After we sat down, we ordered 2 Shoyu, 1 spicy miso, and 1 Shrimp Tan Tan. Tan Tan: The broth for Tan Tan tasted clean and not greasy as it does not contain meat. It had a spicy kick to the broth which I loved. There were 4 shrimps that were perfectly cooked, not dry. Spicy Miso: the broth also had a kick to it. This broth was a bit thicker than Tan Tan's as the ramen contains meat. It wasn't greasy and salty. Shoyu: this broth is the thickest and heaviest. A bit greasy but not too greasy. All ramen weren't salty and were delicious even for non-ramen lover like myself. We will be back!

Nestled behind the main walking areas, you can follow the street signs to this restaurant. We arrived just before they opened for the evening from 4:30pm. It is not a large restaurant but we were early. Bright and cheerful interior with shelves of Japanese sweets and some souvenirs on the side. Our favorite and go-to is the tonkotsu which has the thicker pork bone broth. We have not visited for a year or so and the price has gone up while the volume seemed to have gone down. Nevertheless the taste was great and we were satisfied with the meal.

I waited about 35 minutes to receive my food. Would I have liked to receive it sooner? Yes, but I could tell the kitchen was working hard and it was busy. They did what they could I got an 8.00 Sake Maki role and the Nebeyaki Udon soup dish to compliment the rainy and moody weather The sushi roll wasn't anything special. Salmon, rice and seaweed, you really can't go wrong! I'm going to to come back and try other rolls cause the sushi here looks delicious The soup was full of Sweet and savory ... It definitely had that umami flavor but the shrimp and egg were very overcooked. The soup was boiling hot when I received it, the egg was hard boiled, not poached and the shrimp tempura was tough and rubbery. The variety of ingredients impressed me though. The fish cake, fried tofu, mushrooms, and pea crisps were delicious and flavorful! I would get this dish again, because it truly did taste good, I just wish they'd out the shrimp and egg into the broth later so that they didn't come out overcooked. Loved the vibe here, food was good.. this place has a good thing going!

We got and appetizer, and two entrees and the total came out to about $40 so it's a very affordable option. One thing to note: there are certain options (yakitori) that are only available during dinner time, so keep that in mind! But overall we really liked it, and we will be back soon!

Definitely worth a try! I ordered the karaage chicken bowl. There was a lot of chicken pieces and a heavy serving of "egg fried rice" underneath. Very filling, and very delicious. The chicken is fried, and it comes with green onion which breaks up the creamy richness from the egg and fried chicken flavors. It was so much food, I had leftovers to take home for lunch the next day. The entrees come with miso soup before the meal arrives at your table, so we were happy with the fried chicken skin appetizer and miso soup starter, then to finish it off with our entrees. Everything tasted good, hot and fresh. The staff were friendly, fast, and attentive. It's located in a shopping strip next to a gas station. It's a great spot for a hearty, quick bite to eat.

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE 3.5 stars: the only thing really…read morestopping us from going back is the perception of value (or price of the dishes). The food is decent and the service good. I know things have gone crazy after the pandemic...but it still feels a little surprising that in Langford (i.e. not downtown or at a ritzy mall like Mayfair with higher rent), the prices are as high as what you get food-wise. === 2. FOOD Kid's Udon ($11) It's good - the udon, broth, single tofu puff, and the kid's juice (apple). I'm just struggling a little bit with the cost to get such a small meal. It feels like it should be $9 or less, or perhaps had more in the udon bowl to make it feel like it was worth $11. Smoky Beef Short Ribs So 8 oz is $28 and an extra 4 oz is $12. We decided to go for both and found that $40 for 12 oz of meat really didn't come up with much (see pic). The portion size is a little on the small side - at least compared to the price. Full Meal ($4.75) This add-on gets you a small salad, one small side dish (no choice - just kimchi), and a bowl of rice. It's different than we're used to in Korean restaurants around the world (even compared to ones in Vancouver) where there is no choice of side dish, and no refills. Bulgogi Bibimbap ($18.50) This is the dish I would recommend - if you're looking for something to fill you up at reasonably value, you can't go wrong with beef and veg on rice. === 3. SERVICE The service was great and the food served in a reasonable time, no complaints here! === 4. ENVIRONMENT It's a little on the darker side which is fine - clean and contemporary. There are tables for 2, 4, or perhaps 8 or more when they are combined. Wheelchairs and baby strollers fit well here. The expansive shopping complex parking lot outside should be able to accommodate your chariot easily.

Apparently, Ramen Arashi is part of a Canadian chain that originated in Banff. It's a clean restaurant and the service was good. The bathroom is very clean and nice. It was on the late side for lunch (past 1PM) so we were fortunate enough to be able to walk right in and get served quickly. The takoyaki wasn't the most octopus-stuffed I've ever had, but it was solid! My husband and I split the black sesame tonkotsu ramen and the yuzu shio ramen. Both were unique in their own ways; the black sesame flavor in that tonkotsu was super pronounced and it was a very hearty ramen. The yuzu shio was super light and very flavorful; the yuzu flavor was also super pronounced. Also love the amount of tender chashu slices they give you with each bowl. The lettuce in the yuzu shio bowl was not my favorite; I appreciate the thought of more fiber/something healthier but the soup is so hot that it cooks the leafy greens immediately and I don't love wilted lettuce in my ramen. But all the other toppings were great; bamboo shoots were super flavorful, nori was crunchy, and eggs were perfectly jammy. Great place to grab a bowl of ramen if that's what you're craving!
