Went in to order a quick lunch. After ordering and receiving our food we decided to sit outside (indoor dining is not available because of Covid) and eat our food while it was warm. Others were also sitting on the outside patio tables while waiting for their food or their meals. A couple of minutes after we were already eating our meal, a lady who works inside the restaurant comes out and RUDELY tells my boyfriend and me that the outside tables were for DINE IN customers only. When we went in to place our orders we were never asked if it was for dine in or take out. They simply just took our orders down and told us to wait outside until our number when our food was ready. They had signs posted outside that no OUTSIDE food or drinks were allowed but didn't specify that when ordering you aren't allowed to eat outside unless you ask to be considered a DINE-IN customer. My boyfriend spent $20 just to be told in front of other customers that we weren't allowed to eat on the patio although we were only eating food from their restaurant that we had just bought. read more

This was a second chance...Our server was great...everything else...not so much...see heres the story, we got here at 12:45...lunch rush totally understand but we were seated immediately...10minutes later...a couple walks in and is also seated immediately. They order drinks and sushi...on 2 occasions our server checked on us...its now 1:25pm the other couple paid and left and our food isn't here...we are leaving unhappy, hungry and craving sushi. This is our favorite place for sushi in Oxnard. You won't find anything better in the area. The sushi here is fresh and so delicious. We love the baked mussels for our appetizer and then follow up with our favorite rolls. Must try the Oh my God Roll, Rainbow Roll, Hungry Roll or the Rose Flower. The customer service is the best and they are always so attentive. Geraldo is absolutely amazing. We are always so thrilled when we return and see that he is working because he knows the menu and puts his customers first and has a big smile every single day, even when it's busy. The sushi chefs, John, Don and Roger have an extreme talent that we admire. We always sit at the sushi bar to watch them make the rolls and it's amazing to see how they make the rolls and the generous amounts of sushi they serve. The owners are always there and treat their customers with respect and gratitude. This is a hidden gem in Oxnard and it's right in the middle of a shopping area near Walmart and Vons. Poor customer service! Placed an online order and it said my order would be ready in 15 mins. Got there 20 mins after placing my order. Went in and paid and was told it would be ready in a few mins. 30 mins later and still nothing. Came in with my mom on Sunday. Glad to see the place busy. Lots of options, I got a sweetened tea and mom got an unsweetened tea. Hers was 2.50 my "soft drink" was 1.99. Just odd billing. The food was average. No bad but didn't feel there was much pride taken with the food. I orders tempura and the spicy sesame chicken. When my order arrived the tempura was hot and crisp, but the chicken cold. The salad on the plate was fresh and green yet swimming in water and way to big to manage with chopsticks. More care need to be taken with the size. The environment was pleasant and busy, the servers were trying their best to manage. I should have listened to the review! The food was okay, the Sushi was tasty for sure and that is now what I'm reviewing this Restaurant about. I'm reviewing it for its hygiene. The Hispanic gentlemen who collects the dishes and brings the food is why I'm writing this review. He obviously doesn't know who the glove is protecting, it's for the customer, not for you. He kept his glove on as I watch him handle the dirty dishes, wiping a few times on his shirt. I literally lost it after he goes to the restroom and comes out with the same gloves (there's no place get a new glove in the restroom). The food here was okay. The miso soup was pretty bland. I order the Korean BBQ and the taste was wonderful but the meat was a bit fatty. The California roll that came with the meal was falling apart, some pieces were not even connected! My husband on the other hand really enjoyed his roll. This place is the last place to go if you're looking for quality sushi. It's lacking that authenticity of a real sushi spot. Once you walk in you're doubting yourself and are thinking to yourself turn around, turn around! If anything check out Kabuki on Victoria Blvd, hands down they have the best quality of sushi in Ventura County. In my opinion the atmosphere is very Japanese oriented. I would rate Kabuki sushi in the top 3 sushi places here. Well anyways back to the topic of Oh sushi or whatever it is called now. The last time I went here to eat with the wife their sushi's were lacking in the amount of proportion of fish and were mainly filled with more rice than seafood. The ratio is like 80/20 and all rice with no meat. If anything, just go here for the beer but that's all. I got the Baked Scallop Roll and the only good part was the California roll. The baked scallop seemed old and dry to me. As if pre-made and the sauce on top was "baked" to the extreme to where the sauce kind of burnt and hardened. Scallops are usually plump and soft where as the ones I ate today didn't even seen chewy from being over cooked but dry as if cooked a hours ago to maybe even a day ago. I had not tried this place before and I really love sushi. I walked in and the first thing I see is the waitress is eating at the sushi bar. The smell of McDonald's as she had a bag of food from there. I was waiting for someone to say hello or ask me ware I wish to sit. No one even acknowledged that I had even walked in. At that point I should have walked out. I sat down at the bar, it was sticky and all I could smell was hamburgers. I was told it's only take out or I could eat here but have to order it now and not later. it was 9:14 pm and I was told no more orders after 9:30 pm. I was starved so I ordered a roll and sushi. I waited almost 30 minutes for my food. The roll was very salty with salmon on top. The salmon was cut so thin you could see thru it. I can say that I never leave food on my plate at a sushi place because I love it so much and the cost is up their so, I never leave sushi behind. I guess their is a first time for everything. The owner is really cute. You can tell he actually cares for his customers. I remember two of my friends said they were going to split a california roll and he told them he'd give them an extra order because we reminded him of his kids. I guess his kids were cheap too? We have been going here for years. I found a sushi roll I absolutely love and enjoyed ordering every visit. I've tried others but it was still my go to. My son loved the orange chicken. But now it's no longer an entree it can only be ordered as a side. My son is very disappointed and quit ordering it. we have watch watched our favorite things decline. My Roseflower originally came with Caipers on top which gave it just a bit of a salty taste. they took it away. it didn't taste the same but I still liked it just disappointed. then it got smaller, today all I tasted was avocado because they took everything out of the middle and just mashed it full of avocado. that's all I tasted avocado. today was our last day. We will find somewhere else to go. they started adding a tip to your purchase. they don't tell you so if you don't look you won't know. Today my bill didn't even list anything I bought but I can tell from the total they still added a tip. very shady. and lastly what Asain restaurant plays Mexican music? ruins the whole atmosphere. Oh! Sushi is just amazing! Whenever my friends and family come to Oh! Sushi we are always surprised by the friendly service and good food. We always order drinks since they have unlimited refills and ask for the paper coin things (they put water on these tablets and they turn in to towelettes). Last time, my friends and I went, we had chicken yakisoba, volcano roll, calamari tempura, BBQ short ribs, and albacore delight roll. The chicken yakisoba was just right, it wasn't drenched in its sauce. The volcano and the albacore delight roll were so yummy. The calamari tempura was crunchy and hot. The BBQ ribs were cooked well and were absolutely delicious. Oh! and the dishes were beautiful with a orchid flower on each dish. And for dessert we had the tempura ice cream~ creamy and the presentation was also just beautiful. Definitely coming back here again. read more

This place is very knock off and off brand they say they serve ramen but it's really cheap ass ramen noodle packets you can make at home from wal mart basically college student ramen lol today I was craving ramen and waited on this cheap ass ramen for 30 min + haven't been checked on or even asked if we have received our meal the more I right this the more stars I want to take away. I've been to oh sushi many times before and their staff keeps changing, I used to love eating there. However, the last time I was there, I had some sashimi and the color of the fish didn't look fresh but I thought nothing of it, I mean, come on, I've been there so many times. On the way home, I actually got really sick and started throwing up and had a really high fever. I ended up in the hospital, I didn't think it was from the restaurant but the diagnosis said it was something I had recently eaten and the only thing I had that night was, sad to say, the sushi. I don't recommend going to oh sushi. The change in staff has considerably diminished the quality of the restaurant and the food. Unless you want to get sick from their "fresh" sushi or get treated horribly by the staff, (for me it was a woman named Yuri). I would recommend you stay far away.
