Located in the Collection so there is plenty of parking. We came on a weekday so it wasn't as crowded and only a short wait. Upon arrival we were greeted by a welcoming hostess. A good sized space with outdoor seating that loops around one corner. Once seated the waitress came by shortly to get our drink order however it took a little while to get our food order in though. We got the Breakfast charcuterie, Focaccia Chicken Sandwich, Smoked salmon eggs Benedict and Basque cheesecake. All were delicious! At the end of the meal we also got a complimentary pizzelle cookie. Loved the decor and ambiance, the flags and art gave a very European feel. Service was mostly good, our waitress was friendly and checked on us regularly. They have a location in Ventura as well, so I will try that location next time.

Service was great and it's a cute spot for brunch/ cafe feel. My friend enjoyed the trip cannoli and we both really loved the rigatoni pasta.

I was drawn to try Immigrant Son Cafe because of their unique and creative brunch menu offerings, and overall it was a very enjoyable first visit. From the moment we walked in, the host set a wonderful tone for the experience. He was incredibly personable, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. As first-time guests, it was refreshing to be greeted so warmly and made to feel right at home. Between my partner and me, we ordered the deviled eggs, whipped burrata with focaccia, green juice, and avocado toast. My partner also started with a cortado coffee, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The standout dish for me was definitely the whipped burrata with focaccia. The bread was served warm, tasted incredibly fresh, and paired perfectly with the creamy burrata. It was simple but absolutely delicious. My partner enjoyed his avocado toast overall, although he mentioned that the bread was a bit thick and hard, making it somewhat difficult to eat comfortably. Unfortunately, the biggest miss for both of us was the deviled eggs. They didn't taste particularly fresh and had an oddly unpleasant flavor. One of my favorite parts of the visit came at the very end when our server surprised us with complimentary pizzelle cookies. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and its small hospitality touches like that which leave a lasting impression and make guests like us feel genuinely cared for. While not every dish was a hit, the warm service, welcoming atmosphere, and unique menu made this a place I'd happily return to. I'm honestly sad I don't live closer because I'd love to come back and continue exploring more of their brunch offerings.

Located in the Collection, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Immigrant Son Caffe. From the moment we walked up to the hostess stand, we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff. The menu had a nice selection of primarily savory options that made it hard to narrow down as everything sounded so good. Ultimately, I ended up going with the "Caffe Breakfast" ($19) which came with 2 eggs, my choice of bacon and season potatoes, along with a slice of ciabatta. Everything was delicious, but my favorite item on the plate actually ended up being their house made berry jam. It was so good paired with their perfectly crusty ciabatta bread! We also ordered the "Breakfast Charcuterie" as an appetizer which was beautifully plated. I loved the toasted focaccia and it was so fun getting to top your own bread with the sunny side up egg, creamy cheese options, fresh avocado, smoked salmon, pickled red onions, calabrian chili crunch, and pickled pistachios. While I didn't get to try their toasts, our table also ordered their "Salmon Avocado Toast" ($19) and their "Avocado Pomodoro Toast" ($18). Each dish was so aesthetically pleasing. I only wish the portions were a little bigger as everything felt on a bit on the smaller side and we all left still feeling like we could have eaten more. Nevertheless, we still enjoyed the food and our experience at Immigrant Son Caffe. The restaurant was clean and inviting, the wait staff was friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious. If you're not an early riser, be prepared to wait though. When we arrived closer to 8:45am on a holiday weekday, we were able to get seated right away and there were only a few tables occupied. However, when we left closer to 9:45am, there was already a line formed outside that wrapped around the side of the building.

Service top Quality! I was excited to come here, my family and I have been searching for. Good place to eat, ever since I hop has went down hill. We very pleased, let me start off by telling you the service was excellent, very friendly and welcoming. The coffee amazing! The food was flavorful! There is nothing negative I can say about this place and I can't wait to come back again' to try something we didn't get a chance to order!

Really pretty and unique café I absolutely loved all the flag decor throughout the space--it's one of the first things you notice when you walk in and it gives the place such a fun vibe. Everyone was super welcoming, from the host to our waiter, which made the experience even better. They also have a coffee bar where you can just walk in and grab a drink without waiting, which is a huge plus. We came for brunch/breakfast, and while everything was good, I did notice they lean more toward brunch options rather than a wide variety of breakfast items. I started with my usual sugar-free vanilla oat latte, and it was sooo good--perfectly creamy and not too sweet, just how I like it. For food, I ordered the chicken parm panini with a side salad, and it did not disappoint. The bread was a little overwhelming, so I took some off, but overall it was still really good. We also tried the chicken and waffles--personally not my thing, but my boyfriend said it was just okay. They also didn't have ranch for the fried chicken, which was a bit of a downside. Service was amazing--Brandon was super accommodating, friendly, and answered all of our questions. Overall, such a great experience! I'd definitely come back with my girls for mimosas

Came here after a friend of mine recommended this restaurant to me. I love Italian food, especially authentic Italian food, so I was excited to try it. I was surprised to see that it was quite busy for the middle of the day on a Monday. But even though it was busy, we were seated right away. The restaurant is pretty, with different flags hanging all around. I like how bright and spacious it is. I don't like to sit too close to other people I don't know while I eat. One of the waitresses noticed that the sun was hitting me, so she asked me if I wanted her to lower the blinds, which was nice of her. After going through the menu, I decided to order their spaghetti and meatballs that they serve in a bread bowl! I had never heard of that before. The meatballs were hand-made and freshly made. The pasta was also cooked to perfection. My husband ordered their carbonara, and I have to say we both knew that their bacon had to be imported because it tasted just like the bacon we had in our recent trip to Italy. Very delicious and authentic food.

I came here for my birthday for brunch on a Sunday. First of all the wait staff was incredibly on top of things and very welcoming. The food was top tier. I got the Aunt Anna eggs Benedict. I love that there were red potatoes and I appreciate that the fruit served with it was really fresh and something I enjoyed versus frozen melons served at other cafes. You know I had to try the cafe de Olla latte. It was perfection! They also give me a birthday tiramisu that I took to-go. Thank you!

Not my order. Sent it back.

Sat quickly though the water glass didn't match my lip gloss. Wrong eggs Benedict served. When I did get the right one.....Salmon with Capers , slim on the salmon, hardly a caper or a red onion. It fell flat.

Great place for brunch with unique and delicious brunch entrees and a good selection of familiar ones as well. Highly recommended the breakfast lasagna and chicken w waffles... I've not had a lasagna like this breakfast version and it was delicious, and the Belgian waffle was quite tasty and the perfectly prepped fried chicken pieces went well with the syrup and spicy butter. This place has large portions, friendly and attentive wait staff, lots of seating and free parking. This is our new Oxnard go to for brunch now!

We stopped by for a quick lunch on a Friday afternoon on the way to SLO. We found street parking. We shared a breakfast lasagna. It was very good. To drink my husband had the espresso martini (it is heavy on the espresso) and I had the empress gin spritz. Both good cocktails. Service was friendly and attentive. Cortni was our server and she was lovely. The restaurant was very warm and inviting.

A Must-Visit Family Gem at The Collection! We had a wonderful breakfast at Immigrant Cafe. Despite the house being packed, the service was excellent--attentive and seamless. It's clear why there is so much positive word-of-mouth surrounding this family-owned local eatery. The atmosphere is beautiful; it features a fresh, contemporary aesthetic that feels upscale without being overstated. The Food: * Eggs Benedict: Perfectly executed and very tasty. * Giovanni Omelette: A meat-lover's dream! Loaded with savory prosciutto and pancetta. * Buttermilk Pancakes: Topped with strawberries and Nutella, these were a massive hit with my daughter. The drinks were a highlight, and the pricing is very fair for the quality and location. Buen provecho!

We expect a certain standard, a level of care that borders on obsession. So when I catch Evan Williams--respectable, questionable, but barely twelve bucks a bottle--making an appearance behind the bar, it feels like a breach of trust. A quiet betrayal under low lighting. The illusion only works if the details hold up under scrutiny... and that pour? It broke the spell. And then comes the real offense: discovering that your Old Fashioned--the crown jewel of any respectable cocktail program--are built on bottom-shelf, dust-collecting bourbon. That's not just a letdown, it's a slap in the face. A cocktail like that deserves reverence, not shortcuts. And as if to twist the knife, there it was--a massive can of red maraschino cherries sitting shamelessly atop the bar, like some relic from a dive that's given up on finesse. It wasn't just a misstep. It was disrespect. In a place claiming the speakeasy mantle, details like these matter. They're the difference between theater and parody. The cocktails did not warrant the $15 price tag. Moreover, I would have paid more had I know the class of bourbon upfront. What ultimately redeems the space is its ambiance. The low flicker of the fireplace, the soft embrace of worn leather sofas, the curated hum of music floating just above conversation--it's seductive, even soulful. The room itself is small, intimate--the kind of place where you're bound to recognize a face, or at the very least, feel inclined to invite a stranger to share the sofa and maybe a story. And then there's the setting--tucked beneath a historic relic, a basement bar built into the bones of old Americana. The building dates back to the early 1900s, echoing with a past that deserves to be honored, not phoned in. That's exactly why I expected more from the cocktails. A place with this much atmosphere shouldn't fall flat when it comes to what's in the glass. It's a mismatch--a beautiful stage, but a script that doesn't quite rise to meet it.

We came here to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. We each ordered a cocktail. She got a blueberry margarita and I got a cucumber gin mixed drink. Both were refreshing and delicious. We ended up ordering another round. For appetizers we ordered the crispy maple Brussels and tuna & salmon tartare. The Brussels were fried to perfection and glazed a sweet maple syrup. It also came with thick cuts of bacon. Definitely recommend this. For the tartare, it was also delicious and fresh. It was mixed with avocado and turnip. We thought the turnip would be off putting but it actually meshed well with the flavors. Came with fried wonton chips. For the main course we shared the NY strip and Lobster Malfaldine. The steak was cooked to perfection with a very nice sear and flavored well. Probably one of the better steaks I've ever had. Definitely beats out any steakhouse steak. The Lobster Malfaldine was also absolutely delicious. Most of the time, lobster pasta is usually a bit bland and lacking in lobster. NOT HERE. They included big chunks of lobster and the sauce was so good. Lastly, we ended our dinner with the Strawberry Hand Pie. This is basically a warm strawberry strudel with vanilla bean ice cream. They used locally sourced strawberries and I'm still thinking about it as I'm writing this review. Adrienne was our server and she was very nice and attentive. Since it was my girlfriend's birthday, they comped our dessert. Super nice staff!

It was only a dollar on each (5 ) of our bills but they should have told us. Many Mexican restaurants provide them as a complimentary appetizer, so it would have been nice if the server had let us know beforehand. The biggest issue, however, was the service. One person in our party never received his meal. We had to ask about it, and we were simply told, "It's coming," with no explanation or apology. We ended up waiting so we could all eat together, so my soup was cold and I ended up not eating it and had to take it home. When the bill came, I asked what had happened. I was hoping the server would apologize or at least explain the delay. Instead, she didn't really answer my question. Only after I commented that they must have forgotten it, server said his meal had burned and the kitchen had to remake it. It would have been much better if she had communicated that to us from the beginning instead of leaving us wondering what was going on. Throughout the meal, the server rarely checked on our table to see if we needed anything or if everything was okay. Given the long delay and lack of communication, I also think it would have been a nice gesture to either comp the delayed meal or at least remove the charge for the chips and salsa. And normally we would tip less but she added the tip to the bill Unfortunately, what should have been an enjoyable dinner with friends turned into a frustrating experience because of the lack of communication and customer service.

Last December, a friend came across The Cave while looking for a place to have lunch in Ventura and…read moresuggested we give it a try. I'm really glad he did because it's the kind of place I probably wouldn't have found on my own. The first thing that caught our attention was the self-serve wine dispensers lined with bottles ready to sample. We had a lot of fun walking back and forth, looking over the different selections, and deciding what to taste next. Being able to sample wines by the ounce before committing to a full glass made the whole experience feel interactive. I especially liked that I could compare different Cabernet Sauvignons side by side, which isn't something you get to do very often. After trying a few different Cabernets, Chimney Rock ended up being my favorite. The dining room added to the experience. The cave-like ceilings, warm lighting, and comfortably spaced tables made it easy to settle in, enjoy our lunch, and catch up without feeling cramped or rushed. If you enjoy trying different wines, it's easy to lose track of time here. We started with a cheese plate, which turned out to be much more generous than I expected. It came with a nice assortment of cheeses, crisp apple slices, grapes, candied walnuts, crostini, and a savory relish on the side. It was a great dish to share with our wine. My friend ordered the tuna poke tower, and we shared the cheese flatbread and sweet potato fries. I went with the Original Cave Salad with salmon, which came with a generous piece of perfectly cooked salmon over fresh greens, apples, grapes, walnuts, and blue cheese. Everything tasted fresh, and the portions were generous enough that we left completely satisfied. One thing I appreciated was that we never felt rushed. Lunch naturally turned into an afternoon of catching up, comparing notes on the different wines, and deciding which pours we wanted to try next. Before we left, we wandered through the wine shop one more time. If you discover a favorite during lunch, you can pick up a bottle before heading home, which is a nice touch. I'm really glad my friend found this place. The next time I'm in Ventura, it'll definitely be on my list again.

Had a baby shower scheduled on a Saturday and left completely disappointed. Firstly, we scheduled…read morethis event and paid a deposit well over 6 weeks ago. The day before, the owner Michele couldn't seem to find the paperwork where we discussed menu, family style, decor, budget etc. Thankfully, we went in the day before to double check everything. Not only were we met with a misogynistic retort to everything we talked about but he did not clarify any details that we later found out would be important. The day of the event, we accidentally hit a bottle of wine bringing in the decorations. Total accident! During the party, we had to constantly find our server (super nice guy but terrible service) to take drink orders, to take food orders, and to clear the table and bring to go boxes. Drinks weren't refilled. We cut and served the cake we brought. Then our bill comes and surprising to us, we were charged a room fee (which I confirmed they DID NOT have prior to booking), charged a cake fee (just for them to store it in their fridge and NEVER told there would be a fee for bringing a dessert, despite Michele asking the day before if we were bringing our own or using them for dessert), and he charged us $50 for the bottle we accidentally broke. With all these extra charges, in addition to already paying a deposit, we were way over the previously discussed budget. I never would have agreed to his idea of everyone ordering individual dishes instead of family style plus his outrageous extra fees had I know it was going to blow the budget. He had every opportunity to tell us there is a cake fee (never have I EVER had to pay a fee to bring a cake- even our server said he felt it was in poor taste to charge us for that). We refused to pay the room fee because we already put down a deposit and were never told there would be these extraneous charges! The terrible ending happened when I slipped and fell (8 months pregnant) in the front of the restaurant RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE OWNER, who stood over me as I was on the ground, and said "you must have slipped on the wine you spilled." Never offered concern, never offered to help me and never apologized. A staff member from the kitchen ran out to help me despite Michel being an arms length from me, looking down on me. Such a disgrace. My dress was dirtied from their floor and I was left with bruises on my knees the next day. No wet floor sign, clearly the floor wasn't cleaned up properly or dried. We will never patronize this restaurant again. What was meant to be a beautiful event turned into a calamity met with a chauvinist owner who lacks customer service and compassion.

First time here, came on Saturday to see one of my favorite comedians, Russell Peters…read more At the entrance, present your ticket to be scanned, if you had a VIP ticket you got a wrist band. After walking in go toward the stage and there will be staff to take you to your seat. I got VIP tickets so was seated at the front. Soon after being seated, a server came to take my order. There is a two item minimum per person. I got the watermelon margarita, lemon pepper boneless chicken, and peach paradise sangria. Service was mostly good. My server came by regularly. The only minor issue I had was having to ask for utensils and water twice. It seems the server who takes the order is different from the ones that serve the food/drink. You are not allowed to use your phone during the show so be sure to put it away and on silent. The opening acts were good. Russell Peters was very funny as usual. All in all it was a fun laughter filled evening.

Thank you Levity Live management for ruining our evening…read more Unfortunately, today would be the last time that my family will ever visit Levity Live in Oxnard. Additionally, we will stop recommending this venue to any of our friend in the forceeable future. We have discovered Levity Live back in January. My wife was scouring Facebook and found tickets for Gabriel Iglecias. We love Fluffy. Bought tickets for herself, me and our 15yo son. We have went to the concert, walked through front door, no id was asked, and enjoyed our time. Even got a private time with Fluffy after the concert. Have pictures to prove it. Second time just about a week ago went to see Phil Medina and other comedians. Same story three tickets, no id asked for. Also have pictures of our son and Phil after the concert in front of the venue. --- And this brings us to today. Found rare tickets for Nurse John. Again. Got three tickets. Nowhere on the tickets or on the platform where we got them from was an age restriction. Went to the venue early to get better seats. At the door we are stopped and prompted for id's. We have asked why? Club is now 21 and over, new policy. We have asked if we would be allowed in with the minor as our responsibility, and were told that it si up to the floor manager to decide. Few minutes later floor manager appears; Unfortunately we can not let you in, I have called higher management and they have denied the entry. My wife had asked for a refund or a equal value credit. While pointing out that this is not a first time we would bring our underage son to this venue. Managers response was shoking: Even though you have managed to sneak your son in in the past. We can not allow him in and we can not give you a refund. --- We were just accused in SNEAKING our son in in front of other people. Is this professional? -- All of a sudden a security guard appears next to us. Not doing anything just watching. My wife had suggested to continue conversation outside so, we don't interfere with other ticket holders whom, btw are not asked for their ids. Outside we are now accompanied by two security officers. The manager is not offering any logical solutions to the situation, just repeating herself about offering us a venue credit and denying the refund. Conversation lasts for few minuets and all of a sudden a third security guard appears: a woman. Judging by her demeanor, could be a supervisor. We are now surrounded by three security guard. My wife is 5'2. Are they afraid she would go hand to hand with them? Conversation continues but now it is accompanied by extremely rude remarks from a female security guard aimed at my wife, to a point that I had to point that out, just to be dismissed. We are now offered a business card that we would have to use to call and supposedly reveive some comp tickets. we are agreeing since there is no point in dragging the conversation further. Clearly manager has absolutely no interest in resolving the situation but trying to dismiss it and get rid of us as quickly as possible. Both the manager and female security gueard leave to fetch a business card. Few minutes later only female security guard appears and tosses us a business card, with extremely sarcastic: here you are have a nice day, comment. My wife picks the card and while we are turning to leave, all of a sudden I hear: "what about f...g b..ch" coming from the female guard. I turn around and ask one of the male security guards about a name of that person just to be server with a response: don't worry about it. ---- During his performance Phil Medina had announced that this was his last concert at Levity Live due to some "changes" Apparently these changes effect not just performers but the audience as well. It is also apparent that management has no interest in taking care of their customers if customer service is non existent. . We loved going to Levity Live. We loved the food, the atmosphere, and the performes, but all this is in the past now thankful to people in charge of keeping customers happy but having no interest and possibly experience of doing so.
