We decided to try a sushi roll since they had a staffed sushi counter, it was ok, just very slow. My chicken Katsu was the better of meals, good size but I finished it in one sitting. We also had the udon special which was just an ok mild soup. (w/ very chewy meats in a lite broth.) Pretty solid sushi in a retail plaza. Menu is pretty basic but they do a good job with what they've got. The most notable thing is that the portions are MASSIVE. The nigiri, for example, is easily 2x the size you typically see - a solid 2 bites per piece if not 3. I got 3 hand rolls and 1 nigiri, but easily could have done with just 2 hand rolls. She said it would be ready in 15 minutes. We show up 20 minutes later. They got the sushi ready, forgot the ramen, and the drinks weren't ready. We got tapioca bubble teas. After sitting and waiting for the drinks for 10 minutes, the guy comes by and said there's 13 more minutes on the tapioca. Really? Then I asked to be refunded for the tapioca charge. When I came in I was not greeted, and then noticed no one else was either. Not one employee smiled or acted like they wanted to be there. When it was my turn to order I had to seek out the person to order From, instead of him saying " hi I can take you over here!" We stopped by this place on our way out from the national park and ordered online. When we picked up our food, we noticed some red flags right away. We had about five sushi rolls in total. After trying one, we were already uncertain about the freshness. When we got to a roll with salmon, it smelled terrible it definitely was off, and was warm to the touch. We brought it back in, and the male staff member smelled it and agreed that it had gone bad. He was very professional and courteous, and we really appreciated how he handled the situation. He issued a refund for the bad rolls and only charged us for what we had consumed. However, a Hispanic woman working there insisted the sushi was fine and said it was "fresh," which was frustrating. I eat sushi every week and know what it's supposed to taste and smell like, and this wasn't it. Hoping we don't get sick. I will update if we do. What a great find! First the people who work there were very friendly and helpful. Second, the food was very good- well seasoned, large portions and it was on our table very quickly. I've been here a few times and it was always ok for a quick meal. We heard they had new owners so we gave it another go. I ordered the chicken stir fry and asked them to add cashews. This was a takeout order and of course there was an upcharge for the cashew which is fine. When my husband got home I opened the box to see a bunch of black, burned cashews which to me means they deep fried them to death. This is not a deep fried dish. Why not just put them in the wok at the end like any other dish with cashews? Do you know what happens to nuts that you blacken? They become bitter. And to think we paid for that. Unfortunately even if those were not on there, this dish had ZERO flavor. Where's the msg? the salt? some garlic? Anything would be better than what I got. I don't care how much you upgrade the inside, if you are not sure how to cook a cashew or season your food, you might want to re-think a few priorities. I want to like you. read more

Yay for KOTO Teriyaki & Sushi which is not only a shining five stars in my book, but also my 400th review! It's the humble independent businesses like these that I love to celebrate and share. Three of us stopped by for a quick lunch before heading off to a couple lavender farms in the area. This shop offers traditional teriyaki plates, combos, Chinese lunch specials and a variety of sushi rolls. It's an understatement to say there's a ton to choose from! Although I was tempted to try their sushi, I decided to keep things simple and went with the spicy chicken ($14.95) which came with two scoops of rice and a fresh side salad. I misinterpreted and thought this would be a spicy version of teriyaki chicken, so I was surprised to find out it wasn't that. Instead, it was grilled chicken in a reddish sauce that had a bit of tang, sweetness and a fair amount of heat (even at a 2-star spice). Shredded carrot, onion and zucchini were mixed in with the nicely charred chicken, so I appreciated the extra veggies. Despite this meal being different than I expected, it was really tasty and consisted of quality ingredients. Plus, the serving was HUGE! I had enough left over for a full second meal, so I would consider the value to be great as well. Others in my group enjoyed the beef & chicken teriyaki combo meal and the yakisoba. The service was also excellent. We spent some time perusing the menu, but didn't feel rushed at all. The cashier was genuinely friendly when taking our order and welcomed all customers with a smile. We grabbed a table outside while waiting and he kindly brought our food out to us after just about 10 minutes. It was piping hot, right off of the stove. KOTO is located in a small strip mall across from the Walmart in Sequim. A pretty consistent stream of customers were in and out, so it was great to see this restaurant getting so much business. I originally left a 5 star here at Koto Terriyaki & Sushi. Sadly after the last 3 times my family and I have eaten here the quality of food has diminished significantly so I am making an adjustment to my original review. The last time we ate here was 11 April, 2025. We ordered our typical order which was: * 2 Orders of the Chicken Breast Terriyaki, sauce on the side (comes with a house salad on the side as well) * 2 orders of the 10pc Potstickers We got it to go and once our order was ready we swooped by, paid for it and picked it up. We chose to have order it to go since we all had a long day in town and wanted some comfort Chicken Terriyaki & Potstickers. We started to eat it on the way and the chicken had an odd texture to it just by looking at but we went for it anyways. Upon tasting the chicken it had a spongy, dryness to it. It didn't taste like any chicken I had eaten before here or anywhere else that I've eaten. My children only ate a few pieces and afterwards wouldn't eat anymore because they didn't like the taste. Since my wife and I usually share it with them it was odd they didn't like it all this time. My wife didn't want to eat any of it since it didn't look right to her. I ate some of it and after a few pieces into eating it I ended up choosing to throw both of the Chicken Terriyaki orders away. The rice still tasted like it usually did which was great. The side salad looked like brown, shredded lettuce and tasted old, so my wife and I didn't finish it either and tossed them into the trash as well. The pot stickers still tasted like they have since we first ate any food here so everyone enjoyed them. The service was great, those who were working on 11 April were professional and welcoming as they usually are when we come in. The inside of the restaurant was clean and felt as welcoming as it has every time we've been here. Throwing away 2 orders of chicken teriyaki, the side salads is a sad and frustrating situation for anyone. I'm not sure how or why the quality of the food has diminished and digressed so much. I wanted to address this change in the quality of food for anyone who chooses to check it out. If the quality of food comes back to what it was when I first stopped in to check it out than I will be happy to adjust my review. I was excited to have a place to enjoy Chicken Terriyaki close to where I live, travel and shop until the quality of food diminished. I won't be stopping by here any time soon. Road tripping the peninsula brought is here as one of two legit teriyaki places that weren't Chinese or Japanese full service restaurants. We were looking for quick but good teriyaki to go. We appreciated the option for online, counter, or in-restaurant self service ordering kiosks. There is no dine in, and they have an area dedicated to pre-paid pick orders. Food was standard teriyaki with additional Korean and sushi options. Kimchee was slightly lack luster in spice, taste, and serving size for $5, but our chicken yakisoba (generous portion size), pork teriyaki and beef bulgogi was great. Miso soup was just right in flavor and temperature. Overall, it was exactly what we were looking for while on a road trip in the Port Angeles/Sequim area where options seem on the slim side. We didn't have to wait more than 10 mins for our walk-in order while they seemed consistently busy with call in, walk in, and doordash orders. read more

We ordered the family meal and a California Roll for three of us and it was fantastic! This is more than enough food to feed a family of 6. The staff were so wonderful and greet you as soon as you walk in the door. It is a breath of fresh air to find good customer service here. A few years ago this used to be one of the best restaurants in town. It's unfortunate to see this place go downhill. To start, there was a long black hair in the ruby roll I just ordered. The sushi had no flavor and the spicy tuna roll changed. It's now caked in chili paste which was unbearable. The serving size has shrank and it's just as expensive. I've had better sushi at a Fred Meyer than what I was served today. I don't think that we'll be going back now. They simply just don't care anymore. read more

Somethings different... I love this place every time we get dash, take out, or dine in, it WAS consistent and delicious. Last week I went in for take out and was stoked to see a new layout and updated interior. "Like way to go guys , UPGRADE!" We got some sushi, some noodles, and egg rolls. The sushi was stale. It felt like pre made not fresh to order as it usually was. Used to get it fresh. One of our rolls was fried and it was so old the batter was soggy and falling off. Another oddity was normally if you ordered like orange chicken your whole container was orange chicken. The one we got was 60 percent whit rice. Two big scoops take up a third of my container and then under the chicken is more white rice. Same with the noodles. , etc. Not sure if it's new owners, cook, bad day but I imagine you'll lose business having drastically change what was good. read more

Buyer beware!! First time going and here's the review: This establishment leans to the side of a "fast-food" place. Paid $80.00 for sub-quality meal for two. Everything was overpriced!! The worst parts - the tuna was sinewy and warm. The edamame was waterlogged and barely warmed. The saki was mildly warm (and $19.99 for a bottle that would have been considered a small anywhere else). They didn't have a (human) dishwasher, so all food was served in to-go packaging.
