I cannot speak highly enough about Tokyo House!! My husband and I have been coming here for several years, ever since we moved to the area. We have dined in dozens of times and ordered takeout more times than I'd care to admit publicly. Their service is always impeccable, they never miss an item in our orders, and the food is excellent quality for a great price. Restaurants in the area that serve similar cuisine are always more expensive and lower quality. We usually get the bentos with salmon teriyaki but we have also tried their sushi, chicken teriyaki, ramen, and many other side options. Ordered for delivery on mother's day, so this is a review on food only. The Las Vegas roll was amazing! Absolutely one of the best sushi rolls, especially considering that I didn't get to see the restaurant presentation. I also ordered the garlic spicy ramen. The soup was delicious, and served in pieces so that it wasn't overcooked or soggy. My only issue with the order was the soft-boiled egg wasn't. I expect a soft-boiled egg to have a soft center, and this one wasn't. It was completely cooked throughout. Short of that, it was delicious and I look forward to the leftovers. I have eaten at this restaurant numerous times over the past 18-20 years. They have always had friendly and efficient service. I love sushi and have been lucky enough to dine at a few of the highest rated sushi restaurants in the US in the past. I know that I can trust the Tokyo House to always serve consistently fresh and well prepared sushi and other Japanese dishes every time I visit. As far as what I would rate the sushi itself I would easily give it a 4 out of 5 stars. I haven't been to Tokyo House since well before the pandemic, I only ordered rolls then. The service wasn't good so I didn't go back right away. Fast forward to giving them another try last week and the service was amazing. I ordered crab salad and sashimi, which came with miso and a little bowl of rice. The crab salad was very good, I could totally get a double order for takeout and make a meal of it. I love miso, so that's always awesome. Then the sashimi. While it seemed fresh (no odor) it definitely was not good quality. Very poor texture on all the different fish, the salmon wouldn't even hold together with my chopsticks when I lifted it from the plate. It just kept falling apart and I never did get a full size piece into my mouth. The ahi had to have been tailpipe tuna, which is gassed with carbon monoxide to make it a pretty color for a much cheaper price. The bright pink color transferred to the white strands that lined the plate. And the rice! It's really hard to mess up rice but it was really really mushy. I've never been served a side of rice with sashimi before, but then again I haven't eaten everywhere, but I didn't eat theirs. I won't say I'll never go back but I'll stick with my two favorites in downtown Everett. If I do go back it would be for the crab salad and their customer service, and maybe a roll or two. read more

UPDATED REVIEW: I'm very disappointed, I hate to say it but it's the worst sushi I've had. My sushi was warm (YUK!) thrown in a box, with no display. Sushi is all about the beauty and set up. I got miso soup, edamame, and two different types of sushi rolls. And the miso soup was the best thing I had. Changing my rating from a 3 star, to a 1 :( I won't be coming back. I couldn't even finish the edamame or sushi. Still waiting for my food, as it's taking longer than I was told over the phone. As I was paying for food the cashier picked up the phone twice, and proceeded to take their orders. Please put them on a quick hold instead of going back and forth between phones and in house customers. It doesn't make us feel like you care if you keep picking up the phone in the middle of a transaction. On a good note, The restaurant looks friendly and inviting, with beautiful colors. I like this place. Ramen is good. Place is clean. My second time here. Here is the only reason I'm giving 3 stars. I asked for hot chili sauce. When I went to pay I was charged a dollar. Not a big deal but for the tiny tiny sauce container it came in, half filled 2 tbs cup, I would think to tell me it's an extra $1. Okay sushi quality, but the rice is a bit dry and the rolls are rolled poorly. Falling apart and not enough rice or inside ingredients. Affordable rolls, but most of them were small for $11 for speciality rolls, barely bigger than the hosomaki classic rolls. It was a bit disappointing for the price. The best was the thick sashimi cuts, but the nigiri wasn't enjoyable with dry rice that needs a bit more rice vinegar too. Bentos were good, but our spider roll... had barley enough spider (soft shell crab) the rolls were smaller than the ones from Sushiland! To my surprise only the ends of the Spider roll had the best meat. :( I'm giving this place a 3 star because yelp's rating for a 3 for is for being A-OK. Wow. I have consumed many many pounds of Sushi in my day and I can honestly say that these guys have nailed it! Just because it's in Everett, doesn't mean it can't be quality Sushi, because it is. The establishment is nicely decorated, it looks like traditional Japanese and isn't cheap or cheesy looking. The chef and waitress were both friendly and greeted us upon entry and exit. We ordered a Bento, a Everett salmon roll and a seafood yakisoba, it was a ton of food for two. And for $28, very worth the price for a nice sit down place. Great Restaurant, I think for the sushi lover or the beginner. This low key restaurant is great, for the sushi beginner who doesn't want the embarrassment of being in a large crowd, as well as those who have no clue what a roll is. Large pictures on the menu make it easy for the amateur to pick and choose rolls easily, and know exactly what they are getting. The assortment is the typical affair, plus a bunch of great house creations. The nice bright décor and clean feel, bright atmosphere, it's a welcoming touch from some of the more common Sushi houses in Japan, as well as the sushi bar area, where you can communicate with the chef. His selection of fish is fresh, and you'll get your fill of Roe, which the chef here uses to really enhance the flavors of the sushi. It's not the easiest place to see right off the street, I nearly missed it, and coming from the mall/I-5, it's on the left side, and it's trapped in what looks like a strip mall nearby. Parking is good, and you shouldn't have much trouble. Once you get you fill of these great tasting rolls, take a stroll around, the area is now populated with some great local stores, with an Asian flair. The king salmon was great, as was the katsu that came with it. The tempura was nice and had a variety of vegetables and a piece of shrimp. It came with a salmon roll type thing which was pretty good. It also came with sashimi which was amazing. I believe it was red snapper, tuna, and salmon. Very quality fish, slightly disappointed in the fact they didn't have any soy sauce. That cost $27. The butterfish was simply amazing (then again I have a weakness for super white tuna, so that would explain) However, the price of about $6 for the two pieces is a bit overpriced. It was a nice big cut of fish, and was definitely quality fish, but still. Overall, it was a good experience, and I may or may not be back for the bento. read more

There aren't many sushi restaurants in Everett, but I stumbled upon this place along Everett Way by the mall. I walked in and it had an authentic feel and the waitress seated us right away. The menu has lots of pictures, showing all the different sushi rolls and hot foods as well, so it's definitely a plus for visual people. We ordered 3 sushi rolls for 2 people, which ended up being around $42, but I was stuffed and satisfied. This is my favorite restaurant in Everett for delivery at the moment and probably will be for quite some time. I've ordered from them a few times now and not only has every one of my orders arrived correct, well packed, and earlier than estimated, it's also been a really good value. I have yet to finish more than half of a two item bento box so it's been an excellent bonus for lunch the next day. The takeout containers they use are well divided, so your crispy items don't get soggy next the rice, and nothing saucy or oily mixes into the other items in the box. The soups and salads on the side are also packaged well and I've never been delivered something that looks like it's been rolling around in someone's car. Everything that's supposed to be hot is still hot when it arrives, and I know that doesn't sound like much, but that often isn't the case with delivery options around here. So far my favorite order has been their tempura. The batter is light and not too oily, and the vegetable assortment is good. The sushi, sashimi, katsu, gyoza, and teriyaki has all been very good and now that I know their staples are solid I'm excited to try more of their menu!
