinnamon buns as possible (which is still too few in my opinion) and these are the best ever. They warmed it up for me and the consistency was soft and creamy, not hard like I expected. I saved half for later and even when it cooled down, it was still soft! I tried their specialty, the Mayan mocha and it did not disappoint. The coffee is good quality, as is the chocolate they used. Overall, this coffee shop combines good, gluten-free friendly products with a charming atmosphere. I will definitely bring my friends who enjoy good coffee.
Super cute coffee spot that we enjoy going to every time we camp in Carpinteria. There are açai bowls take a while on a busy day, but are worth the wait. And their Mayan coffee is really really good. The only thing I wish they had was better options for cold brews with cold foam etc, but other than that great quality coffee.
Really cute coffee/brunch shop with a cute little store next door. There's very limited parking (but we parked at a nearby center and walked here). They are dog friendly with tables outside (dogs not allowed inside when ordering). The Iced Mayan Mocha here was really good! It was a little sweet with a nice roasty flavor. The coffee taste was not strong so it was perfect for non-coffee drinkers like me. I got the moon bowl and and it was delicious. I'm not sure what granola they use but it had this saltiness to it that made it SO addicting to eat.
Heard this was the locals fav spot for coffee so had to check it out. There was a line on a recent Sunday morning which was expected. Grabbed a table in back with our dog as the g/f waited to place our order. Cafe Latte was very good and arrived nice and hot. When our Avocado Toast came, it was covered in lemon pepper and salt -- way too much and hard to remove as it was on the tomato and avocado. Would have returned it but didn't want to wait for another one to come out as it took awhile. The piece of toast was rather small for 11 bucks so may try a grain bowl or bagel next time. Atmosphere was lovely next to a very old and large tree.

A friend recommended this coffee shop so o had to check it out. Ticked away behind a retail shop you will this small coffee shop. In the weekend you'll know you found the spot if you miss the sign by the line of people at the door. Don't be discouraged by the line as it moves relatively fast. The shop consist of straight forward coffee drinks and a small menu perfect for breakfast. Prices are standard coffee shop prices. I ordered a matcha and was quite pleased but it went down in so quickly. Ask for some honey with your match, as it makes all sorts of much better. As for sitting: there is a small area inside with tables. Plus tables outside with umbrellas or a rent. Nice to sit outside when it's cooler out or in the morning before the sun comes out. This place is a good alternative to chains. Support local places. read more
* ** What's appealing about this spot? - The town is appealing - it is reasonably accessible from the nearby road - Huge tree in the adjacent, open field ******** - Staff seemed quite miserable - Scone was simply the worst "cardboard tasting"scone ever - Tiny drip coffee portion with that "burnt" flavor featured (light roast) - Signature, yelling of customer names (multiple times) to create that special relaxing environment we all look for on a Saturday morning. *********** Icky ... yeah, that's how I'd describe my (second) visit. Consistently unpleasant and uninspired operation - both times. Summary: A high demand location, delivering a mediocre product, for a premium price, with lotsa yelling people's names .... in the most annoying fashion. Photos? Really? It's that bad. Suggest you dig-a-little deeper in Carpenteria, you can do better. read more

Trendy busy coffee shop in downtown Carp. Besides coffee, they serve huge Acai bowls, pastries, avocado toast and oatmeal. There are some tables and bar seating inside. Outside is a deck with a few tables with umbrellas and then some more tables under a shade covering. I recommend sitting outside to enjoy the fresh air and cool weather. I ordered a hot chai latte and a toasted jalapeño cheddar bagel with cream cheese. The bagel was airy, light, some crispy crust with a great chew. Honestly one of the best coffee shop bagels I have had. The chai was pretty standard in comparison with most. Maybe just not as strong of a chai flavor that I am used to. Parking is a pain. There are 3 street parking spots and then a dirt parking lot behind the shop with limited parking. We saw people pile up in the parking and park in-front of a sign that said "do not park". We went around a few times and saw a street parking spot open. The biggest pain was actually leaving the parking spot. A woman saw I was trying to leave and pulled in front to back up into my spot (before I vacated it) and waved for me to go around her but I could not because of oncoming traffic in the other lane. This went on for about 3 min until I had no choice but to go in the lane against oncoming traffic because she was not going to move until I did. read more

Calm coffee shop vibes - I like the wood and tile accenting and the local art for sale on the walls. There was jazz playing in the background, so it would be a good place to chat and catch up with people. I sat indoors since it's been rainy lately, but they have 2 outdoor seating areas, one where there is a llama. The baristas are super friendly and polite - one of them complimented me on my earrings as soon as I came in, and they did some nice latte art. I ordered a lavender latte, but the lavender flavor wasn't very strong. The espresso itself though was good and not too bitter. I'd come back but I'd try something different. read more
This local coffee shop/cafe has a lot of offerings, but I'm going to only talk about the açaí bowl I got. I ordered the moon bowl (blended açaí, peanut butter, strawberries, granola and I switched out the banana for blueberries). If you don't want banana blended into the açaí base, they can take it out for you, like they did for me. Very kind and accommodating. I find that the banana flavor can be overpowering, so always ask to leave it out. This thing was MASSIVE. And so fresh and delicious. I think I may have gotten 3 meals out of it. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the vibe is very relaxed and invites you stay for a while. Cannot wait to try their coffee, teas, bagels, and overnight oats! read more

Cute coffee shop! I loved the theme and general layout. Very busy place as it is a popular spot! The vegan and vegetarian options are great. And they only charge 75 cents for dairy free milk options which is lower than most places do! It's environmentally friendly and there are no straws available. Service was handling the busy atmosphere well. Bathroom needed to be cleaned but it was really busy so I don't fault the staff for not getting to it fast enough. read more

Love this cute little coffee place. Definitely had some hipster/beachy vibes as far as the clientele. I loved the outdoor seating & just the whole llama thing really. Coffee, matcha, & pastries were very good. So glad we stopped here on our roadtrip. read more
