We popped by wasabi factory for a quick lunch. It is a casual place with great food. We had the bento box with pork katsu, California rolls and spicy tuna rolls. Amazing! The ingredients were fresh and delicious. They also had nice veggie options including a veggie tempura roll, and avacado cucumber rolls. We spoke with the owner who recently moved to the the northwest from the Chicago area, where he has worked for decades in some of the finest sushi restaurants there. Food pretty good and service was quick. We got there right when they opened for dinner at 4p. So it was nice and empty for us which made our experience that much more pleasant. We got shrimp tempura and some really simple rolls. We ordered a vegetable roll, vegetable tempura roll, and a California roll. This has been my go-to sushi spot for years. The service is great super attentive. I always order their 2 roll special that runs around lunch time which is a good deal. Since it gets busy around lunch I would call in an order if you plan for take out. There are a variety of things on the menu including bento boxes, special rolls, and noodles. I used to love this place. My favorite was the crispy Alaskan which is a fried roll with raw salmon in it. But when I was served the roll the salmon was completely cooked and overly dry. My wife and I stopped in here for lunch. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Parking gets congested during lunch hour due to Boeing and other near-by businesses. Yelp states that a full bar is offered. That information is incorrect. Only beer, wine and sake are offered. My wife and I each ordered a small bottle of Sapporo for $5.75 each. It would have been nice to have also received an ice cold glass to pour our beers into. My wife chose the Chicken Teriyaki Combo for $8.95: chicken thighs, gyoza (qty 3) and a side salad. My wife always loves teriyaki so she was quite happy with her choice. I originally was going to order the Spicy Ramen for $9.50; however, when I was advised that the ramen was instant I changed my mind. Serving instant ramen, let alone charging $9.50 for instant ramen is horrible. I was then going to order the Chicken Yakisoba but was advised that chicken breast is not offered nor available here. I do not like dark meat so I had to settle for the Vegetable Yakisoba for $8.95. I requested my Yakisoba to be spicy and was up-charged $1.50 for "spicy". It would have been nice to have been told of this up-charge upfront rather than having the up-charge appear on my tab. My Yakisoba was tasty with lots of carrots, broccoli, cabbage and a few mushrooms. Our server was friendly enough although there was a bit of a language barrier. Overall, I'm glad we stopped in here for lunch. In the future we will not return for teriyaki or noodles. We may return to try some sushi. read more

I used to frequent Wasabi factory when I was living at home a few years ago. Now I wanted to go back and try it again as it's been a while. I remembered liking their Lion King and Volcano roll and I was craving sushi that was flame seared. I went to the place on a Friday night. It wasn't full or packed, probably a few people at the bar and another party of 2. Their menu changed a little bit but I was craving a volcano roll and a bento box. I think they are known for their boxes as they are relatively cheap compared to other Japanese restaurants and comes with a lot of food. They have a deluxe and a regular bento box, depending on how much sushi you want and if you want a side of gyoza. I ordered the regular bento box with spicy tuna roll (comes with 8 rolls) and chicken katsu. They have other options you can order with it such as teriyaki, pork katsu, sushi, tempura; etc. On top of picking two things, you get miso soup, salad, and 4 pieces of California roll. I also got a volcano roll to share, which is a California roll seared with spicy tuna on the top. From what I could remember a few years ago, the roll was similar. I enjoyed eating the sushi as it leaves a little bit of a burnt taste. I recommend this along with Lion King if you want seared salmon, and the katana roll which is a shrimp tempura roll wrapped with tempura. The karagee was also ordered to share - it wasn't super great as it wasn't as crispy. Staff was friendly and food overall was great. Bento box was great for its value and I left full and content. I hate the give three stars as the people were so nice, great service, friendly and do that alone I would want to give them more stars, but I have to rate predominately on the sushi. I am admittedly a sushi snob; it's what my fiends and family call me and having eaten more then my fair share of sushi in my life I have to accept the title. That being said, I am not a sushi expert, just a guy who eats a lot of sushi so I have a pretty broad comparison base. First, the nigiri cuts were very fresh and had great taste. However, the rice was surprisingly skimpy, especially considering this is the cheapest resource in the building. A few times I had to pick up the rice separately as it all fell apart and or stuck to the plate and separated from the sushi. I also personally like the smallest trace of wasabi rubbed on the rice prior to placing the sushi. But like I said, the cuts were generous and fresh. I feel like I can pretty much judge a place on its spicy tuna hand roll alone. This was... just fine. Not great, just fine. The wrap was great, very crispy and nicely rolled. The tuna was well below in temp of ideal serving range and that tends to mask the true flavor of the tuna. The two rolls I had were... fine. One I would never order again, Crispy Alaska Roll, as it essentially tasted like eating a loaf of bread. A very doughy taste lacking any real flavor. The Kamakazi roll was fine... just fine. All in all, like I said, great cuts, fresh and fair prices. Great people, great service. A solid 3 star. read more

The fish is so fresh. It's delicious. We grabbed some takeout from Wasabi Factory tonight since our regular place wasn't open. We were pleasantly surprised. We had a spicy scallop roll and the super salmon roll which were both very fresh and very good! The server and chef were also extremely accommodating for allergies! Moved close to the area recently and I've been trying to find a good sushi restaurant for a while now after trying many others in the city, and I finally found a great spot in Wasabi Factory. The rice they use for their sushi is exceptional, reminds me of a high end sushi restaurant rice, you can tell that whomever is making it, is highly experienced! The sushi was delicious and fresh, and I also had the delux bento box with tempura, chicken katsu and gyoza. Everything was made with care and attention to detail. The prices are also great, $20 for a bento box that can feed 2 people! We will definitely be coming back here as our Japanese sushi spot! Wonderful and delicious food! The cuts were very thick, perfectly cut and completely up to my standards of dozens of sushi joints in numerous countries and States. That chef doesn't F around! He gets the job done fast and well while even chatting with you! A guy from WA DC was sitting at bar next to me, I told him about Super White and he ordered and was blown away...."Holy SHaT man, this melts in your mouth!" He bitched a bit about lack of quality of sushi joints in DC-zone. After my large FULL Sashimi-platter, I ordered two-piece Nigeri Super White and then ONE Happy Hour roll...which I will have to look at menu and recall. I was off-the-hook filthy GOOD! Sauce, hell yeah! As far as service, the place was packed, I sat at main-bar to directly ask for special styles of cuts. I was even given a small FREE 4oz cup of light beer to make my proper Wasabi Bombs for pure-ecstasy in dipping each piece of joy!. I came here again with a friend I hadn't seen in a long time and we probably frustrated the server because it took us a long time to order. She came back three times before we finally got our game on. She had one of the sushi plates and I had a bento. Lots of food for lunch prices and my bento had a nice assortment in it. Firstly, I used to love this place. I do not now and will not return. We used to come here a couple times a year for sushi, sashimi, and rolls. They had nice menus, pleasant staff, better than average food, and nice drinks. Last night we went in and our server was a total doofus and we were handed beat up paper menus. The server called us "you guys" at least 3 times per visit to our table which seemed to occur every 30 seconds in the first 5 minutes. We just wanted some quiet time to llok at the menu that was new to us. We ordered 2 Sapporos which seemed foreign to him. I almost explained what a Sapporo was after witnessing his slack-jawed confusion. Having lost all confidence in the restaurant, we ordered Bento boxes. The meat (hers chicken mine beef) were tasty, but the tempura was just kinda gross and under cooked. Go to Toyama. They play wierd Bossa Nova, but at least the food is good. read more

I found my new favorite sushi spot. Someone had recommended this restaurant on NextDoor so I thought I'd give it a go. I'm so happy I did. The food was delicious, the price was great and the service was fantastic. My husband usually has to be in the mood to eat sushi, as I can eat it all the time.
