Hubby is a big coffee drinker. We went twice is one day here lol. He ordered the shakerato in the morning, but the afternoon one was overly sweet. He noticed the quality of the coffee beans had a lot of flavor, weren't burnt compared to other coffee places he goes to. He enjoyed the coffee so much he grabbed a bag of beans to take home (the zip zinger). I ordered the magic bowl-chamomile tea steamed almond milk and honey which was very soothing, perfect for the cold weather. In the afternoon I had the matcha latte which was a great pick me up. Both were delicious. The girl taking our orderly was very sweet and welcoming.

Vanilla latte iced x2, iced matcha, hot vanilla latte

I LOOOOVE going to local coffee shops when I visit an area and I'm so glad I did!! The coffee is 10/10 would recommend. Vanilla latte-- classic done right, not too sweet, not too milky, perfectly smooth, and the espresso is amazing! I got the hot one (as per usual) and loved it but the iced is good too!! I'm always so wary of ordering lattes because some places the milk ratio is just TOO MUCH for however much coffee they put (or it's too weak or watery or something) and it just tastes like sweet milk with a whiff of coffee. But here, the ratio is perfect! Iced matcha-- Ehhh unfortunately quite terrible and watery. They DO whisk it with the brush and bowl and all and you can watch with the open kitchen concept .... But the ratio here is off and doesn't taste great. Super mild matcha taste. Almond Croissant-- Solid would get again!! Ask for it warmed up!! There's a parking lot and both indoor and outdoor seating. Absolutely would come again for the hot vanilla latte!!! They're a coffee roaster so for sure coffee is where it's at.

I've been a fan of Dune Coffee Roasters since the early French press days, so watching them grow into four locations across Santa Barbara and Goleta has been pretty cool. Proof that good coffee and consistency actually matter. Ordering online is easy, there's a great outdoor patio, and plenty of indoor seating. It's one of those places that works for everything. Catching up with a friend, hosting a meetup, studying, remote work, family hangouts, locals, tourists, cyclists. Yes, there's a bike rack. Let's talk about the real stars. I'm obsessed with their toast and jam. Simple, perfect, no notes. And as someone who drinks iced vanilla lattes regularly, theirs always hits. Not overly sweet, perfectly balanced, and consistently smooth. Staff is cool too. Friendly, efficient, and never weird about explaining the menu or answering questions, even when it's busy. They've also got solid merch if you're into taking a little piece of your favorite coffee shop home. Parking is what it is. There's a small lot and a paid city lot across the way, which feels very downtown Santa Barbara and not worth stressing over. As for some of the negative reviews I've seen... high chairs? This isn't a restaurant. Hipster prices? Starbucks is charging over $7 now, so let's all be serious. Pet friendly too. Just keep your well-behaved, leashed pup outside since health department rules are a thing. Reliable, welcoming, and always a good cup. Dune is a staple for a reason.

Love the space and natural light. The atmosphere is so lovely and friendly. Staff were sweet! We tried the tres leches latte and it was really good. I definitely liked sitting here and starting my morning on a nice day with delicious coffee.

been coming here 15 years and still love it. toast is shockingly underrated. they've become way more corporate over the years but still a solid spot with good indoor and outdoor seating

A spacious coffee shop with a pleasant and sunny patio. Service was a bit curt. Coffee was good, but the pumpkin spice iced latte was too sweet. I added some black coffee to lessen the sweetness. The coffee beans we took home are delicious.

Great place to pick up a coffee and small bite for breakfast! We got our coffee and food very quickly. The place has a few seating areas indoor and outdoor. Everyone was super friendly as well!

Great customer service. I was in need of some caffeine after the drive up from Ventura County! I got an iced latte and it was perfect. I got my perk back. Great customer service and nice space with seating inside/ outdoors. The shop is clean and staff was friendly! I would def be back when back in town. There is parking but I believe it's limited to two hours fir customers only.

Was in town for the weekend and needed a good cup of coffee. They had a batch brew and also a couple pour over selections. I ordered a Honduras gesha. Friendly service and they actually do the pour over by hand, with an Origami dripper. Plenty of seating indoors as well as some tables outside. The coffee I had was very fruity with a strong apple taste; recommend if you are into fruit forward, tea like coffee. They had interesting bean options when I went, but I already have too much coffee at home, but if I didn't I definitely would have picked up a bag

hot mocha latte

Needed a caffeine boost so we decided to swing by! We got the hot mocha latte and iced vanilla latte. The iced vanilla latte wasn't too sweet which we loved. I thought the hot mocha tasted like a yummy chocolate treat (but with caffeine). The service was quick on a weekend (during ucsb spring break)! There are indoor and outdoor seatings, so it's a great place to do work or chat with friends.

Was in need of caffeine and stopped here on Labor Day and it was very busy, there was line to order but it went by quickly. They have indoor and outdoor seating which is convenient. I ordered the iced pumpkin spice latte with oatmilk and although the pumpkin flavor was nonexistent the latte was creamy and not too sweet. I really enjoyed my coffee!

Cute interior & lots of space for sitting down. Servers nice and the matcha was pretty good. I got vanilla matcha with oatmilk hot.

Iced latte with oat milk - excellent

Wow! Really great quality coffee. Very popular. It the last indoor table on an early Sunday morning. I had an iced latte with oat milk, and it came served in a real glass. They have a parking lot, too, which is convenient, though I was walking today.

Like many parts of Santa Barbara, the buildings are steeped in history and reflect the Spanish heritage of the city. I walked in my dog (they're dog friendly!) and went straight to look for the menu. My dog immediately found the bike pump and the snacks they leave for dogs. Service is super nice! They all seem very jovial and cheerful - making it a really nice local vibe. It was great to see the community in the coffee shop. Sadly, the coffee leaves something to be desired. Their menu is pretty standard - you got your flat whites, cappuccinos, lattes - and nothing special or standout from the menu. That's fine - you can still be a standout coffee shop with a standard menu. I ordered two vanilla lattes - one hot, and the other iced with oat milk. Unfortunately, I think my order was misheard as my iced oat latte was missing the vanilla. - Vanilla Latte: Fine. My partner typically orders this everywhere and he said it was fine, but nothing standout. 3/5 - Iced Oat Latte: Already mentioned it was missing the vanilla I asked for, so I'll discuss the other elements. They use a darker roast - thus, making it more susceptible to a bitter taste. That, and I believe an over-extraction or a longer pull made the coffee quite bitter. They also served it in the same cup as the hot coffee. My main issue with this is that I'm a slower coffee drinker, and thus my cup began disintegrating as time passed. Their cups aren't constructed to uphold iced coffee well. 2/5 It was such a prime location nearby the USPS and is sat in a great historic area. Handlebars has great staff, who clearly enjoy their jobs, and have a great community surrounding it. It's sad that their coffee is subpar. Strongly recommend you order your coffee hot, to drink in-store, or just avoid.

And this lovely cafe can get really busy. This is also the caje cafe where I tried their hot cocoa for the first time and aclaim it to be one of THE BEST HOT COCOAS EVER!!! It is really easy to swoon over the magical drink choices here, and not get something so plain like a coffee or cocoa. But everything caje does is excellent. And, wow, this is rich, pure, wonderful hot cocoa. Get with their house made almond milk. It is very low sugar and made with excellent quality chocolate, so actually close to a medicinal drink. Tip: For hot drinks here always ask for extra hot. Sit outside in their parked courtyard. Comfy seats perfect for people watching, reading, and friend chats. A few charming seats inside too.
