I've been going here for years, but it's changed owners quite a few times. Have to say it's gotten a great upgrade. The menus have been re-done, the food presentation is more elevated, and while the prices seem to be a bit higher I would say it's well represented in the food qaulity/amount. While I am vegan I do eat fish on occasion and the occasion is almost always for sushi. (I'm sorry my vegan friends). They don't have the roll I used to always get, so I tried the Pine Tree role, based on all the reviews I saw. I would give it a solid 8/10, delicious, but there was almost too much crunchy stuff on top. We also got the Tofu Teriyaki which is always a hit. I have to say the bento box (my dad's go-to order) got a serious upgrade! It comes with a lot more food and more variety- he had enough to take extra home! New ownership! Revamped and upgraded menu love the special sushi sets-definitely a good deal!! We got the deluxe nigiri/sashimi set and it was definitely good quality pieces and the presentation was beautiful as well!! Got a little too many rolls but we tried the baked lobster, shrimp high, pine tree, and good boy (baked roll). My personal favorite was the shrimp high (I loveee salmon) and the good boy was surprisingly good (I usually don't like deep fried rolls). The pine tree is their signature roll and it had crunchy toppings on top and i loved the texture-definitely a super unique roll!!!! I made an order for chicken katsu curry, trying out this place since it has 4 stars i said why not it should be decent. I also tried to make an order for croquette, she asked me what would I like "tuna or salmon?" Surprisingly i never had a fish croquette so I was intrigued to try the salmon. I came to the restaurant and the server exclaimed that she had a poke bowl and chicken katsu curry ready for me. I instantly knew that the language barrier got to me and I accidentally ordered a salmon poke. She thought I said poke instead of croquette. Which I do not blame her it was a honest mistake on both ends. But the chicken katsu was just super thin chicken, the thinnest I have ever ate. Hard, dry, chicken filet. It came with about 20 pieces so i was excited first for the abundance but then I realized why there was. The curry was flavorless and watery, no texture and barely any vegetables. Went here recently and food was JUST OK. We were the only patrons in the restaurant. Our waiter was attentive and polite enough. The price point for what you are receiving does not correlate. We got a sushi roll, and that was delicious, but the chirashi bowl I got was the most plain chirashi I've ever had. The cuts of fish were decent (ahi, salmon, hamachi, ika) but not particularly flavorful or rich. It came with tamagotchi and masago, but no shiso leaf, radish, daikon etc. My husbands chicken katsu curry was crunchy, and not the outside where you expect crunch to be. I really like the atmosphere of this restaurant. It is quite unassuming from the outside. Very basic strip mall food place. But the lighting inside is nice and soft and the shoji screens between the tables is very cute. I think pricing is very reasonable. This is a Korean owned Japanese restaurant, as so many are. No, I didn't speak with anyone about this, but there is Bulgogi and Jjamppong on the menu, so that's a dead giveaway. In saying that, the spicy ramen was pretty bomb. Really liked her. And while I found my Cali roll a tad Tangy, I still enjoyed it. Bottom line, a solid choice for some sushi or hot "Japanese" food. They need to add potato croquettes though. read more

The pictures aren't accurate on the menu. What you think you will get alongside with your main entree, you will not. You don't get some of the sides that's shown. It's just a picture prop to make the dish look pretty. Came in one afternoon and there was one server. She seemed a little rude, but maybe it's the way she just talks in general?! Ordered the basic ramen with sushi added and a teriyaki and tempura bento box. The ramen was a bit too salty and toppings were very little for it to be almost $15 itself without sushi. The pork (char su) was also super salty. I can't have shrimp so I asked to switch it out for another type of fish or whatever she could. I think I was given tilapia instead of snapper. That fish was pungent and had a strong fishy taste. Never again! The bento box was good except the chicken was a bit dry. I wouldn't visit this place again. Server wasn't that friendly and the food wasn't all that great. Although, the Mexican cook was friendly and the entire restaurant including restroom was clean. read more

This is the second sushi place. I've had in the Seattle area and I can tell you the portions are generous. The softshell crab was amazing. The service was prompt and the ambience was simple but cozy. I will not sure if this is normal but it appears that a lot of these restaurants are running the bill for a 20% tip, which is normally what I tip anyway, but I think they should give me the option and not pre-run my credit card for the amount prior to me giving them the tip on the card. We tried the Mexican roll which consists of spicy crab, shrimp, cucumber and avocado. I was intrigued to try one of sushi rolls since they make them fresh (you can see the worker making them). It was good! (4/5). We also tried the Chicken Katsu. I'm very picky with chicken Katsu but this one is good! They give you a good amount of sauce too and comes with salad. this is probably one of my top choices for chicken Katsu (4/5) in the area! I like how perfectly cut the chicken is. The crab appetizer we had was interesting, different, not exactly my favorite and I think I'll pass next time but everything else was amazin. ! The gyoza that comes in the bento boxes was actually one of my favorite items but my chicken katsu was delicious! Wow finally a great sushi place close by! I've had so many bad rolls at different places trying to find a good place. And tonight I found Tokyo House! I ordered the red dragon and California rolls and a side salad. Fresh and tasty spicy tuna is so hard to find but Tokyo House delivers. I no longer have to make a trip to Ballard for good and affordable sushi. Their house salad dressing is creamy, sweet and delicious. I ordered via Doordash and everything was fresh and fast. Stopped in to have dinner with my family and our server was Mika. It was a little into the dinner that I found out she was in training because she was consistently accompanied by her trainer, Alex. I was completely blown away that Mika was in training because she was such an amazing server! I had asked her several questions about directions to take with food and I loved all of her suggestions. I also really appreciated Mika as a person. She was warm, friendly and very professional. I really appreciated Alex as well. We ended up staying just a little past closing and Alex made sure to make us feel welcomed and not rushed.
