Dark Coffee was a very okay experience for me. It's a busy café with a nice atmosphere, and they also have food options. My friend and I tried the churro latte with almond milk, but unfortunately it didn't meet my expectations. The almond milk flavor was so strong that it honestly felt like I was just drinking almond milk rather than a churro latte. For me, the drink didn't live up to the hype. The customer service was good and welcoming, which I appreciated. The location is also convenient, within walking distance of the beach, and parking wasn't difficult to find. The café itself has some good qualities, but based on what I tried, the experience just wasn't for me.
The beach brew is a nice subtle drink if you need an afternoon pick me up. It's not overly sweet either. I will say my first few sips of my drink had a bit of sweetness, and then the rest of the drink wasn't sweetened at all, so make sure to mix your drink! Also the lanterns on the ceiling is so cute and service is really friendly too!
Friendly staff that gave good recommendations for preferred taste in ice lattes. We sat outside and looked at the marina with the mountains as a back drop. Couldn't ask for a better view on a sunny afternoon
First time visiting, there was a long line Sunday at 9:30a. Cute coffee shop with indoor seating. They have really good coffee, they roast their own coffee beans & make their own syrups. They also have specialty drinks, lemonades, matcha, teas & caffeine free options. They also have pastries, empanadas & burritos. We enjoyed the Americano & the matcha latte with vanilla syrup.
Dart Coffee Co is in such a great location super close to the beach, so we ended up just walking over. We parked in a nearby lot that was $7 for the whole day for the beach which felt pretty reasonable for the area. I got an iced latte, and while it wasn't anything super memorable or mind blowing, it was still a solid good coffee. Sometimes that's all you need. The staff was nice, and the drinks came out really fast. The inside is cute too, with some seating if you want to hang out for a bit, and I liked that they also sell coffee beans to take home, so of course I grabbed some for later. They also had some fancy chocolates inside, which was a fun little bonus to browse while waiting.
Came to Dart coffee on a Saturday afternoon, place was hopping. It seems they're connected to a restaurant, there was a big open space with people sitting down and eating but not much in the way of seating for people just grabbing coffee from what I could tell and there was no place to sit outside either, which was the first bummer because I'm not a big grab a coffee and walk with it kind of girl. They had two brews available and they had the coffee in a carafe. I don't know why I hate being served coffee from a carafe but I do. She poured the coffee about 1/3 of the way, walked away, came back and said they were out of this roast and said she would finish me off with the other roast. I don't know, I didn't love that. Why not just pour me a fresh cup with the single brew that you actually did have. The coffee was very mediocre in my opinion. Just didn't love it or the place itself.
Excellent drip (house) coffee. And they roast their own beans too. Stumbled across this place by accident, must be one of the most popular coffee houses in town cause there was a line 10 deep. Luv the open air design
Great coffee shop in the Funk Zone of Santa Barbara. It's a super little place, but they are fast and with great customer service. Ambiance is relaxed and it's more a grab and go place. They have a great variety of options of coffee, Iced Teas, plus some pastries, treats and empanadas. We ordered a Wild Edelberry Iced Tea, an Iced Matcha Latte and 2 Vegan Empanadas. Everything was delicious. Empanadas were freshly made and super tasty. Ceremonial Matcha was of a grade plus quality.
This place is worth the long line! The lattes were incredible and the food was amazing! We split a bagel and a breakfast burrito and both were outstanding. The vanilla latte was refreshing and delicious. The ambiance is fun and the restaurant is clean even though they are super busy. Thank you Dart Coffee!!
Second visit to Dart Coffee. The shop has a cute, cozy vibe, and the staff were friendly. I tried the iced mocha this time, but unfortunately, it tasted weak and could have used a stronger coffee and chocolate flavor. Still a nice spot for the atmosphere.
Delicious coffee drinks and pastries are served here. Stopped by for a coffee break here driving home from Cambria. I had it saved in my bookmarks to try. I'm happy we did. The coffee was delicious. I got the Beach Brew and enjoyed every sip. My son's cortado was perfectly made. Customer service was friendly even though they were super busy. Great vibes here. Check them out if you are ever in Santa Barbara.
Great little coffee shop in Santa Barbara! Highly recommend their Beach Brew. Right mix of creaminess, coffee taste, and flavor. Service was helpful in going over the menu and our coffee came out almost right away. Inside of the shop is really cool and I like how they decorated the ceiling with cool looking lights all over. Plenty of indoor seating, open air views with big windows. Worth a visit as you start your day off exploring SB!
On a weekend roadtrip to Santa Maria, stopped in Santa Barbara for a quick coffee and came across Dart Coffee Co. super friendly, trendy and quite the social watering hole! The staff were welcoming and friendly and the coffee was delicious!!
First timer ! Churro latte is amazing Arnold Palmer refresher is delicious Well recommended, customer service is great and very polite , they have two type of seating where the heaters are at and across the street is the gardens seating . Recommend to see both . Very clean environment nice and bright and very colorful in designs Definitely will be coming back with friends and family read more

Iced churro latte - 3.3/5. At first I tasted a really strong churro flavor, but once I mixed it, it distributed throughout the drink and I could barely taste the cinnamon. Cute place though and is located really close to the beach! read more
Baristas and cashier were kind, fast and friendly. However, coffee leaves much to be desired. Beans aren't the strongest and resulted in a bland latte with the milk being the star of the show. 4 stars because the ambience inside is nice for chilling and the pastries were actually really good. Good buttery flake to the croissants and pain au chocolate. read more

2.5 rounded up to 3 stars - Great customer service and aesthetic is on point. Our drinks however were awful. So so so watered down and we got whole milk . Friendly staff but nooooooo latte should be watered down. It's a latte. Milk . So ...Why!? Porque? Why the 3 and a one because ... the service was great , cute place and it's a local biz. I hope they see my review and work on the ratios for their drinks. Or was it an off day. Idk but i would not rush back . read more

Loved it here!!! We got a cold brew and a matcha latte and both were good! My matcha was milky, but I saw another girl order a strawberry matcha which had a super nice green color, so it might be worth taking your chances because the taste of the matcha itself was good! The regular black cold brew was very strong so we added a splash of heavy cream. The space is so nice for socializing or doing homework, and it's a joint space with a shawarma spot, I'd come again! read more
We were in SB this weekend for the Santa Barbara 100 bike race. I had almost a whole day to explore while waiting for my bf. to finish his 100 and I spent quite some time at this coffee shop during the morning on Saturday. And when my bf's race was over, we came back here again in the afternoon. Let me tell you, the hype of this place is real. The coffee and matcha was so good! Matcha was great quality, unsweetened with oat, so good! perfect blend and even if you sit long at the coffee shop to read or whatnots, your iced matcha oat latte will not separate for some strange reasons like some other coffee shops. Their coffee, from specialty lattes and cold brew to a decaf iced americano were all yummy. But you know what made me absolutely LOVED this place? Is their pastries!!! Oh EM GEE!!! So I was there early in the morning and the line was still out the door already. Service is super slow like other reviewers said but I wasn't in a rush and had nowhere else to go. I went crazy and ordered their mushroom empanadas, one plain croissants, and two of their perfect sea salt chocolate chips cookies. Their cookies started my sweet cravings again! So sad!! I've been trying to be good and haven't had much sweets cravings but my gosh, you need to try their cookies, they are if not, THE BEST! Perfect chewy soft texture and it's thick enough to hold in your hand. I was so glad I got two because when we came back in the afternoon, their counter of pastries barely had few bagels left! Everything was GONE! if you want your pastries, you need to come here early!! The shop is super cute and everyone was so nice. Beautifully decorated. They share the same seatings for Tamar, cool concept. Would def come again and DEF highly recommend this place!! read more

I came to Santa Barbara and, based on my friends' recommendation, decided to stop by this coffee shop. I'm so glad I did! Everyone was incredibly friendly, and the place itself is beautifully designed such a cozy and aesthetic vibe. They even have treats for dogs, which was such a nice surprise since I came with my two dogs, and they absolutely loved it. The coffee was amazing, and the atmosphere made the whole experience even better. I really like this place and would definitely come back! read more

Cashiers and baristas are super nice! Coffee here is pretty consitent - their beach brew is great. They share a space with Tamar which opens in the afternoon, it can get a bit crowded with seating because of that but lucky they have some extra seating outside facing the parking lot as well as across the street in the "Dart Garden". Dart garden has lots of space and has their own WIFI as well. I always see people here doing some work from their laptop or reading books. read more
This coffee shop is on the corner of Yanonali St. and Gray Ave. with very limited parking. Adjacent to Tamar Restaurant, they operate out of the same building and share seating space. During my 1st visit, it seemed unclear if Darts' customers could use the seating space, so I ordered takeout. I had their 'Hot Latte' with an 'Everything Bagel'. Both tasted amazing! The latte was smooth and creamy with a perfect balance of milk and espresso. It's such a great feeling when the right barista handles your drink! The bagel was perfectly toasted, yet so soft inside with the right seasoning. The menu lists one price for each specialty drink, so I was not able to get a larger latte. I was served a 12 oz drink. I almost passed on this experience because I couldn't find parking and the line was out the door. So I got out of my car while my husband drove around and I waited in line. Surprisingly, the line moved quickly. Service was friendly and welcoming. The Café is cute, with a soft feminine aesthetic. Clean and organized. Overall, I had a good experience here and enjoyed every sip. read more

Although they always have a line, don't be discouraged because it goes by so quickly. Ordering with the barista is quite quick and easy and we only had to wait a few minutes for our drinks to be prepared. We did receive our donut right away and it was perfectly fresh and sweet! They are busy so we didn't want to stay and try to find a table but instead we took everything on the go. My husband loved his vanilla latte and I was lucky to get a sip with how quickly he enjoyed his drink. It was the perfect balance of coffee with a hint of sweetness. I enjoyed my seasonal lavender matcha as well. While it didn't have a lot of lavender to it, it was still an enjoyable matcha. Either way I was quite happy! read more

This is a cute coffee shop that shares space with a small restaurant. We came on a Sunday and it was quite a challenge to find parking. We ordered an espresso over ice which was perfectly fine and an iced decaf mocha no ice extra mocha. The drink came out full of ice initially. I pointed this out to the barista and he politely remade the drink for me. The drink was fine. i had read reviews of d collect mocha syrup but i was not particularly impressed. no pup cups here fir my boy Fergus as they have no whip cream at all. I was a tad disappointed in the experience as the reviews had gotten my hopes up. read more

Hongo: 5/5 Wait times: Reached at around 10:30am, there was a small line but things moved quickly and we were able to get a seat inside in about 5mins. Nice hipster coffee shop in the funk zone. It was crowded and popping! The coffees were hot and cold and really good. We had two Americanas. They have food also...., Decent quality and good prices. They did not have Splenda. They had stevia and sugar only. read more
Dart Coffee is such a cute and cozy spot, perfect for a relaxed morning in Santa Barbara. The coffee is delicious, and they even do latte art, which is always a fun touch! The atmosphere is charming, with space to enjoy your drink. The food was also good, but if you're getting a burrito, just know they don't have much egg. I think a bit more would have made them even better. read more

How is the parking?
They have a small lot. And funk zone has lots and street parking. If you go on a nice weekend late morning onwards can require a few loops around to find parking. But then a lovely short walk through the funk zone to Dart. Weekdays I often park…

When I visited, they did have pastries, and there is also a restaurant within the same building that serves more substantial food options.

No. It's connected to a restaurant. It's not ideal for using your laptop or studying.
