Good coffee shop w/ cool merch. Had a vanilla latte which was pretty decent. The only disappointment about this place was their baked goods/food isn't made in house. The pastries were from a bakery in Los Angeles, which tells me that they were either frozen or at best day old either way they weren't freshly baked. I had a burrito which the girl mentioned it was from a local place nearby and it was a huge disappointment. With that said I recommend just trying the coffee there. read more

Stumbled on to this place by sheer luck. For once I didn't look at Yelp for any advice or reviews, I just happened to be in the area and decided to try it out and I was glad I did. This shop has a great atmosphere and the staff is very friendly, but I think most importantly, the espresso was great! Maybe not as good as Beacon here in Ventura but still very good. The only downfall is that I am not sure when I'll be able to come back since it is all the way up in Goleta but I will for sure keep it bookmarked for next time I am in the area. read more

I saw on Instagram that Dune had a new strawberry matcha latte for the summer. It inspired me to swing by the Dune Coffee on Calle Real and give it a try! I arrived around 1pm on a weekday so naturally there wasn't too much foot traffic. When I went up to order, I noticed the display case full of some yummy pastries. I asked the cashier about the pastries inside and decided to try a cinnamon roll. After ordering, I took a seat at a little table. There was a lot of nice seating options! My warmed up pastry arrived followed by the strawberry matcha latte. I dug in right away. The pastry was sweet and cinnamony. It had a night lightness yet thickness to it that was really good. My only criticism was that the base of the roll might've been a tad greasy, but not horribly so. The matcha latte was yummy! It was sweet, milky, and had a hint of matcha. I admittedly couldn't taste the matcha much over the sweet strawberry milk but it was definitely still there. Overall, I had a really nice time at Dune Coffee. I had an event in the neighborhood so was looking for a quick drink to wake me up. This coffee shop was in the area so stopped in. Shop is located on the end of a strip mall by a Chinese restaurant. Plenty of parking right out front. Drink offerings are pretty standard. A couple of unique offerings are provide in the shop: including a drink with tonic? I ordered a matcha that was good but nothing special. Although the swan decor on top of my drink was super cute! I think the thing to get here is a coffee drinks as they feature their own coffee. The environment is pretty minimalist inside. As minimal furnishings, the shop is bit loud. And it was loud with not many people inside. Not really a shop that you would want to lounge in all day, especially as I don't think they offer internet unless it was just locked down. Also a cup of seats out front. Love Dune coffee roasters and was super happy to discover their Goleta location. A coffee is delicious, the service, friendly and fast... the dining area is comfortable and roomy, I was able to get a little bit of work done while enjoying my morning coffee. Read some great reviews about this place but my experience was underwhelming. Got a small iced latte which cost $5.98 (I think that's a bit on the pricier side). The latte itself was okay but I have had better! The espresso didn't come through and had a strange after-taste. The barista also put too much ice in it. Stopped at dune for my last coffee run of our Santa Barbara trip! It was super close to our hotel so I took a walk here and it is so cute! I love how big the space is and the art on the walls is so fun. My husband got a mocha with extra espresso. Usually he goes for a caramel latte but they don't have caramel. I got an iced vanilla latte, decaf with oat milk though they did have a couple seasonal drinks that sounded good. The mocha was beautiful with the latte art. My vanilla latte was really good too! I'm currently sitting inside here doing some work. They opened right at 7:00 am which was nice. The baristas are super sweet and the place is relatively quiet which is very conducive to getting work done. I got an herbal and a cappuccino...both of which were spectacular. While everyone in here is nice, friendly, and helpful...this is my third time and my coffee has just been mediocre and also lukewarm. I've gotten a mocha each time, just in case the previous time was an error. Each time was made by a different barista. The last time I ordered a cinnamon roll to try and it was bland and pretty dry. Updated review. While i absolutely love Dune, this location has disappointed me more than a few times in the same way. My vanilla oat latte has come without the vanilla (or at least not enough to taste it). I frequent other locations plenty so I'm aware of the expectations of their drinks. I also knocked another star off because I've never been to a coffee shop that doesn't remake a wrong coffee order. The baristas squirt the vanilla syrup in my drink and send me on my way. I am surprised that for $9 it is one piece of bread, but handmade bread served warm. The presentation is average. The taste is good! I am happy to see a new coffee shop in the shopping center with the bowling alley. As another reviewer highlighted, this is not exactly an ideal study space for students- no outlets and the tables are not sturdy. This is a good place to stop by for a cuppa coffee. The aspect of this location that I love: the artwork! Hand painted and eclectic- it's an automatic eye-catcher. The staff are all kind, friendly and welcoming. The Dunes are consistently the best coffee shops in the SB area. In terms of atmosphere (great for studying or having a casual conversation) and attention to product quality (baristas are, in my experience, consistently the best trained in SB), it is a reliable spot for excellent coffee. I get a cappuccino here about 4-5 days a week, and no matter who is making it for me, the result is the same -- perfect third-wave style milk foam with a tender softness that is just a bit thicker than a regular latte. read more

So sorry to report that we had a sub, sub par experience at Dune Coffee Roasters today on Calle Real in Goleta. We ordered a burrito (egg and bacon) which they said was delivered by a third party in Santa Barbara. It was large, but it was terrible tasting. Doughy, no bacon, some old beans, and rather tasteless and heavy. We will say it was large, and large enough for two IF you wanted to eat it. The coffee was completely watery and not good and, it's hard to miss on a blueberry muffin, but this one did. All of the products were second and third rate. We will, however, give an A plus for the women working the counter. They were helpful, cordial and pleasant and refunded us our $ for the burrito which was expensive! For what it cost, Handlebar is light years better in terms of quality, ambiance. Sorry, we won't be back here or to any of the other Dunes. read more

This is such a nice cafe in Goleta with great service! They're very nice and I love their Hot Chocolate! They also offer some pastries and a variety of toasts.
