I've now had so much Oceano sushi that I can't count them all. We always get take out now and Oceano is so close and yummy that it's a no brainer. We're now loyal customers that they've added a little something each time we've ordered. It's a surprise every time and so greatly appreciated. I'm a little boring, I get spicy yellowtail handrolls all the time and because everyone knows that handrolls taste the best while the seaweed is still crispy, they always make an effort to make it right before we pick it up so I can gobble it up as soon as possible. I heart Oceano. Staff is fantastic and their rolls are so fresh. This is by far our favorite sushi place around. We literally frequent this place every week to ten days. It can get a little noisy if there is a large table since the dining room is kind of cozy. There's also a nice bar area where you can watch the sushi chefs and their gorgeous creations. Came here for the second time today and didn't have a very great experience. We were seated immediately and I ordered a Sapporo and my friend ordered a Sprite. He also ordered a spicy tuna roll before we really started looking through the menu. When I got my beer, it was extremely flat. Probably the grossest Sapporo I've ever had before. I asked for a Diet Coke and told him that I would really rather not have a very large flat beer and he kind of questioned me at first but replaced it. I ordered the egg rolls, the yasai veggie noodles, and a California roll. The noodles normally come spicy but the first time I had been here, I chose the spiciest option they had available and it was great, the guy asked if I was sure and I said yes, I can handle very spicy (which they were previously extremely spicy but VERY tasty). My friend ordered a couple other rolls. We got the egg rolls which were soooo good and crispy. And the sauce had an awesome flavor. 10/10 would order again. My friend's drink was replaced with a water, so I did have to ask for a Sprite refill instead. The girl was very apologetic and nice. Our food came and we got the boat. He said mine was a spicy California roll. I only ordered a regular one but figured "whatever, I would rather not be a pain and complain." The roll had a toooon of mayo in it though which changed the texture of the roll. I had about a piece and decided to eat my noodles. I tried a few bites, and instantly my mouth was on fire. Not in a good way. I'm used to extremely spicy foods, this was inedible. I couldn't taste the flavors whatsoever like I did before the last time I was there. I had to eat more of the California roll to cool down my mouth which didn't help. My friend had a piece and even agreed there was way too much mayo in the roll. His specialty roll and unagi was excellent though. A girl came over and asked if anything was wrong and I said no, but the second time she came over I couldn't help it. I was very frustrated and really wanted the noodle dish. I told her I was upset as I KNOW I had ordered extra spicy previously, and it was extremely hot to where my mouth was on fire and my nostrils cleared up immediately, but it was nothing like what I got today. It was literally inedible and quite disgusting. I also told her about the roll and it normally wouldn't have been as big of a deal but the krab was just overloaded in mayo. I told her I ate it so I wasn't worried about it. She apologized and our waiter came back over. He said "well you ordered extra spicy." AKA I told you. I was trying to be as polite as possible but that just pissed me off. I told him again, that I had PREVIOUSLY ordered the exact same dish, the exact same way, and it was nothing like this. There's an indicator on the menu and I pointed To the hottest one. There should be a level of consistency with spicy food. He apologized and we got separate checks. I could tell he was annoyed with me, but it really did get frustrating to know I was about to pay probably $50 at least for a meal when almost everything really was not ok. When I got the check he only charged for the Diet Coke and the egg rolls. I tipped at least 20% (probably more) of what the check would have been. I really did appreciate the charges being taken off, but the attitude he was trying to hide was definitely coming through. Presentation here though, outstanding. The dishes were all very gorgeous. All of the other food was good, and my other experience the food was amazing. Only disadvantage was last time it took over 2 hours to be in and out, there were only two waiters. Today, service was pretty speedy. I rated a 3 because at this point I'm indifferent but IF I come back it will probably be a while from now . read more

I ate here the other day as I was passing through for work. I ordered the chicken fried rice dish. I was brought our complimentary edamame, and the fried rice was hands down the best I have ever had. I'm not sure what the difference was, but when and if I'm back up there again, I will pop back in. I was the first customer of the day, and was greeted warmly. My only complaint is that it smelled STRONGLY of bleach. I'm not interested in over smelling grease or food, but the smell over powered the restaurant. read more

By far our most FAVORITE sushi place. It's not easy to get to for us - takes us about 30 mins, but we love it enough to make the trip whenever it's sushi time. My husband and I were excited to try a new sushi place. We went off the recommendations from a local Facebook group and an acquaintance who had been here and said it was good. We arrived about 7:10 pm on last Saturday. Immediately when we walked in we were "confronted" by the hostess letting us know that there was a wait list and it'd be about 5 minutes. So I stood there stupidly waiting to put my name on a magical wait list that didn't exist. During our wait several people came in to get their take out orders so I was thinking well if it's good enough for take out then it must be good at the source. Another couple came in after we'd been waiting for 10 minutes and were told the wait would be about 10 minutes for them. At this point I start to get confused. I can hear one of the wait staff letting the hostess know that one table is just waiting on a check and another is clear for seating. However I could see when we walked in that the entire restaurant was only halfway full, and there was no one sitting at the sushi bar. Maybe they didn't have enough coverage, but for Saturday night this seems like a bad idea. Anyway we finally got seated around 7:40 (so 5 min was actually 30) and we're immediately welcomed by a waitress who gets our drinks. Another waitress brings our drinks to us and asks if we'll be ordering. I order the calamari for us while we are deciding on dinner. She brings out the calamari and I say to my husband, oh that literally looks like baby onion rings. Turns out it was the pre-formed calamari rings and not the usual kind you'd find at a sushi place with tentacles, etc. It tasted previously frozen and the dipping sauce was very sweet, too sweet for our tastes. We review the menu while eating our "calamari onion rings" and realize they don't have real crab, only "krab". I think that "krab" is sacrilege. I know some people enjoy it. I especially don't enjoy it when rolls that would be the same price or less elsewhere are made with imitation crab. And nearly every roll they offered has "krab" in it so finding rolls without us took a bit. We finally settled on the following: Scallop Nigiri, Salmon Nigiri, Fuego roll, Tiger roll, and Double rainbow roll. Our order came out about 15 minutes later and was delivered on a wooden boat type tray that I am not sure how they get completely clean due to the metal screws and nails in it. There was also a "display" on the port/bow(?) of the boat that had flowers, some fake reef looking thing, and carved cucumbers holding the ginger and Wasabi. The cucumbers were room temperature and looked reused. The scallop nigiri had some sort of sweet sauce on it. There was no warning about the sauce and it wasn't really visible until you could see the puddle of it after putting the piece in your mouth. The salmon nigiri was OK, but kind of warm. The rolls were as disappointing​ as the rest of the experience. They tasted mealy and the fish just didn't seem fresh at all. The rice was overcooked. The Tiger roll was actually warm due to the temperature of the rice they used for that specific roll. I speculate that they ran out of rice while making our rolls and didn't wait for the other rice to cool down enough before making the last roll. We didn't finish all of the rolls. For 1 appetizer, 2 nigiri, 3 rolls, and one soda the total came to over seventy bucks. There are other sushi restaurants in this area that are way better, and we will definitely be going to those restaurants instead of this one. When we got back to the car my husband said the ice water was the best part of his meal. I realize we accomplished our end goal of eating dinner and there are people starving to death all over the world. Usually I suck it up and don't complain, but life is too short to eat crappy sushi. read more

It is worth driving a few more minutes to go to a better restaurant. I sent a dish back and got yelled at and charged even though I did not eat the dish. On top of that , the food made me sick later. I did not want to stand at the counter and argue so i paid and got out of there as quickly as i could. We were here at 3pm on a Sunday and the place was closed. Called the listed phone number and it went to voicemail and didn't identify the number as being for the restaurant. We had a bad feeling after that and while looking for an alternate restaurant they turned on the OPEN sign, about 15 minutes after. Been pheening for sushi since i moved back to Washington and when it comes down to sushi, i can definitely put away plates so a normal pay by plate sushi joint wouldn't work for me...well, did a search and found this spot. After living in Vegas i got spoiled with all you can eat sushi and I have to say, i am very impressed by not only the quality of the fish but also the different type of fusion they got going in that place. My friends & I met here for sushi last night! One was from out of town & I knew Oceano Sushi was a newer restaurant I haven't tried yet. So I took us here in hopes it would become a new favorite spot. I LOVE sushi & have tried several places in the area - this hands down is the best!! Wonderful presentation, fresh sushi, & more importantly - fast & friendly service. The ambience of this place is beautiful with the dim lighting, decoration & upbeat music. We didn't realize they closed at 9 & felt bad that we just received our food before then. They told us not to rush & stay as long as we liked! I would highly recommend this restaurant! We had the Pink Lady, Macho Macho, Caterpillar & Spider Rolls. We couldn't pick a favorite because they all tasted so great!! Also, the white peach sake was AMAZING! read more

SERVICE: took minimum ten minutes from when we were seated just to get asked what we wanted to drink. Got exactly one glass of water, no refills. So when we ran out, that was it. PRICE: prices are on the high end of the sushi scene, including downtown. If the portions were generous, the food good, and the service attentive, that would make sense, but none of those were true, so their prices are way out of line with their value.
