Tasty and perfect for these colder fall months. We all had a soup with beef stock, varied assortment of meats and veggies. However, mine I would probably pass on the bbq duck next time. But overall good! The chicken fried rice left a little to be desired though, I've had better elsewhere. I used Yelp to search for Chinese food while in Everett today for a late lunch and King Noodle House was top of the list for my filters. I went after the lunch rush as I was the only customer there (perfect timing!). King Noodle House has hand shaved noodles which I was craving and they didn't disappoint. I ordered on the paper menu specifically made for the Noodles Combo which has to be their best seller - why else have a dedicated short menu offered for it? I had chicken broth as my soup base, hand shaved noodles, beef brisket, BBQ Pork, bean sprouts and baby Bok Choy for my other ingredients. The steaming bowl showed up a short time later with all the aroma a appeal that I expected. The hand shaved noodles had great texture and visual appeal. Chewy in a good way. The beef and pork were tender and tasty. Overall, this was a good comfort meal for a cloudy cool day in the PNW. When you check in on Yelp you get a coupon for a free soft drink so make sure you do that prior to ordering. The highlight was the spicy broth which was incredibly delicious. The environment was spacious and clean, well kept. Very reasonable prices and the menu had pictures which I find helpful. All the meats were very tough, brisket was surprisingly chewy. The pork was tough and flavorless, I didn't care for their wonton - very small and tasted funky. The noodles lacked salt, the hand shaved noodles were thick and unappetizing. Very disappointed with their cheap button mushrooms instead of shiitake or oysters. Awful service, server was walking around with ear pods the whole time and did not smile at all. When I tried to exchange my free soda Yelp coupon for the green tea at the same price, she resisted before reluctantly giving me the tea. Across the board, we thought the food was bland and we added soy sauce to everything. We would order the general tso chicken again as that was probably the most flavorful dish. I wished the mapo was spicier and had more flavor overall. The chicken crispy noodle dish was tasty but not enough noodles for the dish itself. For the noodle soup combo, I ordered the hand shaven noodles and spicy soup. I reboiled the soup at home and added extra seasonings because I thought it tasted like spicy water. I wish I ordered a different noodle because when the hand shaven noodles cooled down, it got clumpy and was difficult to separate the strains. Apparently although they both have the option to customize your noodle soup, they are not of the same owner or have any prior connections. Anyway this is a good spot for Chinese noodles and a good go to if you live around Everett. I ordered the customized noodle soup with hand shaven noodles, beef broth, beef brisket and tripe as well as baby bok choy and bean sprouts. The broth was flavorful. The bok choy was a bit overcooked and tasted a little too mushy. The beef brisket was chewy but it was still good, just wish there was more meat. I was pleased with the hand shaven noodles I got. So I'm always a little cautious doing a review for a restaurant that I haven't tried several times. With that in mind be warned I've only eaten here once! We order takeaway from here and it was delicious we had mandarin beef which had way too many onions in it after all it's not called mandarin onion! But most places add to many onions to skip out putting more beef in it non the less it was delicious then we had a spicy chicken dish to be honest I asked the lady on the phone taking my order to pick a dish so I couldn't understand her when she said the name , I just said fine sounds good please add it to my order. We then had bbq pork fried rice which was very different from how I'm used to having it. The rice was very white and then had all the usual ingredients like egg, peas, carrot you know the usual stuff and it was very tasty and delicious as well. Back to the spicy chicken dish the order taker suggested. It came with nice large flat pieces of chicken in a white ish colored sauce and it too was amazing. Everything was still piping hot by the time we got it home and it was very obviously that everything was cooked after we had ordered it. So I say 5 stars to these guys so far and I love Chinese food so without a doubt we'll be eating at King Noodle House again. Again remember I've only eaten here one time but I would really recommend that you take the family and try it out, I have no idea of the decorations on the inside but that's not really why you're going there is it? I got my shrimp chow mein with no veggies and even though it's not very pretty, I can say it's sooooo good! My pregnant appetite can only handle certain things and the texture of these noodles, the shrimp, and the quality is so good!
