Louisiana Roll, Volcano Roll, El Diablo Roll
    Nykein S.

The Sushi we ordered was delicious! Louisiana Roll was our favorite. This roll is fried, has a little kick of heat, overall good flavor and texture. El Diablo Roll. A little bit of heat, the fish had a fresh light taste and texture that helped break up the richness of the Volcano. Volcano Roll. This roll was very rich, it was delicious but ideally we would only comfortably eat 1-2 each. We did eat them all and they were delicious though! Overall beautiful presentation of the rolls, the orders came in a good time, and we received everything we ordered. Our server was kind and prompt in taking our order and bringing it out. They have contactless menus to scan at the table and majority of the items, if not all, have photos, and they have booth style areas to sit.

Sushi is the one food I have missed the most in 2020 and still in 2021. I hadn't gone out for sushi, picked up from a few spots occasionally but sushi really tastes best when it goes right from the sushi bar, a feet feet over and eaten fresh. So the other day we decided to finally go out and enjoy a sit down meal. We came in late since we had to work but we knew what we wanted and we were hungry so we knew we would be quick! Wait time at 8:10 was quoted 15 min with two other tables sat. It ended up being much quicker than that, 5 or so min! The sushi bar is closed, seating is still limited, we were seated on the side where everything was closed off and it just felt still like that area was closed but we were there. It's still not quite the dining experience I think we all miss but the waitress was nice, service was quick, and food came fast. We ordered the crab rangoons, tako yaki, and two rolls (seahawks roll and da bomb). The crab rangoons were mainly cream cheese, very little crab and a lot of rice paper. The tako yaki was very good though, I highly recommend! As for the rolls, we liked both but were a bit underwhelmed. Nothing stood out too much and it still wasn't quite the freshness we miss from sushi bars. Perhaps because it was later so that's our bad, but we'll definitely have to visit again for another try.

I came in on Tuesday night. It was quiet and I was seated right away. Server was also the hostess and she was polite and attentive. I ordered: * Mixed tempura entree--rice with shrimp and vegetable tempura, and came with miso soup and salad * Amaebi shrimp sushi with deep fried shrimp heads * Salmon sushi * Seared salmon sushi * Dragon roll The seared salmon sushi and Dragon Roll were excellent. Both delicious. Salmon sushi tasted fresh and very good. I like that the rice was still a little warm and it just melted in my mouth. The amaebi shrimp and tempura and soup were just above average. Freshly cooked. The salad was good, but would have preferred a Japanese ginger/carrot dressing or something like that. I'd come back again for their sushi for sure.

The family really wanted sushi for dinner so we came here to try a new spot out. When we got to the door there were a few people eating dinner inside and we were told it will be a 15 min wait for a table. The hostess took my name and number and told me she would give me a call when the table was available. We waited maybe 10 minutes and we were seated. Once we sat down our drink orders were promptly taken and they came out very fast. Once we decided what we wanted to eat we ordered, which was a lot of food! The waitress was cracking up because we were poking fun at at son who ordered 3 rolls for himself, she was blown away he could eat so much. After a good laugh we had our order in. The food didn't take long to come out and we started digging in. Every roll we ordered looked amazing and the taste matched what we saw. I'm a sushi snob and I was loving the flavors each roll had! We had a great experience dining here and we will for sure be back!

Wow wow wow! Pulled up, seemed insignificant. Walked in-- blown away! Brand new inside, very comfortable, adorable cabana sushi bar, extremely fast and delicious, wonderful soundtrack with perfect volume. We had made a reservation for just after they opened. Waitress- Mindy, 5 star service-- she served 5 parties with no delays. The chef creates very tasteful flavorful sushi, beautifully arranged, and generous. We reordered the Las Vegas, TNT and crunchy fantasy rolls. Started with miso soup, green tea and Rangoon, then the rolls started coming in!!! It would be a tragedy NOT to come back.

OVERALL: 7.8/10 (Yelp Converted Score: 3.9/5 - rounded up to 4/5). I generally don't hit up places around the Mill Creek area, because (a) I don't live in that area, and (b) I subconsciously compare everything to Seattle, and that's not fair, because Mill Creek has places too! I stopped by since it had a decent average rating, and I had to play a tennis match in an hour. 1) VARIETY/SELECTION: 7/10. The menu had a relatively decent selection: hibachi bentos (lunch/dinner), ramen, sushi / sashimi a la carte, sushi rolls, hand rolls, teriyaki, and udon. My issue was that there didn't seem to be any kind of specialty dish - sort of like a "jack of all trades, master of none" place. I'd posit that ordering more rolls than anything else would yield a better result, since there was certainly a lot of sushi and roll selection (I saw ramen - I started craving ramen). 2) FRESHNESS: 6/10. The spicy tuna roll that came with the "Ramen Combo B" was decent (say 7.5/10), and the green tea was adequate (8/10). The ramen dish is where I took issue (5/10, if that) -- the soup had enough MSG in it that I could feel how much bloat it would give me by just looking at the surface of the broth. The noodles were "okay", but they generally had a neutral-to-"none" flavour. The togarashi topping helped to give *some* flavour, though. The major complaint I had was regarding the egg - which was extremely hard-boiled - there was no yolk whatsoever, which made me sad, because it's *ramen*! Minor complaint about the spicy tuna roll: it was an inconsistent size - some of the rolls were tall, others were short. 3) VALUE FOR MONEY: 9/10. My full meal $15.96 (after tax, before tip) for green tea & "Ramen Combo B", which included shoyu ramen and an 8pc spicy tuna roll. I went in hungry, and felt full leaving, so decent value for money. Unfortunately, the MSG in the broth made the soup hard to drink fully, but I did enjoy everything else in the combo. 4) SERVICE: 9/10. From what I could see, there were 2 wait staff (1 primary, 1 secondary), 2 sushi chefs; everyone always seemed busy. Note: I dined alone, so that might have helped expedite my experience. After ordering my food & green tea, I received all of the items within 10 minutes, and was able to finish eating, get the check, and pay within 40 minutes. I was somewhat saddened by the lack of green tea refill - especially since the restaurant wasn't *that* full, and a lot of time was spent in between "when dishes were ready to be served". That may have been due to the distance between the (central preparation) area that the dishes were coming from, and the tables that had ordered them (which were on the far reaches of the restaurant). Another note: There were tons of open tables - I can see how this place may get busy on a Saturday or Friday night, but on the Sunday evening (around dinner hour - 6pm) that I went, there were maybe 6-8 other parties in the restaurant. The big plus was that they accommodated my peanut allergy - when I originally ordered the "classic" Ramen Combo B, the wait staff went to put my order in, and warned me that I should avoid that one due to possible cross-contamination - recommending the "shoyu" option instead, which I went with, and had no issues with! 5) CONSISTENCY / FIRST IMPRESSION: 8/10. Decent first-time experience, I'd definitely come back! This place seemed more suited for parties of 3 or more, simply because there were very few tables that sat exactly two people (and the seating arrangement didn't seem that flexible, since a lot of the seating was booth-based bench seating, for mostly parties of 4 or more), and that's definitely reflected by the large selection of rolls available (which you could order multiple of, for the entire party). The dinner bentos also seemed interesting - I was fairly close to trying one of the teriyaki dinner bentos (since they're hard to mess up, and I needed energy for a tennis match), but ultimately I picked a "ramen combo" that included a basic sushi roll as part of the combo. For one person, the combo size was large enough.

Our New Year resolution is to try new restaurants, this is the first. The south county area is packed with sushi places; I drove past 4 other sushi joints to get to Ho. The layout is typical, tables and a bar to sit at. Overall, it felt messy and cluttered. The service was not stellar, only a single person serving and putting together the orders. The server really needed help. She was very pleasant, but tired. Ho's menu has a great selection of rolls; they taste as good as they were described. The dinner was nice, the service was slow, the facility needs to be tidied up and cleaned. I don't know if we will return; the sushi competition is fierce.

Delicious sushi. Great atmosphere! I had two rolls, both of them were delicious. I had a glass of Pinot Grigio to compliment the fatty fish. The owner and his wife are doing an amazing job.

So glad this place survived after Covid. The seafood shaved noodle was solid. You get shrimp, squid and scallops. $13.95. Really? We are floored! Husband said it was exactly the same and he enjoyed it! He finished his whole plate. Impressed with the large portion!! Shrimp was huge! Instead of seafood, I asked to sub with chicken. Server said no problem! The chicken slices were super tender and juicy and the shaved noodle texture was perfection. It was a bit bland but nothing a lil' table soy can't fix. Only $11.95 for a huge platter. I was super hungry and cleaned my plate but for most, there'd be leftovers. Mapo tofu with white rice. The sauce had too much corn starch and the meat texture was not my favorite. I've had better but when you have spicy sauce over fluffy rice, it can be mediocre and still be satisfying..Would rather have this for my work lunch than Marie Callendar's any day. Pan fried pot stickers 8 pieces $7.95. Delicious. It's the thin skin kind. Classic, you can't go wrong! I can't eat fried stuff nowadays but their fried chicken wings were the best. Plump, juicy and piping hot! I am sure it's still amazing! They have lots of other menu items. On a colder day, I would go for the custom noodle soup bowls for $12.95. (Choose noodle, broth, 2 veg and 2 proteins). Duck noodle soup sounds amazing. For more topping, I think it's $2.25 per extra topping. One of the few places where most everything is below $15 per entree item and nothing above $20. I would like to try their oxtail noodle soup, sizzling beef or chicken platter, teriyaki short ribs, beef chow fun, and black bean noodle dish next time. Interior is clean with pleasant Cantonese Chinese music, free waters, and guava candy when you pay. The evergreen Asian supermarket next door has a lot of Asian grocery goodies with a Vietnamese deli inside. Durian is on sale for $4.29 a pound. Yes, you can get durian in Everett! Impressive! Worth the drive to get good Chinese then shop next door.

I ordered a miso ramen and my parents ordered the tonkatsu ramen. As someone from the Bay Area, I was so surprised by the richness of the ramen and it definitely beats some of my usual spots. Each bowl was ~$15 and a smaller bowl, so would definitely advise getting an extra batch of noodles. The chashu is melt in your mouth tender. The broth wasn't very salty or over complicated itself with a burst of spices, but highlighted the simplicity of a good ramen, tasting the long simmer of the pork. We walked into a casual, compact space with a mix of counter and table seating that fits the quick ramen shop style. The interior is efficient and well organized, though it can get extremely busy, and the wait times are often one of the biggest parts of the experience, especially during peak hours. Once seated, the space feels functional and comfortable, designed around getting a bowl of ramen in front of you without unnecessary distractions. The ramen is built around rich tonkotsu broth with a lot of customization options. We appreciated the ability to adjust things like noodle firmness, richness, and spice level, which made each bowl feel more personalized. The regular tonkotsu ramen stood out for its deep umami flavor without feeling overly heavy, and the noodles had a great texture that held up well against the broth. The vegan options also stand out, including miso-based bowls with flavorful broths that give non-pork options more depth than many ramen shops offer. The toppings are generous, and the soft-boiled egg was cooked to that perfect jammy consistency. Beyond ramen, the menu has a few sides that complement the meal well, including gyoza that came out crisp and well filled. We also grabbed mochi ice cream for something sweet afterward, a light finish after the rich broth. The seasonal ramen options are worth checking out since they add variety beyond the standard bowls, giving regular visitors a reason to come back and try something new. Service is generally quick and friendly, especially considering how busy the restaurant gets. The ordering system is straightforward, and the staff handles the constant flow of customers efficiently. The team kept the pace moving without making the experience feel rushed, and they were attentive to refilling water and checking in on the table. The biggest downside is the popularity, since the lines can sometimes feel long for a relatively quick meal, but the wait tends to move faster than expected given the efficient turnover. Ramen Danbo is a reliable spot for a satisfying bowl of ramen in Seattle. The customizable bowls, strong broth, and consistent noodle quality make it a place worth visiting, although planning around busy hours can make the experience much better. The balance of customization and quality means you can dial in your bowl exactly how you like it, and the focused approach to the menu keeps the attention where it belongs.

Yet, it's disappointing to say that we've been sourly disappointed the last 2-3 times we came here. Not sure if it's management change or something happened, but Nakagawa lost its magic with us. 1. The service has been terribly slow and just not inviting anymore. After ordering, we waited easily 35-40 min for the food. I know it takes time to meticulously prep rolls, but after 30 min of just sitting and waiting, you can't help but start feeling hangry. And this isn't just a one-time occurrence - this happened multiple times for us. 2. The bento box quality. I LOVE bento boxes - it was such a treat to dine on so many different Japanese options, like a sampler box of goodness. Ranging from nigiri to sushi, from tempura to the soup, bento boxes have a special place in my heart. Yet, I feel like Nakagawa's bento boxes have sadly missed that mark. The protein (chicken teriyaki/katsu) tastes old and oddly mushy, and the portions are quite small, just leaving me wanting more. Don't get me wrong - the fish is still good. Solid place for seafood, paired with a lengthy wait. But Nakagawa just lost its touch with us, and driving that 30-35 min trek is not worth it for us anymore.
